Just when I thought it couldn’t possibly get any better, Autumn Archer proves me wrong! Hostile Vows is book 3 in the Souza Cartel series that follows Tomas’ brother Andre and his love interest, Sinead. If you thought you loved Carina and Tomas then you clearly have not read Hostile Vows yet! Sinead is pure love. I adore her so much! She is the type of FMC that can stand next to her beau. Not behind and not infront. She is a badass in the making and I’m all for it! I can’t wait to see what she does in book 4!

Hold on tight because I almost fell off my seat with that double whammy at the end. Your heart will be racing, in more ways than one. Andre is definitely my favorite brother! He is just chefs kiss. He definitely brings the heat and steam up a few notches. This does end on cliffhanger that sadly will keep you up at night.

Spice level (1-5): 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Kink level (1-3): ⛓️⛓️ Shibari, D/s-esque, etc

I’d recommend Hostile Vows to all fans of mafia/cartel romances with lots of kink. If you love your MMC dark and a little blood thirsty and a badass in the making FMC, you’ll love Hostile Vows. Read the trigger warnings. There are some that are standard with the genre, including but not limited to: unaliving, gore, drugs and alcohol abuse (by MMC), mistreatment of women, human trafficking (mentioned), tumultuous relationship with a parent. For all the readers of mafia/cartel, marriage of convenience, and morally grey MMC, this one is for you.

Warning: Reading Hostile Vows may make you want your own Cartel boyfriend. May make you want to speak with an Irish accent. May make you want to learn how to tie proper knots. May make you look at candles differently. May make you take self defense classes. May make you think you are a badass. May make you want to win a spouse in a card game. Read responsibly.

Oh my poor little heart…!! These Souza men are getting hotter by the book! I was so looking forward to Andrè from the moment we met him first in Tomas’ book it was clear that he does exactly as he pleases, when he pleases and with whomever he wants!!…..so it’s no surprise that this duet is shaping up to be fantastic!

Hot, steamy, alpha angst with a firecracker female lead in Sinead.
This author pulls you in with her writing skill and tempts you constantly with twists, turns and page scorching chemistry.
I’m so looking forward to their conclusion and more of these Souza brothers!

Wow, how this book left me hanging for more. André is one dirty talking and filthy action man.

He is absolutely sexy and thrilling and 110% dangerous, but hell, if I didn't want to look away for a second.

Sinéad is absolutely not someone to mess with either. This half Irish born woman doesn't take sh*t from anyone but completely and utterly blackmail and backed into a corner and trying to save her mammy she has zero choice but to agree with the marriage being forced upon her.

André and Sinéad were once best friends, but times have changed, and they have changed. André is going to use the opportunity to get back the girl he once knew.

These two are EXPLOSIVE, HOLY HELL. I need a cool shower after reading this book. André and Sinbad are unbelievable together, and I can't wait to read on for the next book.

Hostile vows was dangerously sexy, steamy, angsty, full of suspense, and had one hell of a cliff hanger, so hold onto your hats guys. This will be a f*cking ride. One you will enjoy!

Finally Andre! I love that he got his own book! This was super spicy and I read it all in one go (due to said spiciness). It ends on a cliffhanger so be forewarned!! I can’t wait to get to the next book. This is definitely a must read from an alpha, alpha man. Woof alpha man…yes please. Great plot, great spice, divine man, chefs kiss.

Amazing is one way to describe this book, it was also dark, twisted, intense, breathtaking, full of angst, and so much more. Sin and Andre's relationship started as children and they found each other again after her life changed, and not for the better. She fought him every step of the way but that never stops a man from getting what he wants. This is a definite must read .

Uh, can I have the rest now? Seriously. To leave me hanging like that is borderline cruel! And yet…it works perfectly for this story. Sinéad and André aren’t a pretty tale of sunshine and rainbows. They’re dark, gritty, angry, possibly destined for death, and somehow they still sucked me in and had me hoping for the best. Even when cruelty is the way to defend their hearts (one more than the other), or when lies need to be sorted from the truth, I desperately want happy ever after for them. I want the person or persons responsible for this misery I’m left with to pay. So very much.

So now I wait. Giovanni has entered the scene. He’s possibly Sinéad’s only support and ally right about now. André is who knows where. And vengeance is definitely coming. I need to know who spills what, who’s behind all of this, and who we can trust. Fast.

This dark cartel mafia romance is part of the Souza cartel series. I love the Hostile World Series and Andre and Sinead’s story is a fabulous continuation of the Souza family. Andre and Sinead were childhood best friends. After a 20 year absence Andre “rescues” Sinead by forcing a marriage. Their relationship is fiery, lust filled and challenging with explosive chemistry. There is a formidable foe and all kinds of mafia hostilities. This page turning story captured my attention right to the heart pounding cliff hanger ending. I absolutely can't wait for the continuation of their story in Hostile Bond! I received a free copy of this book via Book sprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book was AMAZING! I don’t know which parts I loved more the undeniable tension between Sinead and Andre is explosive and all encompassing. I love both of them and want them to find their happy place! I loved all the violence and intrigue.
As much as I was hoping this book didn’t end on a cliffhanger….it did and I’m already impatient for the next one!
I’ve read an Autumn Archer novel before so I knew I liked her writing but this one was intense!

This is a new to me author and Hostile Vows is the beginning of a fantastic adventure!  This is a great friends to enemies to lovers forced marriage story that is non stop heat.
Andre' and Sinead are freakin explosive together. She's fierce and sassy and he's completely enamored even though he really doesn't want to be. They were best friends years ago. Now, they're like oil and water.
"The tides of change have turned us into different people." Hostile Vows ends in a cliffhanger and I can't wait for the rest of Andre and Sinead's story.

Everyone needs to read this book . Oh my goodness my emotions flew from one to the other , over & over again .

This book blew me away , it held me captive , it took me over completely.

This is André and Sinéad’s story , there is love in violence, and violence in love with this couple .

André was born into this life , and unbeknownst to Sinéad , so was she . She is the only one that can subdue the beast inside of him , but she can’t control him ……. No one can , and when someone comes for them it will be an all out war .

This is a must read

3.25 overall rating - children with a history who meet again years' later

This author writes about dangerous, often times psychopathic MMC who by the end of the book or series finds some redemption. Andre is Tomas's brother and was first introduced to me in Carina and Tomas' series. The story was good with a solid plot and storyline, decent editing, but I never felt a connection or was invested in Andre's character. His character is a drug user (ick) and drinks making his moods unpredictable and difficult to read. His character possess' a darkness that can rise to the surface without too much provocation. He has very erratic tendencies that are very difficult to grasp as he straddles the fence between sadism and psychopathic. There were times in the story when killing Sinead (not intentionally) could have easily happened whether it be by bullet or other means.

His is a complete narcassistic who demands complete submission of a woman whether it's in bed or day to day. The tattoo on her ring finger didn't scream "love story" but was more like branding her by telling the world she was his. He's really into punishment which includes using sex as a weapon which resulted in too much love-hate-sex for my taste. Problems don't get fixed by having sex all the time. He loved pushing Sinead's boundaries with punishment. There were a few sex scenes that felt as though they were building a relationship only to have it blow up later in the book. The sex would have been more meaningful if Andre's character didn't play the game of "do I love her or hate her " and use sex as a way of manipulating Sinead. He constantly fought his moods and feelings for Sinead who knew how to push Andre's buttons, i.e., heart, mind, conscious and soul; but also knew how to deescalate many situations where he is out of control. He feared that she was capable of "throwing him off his game". He often jumped to conclusions with little room for the opportunity for Sinead to respond. His character had moments of rational thinking and actions, but weren't enough.

Sinead was a pawn between two men that both wanted something from her. Both wanted to further their crime families wealth and power. Her crazy schizophrenic father was a demon that should have been put down in this book, but wasn't. His evil mind games permeated throughout this book building on how crazy and demonic he was.

Sinead was a feisty character with a strong sense of survival and fortitude that was no wilting flower. Her only downfall was when she fell in love with Andre and told him she loved him only to have him not respond, in kind. Ouch! He wanted sex and to possess and protect her, but was unable to recognize that he loved her. Sinead's character went through allot in this book, but hope she rises above all the ashes in the next book to find her happy place.

Her character is why I continue to read this duet. Carina and Tomas' series was also a tumultuous read of good vs., bad with Carina going through allot before finally finding her happy place. The author does a good job of writing stories in the genre with strong MFC, instead of women that become spineless Barbie Dolls when they experience orgasms'. Sex is an important part of these stories, but shouldn't control the narrative.

Hostile Vows is a duet with a HEA in the second book. It's a dark cartel romance that includes scenarios and references which may act as a trigger to some readers. A full-length steamy novel with no cheating and ends on a cliffhanger. This is Andre and Sinead story. It's extremely well written with engaging characters and twisty storyline that captures your attention from start and keeps you hooked and on the edge of your seat with it's non-stop twists and turns and suspense. Hostile Vows is set in the criminal underworld where deals are made for power, mafia princesses are traded or use as pawn for financial gains or revenge.
There's what to expect in this story secret, lies, lust, enemies, forced marriage, forced proximity, suspense, drama, danger, violence, friends-to-enemies-lovers, hate-to-love, pawn, power exchange, twists and turns, revelations, action packed, power play, friendship, threats, fear, second chance romance, suspense, mystery, anger, darkness, debasement, pain, betrayal, human trafficking, bloodshed, tension, power games, emotions, angst, surprises, murder, drug and alcohol abuse, heartache, madness, loss, greed, power and control, pain, dark mafia cartel romance, adventure, steam, humor, survival, love, family issues, opposite attracts, broken promise sprinkled with passion.
Autumn Archer does it again! With this decadent, pulse-pounding, thrilling and sizzling hot read that kept me glued to the pages. Andre and Sinead are magic together. I loved every word! Addictive and unputdownable. Andre Souza and Sinead Sapori had been childhood friends years ago back in Ireland and has made promises to each. But then one day she disappeared without a word or a trace. Fast forward twenty years later they meet again by coincidence and she was engaged to a billionaire banker. As it turns out Sinead was a mafia princess and her father Frankie Sapori the mafioso her estranged father, has traded her hand in marriage to the banker in exchange for power and offshore accounts.
However, the best laid plans doesn't always work out the way how you want it. Because Andre turned up and won a game of poker and Sinead as his bride. Andre is not her hero or savior. She's just a pawn in a game between powerful mafia men. Andre is domineering, ruthless, possessive, protective, cold-blooded and relentless. Sinead is challenging, defiant, sassy, fierce, strong-will, and fiery. They were heartbroken after they were separated as kids, but now that they're adults and husband and wife their attraction each day is magnetic. Andre is the Don of Souza Cartel with a lot on his shoulders with enemies on his tracks Sinead is wondering if she's cut out for this life. The perfect blend of suspense, intrigue, and fantastic characters keep hanging to the edge of seat, waiting and wondering to see what happens next. They had a lot of sexy times it was sexplosive, orgasmic and scorching hot and ends on a killer cliffhanger anxiously waiting for Hostile Bond.

This book really took my breath away so many times. Just excellent!
Sinead is trapped into an arranged Mafia marriage by her father, when she meets her childhood best friend Andre on her father's yacht and gets her hand in marriage won in a poker game.
This book is so intense. Andre is very much an alpha, possessive, controlling and a little over the top but as they get to know each other he is slowly becoming more loving. Sinead contests everything with him originally as she was very unwilling in this marriage initially. She is fiesty and stubborn but had a heart of gold and a rebellious streak to match Andre so well.
Autumn Archer had a way with writing that is almost poetic, and a way of taking you into the story. I love her books and this is no different. I just can't wait for the second book in the duet as that ending is really captivating. Can't wait!!
This was an ARC and this is my honest review.

There is such a thing as overdone and this book was it. Don’t get me wrong the plot is interesting enough and the characters aren’t the worst despite their intensity, but the writing is what really made this book painful. There’s no need for such overly complex language in every scene. It was so hard to appreciate the story when EVERY OTHER SENTENCE is a pretentious metaphor. And it tracks into the dialogue too. Give me a break, no one talks like that. It just all comes across as pandering, bad poetry. There are also so many illogical, little things that ruin the story. For example:
Inconsistencies aside, the pointless verbiage made reading this a real struggle and it really took away from the story. The author was doing way too much and at the end…I don’t feel connected enough to these characters to finish their story in the duet.

Captivating Start to this Duet
Autumn Archer has a style of writing dark cartel romances that are intense and complex with lots of steam, drama, action, and violence. Book 1 of André Souza and Sinead Sapori’s story certain fits this bill. Their story originates back to their childhood when they were best friends. Now after all these years of separation Andre rescues Sinead from the terrible fate that her mafia dad has planned for her. Their relationship is explosive and abound with chemistry. Andre has no intention of ever letting Sinead go even when his attraction for her fades. Their story is so riveting I was glued to my e-reader from start to finish. The cliffhanger ending left me on the edge of my seat waiting for the finale of this duet.
I received an ARC of this book from the author in return for voluntarily writing an honest review.

Fast Paced, steamy and intense. All of these components in this read, and I was not expecting a cliffhanger, but oh, how it's made me anticipating the next book to see what is going to happen next. André takes what he wants, and when he sees Sinead from his past, his plan is in motion immediately. She's quite sassy and Dré is not used to that and that's what makes their connection positively combustible. From offering nothing to offering more, feelings are being sorted out at the same time others are attacking. An island is an apt description for each of them, but I also like "wifey" and "husband", totally smart Aleks, both of them.

This is the third book in this incredible series, and this is Andre and Sinead’s journey. Sinead is a mafia princess, and her estranged father has arranged a marriage with a billionaire banker, in exchange for power. Andre is a blast from the past, and he wins Sinead at a poker game. Sinead is feisty and does not accept anything without a fight, and she know how to push Andre’s buttons. This is a well written story which has revelations, intrigue, passion, suspense, danger, emotions, and is an entertaining and steamy page turner.

Get comfortable and ready to read all night

Hostile Vows is the third book in the Souza Cartel series and the first in duet of Sinead and Andre. Be warned that this book does end with a cliffhanger that will continue in Hostile Bond, which I cannot wait to load up and did in. Sinead and Andre are about as opposite as you can get but yet that works really well for them. They also have a history that goes back 20 years to Ireland. Now with a second chance they will never be separated again.

OMG. This is one of Autumnn Archer 's best books yet. She has written a thrilling and suspenseful mafia romance that uou will not be able to put down until you get to the very last page. Her characters are well defined and come alive from the first introduction. There is mystery, steam, violence, and yet a love that has been rekindled after twenty years. This clifff hanger will leave you eager to read the sequel to find out what happens to Sinead and Andre.

After seeing snippets of Andre in Hostile Heir and Hostile King, I've been excited to read his story. And the author most certainly delivers with an even more electrifying book. I'm still infatuated with Andre, but the real star is Sinead, pushing all his buttons, going beyond his boundaries at every opportunity. Once she accepts her situation as his wife, she's not content to stay in the background. The book has all the thrills, suspense, danger, and steam, but that ending is nothing short of amazing. Difficult reviewing

I I like the story in the plot and most of the characters. However I could not stand the MMC. He was so cruel and mean to the MFC because he was mad at her because left when she was a kid, like she had a choice. I did not like most of the intimate scenes, which there was a lot of almost too many. He just wanted to hurt and humiliate her. Is riding was good and there was lots of suspense in the story which is why I kept reading. It ends in a cliffhanger which I will not be reading because I dislike the MMC.

If you love Mafia romance with hot steamy sexual scenes then this book is for you. It does end on a cliffhanger and looking forward to the finale. Andre and Sinead actually grew up together and the story picks up when they meet again 20 years later. There are some other characters you get to know and if you have read other books in the series then you will see other characters from those books come into the story too. A nice read with guns blazing.

Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review voluntarily. Note the trigger warning before reading as this is a mafia story, so expect blood, violence, gun war, drugs, etc. The story grips you from the first page and just pulls you in deeper as you go on a roller coaster of emotions and heart pounding adrenaline rush, trying to keep up with what's going to happen next. The book ends on a cliffhanger and boy what a cliffhanger! I cannot wait for the concluding book.. pls hurry!!

The author wrote André's character to a "T". André was diagnosed with an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. As successful as he was as capo of Miami he lived a very ferocious lifestyle. He really was hyperactive and the drugs and alcohol did nothing to diminish this. He had his second in command always with him when his ADD seemed to take over.

When André's path crossed Sinéad after twenty plus years, he did not take time to think about making her his. He just did it. Sinéad is a fiesty woman. Up until that time lived a quiet life in Ireland running a bar. That was until she was snatched and thrown into the dark life of dangerous men.

What was great about Sinéad is that she understood André better than most. Their history goes way back to when they were children and they were best friends. A misunderstanding occurred and Sinéad had thought André forgot all about their childhood promise to always be there for each other. She did not know André never forgot her and did look for her.

Now that André decided to make Sinéad his, the real fun begins. She is no shrinking violet. She is a no nonsense, takes no b.s. type of gal and looks totally opposite of the women André was attracted to in the past. André is so very intense I would be overwhelmed. But not Sinéad.

This is an exciting page-turning story of the relationship between Sinéad and André. It also weaves a thread of mafia danger and disorder that will have you saying at the end "oh no! it can't end like this!" and luckily for us it does not. I really am looking forward to book two.
