Growing up on the commune left Miller on vague terms with the outside world until age eighteen, when he left.
At twenty-six, he's backfilled experiences to make up for lost time. Books, movies, fruit snacks and ice cream--he's on a mission to live life to the fullest.
With a thriving career as a mechanic and a place to call his own, the last piece of the puzzle is the most important: love.
But as a virgin, he's lacking the confidence he needs to find a girl.
Enter Delane: the spicy audiobook loving receptionist at Wrench Kings.
With the goal of earning an apprenticeship and also becoming a mechanic at the shop, Delane realizes she and Miller can be of mutual assistance to one another.
She makes him an offer he can't refuse until, on the cusp of something momentous, a secret truth is revealed.
When your heart is involved, can some lies be forgiven?
The Only One is a interconnected standalone and book three in the Wrench Kings series.
Daisy Jane is a forbidden love romance author, inspired by VC Andrews and more . When she's not penning a hot age gap novel or dreaming up steamy stories, she's enjoying the sunshine and warmth at her home in California. She enjoys reading, true crime, exercise and, of course, romance.
3.5 stars. I’m rounding this up because Miller was adorable 🐕. OK let’s be honest folks, this book was 95% smut, 5% plot. But since the smut was good I’m giving it a higher rating than it probably deserves.
Just gonna lay out a couple of things to breakdown what I thought starting with the good:
Miller was an adorable and real, beta man. He was a golden retriever and if he had a tail it would have been wagging for Delane. This is a refreshing type of hero and one that should be explored more in contemporary romance in my humble opinion. Daisy did a great job of depicting him as strong but still soft, as vulnerable but still sexy. 👍🏻 for Miller.
Delane was a great female lead. She was complicated and annoying at times and I think sometimes the author forgot or fudged a bit when writing her insecurities because she didn’t stay consistent. But overall she was a take charge kind of girl and a fake it till you make it queen.
Side characters are DJs strongest skill. She writes some great, steady, deep and engaging friends and family. She peppered enough cameos from her previous books to satisfy without making it seem like she was trying to give us a recap or sales pitch to read them. They stayed consistent with how they were written and there was very very little Beck to speak of, which was awesome because I hate that character. Her new characters were also great and well rounded. We got to know them well enough to love them and they had their own little side stories so weren’t like npcs, there to prop up the mains.
Smut. This was top notch. It was most of the book so it had better be good, and it was. Lots of fem dom stuff but not too crazy for those new to that kink. So now I know what soft fem dom is and I enjoyed it. But there was a lot of it, so don’t read this if you don’t like sex or heavy sex in your books. This was smut first, romance a far far second.
Now to hit the points that needed work.
The plot: The entire conflict in this book is based on negative motivation, which in layman's terms is: if the characters just pulled their heads out of their asses, this plot couldn’t exist. It is the most frustrating and useless way to write a romance and I despise it. There was a lot of back and forth and internal self-talk about how Miller and Delane couldn’t be together and how they only had an arrangement. But the thing about negative motivation of this sort is, that when it’s held up to ANY scrutiny, it implodes on itself. Why? Why couldn’t they be together? What was holding them back? Nada. Not one thing. The only thing that held them back was for Delane to change her mind about it. Which she did. Obvi. It was annoying. DJ often does this to me with her conflict. It isn’t well developed enough to stand up to a stress test, therefore it kinda sucks. Maybe take the foot off the gas with the smut and start working on building plot and conflict for a better balanced story. Just my two cents.
Negative & self deprecating inner thoughts. The supposedly confident heroine’s inner monologue drove me crazy at times. She was kind of a liar, lying to herself and to Miller about both her experience and her confidence level. It drove me a bit crazy NGL. If you see my highlights, you will see my rage. Also the hate she had for these women she didn’t even know, was that necessary? Throwing out ‘slut’ and ‘whore’ against women who were going for a guy she wouldn’t even stand up and claim? Smdh. It was so jarring and I hated it.
Rock the karate @sshole and ex bf of D. What the hell happened to him and that story arc? Did DJ forget about that potential conflict while she was knee deep in lube? I needed resolution there. She gave us a conflict with a toxic man, a perfect juxtaposition with Miller’s sweetie pie vibe, but she left us hanging. He never got his due and I’m pretty mad about it.
It was too long. Even though she never resolved Delane’s issue with Rock, this book kept on going and going. There was four too many chapters and two epilogues. This story was wrapped up in ten tight packages and I think the author just wanted to give us 20 more sex scenes. 😵💫
The ending
So overall this was a smutty read with good characters but frustrating moments. If you’re over all the alpha @ssholes in CR today, this might be a nice alternative for you, especially if you don’t mind sex over story. I can’t say I’m a die hard Daisy Jane fan after this. This series was fun (except for Beck) and I enjoyed myself, but Jane needs to do more work on plot and conflict development and stop relying on negative motivation to move a story forward. Newsflash: it never will. It will always stall a story out and frustrate your readers. Move on from this and work on external conflicts. So this is one author whose backlist I will not be going into but I will look out for new releases, if they are on KU.
I really did not like this as much as I expected. I fully enjoyed the first two in this series but this one was a bit of a let down.
I really liked the main characters, but the dynamic between them just gave me secondhand embarrassment for most of the book. Laney was pretty much full of shit when she postulated that she could “teach” Miller confidence or sex- she was borderline just as inexperienced as him, and it felt so clumsy and unbelievable. Like, a cock cage for his second lesson? For real? We’re going from his kissing to a cock cage and then picking back up at “how to put your arm around a woman’s shoulder”?
The inclusion of the snippets from her audiobook was too cheesy for me- I generally don’t like characters that are given “like to read romance novels obsessively” as part of their personality- it usually feels extremely forced and “dream within a dream” to me, and this was no exception. In this particular story, it also just made me feel kind of yucky about the fact that Laney was essentially acting out the novel she was reading on Miller without his knowledge, both with her inexperience and his, and it just didn’t work for me. I love femme dom books in general and have enjoyed books about heroines “learning” how before, but the way Laney “learned” and then “taught” felt… off… idk, dishonest? It’s hard for me to explain. It felt like she was experimenting on Miller with fantasies from her books without fully informing him and without any actual research other than “oh this chapter was hot”, whereas he was looking to her for guidance based on knowledge she led him to believe she had. That, coupled with the fact that Miller is basically recovering from major religious trauma and is trusting her when she says she has experience she can share… it at times felt like she was straight up taking advantage of him.
I just… didn’t like it. It left a poor taste in my mouth.
Twenty six-year old Miller grew up on a commune and is still finding himself after leaving the cultish community.
Having worked at Wrench Kings since moving to Oakcreek, the team has become his family. Yet, he’s missing that romantic connection.
When the feisty audiobook fiend, Delane, offers a skill swap, he can’t possibly say no. Together they navigate his lack of confidence and he supervises her engine repairs, but falling in love wasn’t on their schedule.
Full disclosure: I don’t think femdom is my thing. BUT that’s a ME thing. This book was so well written. I couldn’t possibly love Miller more. He is brave and vulnerable, sweet and strong. Delane exudes next-level confidence, even when she’s not feeling it. Their dynamic was so perfectly matched, a literal yin and yang. Beyond that, I love the entire Wrench Kings family and loved seeing how close they are. The entire series is a favorite.

I've found my newest book boyfriend: freaking Miller😍
Kinks: soft femdom, cock caging, pegging, praise ("Good Boy" 🤤), & super hot dirty talk
"Good boy." "Fuck. I liked that name." "Good boy?" “I’d fucking love to be your good boy."
Guys, I LOVE Miller. He's 26, a blue collar worker (mechanic) who can almost always be seen with his baseball cap (swooning), a hard worker, a down-to-earth good guy, a virgin, aaaand also completely self-conscious about his v-card status and his lack of confidence with women. He's been on his own for almost a decade and my heart breaks for him because his family isn't dead, they just aren't his family anymore. Enter Delane - 22, bold, brave, motivated, with set ambitions to become a mechanic, aaaand also completely unaware of Miller's secret affections. Their mutual agreement to help each other brings out some steamy scenes and I loved the soft femdom part of it. Soft femdom is exactly how it sounds - not a completely harsh dominant but gentle and affectionate even though he's getting pegged with a huge strap.
My heart broke for Miller after learning about his family and how he's been living his life on his own, but I loved that he, with the help of therapy, is getting better each day, month, and year. I love how much he cares about Zeth (his Little Brother from the Big Brother sponsored program) and how he shows his love for those around him. I think I just love him, though lol.
Delane and her addiction to books, specifically audiobooks, struck a chord with me: using them to escape reality and to avoid the chaos of everyday life.. I get it. But I'm glad she was able to pull herself out of her stories and live the life that's in front of her (not completely, I mean what is a life without books??)
This was steamy, a teensy bit angsty, the best use of miscommunication (neither realizing that their feelings for the other could possibly be returned), an adorable cat named Salsa (aka Pico de Gato), and such a sweet ending. I absolutely adored Atticus and how much he was featured in this book. He was so gruff in his book (The Brazen One) but something about being with Goldie has softened him, and he offered some damn good advice to both of them throughout the story. I loved that. Make this your next read!! You won't regret it. :)
“I think I knew when we got together that we weren’t a temporary thing. I think I knew you were my forever.”
I was actually really surprised by this book when I started reading it, and was fully prepared to rate it 4 “consider me surprised” stars because I came into this book fully expecting 95% smut and 5% story. I was thoroughly in love with Miller (still am) and I was really convinced that his backstory made him the submissive, under-confident man that he was. I loved the addition of the letters to his father in the story and his character development throughout the book.
The plot took a turn to reveal that Delane herself was a virgin about 75-80% into the book. That honestly ruined a good chunk of the story for me. I know it’s fiction, but where the whole plot is centered around Delane being confident and Miller not, I just can’t believe that Delane, being a virgin, is confident enough to put Miller’s cock in a cage, train him how to be sexually confident, and peg him without any sexual experience 😂 (Delane’s “experience” comes from listening to smutty audiobooks). She felt the need to hide her virginity from Miller, which feels to me like it’s out of character for an ultra “confident” woman like herself.
This isn’t a horrible book, but unfortunately that little revelation really soured things for me, and I’m bummed because I was really jiving with the story up until that point, even though there were some cheesy moments and at times the story could feel a little dragged out for a contemporary romance.
Edited to add: Something about this book hasn’t sat right with me for a few days, and I realized it’s because I feel like Delane took advantage of Miller’s innocence. Delane snooping through Miller’s letters made me feel like she still has no respect for him. If this book was a dark romance, I’d give this a pass because I feel like dark romance has its own playbook, but this is a contemporary romance. Lots of things that were supposed to be sweet really ended on a sour note for me.

Remember when I asked for recs with a strong, confident fmc? Well, it turned into me reading the first soft femdom book of my life- and I didn’t hate it.
Delane and Miller are co-workers. Miller grew up in a cult, and it’s left some marks. He’s very self-conscious, shy and a virgin at twenty-six who has ✨zero rizz✨. Enter Delane, she’s confident, outspoken and offers to help Miller become more confident around women by having 🌶-sessions with her (in return, he helps her become a mechanic). She’s also a virgin but that’s not a big part of the plot.
Now as I said, this is a soft femdom. Meaning that Delane is the more dominant one whilst Miller is the more submissive one. I haven’t read femdom before so I don’t know any of the terms but this didn’t feel like ”soft femdom” to me (whatever that means).
In my opinion, and by my standards, this is an erotica rather than a romance. There is a lot of 🌶 scenes (and I’d say they are the most well-written ones in the book). There’s absolutely a romance plot too, but it felt secondary to the spicy one.
The brazen one was my favorite but… Miller took the spot. I loved this book so much. It was sweet, heart warming, and spicy. Seriously.. the spicy scenes were 🔥.
Daisy has really capitalized on the femdom market. This is her 3rd femdom book and I have loved all of them. They are written so well & are believable.
Daisys books are more than just spice, they are super relatable & about real people with real problems.
Or as one of my friends put it.. ordinary people with extraordinary sex lives.
reread- 5 ⭐️ 3.5 🌶️ i loved this even more the second time!! this is the best femdom & it deserves more hype !!!!! the audiobook is coming out soon!!
I love how Daisy Jane explores intimacy and k!nks in new ways every time I pick up one of her books.
I love Miller and Delane. They are such a sweet pair. Their mutual pining and hesitancy with one another is endearing. But once they get in the bedroom.. all bets are off.
In The Only One we have a situation of a mutually beneficial deal. Delane wants mechanic tutoring and she offers Miller some confidence boosting experiences in exchange. As she works her way through her car fixing lessons, Miller gets some training for this mythical future girlfriend.
But the only girlfriend he really wants is Delane. So while the misunderstanding persists, they get closer and closer. Exploring things that Delane has only read in books but believes she can pass on to Miller.
Miller discovers he really loves Delane's guidance and control over the situations. He let's her push him further and further all while they fall deeper and deeper. It was really beautiful to watch them become so vulnerable together.
This is actually the second time I've read this one and I did it with the audio book this time. Narrated by Daisy Jane herself and complimented by Aaron Shedlock in duet narration.
I'm sad this series is over but I look forward to diving into more every day k!nk with Daisy Jane!
4 Stars 4 on the spice scale
CW: male chastity, soft fem domme, orgasm control, pegging, butt plugs
On paper this should've been everything I love in a book: femdom ✅ sweet/cinnamon male lead ✅ fmc who likes femdom before meeting mmc ✅ pegging ✅ realistic and/or relatable femdom ✅ chastity cage ✅ But it just kinda.... meeeeeh? for me?
🔧 The mutual pining: so both MCs are mutually pining for each other. Maybe not wholly at first (mostly just the MMC), but very quickly both realise they want more and are just too chickenshit and insecure to say anything. This is so super realtistic and relatable, but honestly, as a plot device I find it frustrating or annoying as hell. When two characters mutually pine (something I actually find very refreshing instead of quippy rivals), I need an external force keeping them apart. Maybe the FMC could be in massive debt, so getting in a relationship with her would mean taking some of that on? Maybe the ex has blackmail on her? Like, just gimme SOMETHING. It caused me to get bored and just kinda disengage from the story.
🔧 Miller was so sweet. That first where he gets flustered over hearing a dog get called good boy... iconic. Fantastic. Overall, liked him.
🔧 FMC was ok, I liked that she was forward in her sexual wants. I liked that she had plans goals, friends, and family that we get to see her interact with. It was fun that her virgin ass just copied what she read in romance books.
I badly wanted to enjoy this one but until the end I still did not like both H and h. Maybe it was js me but i find both annoying. This includes a dual virgin trope and knowing me I always will devour the trope and usually stick with three stars when I find a story good but not that great. I did not dive in blind bc I read the reviews, so I kinda expected something good. Smut wasn't well written, (atleast for me) I understand Fem dom, and I've read a handful of them and liked it but this unfortunately fell short to me. I also usually love me some cinnamon roll H but he makes me roll my eyes. The writing is mid. The premise was good and it has a potential only if it was longer.
1.5 stars

Meh this was weird, I didn’t like Delane. She was trying to act like such a badass but she was just as inexperienced as Miller. Just because you listen to audiobooks doesn’t make you ready to shove a dildo up ur fuck buddys ass.
I’m always struck by how immediately I’m invested in Daisy Jane’s characters. Miller and Delane are just the cutest, sweetest people and watching them fall for each other was both hot and adorable. 😍
Miller needs help with his confidence and Delane needs practice to prepare for a mechanic’s apprenticeship. Though they’ve been friends & coworkers for years they’ve never spent much time together until Delane witnesses Miller getting rejected again. She offers to be his spice tutor in exchange for lessons at the garage they work at.
Holy smokes. I don’t know why I’m surprised because so much of book 2 (The Brazen One) has stuck with me and it’s definitely one of the best books I read in 2022. I know it’s only January but I’m going to go ahead and say this will probably be one of the best books I’ll read in 2023.
How could anything else compare?! Miller is so gone for Delane and he trusts her implicitly, so much so that even when she pulls out a strap on he doesn’t stop her. Delane is also incredible. She is so patient with him and kind when he struggles to put things into words or gets embarrassed. I really loved how she reassured him that there’s no pressure to perform and that he should just enjoy himself.
Outside the bedroom, the development of their friendship was well paced and I loved watching their found family come together. There were probably as many sweet/cute moments as there were spicy ones. That said, the spice was spicy! If you are at all a fan of femdom or male subs this is for you.
Stray happens to be one of my favourite Daisy Jane novels so I was especially delighted to receive an ARC of The Only One in exchange for an honest review.
*Honorable mention to Atticus who a little bit stole the show 🤣 His snark was the comic relief this book needed and I lived for every word that came out of his mouth!
I was excited for this one but it wasn't for me. I felt like the whole book was just following our MCs along on a boring day. I'm getting too many details about what's for dinner and whether or not you have time for the library and too few about anything I'm interested in.
I was so down for the premise that I started skimming "the boring parts" but started feeling really thrown off by all of Laney's preconceived notions. She came off as arbitrarily judgemental, and ideas that felt off the wall were presented to the reader as something everyone knows. Like, she wants to be a mechanic, works in an auto shop, and obviously dropped a guy because she had to drive them somewhere once. What? Why? Am I not supposed to drive cuz of my genitals, are myself and others supposed to have known this?
There were several moments like that, and I lot of them felt offensive/sexist. That, combined with feeling like I had to earn anything interesting by watching every detail of a day I didn't care about, lead to giving up on the book.
Delane and Miller have worked together at Wrench Kings and while Miller has always held a torch for Delane, she’s starting to realize the attraction she’s had for him is returned ten fold. In an effort to improve her mechanic skills, she makes him an offer he can’t refuse. Once these two start to explore not only quality time together but testing their limits in the bedroom- neither want to let the other go when their time is up. These two sweet babies were such a sweet and spicy read I could not get enough. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Miller left his family and the commune that he grew up on to have a normal life. But when it comes to women Miller has no clue what he is doing. Delane wants to help her family. She’s been working the front of Wrench Kings for years. When her and Miller come up with a plan. Miller will help her learn more about the mechanics of cars if she makes him more confident with women.
This series is such a great small town / taboo series. We can really watch Miller grown from a shy guy to a man who knows what he wants sexually. You can feel their chemistry coming out of the pages. These books have a sprinkle of taboo since Delane is the soft domme in this relationship. There is no hardcore Dom / Sub material.
The spice is amazing. The character development is great. The plot is there! I just loved this book.

Okay, I did not love this book so I am going to chuck my thoughts on the actual book under a spoiler cover, as I received an audio copy from the Author Agency and I’d prefer to focus on that aspect of things!
Okay okay now to the important stuff! The narration quality was so good! There was never any volume or quality differences or issues and both actors did a great job.
Aaron Shedlock in particular really stood out to me in this. He absolutely nailed the emotional changes, and the sp!cy scenes were done so perfectly well that I usually got swept up in the moment with him. He made Miller a sweet and lovable character without removing any of the strength and passion we would expect from his character. He put little inflections in at the right times and I loved his performance so much that I will definitely be looking through his catalogue for my next listen.
Daisy narrates all of her own books, and does a great job every time. She has a really unique voice which makes her characters really recognisable and unique.
Honourable mention to Attie; I liked him in his book but I LOVED him in this one. He gives pitbull energy; looks scary, can bite, but is actually a big softie on the inside.
The Only One is book 3 in the Wrench Kings and is a small town, friends to lovers, femdom romance.
After growing up in a commune most of his life, Miller is still trying to find himself. Finding a job at the Wrench Kings has been a dream, unfortunately he has yet to find love.
After witnessing Miller getting rejected again, Delane offers up a trade. She’ll help him get his motor running if he’ll help fine tune her skills.
Together, Miller and Delane are an amazing couple. I love the growth of their relationship and the deepening of their friendship. I loved how patient Delane is with Miller and his absolute trust on her. Not to mention the spice is out of this world 🔥🔥🔥.
Another great read by this author and I’m definitely looking forward to the next one.
I tend to read more fantasy or dark romance but, “The Only One,” was a breath of fresh air. Miller was so sweet and lovable with a broken past and bright future. Delane is a scrappy family oriented sweet heart with a tough exterior. When something happens and she concocts a plan to get something she wants, while helping Miller with something he needs. The rest would spoil it for you, so just go and read this love story. You’ll be thanking me and Ms. Jane in no time!
This is just depressing in the worst way possible.
First of all, some quick thoughts
- This plot of "I'll fuck some confidence into him and his insecurities rooted in toxic masculinity out of his body" dosent work and it's not interesting. Your pussy is not a remedy or a cure to anything, stop embarrassing yourself;
- "I may not have the actual experience but again, is that really necessary? Plus, he doesn't have to know I’ve never done… things", fellas, is it necessary to communicate to your partner that you have no idea of what you are trying to do whilst still doing it to their body? This FL dont think so...
- One thing is a male sub, another really different thing is an insecure man with no sense of agency, and the latter is not a synonym of a male sub;
- Don't use your FL as a device to be repeating over and over again that a male character is a good person, that dosent mean anything, it's just repetitive and lazy.
Now, the female lead, whose name I dont remember, nor do I want to, is a dumb, pick me, not like other girls, annoying bitch. Like, she's so interested in mechanics, she eats and dont care that her face is all dirty, she hangs out only with the boys, but she still cooks and have maternal instincts, so shes a good woman... But shes still different because the ML's ideal woman will be the perfect stereotype of a mother-house wife (yes, the FL describes it).
At first she was fine, not really interesting or eye catching but I had to give her a chance since it was her first time being introduced, but I just couldn't endure her anymore after she called a random woman a bitch because she didnt want to go out with the male lead.
Seriously, the woman just said she wasn't interested in dating and all of a sudden this FL said to Miller, the ML, that he couldn't talk to her anymore because she was a bitch to him?
Also, there's this weird tone in the writing towards other women, this desperate attempt to not sound like a pick me but also wanting this FL to be showered with male validation, instead of just committing to a pick me female character. But the author won't commit, they'll use the male character to filter out how we should interpret the obvious pick me narrative.
Wich it's so recurrent here, having a male character who happens to be a decent person as a device to filter how the reader has to see a specific female character; if a woman is not on her knees for him, she's automatically a bitch, if she is putting him on a pedestal and reminding you constantly that this male character is an angel on earth then she's a good woman and person...
This man dosent automatically deserves everything in this world and the good out of everyone just because he knows how to act like a decent person!
The ML was cute I guess. His plotline is interesting but this author was torturing me with the horrendous, cringy writing. WE DONT NEED TO BE REMINDED CONSTANTLY ABOUT THE FL'S WET PUSSY!!!!!
"Everything between my legs floods with warmth. No, not even warmth. Heat. Fucking fire. My pussy burns for his touch"
"I fucking swear. I can actually feel my pussy get so wet my panties start to stick to me."
"I think my pussy almost explodes"
And that is just a few because I cant keep on reading this anymore.
What to Expect: - Workplace Romance - Friends to Lovers - Femdom - Golden Retriever MMC - Small Town - Miscommunication - Found Family - HEA - Dual POV
The Only One is the third book in the Wrench Kings series. I have not read the first and second books, and this is my first by Daisy Jane. I am new to femdom romance. Although I don't think femdom is for me, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the story.
Miller and Delane both work at the same shop. Miller is a mechanic and Delane is the receptionist. Miller left a commune when he was eighteen and has been navigating new experiences as an adult. He is very green in the romance department and is unsure how to interact with women. Delane has a goal of becoming a certified mechanic but needs help learning the ins and outs of the job. Delane approaches Miller with a mutually beneficial offer - she will help him with his confidence in interacting with women, and he will teach her how to become a mechanic. Miller has been pining after Delane for a long time. As they spend more time together, their relationship turns into more.
I loved Miller! He is the perfect book boyfriend. Miller is a true golden retriever male character. He is sweet, innocent, and genuine. I have mixed feelings about Delane. I appreciated her ability to take charge and stand up for herself. I also loved that she was an audiobook lover. I didn't like how she fumbled Miller's trust. I enjoyed the spicy scenes with Miller and Delane and felt they had amazing chemistry. I felt the character development was good, and I liked the secondary characters.
Overall, this was an ok story. I do feel there were some issues with the plot. I also didn't like the timeline of certain events, especially things that happened during the epilogue. If you want good spice, this book is for you. If you are looking for a well-developed plot, this might not be the best choice.
NARRATION: The author herself, Daisy Jane, and Aaron Shedlock performed the dual narration. They did a great job portraying the characters. Aaron's portrayal of Miller's innocence and vulnerability was perfect. Daisy did a wonderful job portraying Delane's confidence as well as her tenderness during intimate moments with Miller. This was my first audiobook with Daisy and Aaron as narrators, and they are now on my list of favorites.
Thanks to Daisy Jane and The Author Agency for a gifted copy of this audiobook. Opinions expressed are my own.
Okay, this is not my usual style of kink and had I not have already fallen for this series I probably wouldn’t have read this. That being said, this was intriguing and spicy!
But what makes this book and all the other ones before is the wisdom and heart that Daisy Jane puts into all of her characters.
Somehow she takes a topic maybe considered less popular with the romance genre and turns it into this beautiful, healthy story of two consenting adults thriving in their relationship.
It was a perfect end to this series. But Atticus is still my number one and I would greatly appreciate another story about a man like him 😍
i'm not a huge fan of friends to lovers but i liked the twist on this that they aren't *best* friends or very close at all to begin with and they're both fairly unconscious of their feelings for each other (in the beginning).
- small town romance! soft femdom, virgin MMC, workplace romance, friends to lovers! - the whole reason i read this series was for these two so i am ready - they both have the biggest crushes on each other this is too cute - Rock needs to get in the bin - very sweet first kiss - Miller’s in the big brother programme 😭😭 - he’s such a golden retriever - my poor baby was in a cult😭 - it’s just really frustrating to read because this could of been real from the beginning if they’d just talked - no this book is annoying me and i didn’t think it would 🙃 - Laney is described as this as this self assured, confident person but all she does is hide - i think it’s really shallow of Laney of how she judges these made up girls she THINKS Miller wants - Goldie was the only non stupid girl in this series i swear to god - god Miller is the perfect man - Laney is really fucking me off, GROW. UP. - Atticus gives the best advice - they’re just both so in love with each other!!! - at least she knows she fucked up😂 - okay… Laney redeemed herself - very sweet love confessions - the last 60 pages were pure fluff and i loved it - their sex was written really well and so hot! - i love Zeth so much🥺 - i think they had good good developments (Millers was amazing) but Laney’s only really came at the end - i don’t see the point in having that Rock story line?? what was the point? - i’m so glad she started calling Art dad🥺 - very sweet epilogues but it was the last in the series, i needed a big/sweet moment with all six of them instead of it being ‘Laney is pregnant, the end’ - i did really enjoy this but didn’t live up to what i thought it would be! i only read the first two so i could read this one and preferred the first two😂
Dulane has worked with the quiet and sweet Miller at Wrench Kings for a while now. After watching his disastrous attempt at getting a girl to go out with him, she decides they should make a trade. She'll give him confidence lessons a la her smutty audio books and he'll give her mechanics lessons. This proves way too sweet of a deal for Miller to pass up, especially since he's been low key crushing on her since they met.
I want to say up front don't think that femdom is my thing. This was my first one and I know it's on the lighter side, but still pushed the limits of my comfort zone. With that being said, this story is absolutely wonderful and I'm so very glad I read it! If you're on the fence, this would definitely be the book to step out of your comfort zone with. The story is beautifully poignant, well written, and you will abso-fracking-lutely fall in love with these characters. Miller is is the sweetest, most caring, thoughtful hero I've ever had the pleasure of reading about. Delane is just so earnest in her desire to help him and her drive to do better for herself. The Only One is a bit of a slow burn, but the chemistry between them was great and it was wonderful to see them grow together. This has been such a fabulous series and Delane and Miller are definitely faves!
"Good boy." "Fuck. I liked that name." "Good boy?" "I'd fucking love to be your good boy."
This is book three in the Wrench Kings series and boy 🥵 This did not let me down one bit! I have to mention book one and two cause they were also AMAZING, book two is still definitely my favourite and this book only lost 0.5 star in comparison to that one.
1. The Wild One - 4/5 ⭐️ 2. The Brazen One - 5/5 ⭐️ 3. The Only One - 4.5/ 5 ⭐️
Miller, having a thriving career as a mechanic, is on a mission to live life to the fullest, after growing up on the commune. Enter Delane, the spicy audiobook loving receptionist at Wrench Kings. Miller, a 26 year old virgin, is offered an arrangement by Delane who wants to become a mechanic at the shop. Once their hearts get involved, a lie comes to light. Oh, it was so good! The addition of the characters from the first two books made this so much more fun!
This is the first book I've read with the femdom kink and I really enjoyed reading it. The spice level was 👌🏽😍 Honestly the smut was so entwined with the plot, it was the perfect balance.
"I think I knew when we got together that we weren't a temporary thing. I think I knew you were my forever."
Daisy Jane's writing style hooks me. I read this in two days, which for the length of this book, is quick for me. The writing style is just so easy to read and it flows, making it super enjoyable.
This is the 3rd and final book in Daisy Jane’s Wrench Kings interconnected standalone series. It follows Delane, the shop’s spicy audiobook loving receptionist with dreams of becoming a mechanic herself and Miller, mechanic at the shop who left communal living at 18 and now seemingly has everything going for him except he lacks confidence when it comes to women. Delane proposes a friendly agreement that will be mutually beneficial for both of them.
I normally go for the possessive alphahole and don’t care about the cinnamon roll character, but I surprisingly loved Miller in this story. He’s sweet and compassionate, and his friendship/relationship with Delane was lovely to watch develop.
What I’ve come to love about Daisy Jane’s work is how she seamlessly mixes heavy, emotional journeys with such amazing spice. She writes characters with realistic lives and situations, where kinks are explored and acted on naturally without feeling like they’re written for shock factor.
This is my very first 𝙳𝚊𝚒𝚜𝚢 𝙹𝚊𝚗𝚎 book, and it will not be my last! I loved her characters, her plot line, her style! Once I started this one, I couldn't stop! Falling hard for Miller was such a fun time!
This is my first foray into soft femdom romance and I can honestly say, I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would! The way that co-workers Laney & Miller needed something from each other, and worked together to achieve what they needed, was absolutely delicious! Miller is very much a golden retriever, and seeing him pine for Laney was so fun! Watching Laney realize that what she feels for Miller may be more than just a coworker & friend......beautifully done!
The author narrated Laney in this story and she did a beautiful job! I loved how she brought her to life! Her voice blended beautifully with 𝐴𝑎𝑟𝑜𝑛 𝑆ℎ𝑒𝑑𝑙𝑜𝑐𝑘, who is one of my favorite male narrators. He did a magnificent job with Miller's innocent character and make him real for me!
This story is spicy, this story is full of beautiful characters and this story will hook you! I am looking forward to going back and listening to more of 𝙳𝚊𝚒𝚜𝚢 𝙹𝚊𝚗𝚎'𝚜 books soon!
Miller was such a good boy. He was raised on a commune and was a virgin at 26 because he only escaped at 18 and was still catching up on things in life he’d missed out on.
He works with Delane at Wrench Kings and they’ve been friends/coworkers for a few years. In order to gain confidence in himself, he trades mechanic lessons for sexy lessons to build him up after Delane watches him get snubbed when asking a girl out.
Delane is an avid erotic audiobook fan (honestly same) and she thinks she can help Miller. Little does she know, Miller thinks she’s perfect and just wants to get closer to her and doesn’t think Delane would ever give him the time of day. Delane recognizes that Miller is super hot and sweet and perfect but lies about her experience (she’s also a virgin) so that he’s still let her help him.
It’s very steamy and if you like a submissive, golden retriever of a man, you’ll love this.
