A seemingly cursed witch, an obsessed vampire lord, and three shifters on the outs… What else could possibly go wrong?
Still everything, apparently...
As if getting bit by a feral vampire wasn’t enough, now I’ve been witchnapped? Hexes, I think I’m cursed.
Thankfully, the mysterious vampire lord comes to my rescue, in more ways than one…
But my problems don’t end there. My grumpy wolf cut off our connection and thinks I’ve betrayed him. Too bad I’m determined to get him and his pack back.
My magic is slowly starting to reveal itself and with it, dangerous discoveries come to light.
Will we be able to stop the scales from tipping to evil?
Or will I end up prey to the power hungry supernaturals after me?

Fantastic story! I love how Rue’s story came together so beautifully by the end. She definitely had some struggles but seeing her relationships grow along with her self-confidence was gratifying. Though this is a duet, these fabulous characters could definitely have a series of books. They each had such interesting backstories. I enjoyed the coming together of the different species to the betterment of all. Ended up binging this because i couldn’t wait to see what happened next. Highly recommend picking this one up!
For some reason I thought "Blood Cursed" would become a longer series, so I was surpised to find out "Scorching Bite" is actually the final book in a paranormal RH duet. I absolutely ended up with a girl-crush on Rue at the end of the first book, and even though it had been a while since I read book one, all my love for this woman came back immediately. I admire her inner strength, her compassion and how deeply she cares for and loves others. Slade managed to intrigue me in book one, and I'm really happy he got a more prominent role in this book because he is definitely my type of book boyfriend: scary to others but a marshmallow around his mate.
Even though this isn't a very long book, I still loved where Rue's story went and how we finally got the answers about her powers and the connection between her and the feral vampires. There's a lot of action in this final book, switched out with some spicy scenes to let the story flow beautifully, and I enjoyed it from start to finish. I'm actually hoping for another series in this world in the future; I got intrigued by a little fae healer whose story sounds fascinating...
That being said: if you love a paranormal RH with a mixed harem, some tension between the mates and an fmc you can't help but admire, I can definitely recommend the "Blood Cursed" duet!
*waves hand in front of face* is it warm in here? Or is just this book?
Join Rue and her guys in this spellbinding finale to the series. We last left Rue as she was being kidnapped by the vamp enforcer who was supposed to protect her. Oh also, something is off with the wolves. Luckily, Slade has something to say about her being taken. Once the gangs all back togetherThe battle lines are drawn, but the players aren't clear until moments before their attack.
The twists in this book were amazing! I totally didn't see them coming. The spice is 🔥🔥🔥 and no cliff hangers this time. Loved this series and love Demi's series
Great Conclusion! The story moves pretty quickly and will keep your attention throughout. Filled with magic, lots of action, a little humor and more spice. We also get a few twists and truths are revealed!
I continued to love Rue. Her sense of humor and inner monolog made me smile. She was also kind and caring of others. I enjoyed seeing the growth in her character as well.
Kathan, Caylix, Rhys, and Slade, I loved each of her men. It was good to get more from Slade in this book. We also learned what happened to Kathan's sister.
I think the author did a great job wrapping things up and giving us a great ending to the duet!
This is my favourite of Demi's series thus far. This duet was fun, intriguing and had some great twists and turns. I like how funny the FMC is and the witchisms made me laugh throughout it all. The dynamics between Rue and all the MMCs were well written. There is some interesting spicy scenes. I'm not sure how but she made the logistics of those work very well! I'm not going to reiterate the story for you because I think its very much worth the read, but if you like a well crafted world with robust characters and spice to boot this will be for you!
I thought it would be a long series. But it’s a duet. That one I didn’t see coming. I did love rue in the first book. And in the second only more! I totally loved this book. It’s a shame it’s the end. Because I really enjoyed this series
I liked the conclusion to rues story, a couple of the twists were predictable but the main ones weren't which was a nice surprise. I'm glad she got her HEA
The second half of the book just… what happened?? It felt so convenient and rushed and I was questioning if this was the same book I’ve been reading… The writing is solid, but the plot points and the wrap up… is just… nope. The interaction with the “enemies” just didn’t read right to me, it just feels not very fleshed out and a random sister appearing out of blue and being evil af and people mysteriously being AWOL and then reappearing when plot was needed? Nope.

This book is the second in a duet. I, personally, think duets are underrated; I love that the story was completed in two books. Scorching bite picks up right in the middle of Rue’s kidnapping. Rue finally learns to take charge and she decides to save herself in this situation. Rue pushed through all her injuries and pain and made an escape. A certain vampire was able to show up and whisk her off to his estate. I really enjoyed getting to know Slade more in this book. He has a softer side that didn’t show in the last book. The wolves were complicated for me. In the first book I loved them but in this book I felt they caused some unneeded drama. The conclusion of this book was good but did feel a bit rushed. I would have liked a little more information about the leaders of the feral vampires. It would have just added a little extra umph.I also felt that the alphas stepping down felt off because they are so used to running things and now they have no purpose. Of course, this action does make sense due to Slade also being a ruler and them sharing a mate. That was just something that stuck with me. My favorite part of this book is Rue’s witchy puns; they were hilarious. I sometimes feel that romance misses out on the humor but this one definitely did not. This is a fun duet and I would recommend to anyone who enjoys some humor with their spice.
Average to fast pace reader: finished in a day. Important Note: I did NOT read book one. The small detail I loved about the book: The French language that was in the book. I love when authors put their native tongue to their books even if I don’t understand the language.
The characters were good. Sex scenes were amazing. Story telling has a nice flow. Even though I didn’t read book one I was still able to read through it without being so confused. I will still want to read it though to read the character building, and what lead to what was happening at the beginning. I’m not the type of reviewer that will give spoilers or what’s the point in reading the book. If I had to give one thing that would have worked better is making the fight scene longer, maybe an extra chapter and made it a bit more detailed so it didn’t feel so rushed. Like I felt like the fight scene took a span of 10 minutes not 30 minutes as probably a normal fight would typically last. (Not the correct timing, it’s just an example).
Overall after I read book one, I’ll definitely reread book 2 so I can get the whole story all together.
Great ending to Rue’s story! She really came into her own in this book. I loved the moments we got between her and Slade. Their bond is so sweet, considering his reputation. I love that all of these alpha men love her unconditionally, and will destroy anyone who means to harm her. So many questions were answered. Rue’s background was a surprise! I didn’t see that coming. We also get the back story on why Kathan is so distrusting, and it explains so much. It redeemed him in my eyes from the events that happened at the end of book 1. Caylix and Rhys were just as devoted to her as they have been from the beginning. I really loved this group, and I am sad to see the end of their story.
The fighting, and world building descriptions were amazing. I love to get a clear picture of the scene unfolding, and feeling like I’m apart of the world. I also loved the glossary! Great touch! I didn’t have to look up the translations myself while reading so thank you! I wish more books had that. I am looking forward to Demi’s next adventure she invites us on!
This is the second book in this duet, book 1 must be read to understand how this story comes full circle. This book starts where Rue was kidnapped. When Rue wakes up a million things and going through her head and is thinking who is the second buyer that wants her. At first, she gives up and just wants it all to end. Then something inside her clicks and decides to take charge of her destiny and fight. I love that her vampire shows up to help her and take her to safety. In the first book Slade was shown to only have a rough and dark side but in book 2 we can see his softer side. With the wolves you are going to be scratching your head as to by they are not helpful at all. The conclusion was ok but lacked some details and more information that would have taken this book to the top for me. Overall, it was well written and has a good story I enjoyed Rue witchy banter and that it had vampires and werewolves. This had a great mix of humor and some baby spice.
This was provided as an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Book two of the Blood Cursed Series ended this duet on a bang. I absolutely loved the conclusion to this series. Rue is such a fun FMC, and her internal dialogue is hilarious.
This installment starts where Book 1 ends and Rue is in peril. She is kidnapped and heartbroken as the bond with one of her wolves is closed over a misunderstanding. She back with a feral vampire and a mystery woman who wants her blood. Enter Slade who shows up and whisks her away. I will have to say I think any vampire I read about in the future must have a French accent! (Still fanning myself.) Her wolves find out she was kidnapped and arrive at Slade’s with some much-needed groveling. There are plenty of steamy hot smexy times with all of her mate and questions are answered.
I love this author’s writing style. Her characters are amazing, and she can tell a story. This duet has everything, action, humor, spice, and a HEA.
Demi you did an amazing job with this duet! I am so sad to see these characters go but Demi did a great job giving them the HEA that these characters deserved.
I swear I had to remember that I couldn't drink or eat anything while reading. The inner dialogue of Rue was hilarious, and I couldn't stop laughing and snorting. Demi doesn't make us wait too long, we jump in right where book one ends, with Rue is trouble with a capital T and heartbroken.
Luckily her wolves do come to her rescue, and there's a bit of groveling which I personally loved and felt that Demi did great. There are a few twists and turns in book two so hold onto your butts!
If you're looking for a now finished duet, this is perfect. It has hilarious bits, sp!ce, action, twists, turns and a HEA. I do hope we get to see these characters again :).
This was overall a good read. I finished book 1 & 2 in a couple of days.
Some tropes you’ll find: ✅ Fantasy/PNR (Witch FMC, Vampire & shifter MMC’s) ✅ RH ✅ Touch her and 💀 ✅ Shy FMC with unexplored powers ✅ Asshole MMC followed by grovelling
The book was relatively predictable, and the pacing felt a bit off to me. Some aspects were described in detail while others felt rushed. The big thing that happens is over in a few pages which felt a little anticlimactic to me. Also, the FMC and MMC’s are banging each other every other page yet there’s no mention of pregnancy or contraception and I kept waiting for this shoe to drop, but nothing was explained. Also, some scenes kept repeating (MMC does something wrong then has to grovel)
So check it out if you’re looking quick, spicy, a little repetitive but also at times saccharine sweet, then this might be for you.
I love how Rue grows into who she's meant to be and finds her true strength and who she's supposed to be all along. I love the relationship between her and Slade glows and shines. I love how he cherishes her like she's pure gold and a ray of sunshine. I love her relationship she has with the tripack and how the grow and accept one another even Slade. I loved the friendship growth she has with Arya. I loved the series so much I wish there was more because this was just so good! I actually wish for a spin-off for Dar'tha's own series. Because I feel she could have her very own series with all the mystery going on about her. But I seriously loved how detailed this world was and how well everything turned out!
Let’s start with: I was NOT expecting this to be a duet. I for SURE thought it was going to be a long series especially with it being an RH and the different species of men. With that being said, I AM NOT UPSET.
While the duet may not feel long, it’s tastefully written, and still smoldering hot. Especially with a bit more background on the men especially Slade! Which hello all over again Kathan, Caylix, Rhys, and Slade. Also learning what happened to Kathan's sister was a good way to tie up some loose ends running through my noggin’.
While it was a quick read, I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it!
Scorching Bite is book #2 in the Blood Cursed duet. This is a dark paranormal why choose.
Demi is amazing and I will always read whatever has her name on it!!!
This was the perfect ending to Rues story!!! Rue is such an amazing FMC and I absolutely loved watching her grow and seeing her confidence in herself grow! And don't even get me started on her guys, I can't pick a favorite one. They are all yummy.
This duet has all the drama, action, spice, banter, tension, basically everything you want in a book! If you haven't read this duet yet, go do it right now!!!!
Scorching Bite is the conclusion of Rue’s story. I have been anticipating this book since I read Burning Chance and it’s one I’ve had on my release list for a few months so I was quite excited when it was released today. I really enjoyed the book, it was quite a page turner and I finished it within a few hours. I would recommend giving it a read.
POV: Multi Perspective: First Person Pace: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Scorching bite picks up right in the middle of Rue’s kidnapping. Rue pushed through all her injuries and pain and s able to make her escape. I love that all these alpha men love her unconditionally and will destroy anyone who means to harm her. The twists in this book were amazing! Filled with magic, lots of action, a little humor, and more spice. This book concludes the story and wraps it up perfectly. Loved it!!
I absolutely loved this book and absolutely loved this duet. Warrik, you done us good! Not only did you bring us such an amazing character, Rue, but you managed to give her the conclusion she deserved. The story was full of action, drama, light humor, spice, and it was fast-paced. Truly, it was perfection, and my heart was just swelled. The book was entertaining and a page-turner, and one I highly recommend!
Ooh la la! French speaking vampires! Growly, possessive wolves! Hidden secret Fae, and unexpected talents and betrayals. Rue and her guys manage to survive things going wrong, and the bonding between them all is hot! I loved the relationships between Rue & Slade, as well as Rue and her growly wolves. I love how they all are accepting of the other mates, and even the wolves extended family are so accepting and great for Rue. A great conclusion to this duet!
This was worth every day of the waiting. The author made sure we got a book she was happy with and I love that. The dialogue Rue has with herself, hilarious and so much fun. I was laughing out loud I tell you. Happy to say there is groveling after what happened in book 1. This book does pick up right after it so do read book 1 before reading this one. You need to for sure. Now this is a complete duet and one I will be re-reading for sure.
Reading this series and reading rues way develops into her owe with her men and watching her fighting her owe way and not setting is amazing and this story may be a fantasy, but really it was so much more. I couldn’t put it down if it really wasn’t paranormal, and it was just a love story, there would be no difference because it would be more of a girl coming into her own and fighting for what she believes in.
Couldn’t put this series down. This conclusion was an all in one package of drama, adventure, plot twists, sprinkling of comedy, and sizzling romance. You can’t help but fall in love with all the characters. They make you want to keep reading and asking the questions of “do they get their own stories?” And where did so and so go? What’s next? Definitely recommend this series!!
Eeh kinda disappointing Kahan was honestly just annoying & forgiven too fast, he contributed nothing except being an asshole . The only relationship I actually liked was the one she had with Slade, couldn't really see the chemistry except for Rhys otherwise. Also why did they not care that she's been kidnapped?? They never asked her what happened or how she was?? They just don't seem to care about her except for Slade, it was an Okay read , but a lot of cliques like evil sister etc.

Good world building and plot. But i felt it rushed sometimes especially at the end with the whole vampire beacon thing. I feel like it wasn’t explored enough and I wished we could have seen more of Rue’s fae side and more of Slade and Rue together.
Even though it was rushed i liked this duet and i was never bored throughout it.
Safety for both books: ❌ owd/omd, cheating, virgins ❌ 3 act breakup ✅hea
What an amazing conclusion to this duet! Once again Rue and her men had me hooked from the start and completely drawn in until the end. I love that there is multiple POV's. There is lots for action, plenty of spice and some surprise twists. I can't wait to see what's next from Demi Warrick
I absolutely loved this duet and I'm bummed that it is over. Maybe we can get a novella or two down the road--hint, hint--wink, wink--Demi????
Rue and her guys are fantastic characters and Rue's growth with each guy and within her self was a treat to see. The story took quiet a few twists and turns in this second book that I really didn't see coming.
This book completes the duet, and begins right where the first book ended. Rue is a witch with "limited powers ", or so she thinks. Her harem of men are sexy as h*ll, and love her fiercely. There's a lot of twists with this book that we have come to expect from Demi. It's a fantastic end to awesome duet, and I'm sad to see their story end. Awesome job Demi!!
