I’m caught between two dangerous men. My ex wants me back. My husband wants me dead. But the only life that matters to me is the baby in my belly.
I tried running once, and that didn’t work. So it’s time for me to try something fighting. I’ll fight for myself, for my sanity, for my child. I’ll fight for hope. I’ll fight for love. Most of all, I’ll fight with the belief that Kolya Uvarov is the man I believe he’s capable of becoming. The man who loves me.
Unless he kills me first.
SAPPHIRE TEARS is the second and final book in the Uvarov Bratva duet. June and Kolya’s story begins in Book One, SAPPHIRE SCARS .
Nicole Fox writes smart, sexy mafia romance novels. She is a crazy cat lady in her late 30s with a coffee addiction, an overactive imagination, and a husband who somehow puts up with her impulsive need to keep buying new plants for their house.
the only reason I’m giving this a star higher than the last book because it actually hurt when Adrian was finally alone. June gave up on him, and so did Kolya.
But otherwise, this book frustrated me. Unsurprisingly. June calling herself strong/no longer meek was funny to me because she WAS meek. With Kolya.
Again, WHY is she talking to her sister like they had a loving relationship? Like Geneva REDEEMED herself. As someone with two sisters, I can guarantee if they pulled the crap Geneva did, I’d leave. Without a second thought.
Not to mention how gullible Geneva is. Like it wasn’t cute the first time, and it’s definitely not cute the second.
Moral of the story, I didn’t like this book. I feel no love for the couple, only relief that I’m done this series. Goodbye.
OH quick add on: Kolya didn’t deserve Milana, and I hate how their relationship ended. He was horrible to her while she was so loyal, and you know what, in death brings peace. Now she can finally escape the man who literally is the worst don lmao.
Once again if your big on spicy mafia books. This is not the book for you. It has some spice, but it's not a major factor in this book. The drama is there though. Nicole Fox really takes you on a wild ride with this duet.
The book starts off in suspense and action. Adrian/Bogdan is back from the dead. No one knew he was alive until he decided that he couldn't live with the fact that June was pregnant with his baby, but she was with his brother. No one else knows that he is alive and June is with him. Kolya is on the hunt to find June, and when he does rescue her he also learns that his brother is alive. A fight erupts and his brother escapes while Kolya saves June. The book progresses with lies, secrets, and betrayals that create the ultimate suspense, drama, and action mafia romance. Kolya has issues with his Bratva, his rivals, with June and most of all his brother that he needs to work out. June has issues with Kolya, her family, and Kolya enemies that she needs to work out. I was not the biggest fan of June's sister Geneva, but my opinion of her did change throughout the book. I DO NOT like her mom nor her shady a$$ daddy. Milana (Kolya's 2nd in charge) wasn't on my top favorite list either, but she grew on me throughout the book. June progresses to a total bad a$$ throughout the book and she'll make a great mother to her baby girl.
The ending is another total WTF kind of ending. I'm hoping it turns into a trilogy or with Milana getting a book of her own.

June is so dumb, she is not worth reading. I enjoyed the first because she was not as stupid and had less need to use her dumb brains. However this second book, all her brain cells couldn’t muster a decent thought. She is like a toddler that can’t even think , how do you plan to have a child ? What a horrible depiction of a woman . She is so bad that I was wondering what kind of man would want this idiot? How do we believe this romance ?
Why ,why , why ? Why can’t she just be a normal woman. She doesn’t need to be a genius but good lord, just normal .
June was dumb as a fucking rock. Naivety is forgivable, not stupidity. She was also so infuriatingly wishy-washy that I truly couldn't understand why Kolya bothered with her in the end. It's not what people say, it's their actions. I kept screaming that in my head and when a character actually told her that, she just... contemplated 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
As for Kolya, he was amazing towards her (for the most part) and with exception to what happened with Milana, I have no issues with him.
Despite me bitching about June, I thought this was an exciting read where the pages just flew. The steam is on the low end because there's just so much going on, but that is 100% fine for all the drama and problems. I was a bit disappointed with the extended epilogue, but I later discovered someone is getting their own story, so I'm happy with that.
I was searching for the excitement, but I didn’t find it. Predictable and not thorough. Star was mentioned in the first book but the continuation in this book was not well done not to mention the ramifications of what Kolya did to the man in front of everyone. Nothing came of it in book 1 so I thought it would pick up in book 2… wrong. What a waste.
İlk kitap okeydi ama gereksiz uzadı sırf düet olsun diye dramalar yaratıldı. Bu kadar uzamasına gerek yoktu kanımca. Ve iki ana karakter arasında asla kimya yoktu.
Look, if you like the stereotypical, weak willed, stupid, naive women in romance novels that have no backbone and make all the stereotypical decisions then this book is for you.
June has to be one of the absolute worst heroines to any book I’ve read. She is completely naive and has no sense of self. I suffered through the first book with hopes the second would be better and it’s actually worse. I couldn’t even finish it.
Here’s the thing: my pet peeve with stories like this is that you know who the bad guy is. Everyone knows. But they talk themselves out of actually dealing with the bad guy. Then the bad guy predictably does something bad and everyone is upset. It’s maddening. Even more maddening, that June literally caused so much of this mess with her indecision and denial. It was infuriating to read. As much as I loved Kolya, she drove me insane. I’m glad there was a decent ending but dear lord that was a painful book to get through.
Wonderful and fitting end to this duet. Be ready with the tissues if your a softy like me. Violence, spilling blood, abuse, and other triggers. But what a book .
DNF at 17% !! This girl gets attacked and abducted in a safe house only she and Adriene know about, this meager lowlife abductor tells her that Koyla asked for her abduction to sell her as a prostitute.. when KOYLA fought to eradicate it! Then Adriene comes out of NO where to save her! And when she asks him “how did you find me” she believes his lame ass excuse if “he knows his brother and the safe houses” girl , be freaking forreal! Where are your brain cells? Come ON the stupdity! How is she allowing yet another man dictate her and then say “I’m not meek, I’m strong” .. strong where sis? Being pregnant after losing her first child, you’d expect her to be a fighter ! A momma bear to protect her offspring no matter what! But she falls into being manipulated yet AGAIN! For the 19th time and then talks to herself with her stupid ass dialogue! I cannot deal! And Koyla is a dumb don ! You’re going on a killing spree but don’t know how you lost one woman when you had so many guards around the area! Come on! Come ON
The conclusion to this diet did not leave me disappointed at all. I loved seeing all the love & passion Kolya had for June. In addition to that you could really understand the doubt & confusion June was suffering with. Now I really hope we get Milanas story that would just be perfect.

Okay so there is something I've noticed about Fox's books, but I kept convincing myself that I was wrong and was just reading it incorrectly but now I know for sure I am not crazy! Right before chapter 1 begins Fox usually has a summary / blurb of the book. I've noticed now a few times that what is said in that little summary doesn't match what actually happens in the book for some of the things mentioned and I finally confirmed it in this book.
So the summary states 'I'm caught between two dangerous men. My ex wants me back My husband wants me dead' So #1 - they are not married; they are engaged but even if we overlook that it still is wrong #2 - Kolya wants her dead; this never happened. Even if you try to say when Adrien had her 'kidnapped' pretending it was under Koyla's orders that still doesn't equal him wanting her dead. She didn't believe it to begin with because he said he wanted to sell her into the sex trade - so she knew he wouldn't do that. I know Adrien was trying to say that Kolya was after her, but I don't think it was even believed or mentioned from June's POV that he wanted her gone.
This is just something I've noticed a few times before, there is always one or two small tiny details that are said in the summary that doesn't happen or isn't mentioned in the book, I just kept telling myself I misread it, but this time I double checked! lol
Either way - I LOVE Fox's stories. This was another amazing Mafia / Bratva story. The writing is amazing and I actually loved both MC this time. June was strong and didn't take his shit laying down. It wasn't spicy though. There were a couple of sex scenes, but they weren't detailed or super smutty, nothing to get you hot and bothered over honestly. This was plot / story driven. It was still good without it, but I rather my stories have good detailed scenes.
I don't usually read Mafia books that aren't standalone, however I've read this duet twice. It's pretty unique when it comes to mafia stories, it has twists and turns you aren't expecting. Enough action that keeps you on your toes and interested. I do think there was some unnecessary fluff, mostly in the second book that seemed to be added just for the sake of length and didn't really add anything to the story. Bu it wasn't so far off the plot that it made me lose interest so that's good. Just made it longer than necessary.
June's boyfriend dies in a car accident after storming out of their house drunk and hitting her, not for the first time. When June faints when identifying the body she ends up in the hospital with a diagnosis she didn't expect. She's pregnant. And the father is dead. On her own, and struggling with everything that has happened and is happening she is barely making it through his funeral when she meets Kolya. Who ends up being her dead boyfriend's brother. When Kolya finds out she is pregnant and isn't taking care of herself to his standards, he decides to step in, and take her to his home, against her will. Her baby is his brother's child, making it the heir to his mob. But it also puts June in danger. When someone from their past comes back, they realize that June may be in more danger than think. Love can only do so much, but it won't protect you from the secrets people hold.
Sapphire Tears is the second and final book in the Uvarov Bratva duet. June and Kolya’s story begins in Book One, Sapphire Scars. Book two picks up right after that mind-boggling cliffhanger with June taking off after the came out that Kolya was the one responsible for the Adrain accident. However, we find out that Adrian is not dead and that he fake his death and he want her back. He was piss to find out that his brother has marry his ex. This story is centered around brother against brother. Ms. Fox kept us on the edge of our seat in this high octane action packed pulse-pounding that keeps us guessing. June doesn't know who to trust once she found out some things about Kolya. She also realize that Adrian is pure evil and his intentions is not good. She doesn't know if Kolya really loves her, the only thing she's certain of is that she as to protect her baby. Sapphire Tears is filled with violence, heat, lies, betrayals, hatred, resentment, emotions, revelations, retaliation, obsession, tension, kidnapping, deception, secrets, darkness, drama, danger, family problems, trust issues, suspense, surprises, mystery, anger, revenge, and love. Phenomenal thrilling read that kept me glued to the pages.

Reading story when something clicks that gives me pause in that the narrative really doesn't flow in book two. The coup!e is supposed to be working on trust issues but Kolya does not tell June that Adrian had her abducted. Adrian wanted to play hero so arranged the whole thing. Why withhold that information? June was in Mexico with Kolya . They were dancing at a party when Iakov approached them and Kolya told her Iakov was dangerous. He told Iakov to stay away from June but left her alone at the bar so he could speak with his rival. Iakov approached her, forced her to dance and tried to rape her. Kolya killed Iakov to save June. Later in story June is reading texts from Adrian about a meeting I'm Mexico between Kolya and Ravil that she witnessed yet she says she is confused. She doesn't know whether to believe what Adrian says or what Jolts says. June still has addled brain she had in book one. She is as " pitiful and pathetic" as she thinks. Book one, page 345, Kolya tells June "he has loved her from the first lemon soda." Book two June is conflicted because she says Kolya has never said he loved her. This is supposed to explain her erratic behavior? I think not. Certain things stick with me as I read so a break in narrative flow is disconcerting. The plot is disrupted. Interesting characters and good story idea.
A wonderful second book in this series, once started you will be captivated
This is a wonderful read that I loved as it had been much waited for and I can guarantee that you will thoroughly enjoy every moment of this amazing book. June life has been a complete calamity and Adrian stresses that he wants her back nut she has to get over the hurt caused by Kolva and his betrayal.
The child that she is carrying is all that she is concerned for an she will do anything to keep their health and she will fight to her last breath to ensure that it is born healthy and knowing that it is loved and wanted.
June is also aware that she is needing to trust Adrian and is unsure if this is a good idea especially after how he hurt her, then she also is concerned about Kolva and what he will or will not do when it comes down to their safety.
Read this wonderful conclusion and I am sure that you will love this read. I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

This final book meets all your expectations and is an emotional roller coaster ride. This book is filled with more lies, betrayal, secrets but it is also filled with love, devotion, loyalty, and family!
June has learned some hard truths and some unsettling lies from her past. She doesn’t know what to do so she runs and is reunited with someone she never thought she’d see again. But now she has to try and decipher what is truth and what is a lie. She is being pulled in so many directions she can’t see straight. She doesn’t know who to believe or who to trust. She is still trying to figure out the whirlwind that her life has spiraled into.
Kolya will not give up on June and he knows once he finds her she will see the truth and be his again. However, the past is still haunting him and he’s not sure he can just walk away even though June is his priority and the baby he doesn’t know if leaving this alone will be a possibility.
There is some crazy moments throughout this novel and there are some heartbreaks along the way but please make sure you read the extended epilogue because it is going to blow your mind. I’m really hoping it’s hinting at another book following this character because that would be amazing. Happy Reading!!
Five fantastic stars!! This book was amazing! I loved the suspense and all the emotions. Kolya and June sure were put to the test before their story finished. This book had action right up until the end! I really think Kolya stepped up in this book. He was more vulnerable and showed a more emotional side which amped up the angst factor. I wish June had been a little wiser. She continued to make some stupid mistakes, especially regarding her sister who was a total idiot! I get she was looking out for her but think things through first before going off half cocked. I really enjoyed the side characters. I liked that Sara was there and was so supportive. I was a bit gutted about Milana but I'm hoping there might be more to that in the future. She was such a strong character and I would have really liked to have known her story from her perspective. This whole story is so well thought out and written. It grabs your attention and doesn't let go. I was hooked and tried to savior the story but my need to know what happens had me reading it in a short amount of time. It goes at a quick pace so you never get bored and with almost non-stop action it's very entertaining. I would highly recommend this duet!!
As always, the conclusion to Kolya and June's love story was epic and full of surprises. Even a few that I did not see coming, and I've read many of Nicole Fox's mafia series! I love that these books have a dual POV with fairly equal attention paid to both characters (especially in book 2). Also- spoilers ahead, this book picked up right as book 1 ended with Adrian having risen like Lazarus from the dead. Turns out he really was just a bad dude- and June, bless her, tried to see the best in him until he was beyond redemption. She is also very angry with Kolya and leaves with Adrian but pretty instantly regrets it, but feels torn between the two men. Kolya pretty much burns down the world to find her and when he does, shows her who the obvious choice between the brothers truly is. As the book navigates toward the inevitable climax and conclusion there are many surprises (mostly from Adrian, he's kind of the worst), the true meaning of Sapphire is revealed and there's a few parts of the book that made me want to throw my eReader. But it ends with an HEA as always and I am so excited to see what she brings us next!.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.
Sapphire Tears picks up right after Sapphire Scars. It is a continuation of Kolya and June's story. I'm not going to talk too much about the plot but Wow! This book had my emotions all over the places. The lies and betrayals are many. All are guilty. The story even though there is the truth, we are all products of what our lives shape us to believe. Without knowing what is going on in someone else's brain, we see things differently.
I will admit I did find myself disliking June at times. The conflict she feels is written so well she makes bad decisions. Kolya was shaped to be a true Don. His conflict is over his feelings and how to show them. These characters are multifaceted and messy, just like real life. I won't even begin to get into Adrian.
I recommend this book and duet. I kept reading chapter after chaper to see what was next. The romance between Kolya and June is messy and complicated, again like real life (ok maybe life on steroids but still...). I do want to read about Milana's life.
Tropes: Contemporary dark mafia romance ******************** Triggers: Domestic violence, spousal abuse, child abuse & neglect, alcohol, drugs, human trafficking, gun violence, pregnancy, death ******************** Quote: “I want to believe that he loves me enough to burn down the world and make it more beautiful for me.” ******************** Wow. Kolya’s and June’s love story has more twists than an old fashioned corkscrew. My review here is for both books.
Written in dual first point of view, the narrative was a wild ride through the world of the Bratva and I had much difficulty putting it down. The pacing was such that chapter after chapter flowed together, without any dead space. The characters, some of which were frustrating beyond reason, were vibrant and almost corporeal, like watching an action packed film in my minds eye. It was hard at times, even though my heart told me Kolya was not the one lying to June, to decipher who was lying and who wasn’t.
Movie rating R, but note that there are some dark aspects. Overall 5/5, 4/5 romance, 4/5 violence, and 4/5 spice. 3/5 for the covers. I recommend this duet and I hope to read more from this author soon.
