Land on my feet? But I’m a raven, not a cat.
Mom tossed me out of the nest with five dollars and the clothes on my back. Why? I visited my snitch brother in Danvers Sanitarium.
Pariah or not, I refuse to abandon my favorite sibling.
Did I forget to mention mom made me homeless on the night before my first day of high school? The principal took pity, but she stuck me in the boarding house with a nosy roommate.
I refuse to flunk out of high school like the rest of my family. Breaking the cycle is a tall order.
Three of my classmates decide to grief me because of my shady family. The others are part of an exclusive and mysterious clique. My only friend is Ed, a scrawny medium I rescued from a gang of psychic bullies.
At least he doesn’t mind my obsession with ghosts.
How will I get through the first month at this rowdy school, let alone three whole years?
Included in this boxed set:

D.R. Perry writes primarily in Revealed World. These are open UF YA Academy books with diverse characters and cute magical critters. She lives with her spouse, child, and dog in Rhode Island.
This is one geeky author who loves writing for the sense of adventure and wonder. In her books, you’ll find real characters, fantastic worlds, and a handful each of humor and hope.
D.R. hopes you have as much fun reading her books as she did writing them.
~ Night Of Sorrow (Gallows Hill Academy Series Book 1) -- Mavis's world is about to come crumbling down around her. She will have her dreams come true, only in a very unexpected way. With family like hers, who needs bullies? Especially when the biggest and baddest is your family. Trying to fit in and make friends can be hard, but if she stays true to herself, she shouldn't have any problems in that area. And if she does, she's not to be their friend anyway.
~ Chance At Joy (Gallows Hill Academy Series Book 2) -- Mavis has an uphill battle coming before her, and I hope she gets all the help she'll need, especially from the "solids", although ghostly help couldn't hurt. There are only so many hours in a day, and with school courses and extracurricular activities, it seems there isn't enough time to study and relax, let alone go on missions, but the gang is handling it so far. I have a feeling that the other shoe will drop in the next book, or maybe even the next few books.
~ About a Girl (Gallows Hill Academy Series Book 3) -- Mavis has acquired her chosen family, and it's more than she can fathom, given the love, support, and friendship she's receiving. These acts are so foreign to her that she's lost when they are gifted to her. She's learning that kindness is the best outcome for her sanity, regardless of whether the gesture is received well. You can only control your actions, not how they're received or reciprocated. Finding out and accepting that you have a learning disability is the first step to the rest of your life living in happiness. If you find that you are having difficulties, please seek help. You'll feel and do better with strategies that work for you, not what anyone else is getting.
~ About A Boy (Gallows Hill Academy Series Book 4) -- Mavis has her heart broken and her soul crushed, but with the help of her friends, she's learning how to let them fill up again, one deed at a time. It's hard sometimes to help someone else when you've wanted nothing but to get to the bottom of your own issues. Since she's in a similar boat, so to speak, she's the best person for the job. And you know what they say about hands-on training.
~ Wrapped in Silver (Gallows Hill Academy Series Book 5) -- Mavis has a lot of truths coming her way, but some of them are even more outlandish than the ones before. Keep your friends close, Mavis, you're going to need them in the coming weeks or months, even.
~ Striking Gold (Gallows Hill Academy Series Book 6) -- Growth seems to be the theme of things this go around. Mavis and the crew have a big fight ahead of them, and not without casualties. Between found family, chosen family, and friends, Mavis can get through -- maybe not unscathed, but alive and on the winning side.
~ Untold Wish (Gallows Hill Academy Series Book 7) -- Mavis is getting closer to the answers she seeks, but at what cost? There's more chaos and tragedy on the horizon, but will the gang have everything they need in place to thwart evil? Only time will tell.
~ Secret Kiss (Gallows Hill Academy Series Book 8) -- The gang is starting to find a way through, even with some help from old friends and new. Harsh realities are hard to face, but with love and support, it be tolerable. New adventures await, but the danger's still stalking their every move.
~ Joyous Bliss (Gallows Hill Academy Series Book 9) -- What a conclusion to this epic series. I've never seen such growth in a series before. Everyone stepped up to the plate and is branching out. I would like to know what happened to the gang in the end, but with Ben's series coming up next, we may get a glimpse of the gang's future. After all, Ben's still in the "Shroud" Pack, and it seems he'll need ALL the support and friends he can get.
Many books can impact us and make us see life differently. Some subtly, some forcefully.
In this world of magic containing magus, shifters, fae, and all the various types and combinations, there is a lot of room for prejudice to occur.
This epic serious continues the quest of righting wrongs, and creating equality for all that started in the first two Revealed World Box Sets.
However, one thing addressed in this set and not so much in the others was learning differences, like dyslexia and ADHD. It was dealt with thoughtfully and compassionately, showing how we can all achieve even though we may have to do it in different ways.
If you haven’t already the two other box sets that come before this, I highly recommend that you do as there is a lot of information about this world and various characters that will make more sense if the box set are read sequentially.
Kudos to LMBPN finding another awesome author like D.R. Perry and providing access for us all to enjoy.
I found each story quite repetitive after the first book even wading through all the books to the end of the quest & Mavis's mom being brought to justice was more of a damp squib than fireworks going off but I just couldn't let the books go even when I was bored after the third or fourth book . I did like the characters but felt we only skimmed them & we got more of a description of red week & drama club , maybe if I was younger if of liked the books more .please don't think these stressful books they aren't they are just same old same old with a bit it's a spark now & then .sorry author
I have read all of D R Perry's academy series and although they are a bit long this one is a 9 book series they are gripping and I like the way they cross reference the other academy books and tie up lots of loose ends, will always read more from.this author. Would recommend you read the other series in order.
The revealed world that D.R. Perry immerses us into in this series is captivating. You will go through a plethora of emotions from, sadness, anger, and joy. The kids at Gallows Hill high school take you on a full journey that teaches about overcoming adversity and how love and the bonds of friendship are so important in navigating life's trials.
A set of ten books that as soon as you start the first book you will not put it down except for sleep, eat and get back to living with the characters of which you will not be able to have just one favorite
