Bay Renity has been appointed as a member to the New Counsel of Athea. She has unlocked histories of the Old World. She has dutifully supported her mother in the face of their personal tragedy. But independence comes with a cost, and Bay has struggled with endless unrest and rising mutiny in Athea in response to their newfound freedoms. Bay wants to leave her home behind and rejoin the rebellion, the Angels Uncaged, to assist in liberating other trapped societies. More than anything, Bay longs to be reunited with the gorgeous rebel warrior, Kass Rush, who has changed her life, and stolen her heart. Openly caring for someone while being a part of the AU can be risky; fear for Kass's safety keeps her from joining him once again in the resistance. Instead, Bay tries to keep Athea contented while her soul is begging to break free of the city that has caged her for so long. Before peace can be achieved, Bay faces even more complications. Old enemies begin resurfacing. History, once again, is not what it seems. And when a dangerous mission into Sedah gets compromised, Kass's life is put on the line. Bay must decide whether she is going to continue playing by the rules, or break everything apart to get Kass back.

All the while, Kass continues his journey with the AU and starts his mission in taking down the corrupt city of Sedah.
However, when Kass’ mission is compromised, Bay must team up with the AU once again to save him.
Y’all this book was so good. i <3 bay & kass omg😭😭
This story has loads of lovable and complex characters, great writing and an overall amazing story!
I enjoyed the sequel even more than I enjoyed the first novel. The action and thrilling turns kept me well engaged. As someone who isn’t very big on romance I appreciated the more strategic storyline and battles. I see some seeds of foreshadowing for the final installment and am ready to see what happens to Pak and Bayith. The poems throughout the novel illuminate the authors skills in a way that make her talent irrefutable. A worthy series for any reader and especially exciting for lovers of YA or dystopian novels.
This book carries the same energy as Book 1. It was great to see Bay’s world expand and her experience life somewhere outside of Athea. The bigger world the author has created draws you in and hints at greater plots at play than any of the characters realize.
