Grumpy Boss Daddy

If there's a place of my own, it's with him and our secret baby.

It never occurs to me that I have a dalliance with a billionaire who's 13 years older.

Our fling dates back to six years ago. Since my mother died, I've indulged in sorrow until he saved the day.

At his apartment, I poured out my grievances, and his voice was full of compassion. Getting tipsy, we forgot the world, and a sizzling kiss intensified into lovemaking.

He's a virile man with charisma, with whom I could take a break from harsh reality, yet his brilliance put me in the shade.

Feeling inferior, I left, only to discover I got knocked up.

Now facing him again, I owe him an explanation, and he owes me a home.

But while my trust issues melt away, a stalker who takes secret snaps of my daughter terribly concerns me.

The menace seems never far away...

Grumpy Boss Daddy is a standalone book in Babies and Grumpy Bosses series. It's a full-length romance packed with heart and heat! !
No cheating or cliffhangers and a satisfying happily ever after.

I had to check to see if the author was not from the US. She lives in TX, but no idea if she was born there. It's only relevant because of several odd word choices in the book. Using the word fancy, as in "would you fancy doing that?", Or jumper instead of sweater... There's been others too. Those are not words used in Cleveland, can confirm as someone who's lived here all my life.

I don't mind different dialects if the setting is correct, or the characters moved from that region. But this really threw me off.

Also... In the beginning of the book, it talks about Like buying a football team. Later it turns out they actually bought a soccer team. Again, very confusing.

The plotline with Elle's dad, Kevin, and Megan, really shook me. The author is incredibly insensitive with her portrayal of people with infertility, and people who have had miscarriages. It's not correct that "...people can go crazy when someone close to them has a kid and they can’t have one themselves.” No. Just no. Infertility is devastating, and the author is incredibly insensitive towards people who are struggling with infertility. All of this rubbed me the wrong way. It's such a weird plotline and doesn't add anything to the story.

I really didn't like this book, and it reminded me why I don't really like contemporary romance novels. These people did not act realistically. The only "normal" people are the leads, a best friend, and a grandma. The other best friend was a jerk for most of the book. The MMC's mom was invasive and overbearing. Obv the FMC's dad and his spouse were erratic and over the top.

Idk, maybe I'm just lucky in that I don't actually know people like this? Definitely know a few unpredictable people, but not like this.

I liked this story because, I can relate to the person of Elle. Going through the grief of losing her mother and the disappointment of her father’s actions on the day of her mother’s funeral would break most people, it did Elle. So, she does something she wouldn’t normally do and consequences happen. Becoming pregnant didn’t stop her from moving forward and doing what was necessary to provide for her baby once it was born.

Elle and Luke relationship once they got back together, was very refreshing no kinky sex or fucking like rabbits throughout the pages, not that Luke didn’t want to, but he was a gentleman throughout the book and only took the lead when he needed to.

Now as far as Elle’s friends and family are concerned her grandmother awesome, but her father was a disillusion hot mess and his wife was delusional broken woman. Luke’s mother was suffering from the empty nester syndrome and Brian was living under the illusion that just because he was there through what Elle went through that gave him owners rights and Carly was the only person in the house that was dealing with a full deck of cards.

In the the end love conquers all.

GOOD STORY; FULL OF ACTION, SUSPENSE, LOVE AND A WHOLE LOT OF CRAZY 😜

Grumpy Guy + Heartbroken Girl= Secret Baby

Grumpy Boss Daddy is a cute little quick read of Luke and Elle, the older grumpy boss who wants nothing of women after his ex used him, Elle sophmore college girl who just lost her mom found out about her dads betrayal and now is at the bar drowning her sorrows. One night is what they agree to, but 2 months later and 2 pink lines Elle now has a reminder of that night. The story goes 6 years later where she now meets the nee owner of the Cleveland Bulldogs and she is there to take the photographs as being the head photographer. This starts the whirlwhind of a romance that is cute and sweet and full of hope but it did start a little tense. Throw in a cute 5 year old and the little family is perfect but perfect doesnt come without a case of dad drama, psychotic stepmother schemes, stalkers and a mom who wants lots and lots of do over grandbabies. These 2 have their work cut out to forge their way to their HEA.

Not for me. I like at least a little realism in a story. First the title Luke was not grumpy or Elle's boss. Then it seemed to just keep throwing unimaginable obstacles in the way. A father caught in the middle of sex on the day of his wife's funeral, a couple days later unruly customers that leads her to go home with a stranger who she has a one-night stand. Then six years later she runs into him and when he finds out he has a daughter and this part aggrivates me because I've seen it a couple times the female character takes forever telling the kid and the male character has to prove he will be there before they tell the kid but it is never a good time. Then the father and his wife turn psychotic, she has a stalker, a delusional roommate, Luke's crazy mom, Luke's gold digging ex. Elle blowing everything off because she can't handle it. Trying to seem like the perfect mom but doing nothing to really protect her daughter.

Elle is just dealing with losing her mother when her father is a no show to the funeral. She arrives to her family's home to catch him with another woman and to learn that they got married that day. She meets Luke and has an amazing night with him but leaves while he is still asleep. Its not long before she learns that she is pregnant from their time together. Now years later they run into each other, and he learns that they share a child. Elle is still having some issues with her father and his wife. Elle and Luke are navigating things together and sparks reignite between them. Can they get a second chance to be together? Will her father be a problem?

This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Elle and Luke had a one night stand and she gets pregnant but never tells him. Granted Elle was in a very bad space at the time but to not track Luke down and tell him she was pregnant is pretty crappy. Six years later he sees her again and lo and behold there is his little girl. This was an okay read, some excitement from Elle's creepy father and stepmom but I wish Elle had been more responsible and would have just told Luke when she got pregnant. The six years later and not telling the dad is just wrong. Good storyline with great steam and some great characters. And Elle and Luke and the daughter Amy were a great family.

This is the fifth book in this series, and this is Elle and Luke’s story. Elle has just lost her mom and finds out about her father’s remarriage on the day of the funeral, and when she meets Luke, they spend a passionate night together, with her leaving before he wakes up. Now years later Elle and Luke cross paths again, how will he react to finding out he is a dad to a 5-years-old little girl Amy? This is a well written story which has family, loss, grief, emotions, secrets, challenges, drama, and love, which leads to a heartfelt and entertaining page turner.

Luke and Elle's story had me in their corner. They were both experiencing some hardships in their lives when they met and had a one-night stand. Fast forward six years and they reconnect. Luke finds out he has a daughter. This story centers around family and I connected with both Luke and Elle. I loved the way they came together for their child.

This one had a ton of crazy things going on. Luke and Elle are dealing with a very unstable situation between her dad, her dad's new wife, his mom and dad, a potential stalker, CPS, an ex girlfriend, and her roommates. Like a powder keg waiting to go off. Everything seems to center on their one night six years ago and the results from their time together.

Luke and Elle have an amazing night together but she's scared and leaves. So when Luke sees her 6 years later, he gets a surprise of a lifetime. Can Luke get Elle to give them a second chance at love and a happily ever after as a family? This was a crazy, hot, steamy read that you will want to try.
