Lost Princes of Morona #1

Firestone: The Omega & The Exiled Prince

Rate this book
Exiled for a terrible crime, Prince Daegan lives a solitary life until an injured omega washes up on his shore.

The unloved, unwanted son of the king, Prince Ellix dreams of the day he’ll finally make his escape through the marriage circuit. That day never comes. Instead, his father arranges a marriage for him. But when he reaches his new home, Ellix learns it’s all a lie. He’s not destined to be anyone’s husband, just a plaything to a powerful king. So he escapes.

Daegan’s quiet life is interrupted by the arrival of the mysterious Ellix. At first, he wants rid of the timid omega, but Ellix’s companionship grows on him. Ellix is certainly in no hurry to return to his life, and Daegan has nothing to return to. Drawn together by loneliness and longing, they finally see their chance at happiness. But as truths come to light—about the present, and the past—the outside world threatens to tear them apart.

Firestone is a m/m shifter romance and the first book in the Lost Princes of Morona. This is a companion series to Stormshield, featuring princes, islands, secrets, and a dash of magic. It contains mpreg, mature themes, and scenes not suitable for readers under the age of eighteen.

A pretty formulaic, two dimensional read. any other time this would probably be more highly rated but it just didn’t wow me this time around.

Cute!

Claire Cullen's omegaverse romances are always sweet and heartwarming, despite the somewhat darkish themes that are always present in some way. I so wish the omegaverse aspects were developed in a much more coherent omegaverse-y way (apart from the alpha/omega designations and the mpreg, there's nothing else, and that's a shame!), but all in all, this was cute. I adored the first half of the novel (forced proximity, survival, falling for each other through adversities? Yes please!), but the second half was a smidge boring, so I skimmed a lot.
But yeah, all in all, very cute and it put a smile on my face.
I'm looking forward to the second novel.

This is another great start to a new series that takes place in the Stormshield word. In this book, Prince Ellix is unwanted and unloved by his family, especially after his omega father passes away when he is a child. All he has to look forward to is joining the marriage circuit to hopefully make a better life with a spouse. Then, he informed that his father had already arranged for him to be with an older king in a faraway land to further trade negotiations. Upon arrival, Ellix finds out that things are much more treacherous than anticipated.

Escaping to the sea, he is washed up on an island and there he meets an alpha, Daegan. He is cared for, but still very cautious. Can this blooming friendship become something more? So many questions remain, most of all how they can survive long-term on an island in the harsh winter. What can happen when new truths emerge and danger looms? This book has magic, mystery, intrigue, and a wonderful new love.

I suppose it was okay, but there was nothing really special to it. The first book of Stormshield was better

I found this book while searching for another one with a similar title and I never read anything from this author before. The trope sounded interesting, so I gave it a try and was not disappointed.
The story is about Daegan, an alpha living a lonely life on a deserted island and Ellix, who was more of less sold by his family for a treaty with a neighboring kingdom.
When Ellix realizes that he was not sent to Morona to marry but simply as a pleasure slave for the king, he flees and it's washed ashore on Daegans island.
Overall this was a good book with an interesting story and I mostly enjoyed reading it!
One problem for me was that the culmination of the story happened at around 50% and afterwards the story dragged a little. The other thing I didn't like was the ending which wasn't even a hfn, more of a "he needs to go and fight but I am sure he will be okay and come back".
I understand the need for a cliffhanger, but sorry, this was just disappointing and poorly executed, the story was good enough to bring readers back without this cheap trick!
My revenge is that I am refusing to read part two once it's out, even though I liked this one.
3.5 stars rounded down for the ending.

Fire and fate

A great spin off series for this world! With everything that was revealed about omegas and the political situation in the Stormshield series, it was clear that there was more going on outside of the island nation of Stormshield. In this series we get to follow a new nation, Morona, as the omega Ellix finds himself shipped off there and the horrors he finds.

Ellix has lived his life being hated by his whole family simply because of who his father was. Being married off to Morona isn't perfect, but at least he can get away from his family. But arriving to Morona it is clear something more is going on, and Ellix isn't willing to lie down and die. His escape leads him Daegan, the lost crown prince of Morona. Each man has secrets they are keeping, but for the moment both of them together on a simple island has them working together in harmony. But the real world has a way of intruding and their secrets come back.

Though some of the twists are a bit predictable, it is an enjoyable and fascinating story. There has been a lot going on in Morona and both Ellix and Daegan have different views that can help the nation. It is clear there is also work that needs to be done and the story of these two men will continue. Much like Stormshield there are new magics to learn about and new politics to navigate and the princes of Morona will be a core part of it!

may contain spoiler moments, but I don't know how to hide them under blurry thingy for spoilers.

it was everything I wanted T_T omegaverse, kingdoms, adventures, romance, magic.
at times it reminded me "Lion king" because: evil uncle killed his brother, blamed his nephew, exiled and tried to kill him while he flees, took the throne and lead kingdom to ruin.
I loved their time on island <3 they told lies or omitted truth to protect themselves, but gradually opened more and more to each other. trinkets that alpha gifted to omega are so cute! simple but he put his time and effort in those pendant and bracelet <3
I love how their first intimacy was called "making love" instead of simply "sex".
they were undoubtedly support to each other in the ways they needed to be <3
I love love love the fact that their misunderstanding was resolved quickly and omega didn't actually returned to his shitty family just for the sake of drama.
the ending was hinting at more with that pirate ships sailing closer, but I would have liked just to wrap up sweet story of our MCs instead of uncertainty of the future.
still, it was great time. I hardly could put down the book and devoured it in 2 days. it became one of my favorites.

Thank you for arc read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review

Oh this is was such a twist of adventurous drama that is so going to to lead to this new series! After all both Ellix and Daegan have suffered so much, the gruff exterior that Daegan puts out only to show a softer side with Ellix is so sweet. It all boils down to the beast within. When truths come out, how will the other handle it..   Ellix had been so betrayed by his own flesh and blood.  Even that was cruel just because he was an unwanted omega by his family didn't mean everyone felt that way. He had limited options where King Lorgan leering touch's was considered jump out his cell and hope for the best. Keeping his secrets, Ellix is fearful that the alpha will send him away once he learns.
Daegan was a recluse..unwilling to suffer more at the hands of others all due to fate. When a body washes up on his little island, he never dreamed the omega would be willing to see him for anything then others had.

Relationships are complicated. Ellix, was the unwanted neglected son of the king. He was sold to a nefarious king, Lorgan who had unseemely appetites, for traveling access. Ellix, decided the window was a better alternative, he jumped, not knowing if/where he would land. Daegan, was the lone inhabitant of the island Ellix landed at. Alpha Daegan and Omega Ellix were in survival mode on the island while getting to know each other. They each had secrets and learned their secrets were connected and they were both living with distortions in reality. Excellent story, great adventure. Will Ellix and Daegan be able to find answers to their respective kingdomes? Will Ellix's Dad be mad at him running from King Lorgan? Fantastic story. Well done. I am received an ARC and am happily leaving a review.

Firestone is a great start to a new series and I really enjoyed it. This is a well written story with amazing characters and an intriguing storyline. I love how resilient Ellix is and how well he deals with all of the obstacles he faces. Daegan is doing the best that he can to survive but it takes Ellix to help him see his past clearly for the first time. Together they have a chance to right so many wrongs as well as to be everything the other needs. Even when they accomplish many of their goals they still have a tough road ahead of them and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

3.5 This is a series I ll surely enjoy as much as the Stormshield series. Book 1 started a bit slow and it took some time for it to develop. My preference is for court intrigue, hardships, and drama, so them being stranded on the island for quite some time wasn t fun. That said overall it starts an interesting journey and I m looking forward to the Kings brothers being found and finding love, I was thinking that maybe even Ellix's married brother could have a redemption arc considering he married a good man. Bullies are usually a product of their upbringing, so being away from his family and having a decent husband might turn Ellix s brother into a decent human too.

Cullen is one of my favorite MPREG authors and the StormShield series cemented this fact. This book, set in the same universe, is just as captivating and hard to put down as the previous books.
I loved her MCs, the angst and tension between them, along with the sappiness :)
What I love in these books, besides the angst, is that her omegas are strong despite seeming fragile at first, able to stand next to their alphas and fight, quite literally, on their side. The only reason that I don't round this up to 5 stars, is that I'd like to see Ellix use his powers a bit more in the end and stand up straighter.
But all in all, I loved it. Now I have to wait for the next book :(

The sea delivered you a mate. You can't fight fate.

This is a wonderful start to a new series. Set in the Stormshield universe, it introduces a whole new set of characters. Betrayal, cruelty, despair, and desperation lead the omega prince to an island, where it is basically a two man story. And what a story it is. Revelations ensue, culminating in a return to Morona and a royal birthright. But the threat to the kingdom is still there. There is a HFN. The story continues in the next book. I can't wait. You are just going to love this book!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more in this series!!
Firestone takes place in the Stormshield universe.

It is very well written with an intriguing storyline. The main characters are interesting and love that the author writes omega characters that are strong-willed and the world-building, as usual, is fantastic.
Ellix and Daegan were perfect together. They fought for what they believe in, saving a kingdom from a cruel King.

Definitely can't wait to read more about the Lost Princes of Morona.

Great addition to the Stormshield world

I really enjoyed the Stormshield series and so I was very excited to see this new book set in the same world. I truly enjoyed the characters but I hope in the next book we get more of these MCs. I feel that we got to know them but they didn’t truly explore their talents and how their roles would benefit from them. Which was very different from the previous series. Still a fantastic read.

Given that I have read the second book first, I am really displeased at the way Firestone ended. What are these strange, abrupt endings that evidently aren’t immediately resolved in the next book??? Maddening!

Speaking of maddening, the lack of communication between the protagonists towards the halfway point in the book drove me crazy. Luckily the book balanced itself out after a couple of chapters.

One is found.

Daegan is exiled to an uninhabited island because he believed he killed his father. The usurper will have his day. Felix believes he's being married off to the King of Morona, but the said king is the usurper. Upon arrival, he's informed that he was part of a trade deal and he'll be nothing but a toy.. Felix manages to escape by using his magic, but he's washed ashore on the island where the exiled prince is living. What happens next leads to many things.

An Excellent Beginning

I am intrigued by this first book in a new series. Having followed the saga in the Stormshield series, these new characters and situations are equally as well written and interesting. Good character development, seasoned with angst and danger, and providing a positive ending and a push into the next installment.

Morona book one

Deagan and Ellix were both sympathetic characters. The first part of the book with survival theme- second part of relearning the dynamics of life in a castle and society. It was enjoyable, not my favorite CC book but I will definitely be watching for the next book.

Excellent Read

I loved the way the plot unfolded. I would recommend this book to anyone who read the Storm shield series. I rated it 5 stars because it was so interesting that I read it in one afternoon. I am going to start the second book in the series as soon as I finish this review.

Great start to a new series. It is an offshoot of the Stormshield series which I have not read yet. I enjoyed this story, liked the world building and Ellix and Daegon were meant for each other. I would like to read more of this couple and their life together. Recommend reading.

What a beginning!

These two have a pretty unforgettable meeting as one is rescued from the sea. Set in the same world as Stormshield, this first book in the series tells the story of the first son of this kingdom. I really enjoyed these two and can’t wait for more.

This book was okay. I liked the second half more than I liked the first. Mainly because I'm not really a fan of alone on a deserted island stories. Overall, the story was okay. It just wasn't anything new.

Minha Primeira leitura de um livro da autora, de muitas que terei o prazer de ler. Pois amei a historia,
um enredo rico de detalhes, fico muito feliz quando encontro autores que escrevem historias que contem trama e que tem momentos quentes.

3.5 stars. Not my favorite by the author but not bad. The beginning and at least the first 3/4 of the book were good but then the last 1/4 just fell flat for me. I enjoyed watching Daegan and Ellix develop their relationship but was left wanting a bit more for them by the end.
