She's sure her boss hates her…

Constable Charlotte Quinn is trying everything in her power to get herself transferred out of Wills Crossing. She wants nothing more than to return to Melbourne to pursue her career in law enforcement. Until then, Quinn plans on making the most of the Crossing’s outdoor wonders.

Afghanistan left Jason Fletcher a shadow of his former self.

He’s agreed to move into The Sanctuary to appease his family, but has no expectations of getting better any time soon. With the past weighing on his mind, Fletch decides getting back to nature can’t do any harm.

A chance meeting reminds both Quinn and Fletch of the value friendship and the importance of focusing on love rather than loss.

Jason Fletcher and Charlotte Quinn throw themselves into adrenaline-fueled adventures to numb themselves to painful emotional pasts. As a Constable in small town Wills Crossing this leads Quinn to ongoing conflict with her supervisor and fellow officers.

I enjoyed watching these two similar characters try to have a no strings relationship and not catch feelings. They are both hurting and avoiding talking about or dealing with their hurtful pasts; however, they are both more at peace while together.

The characters in this series have become like close friends after reading all three books in the series. I think this book would be best enjoyed after reading the two prior books, and possibly even the prior series to have a more complete understanding of the nuances of the story.

Quinn is a daredevil outside of work much to the chagrin of her boss and is fighting demons no one knows about, meeting Fletch was not what she expected. Fletch is fighting his own demons and as much as he would rather isolate himself one trip to the ski fields and a sassy elderly resort owner along with a competition with Quinn makes him open up more.
I really liked how both Quinn and Fletch have pasts that stop them from moving forward along with how their connection is instant yet neither want to look deeper into it.
You get laughs, friendly faces, heartbreak as well as facing the past and moving on from it, finding love and most of all finding a home.

This is the third book in this series, and this is Fletch and Quinn’s journey. Fletch is ex-military and has been left a shell of the man he used to be and struggling with PTSD. Quinn is a police officer, who has conflict with her boss and colleagues, and just wants a transfer to another town. Both characters are struggling and haunted by their pasts, but they are kindred spirits. This is a good story which has family, friendships, humor, healing, heartbreak, emotions, and love, which leads to an enjoyable page turner.

A nice story to read. The characters come across as real and my heart went out to both.

Fletch who struggles with flashbacks after his time in Afghanistan and who came to Sanctuary after being arranged by his sister. Difficulty making contacts, he slowly comes out of his shell.
And Quinn, the cop who herself struggles with memories of her addicted mother and her childhood. I found her character to be strong and caring towards those around her.

You just can't not like any books in this series. It covers so many beautiful things. Alpha men who need help and equally powerful women who give it. Fletch & Quinn's chemistry melts snow. Crazy adventures that excites & support that heals. Another amazing addition!.
