It’s deal or no deal when a new threat forces two independent neighbours to face a past tragedy.

Artisan cheese-maker GRACE ANDERSON lost her closest friend to suicide, then saw her father swindled out of prime dairy land. Abandonment and mistrust cemented her determination to become the fifth generation on the family farm and to do it alone. A deterioration in her mother’s health starts the clock. Grace has three months to buy her parents out—a decade sooner than planned—or lose the farm.

Neighbour RYAN WILSON is haunted by the belief he failed to prevent his younger brother Danny’s suicide. He’s returned to sell his mother’s farm. In eight years away, he’s built a fortune flipping farm properties and doesn’t do attachment—to land or people.

The bank plays hard ball, forcing Grace to consider Ryan’s offer to buy part of her land. The sizzling attraction simmering between them is an unwelcome complication. She doesn’t want a business partner, he doesn’t want to care, but when someone tries to sabotage her purchase, she finds herself turning to Ryan for more than financial help.

Can Ryan convince her accepting help is not failure? Can Grace escape her legacy of mistrust and teach him how to care again?

An enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance which had me hooked from start to finish. Grace Anderson is an artisan cheese maker and the fifth generation to work on the family farm. Unfortunately Grace has had a difficult time as her father was conned out of land, and her closest friend committed suicide. When her mother’s health deteriorates she’s determined to buy her parents out, before they loose the farm and run it alone. The bank make it difficult for Grace and she has to consider selling part of the land to neighbour Ryan Wilson. Ryan is back on his family farm after eight years away, to sell it. Ryan is still grieving for his younger brother Danny who committed suicide. Blaming himself he just wants to do what he’s good at, flipping farm properties, and then leave. Ryan does not like forming attachments with people or land, so he’s a bit mystified when he offers to help neighbour Grace.

When someone sabotages Grace’s purchase she reluctantly turns to Ryan for assistance, but finds more than financial help. Neither Grace or Ryan can ignore the chemistry between them, which sizzles off the page, but she needs to realise that accepting his help isn’t a failure and he needs to learn to open his heart again. Although this is the second book, it can be read as a standalone story, however having read and enjoyed the previous one I liked how the characters popped up in this novel. I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading this heartwarming romance. I loved the main characters, and how Ryan and Grace’s relationship developed. The setting was brought to life by the descriptive narrative and I felt immersed in the storyline, which kept me happily turning the pages.

Grace is an Artisan Cheese Maker who is determined to become the fifth generation to live on her family farm. She wants to do it alone because she trusts nobody to help her and is used to relying on herself and doing things on her own. After having recently lost her closest friend to suicide and watching her father get swindled out of land it is important for Grace to keep the family farm going to pass down to farther generations. When she learns that her mom has declining health, she is racing against the clock to come up with money to buy her parents out.

When the bank makes it difficult for her to come up with the money Grace considers selling part of the land to her neighbor Ryan. Ryan’s brother has recently committed suicide and he blames himself for his brother’s death. After years away from his family’s farm, he has only returned with the intention to sell the farm. Ryan finds himself not wanting to become attached to anyone or anything. His only passion in life is to buy a property, flip it, and move on. He surprises himself when he offers to help Grace after someone sabotage’s her purchase. Grace and Ryan both get more out of the deal than they originally bargained for.

Grace and Ryan have undeniable chemistry going on between them but first they both must learn to open their hearts and trust again. Both are headstrong, determined, and used to being independent so learning to lean on each other for help does not come easily. Grace has to first realize that asking for help does not make her a failure and Ryan needs to take down the walls around his heart. Together, they make an amazing couple, and I enjoyed watching their relationship unfold. A great read!

Grace Under Fire
By: Jennifer Raines

I love the Anderson Sisters Series! This is the second book in the series, but it definitely reads as a standalone. It is simple to follow along and you really don’t need any background to understand.
Grace Anderson is undergoing the biggest challenge of her life. There is a succession plan for her family’s farm, however, that plan was designed to take place a while from now. Due to a family emergency her timeline has moved up, and it is clear she is going to need some help. She wants to buy the farm outright without anyone’s help, however, the bank doesn’t seem willing to do this.
Enter Ryan. Ryan is Grace’s best friend’s brother. The one that she hasn’t seen since the day of her friend's funeral. The one that she is so angry with for reasons she doesn’t understand. Obtaining the farm means that Grace is going to have to run into him a lot. She is going to have to begin to work through her feelings towards him. But what if her feelings are even more complicated than she thought? And what if he might be the only person who is able to help her save her families farm? Will she be willing to end her rule to trust no one it it means saving the farm?
I love the Anderson family. They are such readable characters and the kind of family that clearly has its ups and downs but in the end has each others backs. Ryan is a very interesting character, one that is hard to pin down. I definitely loved this story and recommend it for a quick, fun read!

I really enjoyed this contemporary romance. The author does an amazing job with their characters. They are both well developed and are written in a way that makes the reader feel every emotion they go through. I love Grace's determined spirit and how she let's nothing stop her from her dreams.
Grace and Ryan have both has losses in their pasts which has left them feeling Wounded and at a loss. When Ryan's brother passes away it should have been a tragedy that brought them together. Instead Ryan ran and that forced a wedge between Ryan and Grace.

So now we fast forward. Grace is planning on taking her family's farm over but when her mother's health deteriorates she needs to make the move sooner than she planned. Which causes a problem. She needs to buy her family out sooner or risk losing the farm forever.
Ryan has now arrived back into her life. After being successful in selling property he's back to sell his parents place. Should be straight forward. But he didn't plan on the feelings Grace awakens in him.
When Grace is desperate cause she seek help from the one person that broke her trust all those years ago?
This story is about finding a romance when you least expect it. Their is sadness and happiness, lies and deceit, love and loss. Its a very emotional story and fate definately play a part but will it be enough this time?

Grace Under Fire is the second book in Jennifer Raines’ The Anderson Sisters series. It can be read as a standalone, as it follows a different sister from the first book, but if you plan to read both I’d recommend reading them in order to avoid spoilers.
Grace is a cheesemaker and stands to take over the farm that has been in her family for generations. She’s used to being independent and relying on herself, but is still building her business and isn’t yet ready to buy the farm. But she has to, soon, or lose it forever. Which means she’s forced to accept help from others - family, those in the community who want her to succeed. And the brother of her best friend, who she hasn’t spoken to since the friend’s suicide many years ago.
This is an emotional read about accepting help and coping with challenging situations. The relationship between Ryan and Grace is well written - they’re both open about their attraction to each other, but reluctant to get involved with each other when there is so much for them to work through. I like Ryan’s dog, Satan, who breaks the tension and helps us see Ryan’s caring side. And Bluey the farmhand is fun, always bringing a cryptic crossword clue he’s stuck on (how did the author find so many cheese-themed clues?).
This book gets five stars from me! I’d recommend it to fans of rural romances.

We meet up with Grace's family again in this second installment of the Anderson Sisters. Grace is an artesian cheese maker who's looking to buy her family's farm to keep it in the family. There is a lot of drama surrounding the farm and who could potentially be the next owner.

Ryan Wilson has known the Anderson family for many years. He grew up on the farm next door. His brother and Grace were very close friends until his brother's untimely death. Ryan's a runner...from people and situations. He does, however, enjoy flipping a great land deal over.

Can Grace and Ryan form an alliance to save the Anderson family farm?

This is an enjoyable read set in Australia. Jennifer Raines doesn't shy away from tackling difficult issues in her stories. The reader may find themselves in the family as they read these stories! I would suggest reading Taylor's Law if you haven't yet either! Both of these can be read as stand alones but I would recommend them both!

A great small town romance between old neighbors. Watching the two main characters discover a new path forward was enjoyable. I read the book in a single setting. I didn't want to put it down.

Grace has plans to take over her family's farm in a decade, but with her mother's help deteriorating her time has just dramatically shrunk to 3 months. Not nearly as much time as she was counting on to be able to buy the farm from her folks. Another hardship tacked onto her life that has already had a fair share of them from losing her best friend to suicide as a teenager to watching her father get swindle from prime farm pand.

Ryan, who believes he failed his younger brother by not preventing his death, has moved on from the town. In that time away he has made a business of flipping farm properties. He has no attachment to land or to people. It is that reason he is back to sell his mother’s farm.

Grace was his neighbor and his brother's best friend before he died. With hard ballers and sabotage being thrown at them will the past they share bring them closer together? Will they both be able to work through their own issues from mistrust and abandonment to being haunted by tragedy? Will Grace be able to achieve her goal of buying the family farm?

Pick up the book to find out!

I really enjoyed Jennifer’s first book Taylor’s Law and was looking forward to reading this book Grace Under Fire. Contemporary romance lovers will love this book. The characters are complex and well developed. It is an emotional journey for them as they are still reeling from their pasts.
This intriguing story keeps the pages turning. With something for everyone, love and loss, secrets and lies, wealth and greed, passion and compassion, fear and angst, sadness and frustration, humour and more you can’t go wrong.
Grace thought she had more time. Now she is forced to act much sooner than she thought. She will fight with everything she has to hold on to the one thing that means more to her. Will she be able to overcome her abandonment and mistrust to seek help or will she lose it all?

Ryan is still haunted from a tragedy and is stomping his way through the world without thought for anyone or anything. Now he isn’t so sure what to do. Will he come to terms with his past and be there for the woman who needs help?
It is not just their pasts they have to endure it is sabotage and hard ballers that are determined to take it all away.
I look forward to more from Jennifer.

Grace Under Fire is the second instalment in The Anderson Sisters Series by Jennifer Raines. It is another enjoyable contemporary romance with family, friendship, love, loss, connection, drama, greed, farming, shared history, complications, determination, mistrust, sabotage, angst, humour, chemistry, second chances, and finding love unexpectedly.
I really liked Grace, and Ryan. Their past history added an extra element of interest to the story for me. They share a loss which cut them both deeply. But instead of drawing them together, it caused a rift. Grace wants to keep her parents farm in the family, which means buying them out, sooner than expected as her mother’s health problems have forced her parent’s hands. Easier said than done, especially with the bank breathing down her neck. Ryan is back after 8 years away making it big flipping property. He’s returned to sell his mother’s farm and plans to get in and get out. But fate might have different plans, for them both. What happens makes for a great read.
Looking forward to more from Ms. Raines.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Jennifer Raines!

This story follows Grace as she takes over her family farm much sooner than expected due to her mom becoming too sick to stay on the farm. Grace has had some hardships in life to overcome already, including the death of her best friend as a teenager. The brother of her best friend is now her neighbor on the farm and could be what she needs to save her farm but they havent spoken in years. The death of the one person they both loved has kept them at odds but may also be something that links them together.

This was a unique and interesting story for me to read. I was super intrigued about the farm life for Grace and i really felt like i was experiencing that with her. I also liked the interactions between her and Ryan. They felt genuine. I was not entirely sure how i felt about Ryan at first but then he kind of started to grow on me. I enjoyed Grace and loved seeing her with her family which clearly means a lot to her. This story was fun to read and watch Grace and Ryan put their issues aside to do what is best for the farm and turns out they could be whats right for each other as well.

Grace Under Fire (The Anderson Sisters Book 2) by Jennifer Raines

Grace Under Fire is the second book in The Anderson Sisters series and is a Contemporary Romance that once you start reading there’s no stopping until you finish. I devoured this book in one sitting. This story will definitely take you on a emotional rollercoaster ride. My emotions were all over the place . There is some sensitive content but its mentioned in a very delicate way. I absolutely loved this story and the characters are relatable, well developed and raw at times. Grace is artisan cheese maker and fifth generation to work on the family farm. Her mother’s health declines and Grace finds herself buying out her parents dor the farm. Ryan suffered something tragic in the past and finds himself flipping farm properties for the last eight years. These two both have pasts but can they each work through to have a relationship? Can Grace get over her mistrust and teach Ryan to care again? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

I know nothing about farming, milking, or cheese production. That being the framework for Grace Uncer Fire had me questioning if I would enjoy it. But I took the chance and glad I did. The book was a little slow moving, but it did have a lot of drama that kept the story going. I was a little frustrated by how long it took Grace and Ryan to own their feelings for each other and Danny and the past. I think they didn't quite realize their own feelings until far too long into the story. And I felt the info surrounding Danny was developed and revealed too slowly. We find out he died. Then much later we learn how. Then much later we learn the circumstances of why. Then nearly at the end, the full feelings and actions that day. So overall I feel like the author drug their feet a little and made the story much longer than needed... but overall I liked it. The characters and the past drama, the closeness of the families, etc were all likeable. I am happy that there is a pre story for Ella- I felt like there was a lot of details from the past hinted. So I look forward to reading Taylor's law.

Having read the first book I couldn’t wait to get into this one despite having read the first book my attention was grabbed by two relatable things , suicide and farming ….,

Having lost someone I loved to suicide I could identify with Grace and Ryan on an emotional level and with Grace and the family farm I identified on another level as I’m married to a farmer and we live on the family farm and bought the farm over from my husbands parents ❣️

Grace’s hand is forced to a degree to buy her folks out when mom gets ill and she has plenty of ideas to rescue the farm and it’s looming downfall but that also means facing “demons” when she has to take hands with Ryan and to a degree he’s a reminder of what she’s lost and in the same breath it couldn’t have been easy for Ryan because of the bon his sister shared with Grace , maybe I’m just too emotionally involved but my heart did bleed and rejoice at the same time because I felt this on so many different levels …..

Ryan snd Grace make a formidable team ❣️📚

This is the first book I have read from this author. I love a good small town romance but this story exceeded all my expectations. This is the second book in the Anderson sisters series. It could be read as a standalone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I could not put this book down. These characters drew me in from the first chapter. It only took me a little over a day to devour this amazing story.

Grace Anderson is the town's cheese maker. She loves what she does. Grace is told that her parents have to leave due to mom's health and wellbeing. She has three weeks to get the money for the farm or they will have to sell it. Grace wants to do this all on her own but Ryan Wilson wants some of her land. She can’t stand him because of the past but they need to put their differences aside to save the farm. Will Grace be able to save the farm or will it fall into the wrong hands?

I have to say this book had me hooked right from the very start! This author creates such wonderful storylines and characters you just can't resist them. With such fantastic writing it is so easy to imagine the people and places she describes. I think my heart also engages because as a fellow Aussie I know the places she mentions and it just gives me the warm fuzzies LOL.
It is so easy to see that Ryan and Grace are meant to be together if only they'd get out of their own way! Moments in their pasts have made them both create different walls around themselves in order to feel protected from what life may throw at them. While trying to work out who is out to try and take Graces family farm they both little by little chip away at those walls and learn more and more not only about each other but also about themselves.

Grace and her family have run Blue Sky farm for years. She has a cheese maker using the families farm resources as part of her product. However her mother is sick and the doctors have told her she needs to get away in order to get better. Her mother and father have decided it would be best for them to sell the farm, so Grace had three months to come up with the money and a way to be able to finance the loan to buy the family farm. Ryan who is their neighbor and her best friends brother has returned back to town ten years after his brothers death. Ryan has made offers to buy the barn but has been turned down every time. Grace is still upset that he left as soon as his brothers funeral was over. Well she be able to forgive him for leaving and maybe work together to bring the farms into the future?

My heart........this was a really good story with romance and heartache....I thought the first book in this series got me a bit....this one got me as well and took me on another roller-coaster of emotion. I love becoming enveloped in a story that just full of emotion and some raw moments.

Both Grace and Ryan have had such loss in their lives. Grace loses her best friend and Ryan loses his brother to suicide. Grace is trying to keep it together, with not only losing her best friend, but the threat of her family farm as well. When Ryan loses his brother and feeling at fault, he leaves and decides to go in business...no strings nor attachments. When opportunity knocks and Ryan comes back to sell his mom's farm, Ryan also tries to buy part of Grace's land. Will both Ryan and Grace come to terms not only in regards to the farmland but their hearts?

This is the second book in the Anderson Sisters series but it can be read as a stand-alone book. This book focuses on Grace Anderson; artisan cheese-maker and fifth generation farmer. Grace hopes to own the farm when her father retires, and that day is coming sooner than later for Grace.
Grace’s father arranges for Grace to have some help from her childhood friend, Ryan. Ryan and Grace haven’t been on the best of terms since the death of his brother, Danny. Their relationship is strained from Ryan’s exit, Grace’s stubbornness and Ryan’s willingness to open up about the past.
This book is full of romantic tension, twists and turns, trust and love, and is beautifully written. It was a page-turner from beginning to end.

Grace Anderson is having a hard time. She has just lost her best friend to suicide and now she must buy out her parent's farm ten years earlier than originally planned. Her neighbor and best friend’s brother Ryan Wilson comes back to town to flip his mother’s farm property and leave, he blames himself for his brother’s suicide and doesn’t want any attachments. Of course, fate has a hand and Grace has to turn to Ryan for help.

I really enjoyed this book. This is the second book in the Anderson series but I think you can read it as a stand-alone. Ryan and Grace are great together. They have amazing chemistry and I was rooting for them from the start. I really love how the author can weave romance and complex dynamics. This book is well written and a definite page-turner.

This is an okay read. I liked the idea of the story but the execution was a struggle for me at times. Sometimes it ran smoothly and others it was very choppy and cryptic. When a character asked “What do you mean?” To another..I was wondering the same thing but what they said did not make sense. Ear the end this seemed to get worse.

I liked the characters but my favorite is Bluey when it shouldn’t be. He is a secondary. The main female had a lot of issues to work through (personal and job). I see the author was touching on a couple touchy subjects. The family farm is a rough one and I can see the responsibility and pressure one could feel.

Overall its an okay story. The cover is cute and thats what pulled me to it. The blurb sounded intruiging. It fell a little flat for me.

While I typically love small town, best friends brother type of books, this one failed to grasp my attention. I had to restart chapters because I wandered elsewhere and eventually skimmed most of the conversations surrounding the family farm succession and how it will be split amongst the sisters. While I did see the author's note about her reasoning for including explicit information on the topic, it is part of the book that stopped the flow of the small town romance I was hoping for. While I enjoyed Ryan's character, Grace just wasn't likeable for me. I always want to root for the main characters but my favorite character was Bluey and I would have rather read about him and Helen. It was a good read, just no wow factor for me.

This is a sweet story about Grace, who is fiercely protective of her family ranch land and Ryan, who is buying up land. With their past history, it is difficult for both to forgive and move on, but when current things happening in both thier worlds bring them together, they find a way. All throughout this story, I wanted Grace and Ryan to make peace and and tell each other that their love has grown. I wanted them to put their cards down and fall into each others arms. It was so evident in how Ryan came in to support Grace, how they worked together to save the farm, and how their families were providing opportunity for them to work together that it was meant to be.
If you are into sweet romance with some steamy (not too much), this might be a book you could check out!

This was an amazing read that filled me with so many emotions! I did not read the first book in the series, but after reading this one I will definitely pick it up to start from the very beginning. Grace lost her very best friend to suicide, which is heart-wrenching all in itself. The loss of her friend hits her terribly hard (understandably) but then she is faced with a difficult task; buy her parents out much earlier than she has planned, or lose their family farm altogether. Ryan enters the picture with some solutions, some a few demons, and an insane chemistry with Grace. Will they end up being a great team, or will their decisions alter their life for the worse? I highly recommend this astonishing, emotionally charged book. I’m heading to pickup the first in the series right now!

This is book number two in The Anderson Sisters series, and it was just as perfect as the predecessor. The protagonist makes you root for her to win. She has been through so much heartache and pain that I found myself an emotional mess on this rollercoaster ride of a story. She reminded me of myself in certain ways because she is such a strong willed, do it yourself woman. Fierce and determined to not ask or accept help. However sometimes you are resigned to the fact that you must do what is needed under fire. I loved this story. I highly recommend it. I think this would make a wonderful Hallmark movie and would love to see it on screen.

This book is the second in the Anderson Sisters series and was definitely as good as the first. It is a contemporary romance that can be read as a standalone. The book is certainly emotional, tackling a sensitive topic in a gentle way. For me this really impacted the characters and made them much more relatable and real. They had a great connection right from the start but had such a huge obstacle to overcome.
The author weaves and enjoyable story that connects with its audience. It has a great balance between emotional, romance and an overall enjoyment. I think this is a great book and I am looking forward to more from this author.

Very good! This is the second in a series, but can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the first book in the series, but am eager to do so after reading this one!

Grace and Ryan are very different, but both struggling through a shared loss, and now through a shared goal! Grace is a determined and independent woman and Ryan isn’t looking to get involved with anyone, but after years of not seeing one another, can they make the best team?

This was an emotional read with amazing characters. The author developed a strong setting and does a great job developing relatable, likable characters. This one will keep you turning the page!

Grace Under Fire is the second book in The Anderson Sisters Series by Jennifer Raines. I did not read the first book and really enjoyed the second book. Grace has been put through an emotional wreck first with her best friend committing suicide, then her father loses great dairyland, and her mother faces health issues. Ryan feels guilty about his brother's death. He is in the process of trying to sell his mother's farm. The land could be the perfect solution for Grace's problem. Unfortunately, life happens and someone tries to make the purchase fall through. Can shared hardship bring the two together? Find out by reading Grace Under Fire!

This is a great book, second in a series, but I had no problem following along not having read the first. But, after reading this one, I’ll be going back to read the first! I don’t normally read contemporary romance; I love a bit of magic in my story. I enjoyed this one immensely and it has possibly opened me up to read more of them! I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, the plot, and the authors writing! The story was very emotional, and I loved the journey the characters went through. Would definitely recommend this series, particularly this book.

Grace Under Fire is the second book in The Anderson Sisters series and is a sweet, emotional journey of loss, life and love. I was immediately hooked by the hunky Ryan, his pup Satan and the fact that the lovely, but stubborn Grace is an artisan cheese-maker! Best job ever! Grace and Ryan’s past and their families are woven together with such heartfelt drama and the kind of endearing connection we all love to see in small town romance. The hot, haunted Ryan won me over from the start and I loved the chemistry sizzling between him and Grace!

There’s a lot to love about this series. The characters are so well realised and the story keeps the pages turning. Raines has a wonderfully unique voice which takes the reader on an emotional journey. Grace and Ryan are two individuals with so much to overcome in order to find happiness. The plot twists and turns and keeps you guessing until the very end. And Grace’s stubborn heart was so relatable. Highly recommend!
