I enjoyed this three book box set, as it meant the fun can continue without a break. The three books are all very different but focus around a campground in the Daniel Boon national forest and Mae West. Mae West has a tight knit group of friends who somehow always ends up finding a dead body and one of her friends becomes the number one suspect, meaning she has no choice but to put her life in danger and investigate. That's great for the reader or listener because we get to go along on the adventure and enjoy the laughs, the mystery and friendship from the comfort of are own chairs.
Hitches, Hideouts & Homicide- I should have written my review when I finished the story as it is the one I remember the least, so I will update my review again after listening too.
Assailants, Asphalt & Alibis.- I think this was my favourite. I loved imaging the laundry ladies camping and hiking, especially one in particular in her pearls.
The girls are off on a treasure hunt that can only take place at a certain time of year but is it just a publicity stunt, especially talk of curses? When there guide is murdered and they have no way of leaving the site until help arrives, Mae's own campsite seems like heaven and curses are not to be messed with. Can she find the killer and prove her own mother isn't a killer?
Valleys, Vehicles & Victims- I think I liked this one the least, mainly because of the way the wedding party treated Mae and her friends. I had no clue who the killer was, I just know I knew who I didn't want it to be.
When Mae books a wedding party she has no idea that it will cause trouble for so many people in town. Mae herself used to know the bride and her family and the local coffee shop owner has a history
that will get her in trouble especially when the father of the bride is killed, dealing with a bridezilla seems like a cake walk. Can Mae find the killer? I
I like the narrator. She has an accent that takes you on a journey where southern charm plays a big part.

All 3 of these stories were amazing. I love Mae West and the laundry ladies. The whole back stories of all of them and their current stories will just endear you to all of them. Mae has a tendency to find bodies and her boyfriend, Hank, being in law enforcement, isn't loving his girl sticking her nose into all these murders that she finds herself drawn into. The stories are so well written and so fun. I could just keep reading these stories for the rest of my life.

Audiobook review:
The narration was good, nice voice with good inflections. Easy to listen as you are traveling, cleaning, exercising etc.

Stories review:
All the stories are lighthearted with several quirky characters set in a small town outside of a National Forest. I found them all entertaining. The murder mysteries have a few twists to keep you guessing.

Audiobook. 3.5

I like the predictability of this series, I love the characters and the variety of the mysteries. But Mae girl… I feel like she’s not solving anything. She’s always wrong and the killer finds her and threatens her. She always thinks she’s right and then she’s so wrong.
