If there’s one thing that professional snowboarder, Wyatt Olsen, is good at, it’s winning, even when the challenge comes in the form of a gorgeous woman who won’t let her heart get in the way of her dreams.
Channing Ryder lost a lot when her twin brother disappeared. When his invitation to the Winter X Games arrives, she decides to risk it all and enter the event posing as her twin. Because who can tell under all her snow gear that she is not a he…
But more time on the slopes means more time around a distractingly charming pro snowboarder…and her biggest competition.
Wyatt Olsen came to Aspen looking for one more easy win. He wasn’t prepared for a fierce female snowboarder to spark a desire for something more than just another medal.
Even though their attraction threatens to melt the slopes, Channing knows she needs to keep her distance or risk being exposed. The last thing she can afford to do is fall. On the mountain. Or for Wyatt. Because if he learns the truth, she could lose everything, including her heart.
Rebecca Sharp always loved a good love story. Let's face it, when you include a romance novel on your 8th grade summer reading list just to see if the teacher would notice (she didn't!), she was bound to give writing one of her own a go. There's really no corner of romance that she doesn't (or wouldn't) enjoy writing, except maybe aliens, much to her husband's dismay, so her large catalog features a little something for everyone. However, her love of shows like NCIS and Criminal Minds makes her favorite stories to write the ones with some kind of suspense and crime solving.
When she's not writing, she's at her office treating patients, and somewhere between those two things, you'll find her wandering the globe with her husband always searching for their next adventure.

*ARC* I received this book at the perfect time! We got a little snowstorm and it just helped set the scene for me, I love when that happens. I couldn't put this one down, The alpha in this one was just alpha, he was so sweet and really hot, sometimes we get way too many alphas who are all rough edges, but Wyatt was everything and more. I think I may have swooned a little. If you want something to melt away some of your winter blues this is the book for you, it has an amazing storyline and so much hotness. I am ready to see what this author cooks up for the next one in this series.
I decided to stop reading when I realized I was highlighting all the things bothering me about this book and not the things I liked.
I was seriously looking forward to this book. I have been dying to read a good snowboarding book since I read Ride by Harper Dallas. This one is so very promising, but my problem is that it's just so wordy, contradictory, and a little obnoxious.
Channing is really what makes the book obnoxious. I would never describe her as a good, strong heroine. She is constantly contradicting herself. An example is when she's telling Wyatt she doesn't want to see him anymore, saying he is a distraction.
"Right now, I can focus; I can making winning my priority. Now kiss me."
Um, excuse me, what? So do you want him or not? I'm getting a serious case of whip lash and if I were Wyatt I would abort mission immediately. Talk about playing games. I've read some of the other reviews that talk about how Channing can't commit to jumps and things so my guess is that this is another way to hammer that home. It's driving me absolutely crazy.
Wyatt is just an odd character. I really don't know what to make of him. He's a blazer wearing, cocky yet sweet snowboarder. I feel like he is an amalgamation of every book boyfriend character imaginable.
This book is really long. Like really really long. Normally I have absolutely no issue with that because there is nothing I love more than a well developed story line, but there is just so much repetition that it's so unnecessary. I swear I've read 5 times that Chance has been gone for 14 weeks, Emmett is an engineer, Aly is a girly-girl, and that skiers suck. Did I mention skiers suck? Yea. Let's get off our high horses please.
As we now know, the book is about a girl pretending to be her twin brother to compete in the X Games for snowboarding. I am 26% in, which is just about 100 pages and we have yet to have anything with any part of the games. Literally nothing. She has gone on the slopes two, maybe three times with her friends, but that wasn't games related, at all. No interviews, no nothing. Are we ever going to move into the actual plot or are we focusing everything on Wyatt?
I can't believe how much this book is driving me crazy. I'm sorry. I truly, truly am. Oddly enough, I am so interested in Nick's story because it's always the quiet ones that have the most depth. I may pick it up, but we shall see.
This was OK, but I didn't love it. I love sports romance and I always appreciate it when the heroine is the athlete in the story (here both main characters are). I liked the mountain setting, and the snow. The writing was OK. I liked the initial premise and I loved how the hero was all into the heroine from the get go.
However, my main problem with the romance was that their relationship was pretty shallow. In my opinion it never developed past attraction and common interest (snowboarding). Consequently, love declarations seemed way too fast, and so did their planning of their future together.
I'm also not a fan of storylines where one characters lies to the other throughout most of the book - you just keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. Here it didn't help that the heroine kept putting that off. I was quite frustrated with her at times.
The ending was also very disappointing - no epilogue whatsoever! :/
I was very intrigued by Ally (the heroine's sister) and Emmett, and I'd like to find out what happened between them, but despite that I'm not sure I'll read the rest of this series.
-------------- POV: 1st person (dual) story: 3 writing: 4 heroine: Channing, 25y, snowboarder and bartender. 3.5 stars. I liked her, but I hated how she kept hiding the truth from the hero. hero: Wyatt, 30y, pro snowboarder. 4 stars. I liked him a lot, he was charming and very sweet to the heroine. secondary characters: 4 couple/romance: 3.5 instalove? Instant attraction, and they fall for each other pretty fast. steam: Moderate/high. angst: Moderate. enjoyment: 3.5 ending:
I didn't know what to expect from this book since I actually don't read a lot of sport romance and I actually have never read a winter sport romance book before, but I have to say, Up in the Air was an amazing surprise and I couldn't put it down.
Up in the air follows the story of Channing - I freaking loved her- she's amazing, badass but above all she's true to herself, she's also awkward and afraid, but she stands her ground and I always love that about a character.
Now lets talk Wyatt shall we? He's amazing! Where can I buy one? I love him, hard, just as his muscles and something else *wink*. In all honestly he's such an amazing book boyfriend; yes, he's totally alpha and protective but he's also caring and a perfect gentleman, hold still my heart, he is a winner in my books.
Another thing I loved about this book, the dual POV'S, I always appreciate when and author give us an inside of both characters thoughts.
I loved the way - the author - described all the tricks the snowmassholes did! I loved the way she described the scenery, her story telling is flawless and I'm definitely looking forward to reading more of her work.
Un in the air is simply brilliant - author - bring her A game , don't miss the opportunity to read this jewel!
Up In The Air is a great story to get lost in. It’s long, making it hard to read in one sitting. I loved the story, it’s a well written book with a very engaging plot.
Channing and Wyatt light up the pages and the slopes in Up In The Air. They each have secrets, but the tension and chemistry between them is to die for. It’s electric and can be felt by the reader. Everything about this book is vivid, the characters and the setting. It was unique, my first read about snowboarders. I am so intrigued to see what comes next in this series.
Maybe I am a sucker for stories where the 2 MCs meet on opposing sides and they have to figure what's more important - winning the game or winning in life. I do like to see healthy competition between the couple has they duke out their differences (and similarities) in their chosen field.
So Channing has a chip on her shoulder coz her brother seems to be better than her and he has recently abandoned her due to his injuries. So she does what any normal sane competitive twin sister will do - she registers for the competition he got invited too (she didn't). Sparks fly (and almost melts the ice) when she runs into her brother's main competition...and the games begin.
Wyatt, on the other hand, is about to wrap up his winning career and is at a loss what to do next with his life. Running into Channing seems to be about the best thing for him. But he has to win over his biggest rival - Channing's brother - to show Chance that Channing is not just another win he is aiming for.
I genuinely had an absolute blast reading this book. Everything was on point. It was cute, sweet, and naughty. It had a good back story, tension, and some feels. It has an interesting conflict and tons more potential stories to follow.
I stumbled upon this story and look forward to reading more. Up in the Air was smart, fun, and the best part of my day. Even if I personally prefer the lodge...I loved the time on the mountain.
First of all, I love sports books, especially when the girl is an athlete. Channing was a fun character, though a little frustrating at times haha. She knew how to work hard and was a really good sister. I loved the immediate chemistry between her and Wyatt. He was a great guy and I'm jealous of Channing. The side characters made the story great. Emmett and Nick were interesting to watch and I'm really looking forward to seeing more inside their heads. Ally is so spunky and sweet and I love how she holds her own against Emmett. The smut was really good and I loved all the build up and smoldering looks! I'm definitely looking forward to book 2 soon!
Let's start off by saying that this author is fairly new to us this year but, we have to say that we are loving the books we have read so far of hers and are so glad that we discovered her.
I really enjoyed this story as it was something new and different for us with a snowboarding theme and a first time for us, and we really enjoyed it.
I loved Wyatt right from the very beginning as he was sweet, kind, affectionate, loving, sexy and a total gentleman that always put his partner's needs before his own. What we really loved about him the most is that he was so in tune with the emotions and needs of Channing and how she processed stuff whether it was in a good a bad way, he always seemed to know what she needed it when she needed it. "So Sweet !"
Channing for me was not a like-able character at first as she was so standoffish and non-approachable but, that did not stop Wyatt in any way but, as the story progressed, and we got to know her better and understood her better things started making sense. Channing was not one of those women who was really comfortable in her own skin as she was all tom-boy and really didn't know how to act all girly and when she tried it was a clumsy attempt then you had the twin separation going on, and then you had a woman who was experiencing a whole other world and a lot of firsts and other than her craft which she was excellent and confident about all the other stuff was a learning experience for her.
Overall, we loved the story and the camaraderie between friends and Ally and Emmett always sniping at one another, and then you had that slow burn romance thing going that turned to fireworks.I loved that the fact that both Wyatt and Channing fell for one another when they were both struggling or floundering in their personal life but, once meeting one another, they now had a clearer vision how to tackle the things that were weighing them down.
I love that this couple were perfect and made for one another because Wyatt was so patient and kind to Channing where others who have just written her off.
We love that Channing's twin brother although dealing with the blow to his career and his own emotional pain and his leaving was not all selfish but, a sacrifice he was willing to make for his sister's happiness even though what was going on between the two of them was ripping out his heart too. What a great story infused with love and laughter and showed us just how messy life can get but, at the end of it all it just shows you that goals and ambition and being driven about your craft are fantastic things but, if you don't slow down a bit an experience what other's life treasures are within your reach you just might miss something spectacular!
This was a new author to me, but this won't be the last book I pick up from her! The writing flowed well, and the characters are developed fully. The only thing that knocked this down for me was I felt like it could have been sped up a little. It just seemed like not everything was crucial to telling the story, so it could have been left out. I don't know if anyone remembers the movie Motocrossed, but this reminded me a lot of that, but with snowboarding. Wyatt and Channing were great together, it just took Channing a long time to let her self see that. The secondary characters were great too, and I would love to find out what happens with all of them. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
This book was given to me free in exchange for an honest review
The story of snowboarding twin Channing and reigning champion gold medalist snowboarder Wyatt. This book was right up my alley. I love a sports romance and I particularly like ones about snowboarding or surfing so it gets a high rating purely for having all the trophes I personally love.
The characters Channing is a local who has boarded every day for most of her life and you really felt that. She was strong and athletic; a tomboy with little practice at flirting. All things I love in a heroine.
Wyatt was a winner at everything. Every year he wins the local competition; The X games, but this is his final year competing. He was handsome and confident yet really caring and considerate. I wanted him to be my boyfriend!
The story This story had that perfect level of sporting detail and language. I am not a fan of books which gloss over the sport or the reality of being an athlete. This book was great. You really got a sense of their ability and their passion for being on the mountain on a board.
Channing is all cut up about her twin brothers accident which prevents him from competing in their local X games so she registers on his behalf and decides to pretend to be him so she can be in the comp. But she runs into heartthrob Wyatt almost literally as she is registering.
Wyatt then proceeds to woo Channing. There is a little instalove on his part but Channing resists him knowing she is focused on winning the comp and deceiving him, thus creating a delicious slow burn push/pull scenario which I love.
I really enjoyed the story and found it difficult to put down. Will she drop out of the comp and come clean? Is Wyatt too good to be true? Will the mysterious twin come back? I loved it all.
And let’s not forget the hot scenes. They were hot! A tight Under Armour sweater does it for me everytime!
But, although I am giving this 5 glorious stars...
There is always a gripe. My gripe was that Channing was a bit of a dick with all her umming and ahhing. She was always chickening out of her decisions and semi blaming her brother for things.
I just wanted to shake her sometimes and yell ‘Look ahead? How on earth can this play out well? Get yourself out of this mess before you really balls it up!’
I know it was part of the story and that we are all ruled by our insecurities but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t annoy me. And yet part of me didn’t want her to err from her chosen course because she’s met a guy. Sheesh, I was so divided. Hence I couldn’t put the book down!
And just one more gripe, because I just have to. ‘Son of a biscuit!’ 14 times? Ha. I still loved it. It’s not often I give 5 stars but I thoroughly loved this book.
My first read from this author and I am addicted. I loved the side characters; Emmet and Ally, who can resist that? I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
I thought this was an interesting setup of Channing pretending to be her twin brother so she could compete in the X games as a snowboarder because her brother suffered a devastating injury that made him impossible to compete. So, she started to take his place. The complication was that she was competing against a multiple medal winner Wyatt that was on the verge of retiring due to his age. As soon as they met sparks fly and the chemistry was palatable.
My issue was that conflict really didn’t play a part until the very end. Yes, Channing had some internal conflict about it throughout the story of whether to tell him especially when he was teaching her a certain skills, but it wasn’t really a big of a deal until the end. I was anticipating that there was going more drama and struggle as she tried to keep the secret. For example, she was disguised as her brother and she had to hide as she has an interaction with Wyatt, but that never happened.
Then I felt the longer that she didn’t tell him the secret after all the trust they had developed, the worse it got and was hoping that it would kind of been dropped or she would have told him before he found out himself. I just felt like that went on too long. It made the story dragged a bit and drifted my interest a bit.
What I did love was how smitten Wyatt became with Channing right from the get go. It never felt forced or contrived. He was very determined to pursue her, but not in an annoying or jerky way. He was very sweet and protective as well as very sexy as he flirted with her. I loved he was protective he was with her like walking her to her car after her shift of work. I liked how he was teaching her the skill. He was very respectful of her, very caring and loving. He did some great romantic things for Channing that was special to her. He really showed his heart. I loved him.
The spicy stuff was extremely spicy. There were a lot of them than ranged from heated kissing to foreplay to full on love scenes. Their first time scene was perfect. It was done in perfect location. The connection was there. It was just a really good scene. There were just great build up and anticipation with every sexy scene. After the first time scene, there were more sexy scenes. Those scenes did border on a little bit too much because it felt every time they met there would be another scene. The one at his place was fine, but there were a lot in between stuff thar could have been cut down.
Overall, I did really like the love story between Channing and Wyatt. They had a great connection. The chemistry was great. I liked seeing them fall in love with each other. They had some really romantic moments. The training scenes were great. The intimacy was there. It was spicy. I liked the storyline and the secondary characters. Even though I did feel like it dragged at times, I did enjoy the overall journey of Channing and Wyatt. I’m definitely interested in continuing with the series and seeing love stories from the secondary characters especially Chance and the one between Ally and Emmett that’s going to be interesting one.

Reviewed on behalf of 3 Degrees of Fiction Blog This book had me in tears from page One. Not because the plot was particularly sad, but because the overall mood of the book was so SAD. The characters were so beautifully broken and sad and lonely. Each of them in their own way giving glimpses of stories and what’s about to come in later books. This book was about Channing and Wyatt, two snowboarders with their own demons to fight and secrets to hide. I fell in love with them immediately. I don’t know if it is because I was just recently boarding myself, but I was there in the snow with them. I could feel the cold air, the powder under my feet and with every trick they made, I flew with them, even though I have never done a trick myself. The author managed to paint a very powerful picture with only her words. I saw everything in front of my inner eye. The people, the landscape and I even felt the things the characters felt. I loved every single word and sentence of the book so much that this might be the first book I buy in print even though I have the e-book. I never do that, but this one was so exceptional I might be making an exception and put it in my shelves so I can dream of snow and sun and the stars and love every time I look at my shelves and this book in particular. I can absolutely not wait for the other books in this series which sound to be a lot darker than this one. I will definitely follow the author to not miss any new releases and hope they will be as good as this one.
Sports romance novels are totally my jam! But this is only the second book where the story is centered around snowboarding. To top it off the heroine is the jock. All the yes!! I flew through this book because I couldn’t put it down.
I’m a Southern California girl who prefers books to the great outdoors so I know squat about the sport, but the blow-by-blow description is so vivid I felt like I was right there on the mountain.
Wyatt and Channing as a couple weren’t the obvious pairing yet they made perfect sense. The chemistry between the two was so hot it could melt snow caps. Separately they were just as awesome. Channing is such a strong heroine. She’s determined and strong, yet she still had a vulnerability that made her so real. And Wyatt. Oh, Wyatt! He’s sweet and charming with just enough alpha male tendencies to make me tingly in all the right places.
Up in the Air was such a great surprise. Excellent storytelling, captivating characters, and writing that keeps you glued to each page are just some of the things that Rebecca Sharp brings to the table! Looking forward to being back on the mountain with the SnowmassHoles. 5 stars.
I was really looking forward to diving in to this book. I really rate this author and the setting for this book was unusual - snowboarding isn’t the most obvious sport to use as a backdrop.
I know very little about snowboarding but the detail in this book seemed impressive. That’s without the love story going on. Oh my! Channing and Wyatt are not the most obvious couple either - a poster boy for the Abercrombie & Fitch lifestyle and a tomboy. But they were totally believable and it worked so well.
The storyline didn’t go the way I thought it would either - yes, they got their HEA but there were enough twists and turns along the way to keep me hooked. Oh, and the way it finished set things up nicely for future books in the series (I hope!)
It’s safe to say I loved this book! Can’t recommend it enough.
This book is genuinely riveting. Plenty of action and drama. The characters are well developed, and have the right amount of angst to contend with.
It's set on a snowy mountain where snowboarders roam. Channing is a female snowboarder who's more like one of the guys, thanks to the influence of her twin brother and his mates.
There's a great deal of personal growth in this tale. Inner battles as much as the battle for gold on the slopes.
Oh, and a really sexy guy, of course. The build-up of tension is excruciating. And hot!
Steamy in the snow! Wyatt is Amazing with a capital A! He is a sweetheart, with enough Alpha male to make you swoon. Channing is not your typical girl, more tomboy, but I love her all the more for it. No one has ever really made her feel girly and sexy before Wyatt, and of course he has to be the competition. But even knowing that, Channing can't stay away. The attraction between them is hott enough to melt the Mountain slopes. The "date" night they have is soooo dreamy...swoon! Can't wait for more of the Snowmass men! Looking forward to Frost the most!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I absolutely loved this book! I'm from Texas so I've never experienced enough snow to do anything other than build a mini snowman, but this book was so detailed I could imagine being on the mountain with them. (I totally want to go to Colorado now) I loved the atmosphere and the rivalry that comes along with sports. My girl Channing is fabulous! Her ability to keep everything together, and her faithfulness to her brother and the sport was so beautiful. I often feel girls in books tend to lose sight of their dream early in the book because they meet a swoon worthy guy, and Channing's dedication was really refreshing. Wyatt? OH WERE DO I BEGIN. I absolutely love him, and all the sweet nicknames he gives Channing. Also, I looooooove the snowmassholes and they're super cool nicknames.
I need to read more snowboarder books. This was so good, I will definitely be finishing this series soon. I’ve read a lot of sports romances where yes, they are athletes but the sport itself was just there in the background - that’s not the case at all here. And I love that aspect of the storyline. I also loved seeing Channing find herself away from her twin brother’s shadow. Wyatt did an amazing job of building her confidence and showing her her self worth. Highly recommended.
This is a new author to me, and I was unsure what to expect, but I need not have worried. Channing is a female snowboarder, who is more of a tomboy, and Wyatt is the sexy alpha, who is her competition. The chemistry between these two is steamy. This story is filled with angst, drama, action, and love. I look forward to reading more of this authors’ work, and I will certainly be adding her to my favourites and 1-click lists!
A nice romance story with lots of sources of “will-they-won’t-they” tension, two engaging main characters, enough details of the settings and sports for it all to seem plausible, and some very steamy intimate scenes. Saucy chick-lit and I enjoyed it from start to end.
I loved this book. Channing and Wyatt' s story draws you in and holds you captivated. I cant wait for the chance to get to know more about the other characters and find out their stories as well. I will be watching out for the next instalment. A must read.
I really enjoyed reading Channing and Wyatt's story. There chemistry was undeniable. Channing was reeling from her brother deciding to go off the grid for a bit after a serious injury in a snowboarding competition. Channing wanting to win for her brother Chance, and prove herself in the winter X games. Then she meets Wyatt who changes her outlook on what's important. This book is a definite must read for romance lovers.
"When Channing decides to enter the snowboarding competition as her twin brother Chance, she never expected to fall for her competition Wyatt. Can Channing win the competition for her brother and still keep Wyatt?
I really enjoyed the background of the story and that it was centered around snowboarding. Even if you had no clue about snowboarding, the Author explained the terminology enough that you would understand how it works.
There were many twists and turns in this book and the chemistry between Wyatt and Channing was off the charts. I can’t wait to read the next story in this series, the secondary characters have a lot of mystery that I can’t wait to discover. "
I loved Channing and Wyatt. I loved that straight from the outset they lusted for each other so strongly. Wyatt was like a storm, he came out of nowhere and just swept Channing straight up. He can tell she is keeping something/s from him but he doesn't push her. He helps her and cares for her and protects her. He is very loving and she equally falls for him, straight over that mountain. They are so good for one another and you can see that what they have is special and hot. Yes, Channing is secretive about something's but not in a malicious way. She is a very loving person and does what she does out of love, maybe ill guided at times but still love. They are so strong together, you can feel it, you can see it and that really does translate in everything they are. Tenderness abound. Unequivocal devotion.
Wyatt & Channing heat up the pages of this book!! Even though I read book 2 before book 1, I still enjoyed reading their story! They are so freakin cute together and I loved the storyline of this book!! I really enjoyed this book!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
