A spontaneous Fourth of July trip to Woodgate leads Asher and Keira on an unforgettable weekend journey. Sparks fly and old attractions rekindle, leaving one of them wondering if their story is already written in the stars.
Skye Moon is an avid reader, writer, and accomplished independent author. Having published her first creative work at a very young age, she always felt destined to land in the literary industry.
Hailing from the seven cities area of Virginia, Skye has an English and Hospitality degree beneath her belt. Some of her favorite authors include Christina C. Jones, Johanna Lindsey, Desiree Granger, Kresley Cole, and many more. Her downtime is often spent consuming paranormal, true crime, and fantasy shows, complete with her favorite snacks.
When picking up one of her books, know that you'll always get characters who are unapologetically black, relatable, well-developed, and feel like family. She'll always transport you to cities rich in African American culture that you won't want to leave.
Yes I read this three book “series” out of order and yes I need you to mind the business that pays you 🤣🤣 no but for real, I’ve had this book downloaded for a while now and in an effort to read more of what’s on my KU and what’s on my TBR I went in blindly not realizing this was a novella meant to bridge books one and three together.
This was the perfect introduction to Asher and Keira’s story and the perfect appetizer to get me ready for this small town romance. Keira is from the small town of west bumble fk lol and Asher is a city bwoy! Asher and Keira have crossed paths a time or two since his NFL team mate is married to her cousin and their encounters haven’t been the most pleasant. Asher figures Keira is playing hard to get and as a top player in the league, he knows a few things about playing to win!
This was such a cute yet captivating intro to their story and I’m excited to see what the full length novel has in store.
Thank you Whitney for recommend this to me! 10 out 10 and I'm ready to read the sequel so I can know how Kiera and Asher get that delicious happily ever after woooo.
If you love single mom romances, this one's for you. Astral works sort of a prequel to the full-length novel, Written in the Stars, so take that in mind! This is short and it's a lil something before they get their HEA - so you'd have to read that one as well. But best believe, this novella is also pretty good and it already intrigued me so much I want to get to the next one asap.
This was a good intro to what’s to come for Keira & Asher. I already know Blaine is going to be a problem and I’m over his character. I hope Keira let’s her guard down and let Asher in- they clearly have chemistry. I enjoyed this one.
Asher and Keira are the perfect example of maybe next lifetime. In this short we get to see how their story begins and are introduced to quite a few roadblock already in the way. I can see the draw that Keira has on Asher already and man the build up has me ready for the full novel!! And that snippet?? Whew!! Definitely recommend and I’m ready for the full length!

This novella did what it was supposed to do! Asher is the kinda king I love!! He wasn’t playing about Keira AT ALL and home girl ain’t his woman yet. Asher wanted Blaine to breathe wrong so he could get in his ass 😂. I love Keira so much, she is a real one. She was doing the best she could to give her son Devon everything all while trying to cover up for his sorry ass daddy. She never once bad mouth Blaine in front of Devon, I think that is so important, allow his actions to speak for him. I love how Asher just stepped up. No questions asked. This was a very cute read.
This set the scene for book 3 even though I don’t know if it was necessary. But I still enjoyed it I knew these two would end up together and I love when friends get with friends.
Small towns hold a magic that big cities just don't have, and in Astral, Asher definitely finds this to be true.
Asher and Keira didn't exactly hit it off the first time they ever met (that can be found in the story that precedes "Against the Stars") but on this weekend trip to the small town of Woodgate, they collide in a way that neither saw coming.
From the very first word, Skye Moon draws you in with detailed descriptions and emotions that jump off the page. Asher's kind attentiveness and willingness to help, even when he doesn't have to, set him up as the ultimate book bae. But Keira isn't willing to bend so easily.
This was a very sweet read, filled with enough heat to have you reaching for the fan or the phone *wink wink*. Skye Moon does an amazing job at setting the stage for this romance to blossom. I'm looking forward to what the stars have in store for Asher and Keira.
Timing is everything and that proves to be the situation with Asher and Keira. The connection and chemistry is there but Keira has had her share of playboys and she doesn’t want to go down that road again. It doesn’t help that Asher is good with her son and helps her out of a situation with her baby daddy. Whew this book spoke to me as a single mother dealing with a man who picks and chooses when being a father works for him. It sucks. Keira knows what she wants abs deserves and isn’t willing to settle so she leaves their interaction where it is. I think there is so much for in store for this couple and I can’t wait to see it.
Our man Asher been out here feining but yer gorl is neck deep in mum work, trying to not let her dream job idea die in a small town, and co-parenting with some man child and his mess.
But Asher coming through when Keira's son gets stood up, really shows a different side to him. *I hope he listens to Quentin and leave ol' girl in his ear that he ain't serious about and go for Keira'.
I love this short and can't wait to dive into Written In The Stars for the whole story. Coz that tid bit whet my appetite.
I need more! Plain and simple! Asher and Keira are two people who share an obvious attraction to those around them, but fear and insecurity are a few of the obstacles that may keep the two from being together. This was an excellent introduction into Asher and Keira’s lives and the people and circumstances surrounding them! Skye is an author that I always want more from! I have no doubt that the story of these two lovers will be worth the wait.
I don't remember how I got this freebie from the author; it's my first read by her and a great introduction. But man, what a teaser! I have to read part one of this series because I loved the setting, the family and commadarie. It was like a warm, southern homecoming. Face it, Asher and Keira belong together even with the baggage they're both carrying - I see it in the stars. Looking forward to their full story.
I want more from these two. I can’t wait to read Written in the Stars. Asher and Keira have to work together. I see so much potential with them. Quentin told him that Tati was bad news. It’s very clear that she is spiteful. Can’t wait to see how this plays out. I loved this teaser because that’s clearly what this was. Now I have to wait until November…ugh!
I can’t wait to see what Tati has gotten Asher in. I knew she was bad news. Asher and Keira are definitely meant for one another. I love the pull they had on one another even tho she tried to deny it. So, how long I gotta wait for Written In The Stars???
I need more! I feel like Tati did some bs cause she got mad that Asher don't want to mess with her anymore. Blaine is trash. I can't stand part-time fathers then want to act all concerned when there is a potential new person. And his girlfriend Sadi or whatever her name is 🙄 is trash too.
Oooooo this was my first book by Skye but will NOT be my last! I love a good novella until I quickly get to the end and I’m yearning for more😬 Hopefully we’ll get the rest of Asher and Keira’s story sooner than later!!!
This short read was packed with so much! Absolutely beautiful writing and with no wasted words. Witha strong female character and male character finally making the connection I wanted them to make, it was amazing. Can't wait for November to here the rest of the story.
These two are going to have a love story that is going to have me investing in Kleenex; I can already tell. Asher knows what he wants and it's Ke without a doubt. I cannot wait to see what Skye Moon does with their love story.
What a great introduction to Asher and Kiera! I’m very excited to start on their journey and to go back to Quentin and Kaelyn’s love story! Only issue is that it wasn’t long enough! But I guess that’s why WITS exist, lol
The beginnings of something great! This was a fire as opening to a future cute a** couple who’s going to stress me out. We stan a man and baby he’s all MAN. Read this you won’t be disappointed.
Loved this small town short story! Frenemies ( for play) is one of my favorites troupes and this left me ready for more. Can't wait to read the full book. Well done❣️
