Mixed Doubles: A bouncy rom-com -- first in the Lower Wallop series

Rate this book
The sun is shining and it's time for tennis down at Lower Wallop Lawn Tennis Club, nestled in the heart of the English countryside.

Pretty Emma is mad about the game and even madder about Gorgeous George, the unavailable club chairman. Boring Brian, the baseline slogger, is wildly in love with fragile Diana, wife of the philandering Oliver Pemberton-Jones. But Oliver is rather more interested in the pillowy lips and willowy legs of Lower Wallop's newest member, Beautiful Bea.

A new mixed doubles ladder cranks up the tension between all the male and female players, but will it be game, set and match by the end of the summer?

Will Oliver have his evil way with Bea? Will Diana finally desert her unfaithful brute of a husband? And will Emma find love beyond her passion for tennis?

Grab your racket and lace up your tennis shoes! Mixed Doubles is as gripping as a Wimbledon final and has more bounce than a tube of Babolat balls.

Hi there! I'm a former lifestyle and travel journalist, having written for a broad range pf publications from The Times to The Guardian, the Daily Mail and Harper's Bazaar. Now I'm a full-time author and I published my first book, Mixed Doubles -- a bouncy rom-com set in a quintessentially English country tennis club -- in 2022.

In December 2024 I published my second book, Motherhood -- a poignant but funny tale about how there is more than one way to be a mother. The idea behind it is that a woman doesn't have to have a baby to be a mother; she can 'mother' other things, from friends' or siblings' children to her pets or even creative projects. The novel was inspired by a quote from Jennifer Aniston, who is famously child-free and vocal on the topic of not being a 'mother' in the traditional sense.

I'm now working on my third novel, which will be about the grand theme of jealousy.

When I'm not writing I'm walking my dogs, watching Netflix and/or eating chocolate.
