Wolf Cursed

Rate this book
I’ve been lied to my entire life.

My whole life we’ve been moving from place to place to hide that we were witches from the world.

At least that’s what my mother told me.

But then, this gorgeous guy shows up in our small town and tells me that on the first full moon after my eighteenth birthday, I will turn into a wolf.

What he and my mother neglected to tell me was that no girl who was half-witch and half-wolf could survive the shift. At least none did in the last hundred and twenty years.

FINN

I could’ve never dreamed of meeting a female half-witch and half-wolf.

She wasn’t allowed to exist.

And even if by some miracle she could survive the transition, she would become all the alphas’ and priestesses’ nightmare and all the werewolf packs and covens out there would try to catch and kill her.

Why? That’s a different question for another day.

First, Spencer had to survive the shift. Would I be able to help her make it through? I would die before I would let something happen to her. But I was afraid that I alone wouldn’t be enough to protect her from what was coming.

An intriguing start to a new series. Fast paced and steamy but nothing explicit. A hybrid Wolf? Not so bad. A hybrid witch… ok. A hybrid witch Wolf can’t happen. They die. Can the stranger help Spencer survive? Is he for real? Or are they on the move again? Can’t wait for the next book.

Wolf Cursed is the first book in a new series by Lana Melyan and it's set in the fantasy world of witches and wolves. I've read a few books by this author and like those previous books this is set over quite a short time frame during which lots of things happen.
Wolf Cursed really grabbed my interest and I'll definitely be reading others in this series. If you're new to the fantasy genre then grab this as it's a great introduction and I'm betting you'll read the rest of the series and the other books written by Melyan too.

This was a really good shifter book with way to follow story line.. I’m very interested to see what the next book has in store and the cliffhanger is completely mind blowing… I never expected that 😳

Love this start of a new series. Fast paced, lots of action from the start. Read it in one day. Haven't done that with a book in awhile. Definitely enjoyed it and can't wait for part 2.

This is a clean, urban fantasy, YA book.
Abandoned series.

FMC, Spencer, is a 17 (almost 18) year old girl who is a senior in high school. One night, when Spencer is being assaulted by her boyfriend, Finn shows up to save the day. Finn opens Spencer’s eyes to the fact that she is half wolf, not only a witch like she thought. The adults, Finn and Claire (the mother), are keeping other secrets from Spencer as well.

The whole book is a day-by-day countdown to Spencer’s shift. It was kinda boring.

The fact that Finn connected more with Claire (the mother) than with Spencer, his supposed love interest, was weird. They stayed up late at night talking with each other and kept secrets from Spencer together. I’d be pissed at my older boyfriend if he showed that much interest in my mom.

This book was a waste of time in my opinion. Honestly, if I’d have known it was a clean YA novel then I never would have picked it up at all.

- 📚 Series No cliffhanger ending
- 👀 POV: Dual, first person
- 📖 Urban Fantasy
- ❣️ Male/female
- 🎱 Tropes: secrets and lies, hidden heritage, damsel in distress, shifters,
- 🧁 FMC: young 17/18 year old girl who seems to trust too easily. I don’t know much about her personality so far. This whole book everyone treats her like a cancer child who is expected to die. Even though they refuse to tell her they expect her to die soon.
- 👥 MMC: protective/possessive, nice, personality(?): none so far.

Teenage witch meets handsome young wolf and learns that she too is half wolf. Except, oh no, wolves and witches can’t have children, it’s against supernatural law, and their female progeny, should the law be broken, will die. It’s all very dramatic. The girl’s mother flails between refusing to tell the girl the truth and vowing not to let her die - despite not telling the girl about the danger. Handsome young wolf vows to help girl, somehow gets mother on side and invites them both to his remote mansion. They go, of course, because going to a stranger’s house when you’ve been running and hiding from everybody for years is a perfectly natural move, right? Yes. Then, handsome young wolf invites his friends to come too and the girl makes it through the shift alive (go on, tell me you didn’t see that coming). Another handsome young wolf turns up and girl runs to him but is intercepted by the OG handsome young wolf and the stranger leaves. Turns out stranger wolf is girl’s mate and he intends to fight for her. Oh yeah and because she survived the turn she is suddenly the most powerful Great Alpha of all the wolves, so all the wolves in the world will want to kill her. Makes perfect sense. Then the book ends. Right there, barely in the middle.

Spencer and finn

First book in this interesting storyline. My first read with this author.
Looks like the series is focussed on Spencer (a girl) who is a witch like her mother but her father is a wolf so after her 18th birthday on the next full moon she will shift but it will kill her bed of her magic side only males live because there magic is not strong and they lose it when they shift the first time. Female don't if they survive they will be powerful.

This book kind of ends on a cliff hanger it's not said but it looks like Finn his her mate because of there connection but is it because they are two supernaturals. But Eric shows up creepy and unkind.who's her mate?
I liked this book but I'm a romantic and loved Finn if it goes down the road he is not her true mate but her love choice im kind of bummed.I hate push and pull relationships so I marked it down because I felt poor Finn is going to have a fight on his hands or a broken heart

good read

I love finding new authors. So when Lana asked if I wanted to read her new shifter book coming out I was excited. It is definitely young adult, there was some steam but nothing explicit. It definitely grabs your attention from the very beginning with Spencer and her mom always having to keep it a secret, that they are witches. Then when things get uncomfortable between her and her boyfriend and a stranger steps in Spencer is unsure of what to believe. Finn turns Spencer’s world upside down when he helps reveal that there is another secret her mother has been keeping from her. This was a well written story that keeps you entertained, easy to read and characters that just grab you. I will definitely be looking forward to the next book as I need to know what happens.

Really enjoy this type of premise; a girl learns there is more to her than she thought! Spencer thinks she is a full witch, but she is in for some surprises. Some very dangerous surprises! Luckily, she finds some help from wolf shifter Finn. He offers his support in what is proving to be a very difficult time for Spencer; too many secrets and outdated ideas causing problems. Liked the connection between Spencer and Finn! Too cute! I was a bit annoyed that Spencer didn’t cut a certain someone out of her life at a faster rate, but she mostly handles things well. I would’ve liked a bit more action and depth to the story, but I still found this story entertaining. I’m looking forward to the next book! So sad at the ending though; there is going to be so much drama next time! I’d say this has a cliffhanger ending. Overall, a fun read!

This is the first of Lana Melyan's books I have read. It introduces us to the character of Spencer, a high school girl living with here mother. Her whole life Spencer has moved from town to town, place to place in order to protect their secret - they're witches.
When they move to a new town, Spencer meets Finn. He seems to think he knows all about her, and tells her things which can't possibly be true. Except they are. Finn is a wolf shifter. And so is Spencer.

As the story progresses we find out more about Finn and his background, as well as more about wolf lore. And herein lies the problem - female half wolf, half witches shouldnt exist. And after they turn 18, and shift for the first time, they don't.

Can Finn and Spencer find a way for her to survive? Will the other wolves support her? And who are the mysterious group following her every move?

Really good start to a new series!

I really enjoyed reading this latest book by Author Lana Melyan. It’s definitely my kind of read! What’s not to love about witches and werewolves and curses? Makes an awesome story for sure.

I don’t want to spoil anything by accidentally giving anything away. But I will say that I couldn’t stop reading once I started. I just had to keep going to know what happens. That’s how interesting it was for me.

And with that ending I just wish there was book two already out! So good! I highly recommend this new story as a must read for those who enjoy a good paranormal story like this kind.

Always on the run, high school senior Spencer is almost ready to graduate. Her boyfriend Brian the handsome football player decides to get a lot too handsy at a party. Fortunately a guy passing by keeps Spencer from being hurt. She heads home not feeling well and angry. She hears a howl but her neighbors don’t have any dogs. The best few days the handsome stranger continues to show up with stories of werewolves and her being a wolf. It’s time for her to shift for the first time. She believes him since she knows the supernatural exists. She is a witch after all. But vampire and werewolves are the things of movies and books. Until they are not!

Good read

Im reviewing all three books in the trilogy. The storyline is well thoughtout and delivered, although the ending was rushed which was ashame. I didnt get bored of the story or the characters. The main characters were likeable and this isnt a reverse haram which I hate. The FMC stays true to the one she fell in love with from beginning to end. It was ashame the epilogue wasnt about them but it was a twist. Also not sure on the mate issue it was a bit wishy washy but on the whole it was a good read. Highly recommended.

Bliss

Is ignorance bliss? In this case Spencer might disagree. Because ignorance would mean certain death. Finn finds the curiosity that is Spencer and educates her on being a werewolf. He is just trying to be a good citizen. He got more than he was looking for. Now if the can convince Clare, Spencer’s mom, to join the save Spencer campaign life would be golden. Minus a random strange wolf that is stalking Spencer.

I enjoyed this one alot. It was a light hearted, clean, fantasy romance book. It is about shifters, becoming werewolves. The main character has a tricky spell around her to shift into a wolf. I found the story flowed freely, and all the other characters were well liked.
Only downside is it ended with a cliffhanger,so I must find the next book..
If u like shifter romance, this is a good one.

Good Book.

The only reason I have it only 4 stars because of the cheese-fest. No one says "I love you" after a month of know wach other and most of that spent apart. They moved way too fast. There was no suspense. I like a little tug and pull but I will read the next one to see what happens.

Great start

If you love shifter romance you will be very happy with this book. It does end in a cliff hanger but book two is out so I'm ok with it .
Has enough twist and new thrills ahead to keep you guessing. The cast is likable would have liked them fleshed out a bit more but I'm sure we will get to that in book two so we will see.

Half witch, half wolf - a dangerous combo that Spencer is about to find out! Classic YA coming of age, hits all the expected tropes, nice sprinkle of hot romance, easy read. Lots of characters quickly added at the end of this book so lots to find out in book two. Love the wolf colour!

entertaining

I enjoyed this book, the characters and world circumstances were well written. I would like a bit more steam personally but it is suitable for a younger audience this way which I am not . Will finish the series.

Okay

I didn't like the Insta love and definitely didn't pick up any chemistry between the main characters. I read lots of these books and this was not a favourite. I'm not interested enough to pick up the next one, don't care enough about the characters
