I was sent to Storm Ridge Academy to handle a job assigned to me by Damien Reyez, the leader of the Carnaged Outlaws, the man who saved my life and who now owns me. But if I'm expected to survive, I have to keep who I work for a secret.
Kill the Ravagers. That's the job. For Damien it's all business, but for me, it's personal, seeing as how this crew was responsible for my father's disappearance.
But now it looks like killing them might have to wait. Something strange is happening in the Valley. Something that's made its way onto campus. Something I find myself unable to ignore.
I want them dead, but to get the true revenge I seek, my enemies must become my allies. These boys better buckle up because we’re about to go on one hell of a ride.
Ravaged Souls is a dark mafia academy, enemies to lovers reverse harem. Due to explicit content, foul language, violence, and drug use, this book is NOT recommended for readers under the age of 18. Please read the forward to get better insight on the trigger warnings.
Omgoodness, this book is so good. It is a why choose Mafia romance and had me hooked from beginning to end. And like Omgoodness, it is so intense, and it leaves on a cliffhanger from like wth Omgoodness I need to start book 2 asap. If u love dark romance and Mafia ur gonna love this.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Spice: 🌶️/5 MFC: I’m not a fan of Samara currently 😂 MMC(s): I like them! Plot: 3/5 Book cover: 3/5 Would I buy a physical copy?: Depends on how the series plays out.
*First, I feel like a rape trigger is needed for this book. Because that’s exactly what chapter 38 was. There are TW in the beginning of the book that mention abuse, SA, violence, etc. While I’m not triggered by it, I know a lot of people are so I figured I’d mention that having the actual word could prepare readers a bit better. 🙂
Okay, the amount of sneering, snarling, and growling Samara did in this book?? Sheesh, I thought I was reading about shifters. I did not like her attitude, she reminds me of the girls who try too hard to be tough. The way she poorly handles situations was aggravating too. She instantly verbally attacked Sky, with sneering/snarling, (then was calling her her bff chapters later?) and then whole situation with Issac in the lunch room, I was just baffled. SO much unnecessary drama.
NOW, I’m not saying her childhood and current trauma aren’t reasons for being so guarded but gah, I hate to say this… she’s selfish! It’s been alllll about her and how she can get out of Damien’s grasps, while everyone around her is in some shit too. Ginger was literally about to be SOLD, Chapter 38, and Samara is worrying about the lies they told her in order to try and shield her?! And then to whole thing with Brian. I knewwww that was going to back fire. Now this with Phantom piecing together who she is? Oy-vaaaaaay. So much drama. But I’m here for it 😂 I’m just struggling to like her at the moment, hopefully those feelings change next book.
The spice, whyyyy are we not getting full scenes?! Chapter 38 was detailedish which seems odd since we aren’t even getting the consensual moments? The urge I had to DNF when we didn’t get the full scene of Samara and Jace and then her with Issac was STRONG. We get the build up and then… nothing! Not even the words “everything fades to black” WHERES THE SPICE GOING??
Aside from my complaints, I really do like the start of this series. I’m curious on how Damien knew, the whole Finn thing, the trials (I’m a sucker for plots with dangerous trials that need to be won), will Ginger be okay, does Samara chill out with the sneering?? 😂
Ravaged Souls is book one in the Storm Ridge Academy series.
Someone, please tell me why this is the first book by Jhenna Smith I have read??
It was amazing. I was drawn in and invested right from the beginning.
After her mother is killed by a masked man, Samara is taken in by the leader of the Carnaged Outlaws, Damien Reyez. She ends up becoming a dancer at the Gentlemans Club, a strip club owned by him.
Samara is sent undercover to Storm Ridge by Damien to kill the Ravagers, Rhett, Isaac and Phantom
Samara is such a strong FMC and she takes no crap from anyone, especially from Rhett, Isaac and Phantom and to see what information she can on their adoptive father Xavier Michaelson
I loved Samara's relationship with her friend Ginger, another dancer at the club and with Jace, Damien's son. Their relationship did hit a bit of a rocky patch, but they became closer again by the end of the book. Samara and Jace have had to keep their relationship secret as Damian wants Samara for himself and plans to make her his Queen.
I also loved her relationship with Sky, the only real friend she made at Storm Ridge. When Sky's boyfriend Brian lies about something it was a bit much how quickly Sky turned on her, but I hope in the next book they can put it behind them and get their friendship back on track.
I saw the events of the cliffhanger ending coming. I just did not see Finn's, (Jace's friend and Damien's right hand man) part in it??
I cannot wait for book two Sinister Lies.
As this is the first book by Jhenna I have read, I now need to read the Clover Bay High series, as this is a spin off series from there.
Fabulous start to a new series. In a simultaneous timeline with the Clover Bay’s Reapers, this new series starts off darker than the events happening in Clover Bay. The backstory for the fmc, Samara, is deplorable in comparison to her counterpart, Rebel, in Clover Bay. Three of the Ravagers- Phantom, Isaac, and Rhett- have grown up in a completely different environment than the Reapers. (Remember Clover Bay’s computer hacker, Kaden? Yup, Phantom is the same Dark Web hacker that Kaden talks about.) While the Reapers don’t really become part of the crime world until later in the Clover Bay series, this is all the Ravagers know, having grown up under the care of crime boss Xavier Michaelson. Damien Reyez is expanding his empire, with his eyes set on Michaelson’s territory, including Storm Ridge Academy. Damien ‘owns’ Samara, and assigns her the task of eliminating the guys, and Michaelson. Meanwhile, Damien’s son, Jace, has lived his own version of Hell, being raised by the diabolical man. When he learns of his father’s despicable ‘Harvest’, and what Samara’s orders are, he begins to formulate a plan. Totally awesome story, with some spicy scenes, secrets, plot twists, and a great cliffhanger. Can’t wait for the second book.
What a freaking ride. The way this story has evolved has me hooked.
Samara hasn't had an easy life. Her father disappeared when she was little and her mom turned to drugs. She had to get a job at a strip club to make money to pay for food and rent.
Now her boss owns her. He saved her after her mother and her "flavor of the week" boyfriend were brutally murdered. Her boss also happens to be a ruthless gang leader of the Outlaws. What he wants he gets and he's obsessed with her.
Falling in love wasn't on her radar and to make things worse, she's in love with her boss' son. No one can know or they are both dead. Samara is told to enroll in a school to get close to and eliminate the Ravagers. She meets three intoxicating and confusing males who happen to be her target.
Will she be able to complete her mission? Will her feelings end up making things complicated?
Things aren't always what they seem and she's about to learn that the hard way
Samara is forced to strip in the Gentleman’s Club in Storm Ridge Valley for Damien the leader of the Carnaged Outlaws and head of the club.
She is sent to Storm Ridge Valley Academy to end Rhett, Isaac and Phantom who are part of The Ravagers. When plans change can she be a double agent and save herself and her friends?
Oh wow there are so many things in play. The ending 😯!! So definitely a cliffhanger but not super brutal but I didn’t see that truth. I really enjoyed the book. I think Samara is a bada**. But she would need to be to survive what she has. I felt like Jace (Damien son) was a little to soft. The same as Rhett super sweet heart but a little to soft.
Told in MPOV. Established relationship to start and a slow build up for one other. Not a standalone ends on a cliffhanger.
This is a dark bully why choose romance that has a college setting, mafia ties, and a stripper. While this might seem like it tries to hard to do everything, the author does a good job of keeping balance and making the character feel the strain of being overwhelmed. Likewise, her characters (male and female) are a good mix of strong when they need to be while also showing an appropriate amount of emotion and break down when things get too dark. It's refreshing to see male leads who are impacted by the devastation around them and female leads who hold their own in a fight but cry when their best friend stop talking to them.
Plot: 3/5 • Smut: 1/5 ————-> This was so messy. There’s so many situations within situations it’s hard to keep up with who is on whose side. Are they the good guys? Are they the bad guys? Yes, it is clear who the ultimate bad guys is, but the rest are still confusing. Then there’s secondary characters who seem a little pointless at some points.
The three main targets. Don’t think they’ll likely be targets forever, she’s already starting to gain some traction with them. And then there’s her former flame who’s trying to protect her and loves her.
Again, so messy. But it kept my attention enough to continue.
Ravaged Souls is book #1 in the Storm Ridge Academy series. It's a dark Mafia academy, enemies to lovers reverse harem. Make sure to check the trigger warning.
I swear, I love every book this author writes!
Samaras story had me hooked from the very 1st chapter! I love how strong she is! And don't even get me started on the guys!!!
I couldn't get enough of this story and I'm counting down the days til book 2!!!
One of the first books I've read by Jhenna and I couldn't put it down. Dark mafia with a bunch of enemies to lovers thrown in. Who doesn't love that combo? The amount of times I don't realize how far or invested I am in a book before to late and that cliffhanger rushes me and boom. Waiting for an eternity it feels.( not that long but still) definitely something to read if your into dark romances.
You thunk the story's going one way but then the semi truck just swerves and crashes. Such an amazing story and samara definitely knows gown to play the game but her lines are getting a little crossed. There are so many secrets going on its hard to kept one theory going when another one pops up. I did not see the ending coming tho! Can't wait to read book 2 to see where it all goes!!! O and I hope sky finds out the truth about brian
I gave it ⭐⭐⭐. The idea was good and the story overall okay, but at times the writing felt a little childish, though that might just be because I’ve read so many books in this genre. Even so, it’s an easy and quick read, and despite the somewhat abrupt “cliffhanger” ending, I’ll definitely continue the series.
Such a fantastic read. Samara is tough as nails forced into gang life from both sides. The story is brilliant, there's so much going on and it sets up loads for the next book too. I loved it.
This book was 🔥🔥I’m lost for words my god it took a turn in the end and it’s a cliff hanger damn. I need book 2 now! This for sure is a must read, she is a bad a$$ wow oh wow . The guys are so hot 🥵 I need book two
I am hooked. I will read whatever Jhenna writes from here on out. Loved the storyline and the characters. This ended on a crazy cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to read the next one! I definitely recommend this book!
What's not to love about getting attention from 3 super hot guys, even if it's not always good attention. Spying, dying, saving lives, and a bit of spice... I can't wait to read more
This book is a whirlwind and that cliffhanger! I am hooked. Please check your trigger warnings, although this book doesn’t give a very good list at the beginning, be mindful of her warnings that this is dark.
I recently read a captivating dark mafia romance by Jhenna and being my first book by her I couldn't put it down. It's full of enemies-to-lovers intrigue and an irresistible cliffhanger. A must-read for fans of dark romances!
I was so on the edge of my seat the whole book. So many twists and turns. Revenge, love, gang against gang. I wanted to kick Damien butt myself. But holy cliffhanger Batman.
Ravaged Souls is book one of a complex Mafia / Academy series. Jenna Smith weaves a dark and twisted tale with rich characters and lots of plot. Plenty of twists and outstanding threads remain for book 2.
What a ride!! Gangs, bullying guys at an academy, and a sassy heroine? Love everything about it. And the twist at the end? What does that all mean for Samara? I’m so curious
Wow I devoured this book and loved the mafia suspense action packed read. I need so much of this book. This story will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is a enemies to lovers and very dark.
