Something eternally beautiful happens when a father teaches his son how to step into manhood.
For brothers Krypt, Khrome, and Kavalli, their opportunity to learn was cut short. The death of their father, Duke, left them with more duties than they expected. Equipped with hustle, an education, and a rowdy group of young go-getters behind them, they feel they can take on whatever problems arise.
The streets and the women who hold them down think otherwise. With budding relationships in the air, co-parenting becoming non-existent, and raw betrayal by the ones they love, can the brothers keep the Priest name alive, or will their father’s death be in vain?
Trappin’ Through The Snow is a new urban tale from BriAnn Danae that will leave you wondering who you can trust. It’s not always about who you know, but who you don’t. No matter who didn’t like the plays they made or who tried taking their spot… the Priest brothers had made a name for themselves and were standing on all ten toes behind it.
BriAnn Danae is an urban romance author and native of Kansas City, Missouri. In October 2015, she penned her first novel and since has enhanced her catalog claiming seventy titles to date. She whimsically writes Black love stories with purpose and passion, making you want to go beyond the book and look into her mind as a writer.

There’s a message BriAnn strives to leave with her readers. “I don’t just write to tell a story. I write to paint a picture and give a testimony.”
I had no idea where this was going (because I didn’t read the synopsis) but im glad it went exactly where it did 🤣
The Priest Brothers! I loved these brothers! I loved Krypt relationship with his mom and how he came through Vezzo! Loved that down!
As much as I love Krypt, I don’t think Kavalli gets the love he deserves!! I loved him & Dreeya!
Khrome, a lover boy indeed! I just idk Milan is looney tunes, I can’t wait to see how it unfolds. And will this affect his forming relationship with Selyse?
The ending though, I didn’t see that coming at all! Talk about plot twist, and Duke baby we wanna see bout you!!!
this is my first time reading a non-romance book by briann & i can say.. it didnt disappoint! three brothers.. khrome, kavalli, & krypt.
is it just me or do they remind yall of the porters?!
anyways, book one had plenty of drama and lots of toxicity (which i love).
krypt.. the oldest. i love how chill he is but how he doesn't play about his family or his money. hope him & alora work out!
kavalli.. hot head, but i love it! i reallllly hope dreeya wasnt apart of this setup with her ex quentin (i dont think so because why would she shoot the man he was with? did she go to jail with kavalli? maybe book two will answer) .. i hope they work it out.. although they argue like 80 y/o's lol.
khrome.. i like khrome.. but that crazy bitch milanj gotta go. although he enables her behavior, he deserves happiness outside of her because she needs help. i hope she didnt kill khemani lawd.
koya.. sounds like a bad bitch that i cant wait to learn more about in book two!
Whew these Priest brothers were something else!! The levels to their BDE was amazing! You got Krypt with that grown man BDE that makes you just want to do whatever he says and just be submissive to him! Then Krome who has that smooth BDE, baby his words and actions will have you swooning and ready to do whatever!! Then my personal favorite (I love me a little unhinged 😂) Kavali with his straight up unhinged, thugged out BDE 🤤🤤 Now Krypt and Alora had me cheesing so hard, I was rooting for them from jump! I did feel like Khrome was handling the Milan situation all wrong! He was sending all kinds of mixed signals knowing her mental wasn't right! But him and miss Selyse I have a feeling are gonna be great together. Now onto my favs!! I absolutely love me some Dreeya!! She was my fav because she kept Kavali on his toes 😂 I don't think for one second she has a thing to do with what happened... I can't wait to see what happens with these two. Now that ending had my mouth wide open 😮😮 Duke can't explain what's going on but I needs answers! Miss Koya came in hot can't wait to dive in to part 2!
I did enjoy this story, but I think a few times I got lost on which character was speaking because there were so many. And I’m not sure at the moment, if I have a favorite character. There’s a lot of moving parts and so much to unpack, I can’t wait to see how this turns out.
Whew! I loved everything about this book! Trappin done right!
BriAnn ateeee with the Preist brothers, Khrome, Krypt & Kavalli , all their storylines were gripping and I just wanted more! I typically don’t usually rush to read cliffhanger books but this one.. I downloaded book 2 ASAP!
A solid start to a series and it did not disappoint. I could connect with the characters in ways, even Milan. I’m glad this book showed real mental health issues and how it affects more than just the person who’s experiencing them. The cliff hanger was insane. I can’t imagine finding the series before it was completed lol i would have been losing my mind
These brothers are everything! But it’s Krypt for me!! That’s a King right there! From his relationship with his brother and Mom to how he stepped up and became a Big Brother to Vezzo. And we can’t forget how he exuded BDE when he showed up for Alora!!! My man, my man, my man 😍
Khrome is a gentle lover boy. I love how calm he always remained, no matter how nutty Milan wanted to act. All he wanted to do was take care of his baby girl Khemani. Listen, that ending had me stressed!! It’s unfortunate what happened to Milan; I wish she could’ve gotten the help she desperately needed. But I couldn’t even feel for her because WHERE IS KHEMANI?!? Also, I pray Khrome doesn’t blame himself for this.
Now on to the last brother Kavilli crazy ass!! This fool had me cracking up; he has no filter whatsoever 😂. His situation with Meka was getting on my nerves (all of you authors have to stop making these Meka’s in these books raggedy, I don’t like that 😂). Let me say I don’t think Dreeya set Kavilli up; she was set up or something. I hope he doesn’t do anything stupid.
That cliffhanger… 🤯🤯 Duke got some explaining to do!!
Entertaining from start to finish. So much happened on every page, so I was never bored. I can’t decide which brother is my favorite, let’s just say that I love them all as a whole. This book left me wanting to move straight into book 2!
Briann Danae definitely knows how to bring her characters to life by giving them so much personality. She pulls you into the character’s world, making you feel like you have a front row seat into the mess.
I loved it down! From the brotherly love, street talk, to the romance subplot, she nails it every time!
This was not what I was expecting based on all the reviews I saw for it but maybe that’s because it was always a review of the series and I just need to finish it. But there was a lot going on here and I prefer when the FMCs are more clearly defined. So as a romance (an assumption on my part) I didn’t love it but as a drama, it has my attention. I just didnt really develop any type of connection to the characters.
And a book with shifting POVs this really should have been tandem narration
Ghetto hot mess! Literally I wanted to dnf this book so bad but I like to finish what I start! The 3 bothers are literally no one’s book boyfriend, they disrespected women and the author should be ashamed to write this garbage
This was a fun, quick read! I liked all the brothers, and their personalities were very distinctive.
Ole girl, Milanj had me tight for most of this book with her crazy tail self. I did enjoy seeing how Khrome handled her, always remaining cool, calm and collected. I appreciated how he always kept it decent and thought about his daughter's peace and happiness above all else. His budding romance was also nice to see. Even though he was the youngest brother, he was thinking about all of their futures and handling business. I think I liked his personality the best.
Krypt, the oldest brother, was also very likable. Even though he had to grow up a little faster, I loved that he took his responsibilities and lifestyle very seriously and didn't take anything for granted. I enjoyed the romance between him and Alora and how gentle he was with her.
Kavalli, the middle brother, really had to grow on me. He was a hot head and playa with a lot of audacity. The gall of him to be judging and upset at ole girl for her actions, when he wasn't really about anything when he was dealing with her. I am glad that he settled down and sorted that mess out, and I'm hoping that he wasn't betrayed the way he thinks he was. I'm awaiting g my copy of the next book to get some answers.
And finally, Ms Koya. I had guessed correctly about her, and my girl sure knew how to make an entrance. I'm still on the fence about her though. We'll see what she's coming with in the next book.
Trappin’ Through The Snow (Trappin’ Series - Book 1) was a mediocre read. Foremost, there were numerous grammatical & typographical errors. Whether reading or listening this book, it’s a disruptive and frustrating experience. Thereafter, sometimes less is more. …fyi, keep it simple.Between the Priest parents, late Duke (for a deceased man his name was always present & he was a rolling stone 😂🥴) & Gina, sons: Krypt (Alora), Kavalli (Dreeya), Khrome (Milan & Selyse), female friends, friend w/ benefits (but no commitment 🤨⁉️), love interest past, present & potentials, associates, barbershop patrons etc. it was difficult to follow all of the events. More so, where is Khrome’s daughter (Khemani) ? Where is the seventeen year old sister (Bianca)? Why was Milan & her mother dependent on Khrome for her daughter’s mental stability? She obviously needed an intervention that Khrome nor a single person could provide. And how is it, that no one knew about Koya Priest. However the mama, kept the “K” theme going. … Hopefully these questions & more will get addressed in book 2.
Ok Krypt with Alora.. I see yall. Just friends huh?
Oop Kavalli got girl problems too 😆 bad ass.
I’m good bruh 😂😂😆
That’s why he really not fuckking with Meka because of the abortion.
Ok so Adria his A1
Oh Kavalli the wild one.. it’s always the young ones.
The relationship with their momma Gina is so cute.
Khrome the only daddy huh? Aw lil Kamoni.
Oh nah Mulan is crazy.. 😂 she acting a fool.
Lil Vezzo.. pinch your cheeks…
Krypt is my man my man
Oop. Getting touchy feebly with Alora are with Krypt.
Kavalli on one.. he ain’t have to do all that with her cousin 😂😂
Dang they got jacked..
How the hell Mulan come to the conclusion Khrome smashing the hair dresser.
Oopppppp nah Mulan on something .. that girl need a psych hospital. Especially having thought about hating that Khrome live their daughter more than here.
Ok Khrome getting with Salyss, freak dancing on the floorrrr.
Oop not the bastard sister!!

copious unnecessary adverbial phrases. doesn’t trust the reader to make inferences. lots of telling instead of showing. if the storylines were resolved by the end of the book I’d probably let the format go but this story lacks a happily ever after; ergo it isn’t a romance. i enjoyed the plot, the characters felt fleshed out and were clearly lovingly written, but this book suffers due to Danae’s poor writing. where is your editor?! this could’ve been so much better than it is if Danae’s editor did a better job. that’s if she even has an editor. tbh i’m pissed off. this is my first book by her and i probably won’t be back.
•••••••••
there’s also that note of the mentally ill character being a complete villain and committing SUICIDE at the end?! i have lots of questions about that…
There’s lowkey a lot to unpack in the book. To me, it started off a bit slow but quickly picked up. SO FAR, Khrome is my fav even though he should’ve been left Milan alone. I really hope she didn’t do anything crazy with their daughter.
The tap dancing Krypt and A was doing was getting on my nerves but I get, I guess. They didn’t want to cross the lines and mess up a friendship so we shall see where this goes.
Everyone loves Kavalli but I don’t know how to feel about him yet.
I am interested to see where Koya came from.
I’ll give it a 4.5 because I don’t know, it’s all over the place right now but I’m still entertained and enjoyed it.
I’ll be really honest the first few pages kind of made me feel it was centered on a brother till I realized it was all of them at once. Now I liked Dreeya and Kavali and to me? They carried the book. Also I liked how post natal depression and depressed as a whole is kind of mentioned although I think it wasn’t talked about too well and seemed kind of demonized till towards the end. Alora and Krypt seemed so distant it was hard to feel the chemistry and selyse, the plot twist and drama and all made me hyped up. The plot twist at the send really took a new turn, it was slow towards the beginning and so fast towards the end so looking forward to book 2.
This audiobook is 🔥. The narrators had me feeling like I’m in this world! Midnight Michael and Lauryn Nichols ya did that!
The beginning was alittle hard to follow with all 3 brothers and the POV’s switching mid-chapters but once I meet everyone baby I was locked in. Ms Gina you and Duke raised some good men. We don’t talk about These Priest Men enough. Kavalli gives little brother energy. He’s the comic relief. Some of the stuff he says 🤭🤣 I’m running to book 2 just some thoughts:
Nope .. cause why Kavalli; Dreeya doesn’t get the benefit of doubt 🤦🏽♀️ Milan 💔 Where is Khemani? Khrome what you gonna do- this man is a lover boy I love Alora & Krypt 🥰
There was definitely a lot happening. Like A LOT! I’m curious about how the author will slim some of these story lines down for the remainder of the series.
I will say, I didn’t have a difficult time tracking each storyline. But some of them seem unnecessary or could be remedied and moved on from.
Now this Koya situation was odd, so I’m really curious on where this is going.
The ending was shocking 🤦🏾♀️! I’m happy for krypt and alora for taking a step further, hopefully they will actually have a relationship. Mani momma really needed to see someone about her mental health and I think it’s fair to make khrome feel bad because he didn’t want a relationship with her. He was free to move on with life and date other ppl because they wasn’t together anymore. I hope he can recover from this pain and also find his baby girl 😫
I love the Priest brothers & how they are such a close family! They all fit into their roles perfectly. Like you can tell Krypt is the oldest & Kavalli is definitely the youngest 🤣 I enjoy seeing Krypt & Alora together and hopefully they expand their relationship to more than just friends. Idk what Kavalli & Dreeya got going on 😂 definitely some toxicity there! & Khrome is such an amazing man & father! Hopefully Milan gets the help she needs & leave Khrome alone cause baby he don’t want you!
My girl has done it again. I’m so locked in with the Priest Family after reading this book. I love how Briann throws in a crazy man that’s funny as hell. Kavalli had me laughing so hard at his comebacks. My favorite brother is Krypt. I love how he wants to get out the game, get married and raise a family. The storyline is good and I was shocked at a few events that took place. Now let me start book two and get off this cliff.
Writing in third person from multiple POVs and many characters is tricky to accomplish. BriAnn got it though! Once I had everyone’s name and situation down, I was in it!! The characters and plot kept me so entertained I couldn’t put the book down. So naturally, I’m about to open the next book.
So so good! Hate I waiting to so long to read it but lowkey glad I didn’t so don’t have to wait on part 2. The ending was a shock but something in the beginning gave me “what if” vibes . I can’t wait to see how this plays out.
This book has lots of twist and turns. Interesting characters and a good story line. I really like how the author built the story around the family and the cliff hanger has me excited to read the next book.
I was so sick of Milan but mental illness is real. I love how the brothers treat the women in their lives. Idk why but I had a feeling Duke was not dead, I’m ready for Gina and the other brothers to find out.
