Renowned Bible teacher and #1 New York Times bestselling author Joyce Meyer shows readers how to not just survive but thrive amidst both the everyday and the monumental messes we experience in life.
Life is often messy. We hear people say, “My life is a mess,” or “This situation is a mess.” What they mean is that life has become difficult, painful or confusing. But God never promised us a trouble-free life. In fact, His Word tells us to expect the opposite. In John 16:33, Jesus says, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (NIV).
In Blessed in the Mess, beloved Bible teacher Joyce Meyer shows us how to be blessed in the midst of life’s most challenging circumstances. The Bible is filled with instructions on how to handle ourselves when difficulty comes our way, and Blessed in the Mess shares that wisdom through poignant and practical teaching that equips us to remain stable and hopeful in every situation. No matter what problems we may face, there is a way to remain joyful and patient as God works on them. If you have not handled the messy issues or challenges in your life well in the past, then with God's help, you can begin to manage them better, starting now.
We should never waste our pain. Through the wisdom distilled in this book, we can learn how to gain something from our messes, use those insights to avoid trouble in the future, and share our experiences to help other people find blessings in the midst of their messes. A study guide as well as a Spanish edition, Bendición en el desorden, are also available for purchase.

Nobody’s life is perfect. If it was and we had no adversity, it would kind of be a little boring, don’t you think?
I’ve had my share of messes. But learning to lean on God during those troubled times helped it not be as difficult as it could be otherwise.
Meyer leads us through dealing with our messy lives in a positive and uplifting manner in this new release. I love her stories and her analogies. Plus, I love the fact that she always ties everything to the perfect versus supporting her message.
There’s such peace in her writing that you become confident that you have better tools to deal with the next set of issues that pop up weekly, if not daily sometimes.
Blessed in This Mess also has a beautiful cover and it offers a really strong message on how to move forward with peace and grace while leaning on God‘s word.
Comforting and uplifting, this book is perfect for anyone who needs to hear how to manage life in a complex world. Meyer always brings us straightforward and beautiful words of wisdom. ~~~~~~ * I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I am a huge Joyce Meyer fan and have read quite a number of her books, however, THIS is my FAVOURITE 🤩 (so far!)
“But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.” 2 Corinthians 2:14 NIV
I highly recommend this book to everyone and anyone. It is so powerful, yet accessible to all.
I'm reading this book for a fourth or fifth time. It is absolutely amazing and wonderful and fantastic. 1 of the best books Joyce has written lately. I had been looking forward to it since I heard about it and it really helped me the first time I read it. I've given it to several people as well. It is absolutely amazing and every time I read it! Better and better than the first time!
This was such a great read! I really enjoyed this book on how we can be blessed even through the mess in our lives.
Joyce Meyer is such a wonderful teacher of gods word and I really enjoyed reading this book so much! Her books never fail to disappoint and she is always so inspiring.
In Blessed in the Mess, Joyce Meyer has written a brand-new book about how to blessed in the middle of all of the chaos and trouble in life we experience. We will all face challenging times throughout our entire lives. Jesus explained in His word that we would all have tribulation but we can rest assure in the fact that He has overcome the world. This book will teach readers how we can still be blessed in the mist of our messes. She looked at the Beatitudes that Jesus taught on and broke them all down to where readers can understand the passages and she tries to help readers to want to rise up and have good moral excellence.
In the book, she shared with readers how she was sexually abused by her father. He was very controlling and angry all the time. He would ignore his son and would beat her mother. She grew up constantly living in fear of what could happen. Her mother knew of the sexually abuse that her own daughter was enduring and she did nothing to stop it. She later admitted that she couldn’t deal with the scandal on incest. Her father told her he was doing the abuse because he loved her. No one would help her and she learned how to survive it. When she was nine, she was visiting her aunt and uncle and they took her to church. She knew she wanted to be saved and that she was a sinner. She received Christ and was born again. She didn’t have any teachings to help her grow spiritually. She shared how she thought that once she sinned again that she lost her salvation and she would desperately try and become back into good graces. It took her many years until she was freedom from that thinking and she was able to grow deeper into Christ and His teachings.
She also revealed how she married at 18 years old after meeting a guy on a blind date. They were married for about 5 years and he would regularly disappear. She would always take him back. He was arrested and con people. She shared how she married him because she was desperate to escape her home life. She ended up having a miscarriage and later had a son. Her husband left her again at that time and went to live with another woman and claimed the kid wasn’t his. She lost 35 pounds instead of gaining weight when she was her carrying her son. This was one of the darkest times, she has ever had to go through. We can be reminded that God promises to give us treasures and hidden riches so that we will know He is the God of Israel. Her son later grew up to become David and CEO of Hand of Hope at Joyce Meyer Ministries. This program goes a lot of good serving others. God was able to redeem and restore. She also shared how she met Dave and started her ministry.
I would recommend this awesome book by Joyce to readers who are beaten down by life and they feel like there world is just in a plain mess. This resource will assist readers into having hope again and to discover their blessings in the middle of their mess. I loved how she wrote this book at 80 years old and it was very well written! I think this book is one of the best materials from her and it contained astonishing teaching to help readers. I loved how she also included personal stories throughout the book about how they deal with their own messes in their lives. One of the these included, Katie Piper and how she had acid thrown on her face from a hitman hired by a man she had dated. Another one discussed the king and spider and how a spider taught him the importance about never giving up and having patient. All the stories are inspirational and will provide readers with much needed encouragement. One of my favorite topics was steps on how to maintain a good attitude. This is powerful if readers will just remember them whenever life doesn’t go like we planned. I also loved the study of the Beatitudes and what rewards we can expect from God. I think this book would be a wonderful book to read weekly again to study the material presented to let it get reinforced into your daily life.
"I received this book free from the publisher, Hachette Book Group/Faithwords for my honest review.”
Blessed In The Mess by Joyce Meyers is exactly what I needed to read. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to review this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I have been my mom’s caregiver for the last seven years. Through this book I saw myself as one of the Israelites complaining and grumbling, asking forgiveness, and then repeating the same pattern over and over. God sent me blessings but I was so consumed with thinking of what my siblings were not doing instead of what I should be doing I missed so many of them. We all are tested and sometimes we have to keep taking the same test over and over until we pass it. Life is not fair, but God makes wrong things right at the right time. This book is about learning to go through life’s trials and difficulties by trusting and drawing closer to God. It’s about teaching us how to go through life situations and look for the blessings by praying, learning God’s word, and knowing God is good and faithful.
No one gets out of this life without trials or facing hardships. John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have OVERCOME the world.” Oftentimes in our mess we focus on the wrong things and miss the blessing because we are inundated with the why’s, and miss out on the good God will bring through it. God doesn’t ask us to understand but to trust Him. When we focus more on the problem than the problem solver, we lose our way and problems overtakes us. In this book, Meyers shares tools on how on how to handle life’s difficulties. TRUSTING GOD even when we don’t understand, praying and believing He will hear us being steady minded, paying a attention to our thoughts/emotions, and having patience.
I will definitely purchase a hard copy and share with friends.
I received this book as a gift. Truly, the person was inspired by the Holy Spirit to buy it and give it to me. My 2023 was a whole lot of a mess. I was at the end of my studies, preparing for my final exams, when the most unexpected thing happened and deep bitterness entered my life. It took and still takes time to process everything that happened and to forgive everyone that hurt me. But Joyce’s book truly helped me. And I’m deeply thankful for having received and read “Blessed in the Mess”.
Everything we have to go through serves a purpose and at the end we receive a reward and a (double) blessing. Trials, troubles, and messes will always be part of our lives. We cannot run from them or avoid them in any way. Our attitude and perception matter, because even the biggest mess can be a blessing if we perceive it like that. So, stay positive, be faithful, be humble, and have hope.

This book was the start of my path to god. I started this book when I was in a place where everything in my life was falling apart. Everything was broken. I realize that I needed to heal, and I need to let go of the things that prevented me from healing. This book was a slow, slow read. I started in December of 2023. This book opened my eyes and my heart. 6 stars. I feel like there are a lot of people, christian and non christian, who need this book.
Love some Joyce Meyer. Many of her statements are not profound, but neither are the life lessons we sometimes need to hear and fail to see. I enjoy an inspirational/ Christian read to start my day, and this book satisfied that desire.
Blessed in The Mess: How to Experience God's Goodness in the Midst of Life's Pain by Joyce Meyer is the latest release from an author who has written over 140 books. That is a LOT of books!
Many people today say they are in the middle of a mess or their life is a mess. That may be true but Meyer reminds us that we are never in a mess alone. God is with us.
Blessed in the Mess+is divided into three parts. The first part, God Can Bless Your Mess, is where Meyer explains what she sees as messes in our world today. She also shares what she sees as blessings amidst the messes. She shares a lot of her own stories here and throughout the book, but she also shares from the Bible too.
In Part Two, Living a Bless Life, Meyer talks about how to choose to be blessed as well as how to remain patient, grateful and trusting of God in the midst of your mess.
In Part Three, Meyer focuses on the Beatitudes, which she calls the Keys to Blessing. In this section, she teaches from The Beatitudes in the Bible and shares just what and where those verses area, as well as how they bless us today. These blessings are character qualities that are best displayed in mature Christians.
Blessed in The Mess is a fairly long book that is packed full of good information if you are struggling through a modern-world mess and wondering where God is. Meyer has struggled through many messes herself and shares her stories throughout the book. If like me, you have read many of her books, then some of these stories may sound familiar as she has used some of them in books before. Still, they are good illustrations and may bear repeating. She also pulls right from the Bible and teaches verses and stories that work well in this book. Blessed in the Mess is well-written. Meyer always speaks plainly and I think she is easy to understand and relate to.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions of this book are my own.
Blessed in the Mess by Joyce Meyer was released in the fall of 2023. This book offers helpful advice on navigating problems with a positive attitude, providing perspective on how to handle various circumstances. Can you do it with a good attitude while also trusting God?

My Thoughts:
I loved this book! I spent a lot of time with this book. I found the message of this book brings hope to all. The study guide, which can be purchased in addition to this book, supports the book well. I would suggest using either a Bible app or a physical Bible while studying these principles. I didn’t receive the study guide until I was halfway through reading the book so I would do that differently.
Blessed in the Mess stands as an inspiring masterpiece of Christian living, penned by the esteemed author Joyce Meyer. With her exceptional writing prowess and unparalleled biblical wisdom, Meyer has rightfully earned her place among the most distinguished New York Times bestselling authors and revered Bible teachers of our time.
In this compelling book, the author explores the powerful concept of finding blessings even amidst life’s most formidable challenges. With unwavering conviction, she illuminates the path to maintaining unshakable joy and unwavering patience as we navigate through our trials. She profoundly asserts that our adversities can ultimately become the very catalysts that transform our lives and empower us to inspire others.

“Blessed in the Mess” by Joyce Meyer embraces life’s messiness and offers a message of hope and spiritual growth. Meyer’s writing style is consistent with her previous works, delivering practical guidance for navigating difficult times.
This book challenges me to seeing the blessings while in a mess and being thankful God is beside me and will see me through until the end. Just as Jesus says in John 16:33 (NKJV) “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Experiencing messes in life enables us to learn and grow, and to share our experiences with others, as they may be going through similar messes and be inspired by your joy. This guiding book reveals how we can thrive rather than just survive our hard and messy experiences.

#CoverLoverBookReview received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions are 100% mine.
Joyce Meyer always shares herself in her books. For me, that is one of the best things about them. She never comes across as a person who lives a perfect life and feels the need to make the rest of us somehow feel lacking. Even after many years as a Christian, she isn't afraid to tell the world she still has struggles living the way she knows she should.
I feel as if every book I read by her helps me in many ways. One of the best things I got from this book was a reminder of how important our words are. How not to use negative language when talking about our struggles. Moreover, Joyce shares how this was a difficult lesson for her and how she still slips sometimes.
This is another 5 star book. I'd recommend anything Joyce writes.
Meyer states that no matter what trials a person is having, if they stay true and faithful to what The Bible says and follow God, the struggles can be sometimes less stressful, but also, build a bigger faith. She uses Bible examples from the book of James, which states that troubles will come, but they test Christians and make them stronger, to looking at Jesus' life as well, especially when Satan tried to tempt him in the wilderness, to the Israelites who complained while leaving Egypt, Paul and Silas in jail, and a great illustration of a tale about Robert The Bruce about not giving up. Thank you so much for this book. I have learned so much. I have gained strategies to overcome the message in my life. I have understood why we go through message and I desire to go through it if I have to so that I can get a greater reward for my difficulty. I have also learned that i must be cheerful while I go through the mess. I have learned that I am an overcomer of the difficulties because Jesus overcame.
I will use a lot of this material to teach my community online. God bless you Mama Joyce I pray that one day I will have to meet you personally.
Of course, I loved this book. As a huge Joyce Meyer fan and a 90's graduate of her ministry, my library overflows with her Biblical wisdom and practical life experience. Blessed in the Mess could be the theme of my life and so many others! This book can be summed up with, "No matter what unpleasant circumstances we may face, if we remain patient, trust God, and stay positive, we can enjoy life while He [God] works on our problems." I recommend this new book for anyone who can relate to "Blessed in the Mess!"
I'm currently walking through a tough, tough season with my faith being challenged and this book couldn't have been read at a better time. There is a beautiful ethnicity to knowing that someone that came out on the other side stayed the course and came out "on top" just keeping Jesus at the center. While my struggles are different then hers, it is easy to connect with. No matter how many books Joyce writes, it always remains relavent to the reader. A wonderful read when you truly are in the mess.
This book was right on time for me: I started reading it in April when my husband and I decided to split ways. Then I lost my 2 uncles, then a cousin, my younger sister 🥰🥰, then my aunt, now a high school friend. This book took me forever to get through, but i laughed, cried, and talked to God. I know I am Blessed in my Mess and still very sad. The thing I know is that I can get up everyday knowing that I am not alone and that if I apply and have the Beatitudes God rewards those who diligently seeks him.
Blessed in the Mess was an uplifting read. Meyer's practical wisdom offer insights that spoke directly to my heart. I found new nuggets of wisdom while reading this book, which lifted my spirit and soothed my mind. In today’s world, books like this are essential for finding peace amid the chaos. This is exactly the kind of book I needed, bringing comfort and reminding me of the power of faith in the messiest moments of life.
Joyce Meyer writes another wonderful encouraging book! I love how she sprinkles Scripture throughout the book. She talks a lot about how our challenges are determined by our perspective. We must remember as believers to keep biblical perspective in and during our trials because God works things out for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose(Romans 8:28)! God uses everything we have been through to encourage others and sanctify us!
In Joyce Meyer's "Blessed in the Mess: How to Experience God's Goodness in the Midst of Life's Pain," Meyer attempts to tackle a delicate and difficult topic. Being blessed amid the mess is a challenge. Even for the most well-versed Christians. But Meyer does a decent job of providing practical applications for readers and doing so with examples.
I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. Thank you Joyce Meyer for another amazing book filled with so much information to help anyone in their walk with Christ. Thank you for helping me to understand that life is so full of messes but everything has a blessing in it!!!
encouraging book that shows how we can find peace and blessings even in life’s struggles. Meyer shares practical advice and biblical wisdom to help us trust God during tough times. She reminds us that while life can be messy, God is always with us and can bring growth and joy through our challenges.
Another life giving book my Joyce Meyer. I always appreciate the way that the author explains practical ways that a person can apply scripture to their lives. I also love how she challenges without shaming. I recommend this one to those who need some encouragement to press on.
