It was bittersweet to read this final installment of the Milana Legends.
I loved the way Anna Travis mended hearts broken by the loss of Alexi in the fifth book and how she brought about the defeat of the evil Dahved. It was great seeing clownish Chan grow up and how selfless Kenya fulfilled her dream of being a doctor when the pillar of animals was restored. It was wonderful to see the people of Milana unified to fight the corrupted guardian and that even a band of hunters embraced the truth. I loved the moment that Tai and Nani knew the truth about each other’s feelings.
However, I was sad when we lost a major character and an entire clan was killed by Dahved’s malevolent schemes. But most of all, it was sad to have the series end.
I do wish Anna Travis had shown her characters praying more. The truth is that no one, regardless of their powers, can truly defeat evil by their own cleverness alone. It’s one thing to believe in “the Breather” and to honor and refer to him often, but until we learn to let the Breath of God guide our thoughts, words and actions, we can never walk in the fullness of victory our “Geriah,” Jesus, won for us through his suffering.
Nevertheless, if you enjoy Christian fantasy, this is one of the best I’ve read. As suggested by the new cover images of the books, this would make an epic Anime film series or movie! Just make sure you have time to read the books from start to finish, because you won’t want to put them down!
This book is a truly amazing ending of an incredibly awesome series. I love how Anna Travis is able to weave Christianity in through a whole other world. The ending is so satisfying, and as much as it’s terribly sad to have read about Nani and Tai, and all their friends for the last time, I am truly thrilled with the results of their journeys and trials. My one disappointment in this book was some of the minor details that I did not understand. I’m not sure if I just didn’t catch something that I should have, or if the author left some details out. Either way, I would highly recommend this series all the way, having read a few of the books in it twice over myself. I hope you give it a chance. May the Breath be ever at your back.
Warning that this series is way too intriguing and captivating (wink). I really enjoyed it. A complex fantasy world, emotional depth, and powerful themes. I must say though that because it had been a while since I had read the books leading up to this one, I often felt lost with remembering who’s who and what’s what.
The book swept me into their world. I always enjoy this kind of novel. Would have enjoyed a little more epilogue. It was years later but no child was mentioned for Tai and Nani unless you read the later section of notes at the end.
This is a great finish to a great series. I am glad that the characters evolved as they did. Defiantly a feel good book. I can't wait to start the next series.
Most disjointed in story telling of series, did not flow as well. More like a series of scenes and lost in excessive world things and initial dynamics off
