What happened to the Christian church over the 2000 years since the Day Of Pentecost? Why are there so many denominations? How did it happen? This book, written in easy to read literary style contains a detailed study of the Seven Church Ages.
William M. Branham was a Christian minister, usually credited with founding the post World War II faith healing movement.[1] While many Pentecostal Christians welcomed his evangelistic and healing ministry, and some considered him to be a Prophet, a minority have accorded him an even higher status, believing that his ministry and teachings were supernaturally vindicated by God.[2] Some observers refer to this as "Branhamism," however, adherents prefer the name "Message Believers." He believed Christians needed to return to the original apostolic faith of the Bible, often referring to Malachi 4:5–6 and Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
William Branham had a lot of unorthodox views. He sought to expose the “error” of the Trinity.
Branham states, “Today there is a gross error. It is not that there are three Gods, but one God with three offices. There is ONE God with three titles, Father, Son and Holy Ghost. This mighty revelation is what the early church had, and it must be restored in this last day along with the correct formula of water baptism.” (p18)
“How can thee persons be in one God? Not only is there no Bible for it, but it shows even a lack of intelligent reasoning. Three distinct persons, though identical substance, make three gods, or language has lost its meaning entirely.”(p18)
“This trinity (an absolutely unscriptural word) was based upon the many gods of Rome.”(p19)
He even says that those baptised in the name of Father, Son and Holy Ghost have an illegitimate baptism. Baptism must be specifically in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.(p20)
Branham's rejection of the Trinity is an over-correction to perceived tritheism (a form of polytheism). His beliefs fit in the category of modalism and Pentecostal Oneness?
William Marrion Branham, An Exposition of the Seven Church Ages (Jeffersonville, Indiana: Voice of God Recordings, 2005). ......
Update: Branham's credibility has pretty much disintegrated now that in the 21st century we are able to access what gets plagiarized, and cross reference facts.
Fraud and tax evasion are some of his well known activities. Branham was baptized and ordained a minister by Roy Davis, the National Imperial Wizard (leader) of the Ku Klux Klan; the two men maintained a lifelong relationship.
But in an age where fervent admirers double-down on "loyalty" to their charismatic cult- leaders I simply should not be so surprised that this book still has its defenders and 5 star ratings.
You’ll never read a more thorough, detailed and revelatory explanation of the seven church ages, seven seals and what the “bride of Christ” really is and means. A fully convincing exposition of many portions of the Bible. A life-changer. Consider reading it. You may or may not like it.
I’ve been convinced and believe that William Branham was a supernaturally-vindicated prophet of God for this day. I’m sure this would lead to some calling me crazy, but I’m okay with that.
This book is by far the best understanding of true Christianity from the garden of Eden to the book of Revelations. Each chapter takes me deeper into the understanding of the Scriptures. It identifies the errors is man' supposition of God's word. It shows how man has added to the Bible or taken from. It identifies the Godhead in its fullness.
The author clearly states that you must recieve this book with a spiritual understanding, if this book is taken without an understand of the Scriptures it is....misunderstood. The richness of Revelation in the wording is more profound than any work I have ever encountered. We see why it had to be a Virgin Birth, what sin did it cover.....How awesome it is to see that God's plan started before Time was given to man. We see that while we are creatures of time, God is the "I AM" there is no time in Him, as He was then He is now. This encompasses all time and space. We understand how Joshua stop the revolution of the planets for a day to win the battle. When he said "Sun stand still" he had the Revelation of this book as he knew God controlled time and space. We see how John was lifted into the "Lords Day" John saw what was, what is and what was to come. It appears to me that John was one of the first human time travelers....
We see the error in man's science, the lack of an absolute even in math. We find that the Word is the only Absolute, final, nothing beyond the decimal point....
I don't see how anyone could pick up this book, read it through and not see the Plan of God from the foundation of the earth.
Refreshing surprize of book and an excellent exgises establishing that which professional preachers wont preach
"These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming 1 John 2/26:28
William Branham plagiarized most of his information on the seven church "ages" from Clarence Larkin's book, “The Book of Revelation: A Study of the Last Prophetic Book of Holy Scripture"(Philadelphia, PA: Rev. Clarence Larkin Estate, 1919).
A simple examination of Larkin's book will point out the extent of the plagiarism.
To this William Branham added his own heretical teachings such as Serpent's seed, his take on modalism. He also spends a significant amount of time pointing to himself, albeit obliquely, as the messenger to the seventh church age.
This book is held in high regard by his adulant followers, which explains the number of high ratings that the book has received.
It is amazing how Branham without Theological background weaved scriptures through the bible to bring out a clear picture of how the Church has survived through the ages. A good read for any serious christian
I read this book in 2011. Still reads it. Can't get enough of it. This book took me back to the full Bible, made me love it more and revolutionalized my thinking. Am no more the same. Been living for Jesus since by grace.
