Fast Paced

Awesome book! this was really fantastic in how the story developed.

The characters were strong and easy to relate to. Plus the pace of the book what was at Top Speed.

I recommend.

Great apocalyptic thriller!

Lost Light is much like I would expect life during an apocalypse derived from an EMP would be. Terrifying and cruel for almost everyone. There is quite a bit of action and danger with a few heart-breaking moments. The main characters were fairly realistic, flawed people. It does need a little proofing but, for the most part I was able to ignore the mistakes.

Interesting storyline, however, a good proofreader would help the story flow smoother. Some events, particularly injuries inflicted without resulting in death, are somewhat unbelievable.

This is almost good, but there are just too many unbelievable things going on. Maybe someone could get shot twice in the back and survive, but to have a basically untrained person remove the bullets, in a dirty environment, no antibiotics to take afterwards.... OK.
Then, somebody rips your eyeball out, you just keep going.
Or, someone has half his arm ripped off, loses a kidney and a lung, and they're o.k., even though there's no electricity, no hospitals, no nothing, but, hey you're tough.
That's not even half of the stupidity. Not sure why I'm giving it 3 stars.

This could be a reality in our life time. While there was so much hope for the characters, I became overly critical of them after I read the words "assault rifle". No one that owns and AR-15 would call it that. No one in the gun world would call it that.
Let's see, a gang is after Gage, he hears they are in a nearby town. He rides into the town on a horse right down main street. This is after is he supposed to be trained by his military father. Then Julie comes rushing into same town in a tricked out armored vehicle. The two leave the vehicle with keys in it, to argue while standing in middle of street where said enemies are! Enemies steal vehicle.
The story had such potential and then eye roll after eye roll started!~

EMP decimates much of the world but not humanity itself.

The EMP may have destroyed the Power Grids around the most powerful country in the world but it was powerless to destroy the goodness and determination of the community that came together to fight the Evil forces that did their best to take over the world.

very good emp story

This book submitted a realistic possibility of gang warfare after an Emp hits a major American city along with the rest of the country. It was a different take on preparedness.

😨 scary

I was disappointed in Brock's role and lost confidence in his ability to get the job done. Julie, was aggressive in fighting and protecting her children from harm. We may all have to face challenges like that soon.
