STEVE NILES is one of the writers responsible for bringing horror comics back to prominence, and was recently named by Fangoria magazine as one of it's "13 rising talents who promise to keep us terrified for the next 25 years."

Niles is currently working for the four top American comic publishers - Marvel, DC, Image and Dark Horse. He got his start in the industry when he formed his own publishing company called Arcane Comix, where he published, edited and adapted several comics and anthologies for Eclipse Comics. His adaptations include works by Clive Barker, Richard Matheson and Harlan Ellison.

Steve resides in Los Angeles in his bachelor pad with one cat. While there's no crawlspace, there is a questionable closet in one corner and no one is quite sure what is hidden in there...but we have an idea.

So...um..guess what? It's a comic about zombies. I know right? So humans turn into zombies for a dumbass reason after trying to get ride of nukes due to world peace. Idiots! Anyways now most everyone is a zombie. Except for these two idiots in Vegas and some random people. No explanations. Zombies get smarter and eat each other. Then a new type of smarter zombies shows up. Through all of this there is terrible art.
So at the end of this zombie story, one of the idiots turns into a zombie. But an intelligent zombie...looking for revenge? Do I care? No. Should you care? I can't say. Probably not. Do you really, really, really love comics about zombies? Oh and putrid art? You do? Hey..you found a comic to read! Me? I'll pass. I'm pretty sure I've read some series called the "Walking Dead" already....thanks for the memories though.

As bad as anything zombie related on the syfy channel

Lame art and a predictable story equals a waste of my time. Just a poorly created story and the idea behind it, a mish mosh of other ideas i didn't care for in other mediums.

I love zombies. I read, watch, listen everything about zombies. So why wouldn't I read a comic about Zombies? Soooo...It's not the best storyline I've ever read. It's just ok. The art is just okay. Overall? It's just ok.

Two marks in Reno survive the early days of the zombie apocalypse until the zombies get smarter, another survivor comes along, somebody betrays somebody, and somebody gets away for the cycle to renew itself. Feels like it could have fit inside of a single issue instead of taking up five.

This was an entertaining graphic novel but it ultimately doesn’t contribute much new content to the sub-genre of zombie fiction.

Remains, the latest zombie-themed graphic novel from the prolific Steve Niles, is thematically derivative of the author's earlier works. He uses a very cinematic approach, capturing the essence of a high-octane, adrenaline-fueled summer blockbuster. The story comes across as somewhat clichéd, but is elevated by the kind of snappy dialogue that one comes to expect from Niles. What truly sets Remains apart however is artist Kieron Dwyer’s exceptional illustrations. Muddied colors wash over bold, chaotic linework, bringing a true sense of a world in ruin. It makes for a marvelous visual experience, gruesome and visceral in its execution. While I do wish that more thought had been put into the story, the elegant and barbaric ferocity of the illustrations makes this a must-have for horror aficionados.

Zombies y pareja dispareja en plan comedia negra. Diversión de media tarde sin mayor pretensión y con buenos momentos.

Gory, humans being monsters, humans under siege, and zombies that change.

A decent read. I personally felt the art style was fitting for the topic. A little rough around the edges.
