After returning to Noston with her new fiancÉ Vik, the crown prince of Paffuto, Claire Martino must face all of the figures from her life before she became the disgraced daughter of the Duke. Among those in attendance at the ball where Claire will be introduced to Nostonians as Prince Vik's fiancÉe is Charlotte, Claire's younger half-sister and the cause of all her misfortune.
And Charlotte, determined to maintain her status as the most-beloved main character, is clearly plotting a way to steal the spotlight... and maybe even Prince Vik! After a dramatic twist, Claire will be forced to make a life-changing decision that will decide the future of everyone she holds dear in this world!
Shortie review for Vol.2 to 5: The series continues to be fun, I really liked seeing Vik and Claire get closer and closer and with the help of some people finally take that step. I did feel that things were a tad odd at times, I mean, Claire is a governess/nanny but you barely see her do anything and she is mostly away, but I did like the moments we did see her with the girl she is teaching. There are tons of fun magic moments, I loved that Claire was honest and hardworking, we see that Charlotte is a real mess, and there is a big shock which leads to a new arc with the help of those flashbacks (which apparently aren't that much of a flashback, I am curious to see what they really are and what it means). I wasn't really a fan of the new bit, because I have read too many books like this and I know butterfly effect, if you change one thing something else may happen, not to mention THAT character was around as well. I wonder though if Liu knows. Oh, and dear Claire, I like you, you are strong and awesome character with a fab personality, but your sister (step) is just a fucking evil mastermind. I don't think you can fix it. Though maybe you can make it so that she isn't too bad, I mean, holy crap that scene before the new arc. And I still love the art! I am curious how this one will go and if everyone will get a happy ending (or at least the characters I care about, haha).
Claire Martino has managed to land on her feet in Paffuto. Thanks to her hard work and dedication paired with her honest personality, she’s starting to make a name for herself. Unfortunately, that also means she’s caught the attention of the people behind her mother’s death. At least she has the protection of the crown, but her new engagement to Vik also means she will have to face the people she ran away from.
I’ve been really enjoying this series. Following Claire as she creates a new life for herself and getting to know all the characters has been wonderful. I really liked that we didn’t see anything about Claire’s life being a dating game for a while, but then it came in and shook things up just when things were getting really interesting!
Thankfully, the story is still good, but I’m a little iffy about how we suddenly speed through events to get to where the story can get going again. It’ll be interesting to see where we go from here and what Claire will choose to do about the different game saves that are the different paths her life can take. I’m most interested in seeing what her sister, Charlotte, does this time around. We got to see exactly how far she’s willing to go to make things go her way, so it’ll be interesting to see what the similarities and differences will be this time around.
Intriguing turn of events to go back to the beginning of the story and live things all over again. As if the author didn’t like where the original story was going and needed to restart things to make a longer series.

So many WTF moments here. Charlotte is just dumb, and seems to be aware of the the game routes and that she is the protagonist. Unclear if she knows it’s a game, but that’s what makes her so sure the world is HERS. Claire is also dumb and thinks she can fix things by going back to the point before her initiation. Unfortunately for her, Dion is also aware because their magic is linked 🙄 he’s an idiot that was disinherited - not sure why he took the chance of using his magic on her when told not to…he appeared to be trying to make it so she can’t do her initiation, but that was resolved immediately, so 🤷🏻♀️ I find this notion that just because Lindel doesn’t exist as an independent kingdom, a person can’t be initiated there to make no sense. Then nobody from this area will ever have their full magic potential?
Claire thinks that Charlotte was fine until after initiation, because she didn’t notice anything wrong with her before that. Uh…you didn’t notice anything until you were already ostracized, you idiot! Charlotte is already a twisted little bitch, and trying to somehow manage things so she still meets Vik in a similar way is ridiculous. Obviously time has completely changed, so nothing will be the same. I hate it when rebirthed characters are stupid enough to think everything is exactly as it was before, when that makes zero sense if you have a brain. I’m annoyed that Leo never confessed to destroying the letter, causing her magic to be undiscovered. There is no way he doesn’t understand that’s a factor. When Ann visited he seemed to have a guilty conscience, but that didn’t go anywhere before time rewound. If her paternal aunt is aware of her magic, how is it possible that her father isn’t??
Supposedly she was good friends with her fiancé, but in the original timeline, he still believed that she was bullying Charlotte and destroyed her life?! Really?? His aide did realize the bullying was likely untrue, but didn’t do anything to stop the prince from destroying her reputation? I actually would prefer the original timeline play out because it had people facing the consequences of their actions. According to Vik, her father has magic and jealousy being an issue, despite supposedly being a loving father until her initiation. If all of his people could immediately feel Charlotte using magic so clumsily, why didn’t anyone else notice? Surely there would be defenses against it? I think it’s a serious crime to cast magic on anyone, but especially on the king and prince…
It also sounds ludicrous for her to say her clothing choices are so changed because she’s SIXTEEN mentally, not 15 🤦🏻♀️

I'm not sure how I feel about the reset. I find myself at a loss trying to decide if I like where it's going anymore since it's been completely flipped on its head. Cliffhanger at the end just leaves me with an unsettled feeling. I don't think volume 5 is out yet... I don't even think there's a release date yet! Woe is me...
Interesting! this is the first one that has the concept of controlling where you are in the time line that I have read, and they didn't say it out right but the count dude! So much happened in this volume that is very plot heavy which was nice. I am sad there are only two more volumes of this right now.
I have mixed feelings about this volume. The story being in the world of a dating sim finally becomes relevant but it's used to restart the story and do things differently. Nearly everything that happened before now is undone. It's both interesting and frustrating.
The twist halfway through this volume surprised me. It also broke my heart because I was so happy that Vik and Claire were engaged.... Hopefully her plan works and everything gets fixed.

Pretty basic but good and satisfying to read! Well done for the genre, it's refreshing that it doesn't harp too much on the angsty revenge and keeps it light
