I’m promised to the head of the Emmerico family, but I want his brother…
My duty in life is to marry. For my family. For the safety only a marriage could bring, but weeks before my wedding, I meet a stranger in a club. I do something reckless for once in my life and kiss the most gorgeous man in the room.
I can’t forget his face. His lips. Everything about him is pressed into my memory.
When I’m standing at the altar in my sparkling white dress, my groom introduces me to his brother. The same man I kissed only weeks ago and his smirk tells me he always knew who I was.
I try to forget him—it doesn’t work because he wants me to remember.
I try to love my new husband—that fails too, because he is cruel and his brother protects me.
Wanting my brother in law is forbidden, and we could tear our families apart.
But I can’t stop.
This is an arranged marriage, mafia, steamy romance with possessive males who won’t give up their girl. Recommended for mature readers only. This is a trilogy.

Honestly this was not that great. It had good bones but just didn’t make it as a good novel. But it ended on a cliff hanger so naturally I downloaded the next 2 books.
The word kid drove me crazy ,Theo used it ever second all the time ....and her asking questions and the families just pouring out answers like it's common ......it had a immature feel to it .Kind of like it was wrote by a early twenty year old or someone that just got out if schooling. I did not enjoy this one at all and other that the above reasons I can't put my finger on why . Just 2 unrealistic.
This book left me with very confused feelings. In one way idea was really good, but lack of proper plot development make it pretty annoying to read, loads of things simply doesn’t make sense here. First of all constant names mixed up, had to reread some pages to understand what’s going on… Sudden feelings between Theo and Vivian was out of place. Yes they was very friendly with each other from beginning, but there was no feelings development in between them being friendly to being inlove , it just come kinda out of nowhere. They way Theo was open with Vivian seemed out of place, yeah he liked her but he didn’t knew her and in the world like this it’s hard to believe someone in position as Theo would spill all the beans so easily for outsider who could be spying for her family. There wasn’t enough Lucas in this book, I absolutely don’t understand his character, he was placed there to be not liked , villain of book, yet he was hardly mentioned . Theo interference in their marriage was a bit annoying, why does he thinks he has right to tell husband not to touch his wife. Yes I know it wasn’t done in right way but still the way he interfered was out of place, he absolutely can’t control his emotions and again in world like this that seems odd. If there would’ve been proper feelings development between main characters, book could’ve been much better. Now most of it was simply weird to read. Vivian’s character was extremely naive and sheltered . She didn’t seemed like someone who grew up in world surrounded by mobs, she acted like she’s completely from different world who’s been sheltered from mobs and how their world works. And let’s not start about ending , it wasn’t even good cliffhanger, it just confusing. 0 interest in reading next book
This book is giving… mafia wattpad vibes. I like the plot but the writing just wasn’t there for me. Plus the author mixed up the MMCs names at one point.
"The family comes first. Now and always." That's how Vivian Dalton ended up in an arranged marriage to Lucas Emmerico. Strengthening families and upping their status. Tattered Lies is book 1 in this trilogy and is an intense, gritty story that ends on a cliffhanger. It's very well written and intriguing with so many secrets, surprises, twists, turns and betrayals. Vivian and Lucas are thrown together whether they want it or not. Nothing in common, feeling nothing for each other, simply an arrangement. Then there's Theo, Lucas's brother. He's definitely a different story as far as Vivian is concerned. This author has brought an excellent story that will consume you from the beginning.
Originally got this book from SYKD…. And I am so glad it got this book. • Ya’ll I love me a god mafia as much as the next girlie but this book right here was so good. What makes it good is that even though it’s 161 pages you still get all the action and drama. • So basically Tattered Lies follows Vivian Dalton is put in an arranged marriage to Lucas Emmerico to create an alliance between the two families. But unknown to Vivian she see that mystery man she met a year before the wedding. This book has everything a morally grey mafia man, strong female character; who doesn’t let her father control her, London mafia and a forbidden relationship. • Can’t wait to go straight into book 2!
In this book Vivian is daughter of a mafia boss. She knows that will be getting married soon. She wishes she was able to do things that other girls do. So one night after her father leaves she escapes to a club. She meets a stranger and kisses him. A year later at her wedding she meets the stranger and he’s her new brother in law. She is embarrassed and upset that he never said anything. To make matters worse her new husband leaves on a business trip and assigns his brother Theo to watch her. This book doesn’t have a lot of mafia action in it. It is a slow burn romance with Theo and Vivian. The book ends in a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read what happens next. This was a very enjoyable book.
This is this first in a new trilogy, and my word, I cannot wait to read the next book. Vivial puts family before all else and is going into an arranged marriage with Lucas, to strengthen family ties. Finding out the stranger she kissed a few weeks before her wedding brings her face to face with Theo, the grooms brother. This is a well written story which is raw, gritty, intense, and intriguing, with family, twists, betrayal, emotions, drama, and is a steamy and addictive page turner. The plot is good but because it’s a short book it lacks the details in major events and 🌶️ scenes are rushed and not very spicy. Will continue as I am invested enough in the story and characters! This trilogy should have just been the one book or if kept as a trilogy give way more detail in the action scenes and spicy scenes. After Theo started falling in love with Vi he should have come up with another nickname “kid” is strange to call someone you love and sleep with.
Okay enough for me to get through it and be slightly entertained, but won’t be continuing the series.
Not much character development. I wish there could’ve been more yearning, or at least more seen into Theo and Vivian’s relationship when they were developing feelings. Lucas should’ve been more involved in some way as well. In general, with some more detail and fluffing, could be a really good read.

4 ⭐️ 3 🌶️ The book was so good but being so short, I feel as though it lacked some details… like there could have been more interaction between the two main characters because I felt as if they just jumped right in. Other than that though, I did very much enjoy this book. I actually loved that it ends in a cliff hanger, as it makes me that much more eager to read the next two books.
It was a decent book and kept me entertained for the most part but one thing that gives me the biggest ick is Theo constantly calling Vivian kid, like it’s just weird. If their families are apart of the biggest crime families in London why are they letting everyone know their business, some parts are just confusing.

I just binged read this book faster than I've read a book in ages. You know the books where you skip a few words because you're too excited to see what happens next? This is one of those books. Great read. Five stars.
In this book Vivian is daughter of a mafia boss. She knows that will be getting married soon. She wishes she was able to do things that other girls do. She is embarrassed and upset that he never said anything. To make matters worse her new husband leaves on a business trip and assigns his brother Theo to watch her. My opinion of this book is that it’s good but ends on a cliffhanger. Vivian and Theo love each other but at the end Lucas psycho ass goes mad at them and Vivian takes a bullet for Theo and Lucas says that Theo has gone mad and he’s been taken care of which makes no since because Lucas is the mad one. The only ICK I have about this is the constant saying of “kid” from Theo it’s a okay nickname but it just doesn’t need to be said that many times. I feel like Violet (the sister of Vivian) is jealous that she didn’t get married off first and she’s going to be married off to Theo but Theo is not going to let that happen he tells Vivian and I don’t know what’s going to happen in book 2 but I’m here for the story.
Super fast paced and the female lead is annoying to be honest. Not a fan of Theo calling her Kid all the time, it got a bit weird. Not too interested in reading the next part but we will see.
This was a wild ride and I was not expecting that ending. Yikes! What a cliffhanger. Vivian is stuck in an arranged marriage to a man who she doesn’t love and hardly knows. Her only solace is his brother. I can’t really go into more without spoiling it. I guess I’ll have to start book two!
I enjoyed Lucas & Vivian’s book. It was an intriguing book. Can’t wait to find out what happens in the next book as it ends on a cliffy. And am voluntarily leaving my review.
