The time for Antonia’s court presentation has finally arrived, but how will she be received, not only by the King, but by His Majesty’s new mistress Mme de Pompadour, and also the French nobility? This seems the least of the Duchess’s worries, when the Duke comes face to face with the Comtesse Duras-Valfons in the very public space of the Hall of Mirrors. There is a collective intake of breath from their noble audience, shocked at what the Duke does next, and with Antonia’s blessing. But will King Louis approve, and will Their Graces ever be invited back to Versailles?
Hello! I'm a history geek who loves the 18th Century! I write about families, creating worlds that are full of history, heart, and Happily Ever Afters. When I'm not in my writing cave in the 1700s I live in the middle of a koala reserve, so the neighbors are cute and cuddly and sleep all day! I write because I must, and I write from the heart, and only what I love to read. My books have been on the New York Times, USA Today, Amazon, and Audible bestseller lists, and have won numerous awards. All are available as audiobooks narrated by British actors Alex Wyndham, Mary Jane Wells and Matthew Lloyd Davies, and voice talent Marian Hussey. My books are also available in translation— French, German, Italian, and Japanese languages. I love to hear from my readers.
This is a good series. It is best to read the books in order. Their is a big age gap between , Antonia and the Duke of Roxton . Which doesn’t matter to either of them.
Good characters and secondary characters in the story. Friendship , Humour, murder, family feuds . Will definitely be reading more stories by Lucinda Brant.
Finished this days ago and forgot to check it off. The foundation series have all been such a great addition to the Roxton saga. I got emotional at the end of this because of where this little family had come from and the future the five of them were making together. I also got a little emotional cuz I thought it was going to be the last book. The foundation series has to be listened to in order and even the Roxton Saga on the whole would be enjoyed best in order. I appreciate that it's not just done from the viewpoints of the two main characters but you get the thoughts and perspectives of many people. this sounds confusing but it's not. You're looking at this book so it means that you've listened to or read some of the others in the series, so it's a given you should pick this one up and if you haven't read anything else in the series then you should definitely start the beginning of the Roxton Family Saga.
I would leave the rest of the foundation series(Her Duke, His Duchess, Their Graces) until you've read Noble Satyr, Midnight Marriage, and Autumn Duchess. For me, knowing and seeing that family and then seeing how they got there and learning some of the background after was gratifying. I think the Foundation series had been written when I started Family Saga and I had done them after Noble Satyr it would have taken away from the next 2 books in the Saga. You won't regret it.
This is the fourth book in the Roxton Foundation series and I am not in the least surprised to find myself saying that this book is just as fabulous as the first 3! Antonia finally makes her bow before the king in Versailles. What a fabulous setting for a story, especially with Lucinda Brant being the author. The detail she provides on the fashions, the palace, and the people is remarkable. This book was a pleasure to read. I especially love that there are so many strong characters. Antonia and Renard are the main characters but other characters such as Martin Ellicot, Estee and Lord Vallentine could all have books of their own. Vallentine's scenes often had me giggling, he is fabulously funny at times, but also very protective of the people he cares about. They are such wonderful characters and play a large part in my enjoyment of these books. If you have the chance you should also listen to the audio version of this book. In doing so you not only hear a fabulous story, but the performance of Mary Jane Wells brings each character and their story to life. Her talent as a narrator perfectly compliments Lucinda Brant's talented writing.
Several devious plots intertwine as this book progresses to a ending with a very appropriate twist to expectations. Lovely banter between the Duchess and Duke continue and I appreciate the romance and sensual scenes without a physical description of their encounters. It's very delightful and suitable for the period. I would wish these stories to continue although this book does wrap things up there's still Ancient Aunts wandering in the background. Perhaps a ray of hope?
We are proud to announce that THEIR GRACES: Sequel to Her Duke (Roxton Foundation Series Book 4) has been honored with the B.R.A.G.Medallion (Book Readers Appreciation Group). It now joins the very select award-winning, reader-recommended books at indieBRAG.
Loved it. It was a super sweet ending. However I would say the over all intrigue of these three books is not as good as the first and I still think the three could have been made into one book but in saying that it was nice to get all the extra scenes.
