I was always that weird kid in high school who answered the “what do you want to do in the future” question with “I want to be a father”. I’ve always wanted to be a dad, specifically to a girl (since I grew up with an older sister, and so did my dad.). And I’ve spent a TON of time reading books, watching videos and educating myself on fatherhood.

A few months ago, I found out my wife was pregnant. And my research went into overdrive. By the time I picked up this book a few weeks ago, I already figured I knew it all by this point. What more could this book teach me that I wasn’t already aware of?

Apparently…a lot!

I was blown away with how much incredible information I learned reading this book, in less than 200 pages. From handling her periods to proper work life balance and time management to creating special memories and so much more I didn’t even consider until now. This is an absolute must read for any father of girls, who genuinely want to amplify their relationship with their daughters.

With the amount of value I received in such few pages, plus those absolutely beautiful and touching final remarks from both the author as well as from her own dad, I really can’t give this book anything less than 5 stars!

A mandatory read for every male human

I have just one 8 month old daughter at the time of reading this book. I was able to read the entire book on a single 3 hour flight where I had no wifi to work and could be present for the entire book.

I don't think I have ever been this emotional from reading a book in my life. The takeaways from this book will last a lifetime and I'm both scared and extremely excited about the future of raising my daughter as a Girl Dad.

I've already added it on my calendar when she is 2 to revisit and re-read this book to further cement it's impact it has had on me.

Thank you Madeline for creating it!

This book has countless takeaways for new dads with daughters. I will be gifting this at every baby shower from here on out! I love the passages taken from interviews with dads and daughters. They are so sentimental, and I learned a lot through their insights and experiences. It is such an easy and fun read too - could definitely knock it out in a few hours. Highly recommend!

Good book

This book has good advice and about being a Girl Dads. I think a lot of the information is practical and can be a must-read for parents seeking a positive and uplifting guide to building a strong relationship with their daughters.

Obvious and Idealistic

Much of this could be condensed into one blog post. There are some good tips and ideas here are and there that are very practical but the book is too idealistic to make it worth reading.

Very quick light read. Preaching to the choir mostly, but some good reminders about going from just a good dad to full “girl dad” status. Will prob reference in the future for ideas. Honestly probably a 3.5 but I always round up

A good barometer for me as a dad to two girls. Definitely gave me some fresh ideas and helped set certain things in clearer context.
