The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Vol.6 By Saekisan
The summer vacation continues. This volume picks up right after the end of the fifth volume. This volume felt much shorter than the previous one. Before I realized it had already ended. Another wholesome and diabetic volume nonetheless!
The summer vacation went great for the two. Mahiru got something she didn't have before. Love of the family. However, their dates weren't all that good thanks to the rain. The festival part was short but good.
"Her expression was blank, as if she had erased all emotion from her face."
The main attraction of this volume would be the appearance of a stranger, who turns out to be Mahiru's father. Who has shown up out of the blue to see Mahiru. This part of the story felt a bit ambiguous. I believe it needed more story in this regard. Mahiru's childhood was horrible thanks to her parents, who barely showed her any love or any affection at all.
Now it's time for speculation, I believe there's an indication of illness of the father. A life-threatening one that might have caused his urge to see his daughter. But that's all speculation it could also be. I just had a change of heart, though that's seems unlikely.
Amane with Mahiru continue sorting out his past relationships during their visit with his parents. They also manage to get in a home date that was interesting. After returning home, the couple manage to make it to a summer festival going there with Itsuki and Chitose. Interesting dynamics between the two couples. And then came the surprise visitor from Mahiru's past. It will be interesting to know how that will play out in future volumes.
