But God...A Doctrine of Hope

Rate this book
People can often lose their foundations of faith in the business of daily living. We may know in our heart and mind the correct answers when asked about God’s character and His promises, yet too often we make decisions not based on truth. When life takes turns outside our plans, or when we face lack, loss, or falter in our purpose, we must remember who God is, that He is good—and most importantly, that He never changes.

But God serves as a doctrine of hope—hope that God

… is good

… brings life

… brings salvation and deliverance

… brings provision

… provides purpose

… and that His character reveals our hope

Melisa walks you through each of the above concepts using her personal experiences as an illustration, with an assurance that this hope will not disappoint. She presents each concept using “Know and Believe” statements, true-life examples, and extensive Scripture references for further study.

But God…A Doctrine of Hope is a heartfelt invitation from the author to you, the reader, to know God’s truth, His character, and His never-changing love for you.

May God speak to you the words you need to hear, and may you learn to say, “But God” when life causes you to fear and doubt!

But God - intervened directly to introduce me to this book and the author at the exact time I needed it.
I was rediscovering my faith and had so many questions and my friend suggested that I talk to his pastors - particularly the female half of the dynamic duo - whom I had casually met before, around town. It was excellent advice. Pastor Melisa Turner has a way of relating God and his goodness to us flawed (and forgiven) humans, especially for women, I think. The book speaks in her voice and her love and faith ring out! I can't recommend it enough. Especially if you have doubts or questions. The best part, in my opinion, is that she continually goes back to the Bible, showing us His promises in print.
Thank you God, again, for Pastor Melisa, and her gentle guidance (and her endless patience!).
