I had the best sex of my life with a man whose name I didn’t even know. No names, no strings, and…. no panties. Long story. Don’t ask.
So imagine my surprise when I walk into my dad’s office a week later and see none other than the man who has my panties, but not my name. Turns out, he’s the Avalanche’s hotshot goalie, twelve years older and my father is his coach. As if all of that wasn’t bad enough…
We still can’t seem to keep our hands off each other. The man is famous for.. Using his hands. Soon we’re stealing moments together in secret, putting us both on the line. Hudson “Romeo” Rome is everything I can’t have. Not when my relationship with my father and his career in the NHL are at stake. Yet, between secret moments and stolen kisses, I find myself falling for Chicago’s playboy playmaker.
Playboy Playmaker is the last book in the Totally Pucked series and can be read as a TOTAL standalone.
As excited as I was to read this book, I was also sad because it’s the final book in the Totally Pucked series 🥲 I didn’t want to say goodbye, but at least I can say that Maren Moore did the last book justice 💙
It’s no secret that Maren writes some of my favorite hockey romances — they’re always such fun and quick reads with lots of love and spice that could help get anyone out of a slump! And the coach’s daughter, forbidden, and secret friends-with-benefits aspects in this book only added to the excitement 🤭
Caroline was such a joy to read about! She’s an extroverted, confident, and hardworking queen 👑 I feel like I haven’t read about many characters like her, so getting to know her was refreshing. On the other hand, Hudson SERVES boy-obsessed, reformed playboy 😫 Seeing him unable to resist his feelings for Caroline was everything! These two had the hottest chemistry right off the bat, but they also had a deeper connection that I loved seeing unfold. Despite all the sneaking around and obstacles in the way, Caroline & Hudson found solace and everything they didn’t know they were looking for within each other 🫶 That being said, this is also probably Maren’s spiciest book to date (in my opinion), so take from that what you will 👀 There's also a storyline with a character named Wren that I absolutely adored 🤧
Overall, I am grateful to have discovered and read this series from the beginning. While this didn’t top my loves Auden & Asher from The Penalty Shot, I think it was still worth the read. And with all the appearances from previous couples in this universe, the found family vibes brought it all together lovingly to a close in this last book 🥹 Even though there won’t be any more releases in this series specifically, I’ll be eagerly waiting for whatever Maren has to deliver next 😌
Thank you so much to Maren Moore & her team for an ARC of this book! 💌
Trigger Warnings include: possible drugging, attempted sexual assault
After playing the best season of his career, Hudson still feels like something is missing. But then Caroline walks into his life. She takes him by storm. A tornado through his mind and heart. She has him questioning everything in his life. It broke my heart the way he hated his reputation. His heart is just as beautiful as his mouth is dirty. And I wasn’t prepared for either! I gotta give them both credit, they do a pretty good job riding the friendship line. Until they just can’t anymore. But because of that friendship they build? They find trust and acceptance. Which gives them each a comfortable space to share their secrets, doubts, and worries. Hudson and Caroline were free, enjoying each other’s company. It’s easy, carefree. What goes on behind closed doors is a serious bonus! Being with Caroline threatens everything Hudson has, but when he realizes he was more concerned over losing her than whatever consequences he would face being with her? My heart nearly short circuited! And shoutout BFF Tatum for helping Caroline sort through her feelings! I was getting worried, because I ADORED Caroline and didn’t want to see her make the wrong decision because she was confused!

9/10 Dirty Birdy 8/10 Age Gap 6/10 Forbidden 6/10 Friends to Lovers 8/10 Sports Romance
If you love sports romance, you cannot miss Playboy Playmaker by Maren Moore. I cannot tell you how much I love Hudson and Caroline's story. The epic bromance. The angst of forbidden love. The tension of forced proximity and the sweet build up of the emotional connection. Hudson is so swoony but when he switches on his dirty talking alpha side, all bets ( and panties) are off. Caroline is the amazing mix of sweet and sassy. The age gap adds to the hotness of this story. All the feels. All the fire. And one h3ll of sports romance perfection from Maren Moore!
The Playboy Playmaker of NHL Hudson Rome got the shock of his life when his coach introduces his college student daughter to him and requests him to keep an eye on her as she will be working for experience in the same charity organization where Hudson volunteers. Why? She is the one night stand he cannot forget. And completely forbidden.
Oh my God I absolutely love Hudson and Caroline!! Hudson isn’t much of a playboy here. He is tired of puck bunnies. All his teammates are paired up with kids and he feels he need to find something permanent and meaningful in his life beyond hockey. Now Carolina is unexpected. There is a good age gap and she is the coach's daughter. But she is full of sass and boldness. She may be younger but she is very much clear about her desires and her feels. It was a complex situation. Hudson did act like an ahole sometimes as he was scared and Caroline faced everything with fire. Their chemistry was undeniable and their love story was inevitable. A bit of heartache and heartbreak only sweetened the deal. The bromance was so epic!
This little swoon of perfection would not have found its way to me if I hadn't read Wren's Epilogue for Rebound Rules by Maren Moore in the "A Hockey Romance Anthology - Hockey Hearthrob" I lapped up every word in this little Epilogue - Wren was delicious - So, when Maren asked if I need more - I replied - YES... YES... Fuck Yes!! and proceeded to feast my eyes on Playboy Playmaker. "like father - like son" *wink-wink* #iykyk
The instant chemistry between Charlotte and Hudson was on point. Charlotte was so much fun and Hudson was there to take in... drink in.... every little last drop.
I haven't read the others in this series but wow was this hot and so much fun. We have a one night stand turned into them finding out they will be working together. The spice was amazing from the like second(?) chapter when it begins, all the way to the end. It had some really funny moments as well. If you like possessive, growly men- this is your book. Even if you don't like sports, this hockey romance was just so much fun and hot as hell. Definitely recommend and I look forward to reading the others in this series!!!
“I’ve never been in love before, not until you. And realizing that I had fallen in love with you somewhere along the way was like a shock to my system. It snuck up on me until it consumed me whole.”
hockey player with a bad reputation. coach’s daughter. one night without real names. age gap (20&33). forbidden/secret relationship. lots of spice and a hero with a very dirty mouth.
I was a big fan of the series but after not really connecting with The Penalty Shot, I can safely say I fell back in love with the Totally Pucked Series! It gave everything it needed to give with the age gap, the smut, the banter, the angst and a team of hot hockey players with major daddy vibes!
*I was kindly given an ARC in exchange for an honest review*
𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 4/5 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: It was just supposed to be a random hookup and Caroline was never to see him again! Until a few weeks later when she walks into her dads office (head coach of the Chicago Avalanche hockey team) to find the guy she hooked up with is the teams number one goalie… On top of that, now they are both forced to work together at a local hockey community center.
**fun time enters the chat**
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭: » Age Gap (33/20) » Random Hookup » Hockey Romance » Coaches Daughter 😶 » He Falls First
𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: 💭 I took a chance on a random Kindle Unlimited book that I saw on an Instagram aesthetic reel (that I cannot seem to find at the moment) and damn…. It delivered! Everything about the male main character was just PERFECT. Men written by women is chefs kiss 🤌🏼 and Hudson falls first hard. It was the cutest. damn. thing. ever.
Side note, this is apparently book #6 in the series (whoops lol I skipped a few), but it can 100% be read as a stand-alone. The books prior just go in more detail about his teammates who do make appearances in this book.
I loved this book! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book, and I’m so thankful! I hadn’t read the previous books in this series, but I didn’t feel AT ALL like I had missed anything. This is the perfect standalone! I’m definitely going to back read Maren’s work!!
The way Hudson and Caroline’s story started was excellent; I was hooked from the beginning! I also loved how Maren made the hockey component’s quite prominent, as well as the romantic storyline - a true hockey romance!
Definitely check this book out if you love off limits relationships, he falls first (my absolute favourite), age gap and, of course, hockey romance!
I'm gonna say something very controversial, but this is the BEST book in the series! Everything was absolutely phenomenal, and I was hooked from the very first page! I mean with all the tropes, I knew this would be a winner, but I didn't expect to fall in love with Hudson and Caroline. They were so perfect together, and even though they had one heck of an uphill battle to climb, the way they came out on the otherwise was just so beautiful.
Hudson is a hockey player who is just burnt out. All of his teammates and friends have settled down and had children, and there's just him (and our Rookie!) who's on the outskirts. Plus he's tired of his playboy facade the media likes to Amp up, when that's the further thing from the truth these days. He's waiting for his life to have purpose again, and that comes in a tiny bit very curvy spitfire who challenges him at every turn, but could also be the downfall for entire career.
Caroline had no idea who Hudson was when they met and spent a few (HOT🥵🥵🥵) hours with, but now that she realizes he's the much older hockey player her dad coaches, she knows he's off limits forever. If only they didn't work together and she could see him the way nobody else sees him. If only they weren't at different stages in their life, and only if they could keep their hands to themselves. They convince each other that they can be a secret hookup with no feelings attached, but you know what they say about best laid plans. *winks* and you know both of them had feelings from that very first night, even if they don't want to admit it.
I could go on and on about how much i love this couple, but omg, I LOVE this couple! Hudson is easily at the top of the list for all time favorite book boyfriends, and the way he loved Caroline was just everything. And although Caroline was young, she wasn't naive either. They both fit together so well, and I love how sassy Caroline was with him while also keeping his heart safe. I just loved every moment these two had together!
Also the heat?! 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵 Maren wasn't playing around, ya'll. This is hands down one of the hottest books I've ever read!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions **
The Totally Pucked series started with such a high and it ended with that same high.
✔️Age-Gap ✔️Forbidden ✔️Steam ✔️Hot Mouth Hero This one has it all!
Playboy Playmaker is the last book in this 5 star series and one of my all time favorites in this whole series. Hudson can melt your heart his charm and his mouth. I’m talking totally 🥵…..Bring out the fans! The boy is HOT! Our FMC is truly one of a kind. She’s sassy and definitely what Hudson needs.
Hudson was immediately a favorite of mine. All these guys were. Maren really did a great job with who she picked for their heroines and that didn’t change once she got to this book. Hudson is so easily liked. His heroine can give just as good as she gets. She’s his perfect match. This book was so good. From beginning to end I was just drawn to each page.
This series is a world you can just get lost in. Maren didn’t only publish a few 5 star books she made sure she would create a whole series of 5 stars. Each book was a 5 star for me. Playboy Playmaker was the best way to close out this series and even though I’m sad to to see it end I couldn’t be more excited to see what Maren creates next!
I always think I have found the perfect book boyfriend and then Moore writes another book. Hudson Rome is just as amazing as the other guys in this series, but there is something he brings to the table that no one else does. And that’s his patience and strong ambition. I could literally go on and on about how amazing he is, but you just have to read it for yourself and see 😉
I absolutely loved Caroline! She is such a strong female character. She had dreams and worked hard to achieve them just like the rest of us!
These 2 made the pages of this book sizzle!!!! Even though the sex was HOT, their connection was hotter! It was wonderful watching them fall in love and make a life together.
Even though this series has come to an end- I’ve enjoyed every book. If you love HOT alphas, daddies 🤭, smart and strong heroines, and men devoted to their girls- then you will love this Maren Moore series!! Highly recommend! _________
Move over Asher, Hudson is here and has taken over as my favourite of Maren’s hockey men! Maren is an auto-read author for me and I was super excited to read the wrap up of this series!
Having loved Hudson as a side character throughout this series, I loved learning more about him, his desires, his fears and his deep love for his friends, their wives and children. Hudson was the absolute sweetest; the things he said and did for Caroline (and sweet Wren) were just beautiful. I also loooove the found-family aspect of this series! It is absolute perfection!
The banter between Hudson and Caroline is top tier, and I live for a gal who can both give it, and take it right back. She is absolutely my favourite female character from the series! She was unashamedly herself throughout the whole book, she owned her mistakes and her heart! The chemistry between Hudson and Caroline was absolutely on, the spicy scenes had me blushing and the sincerity of these characters was simply stunning!
Tropes:
🏒 hockey romance 🏒 age gap (F20 / M 33) 🏒 forbidden and secret hook ups 🏒 coach’s daughter 🏒 he falls first (and hard)
Thank you to Maren and her team for this 5 ⭐️ ARC! Such a joy to read!
Reading this series Hudson had always been one of my favorite side characters, so I was definitely excited for his story to come along. I was so sad that this series was coming to an end but Maren Moore closed this series out PERFECTLY! Reading this story, we get a look into how all the guys from The Totally Pucked Series are doing, giving the series closure without that taking over Hudson and Carolines story.
I could write pages of my love for Hudson and Caroline that’s how much I loved their characters. Every man Maren writes just gets better and better and their dirty talk gets even nastier! Caroline is hands down my favorite female character from this series. I love how driven she is! Another positive for me is how Hudson and Caroline’s story moved along quickly time wise without it seeming choppy and like we were missing out on things and parts of their story.
I am so happy with how Maren finished this series even if I want to go cry because it’s over and I love the men of the Chicago Avalanche! 5/5⭐️ 2.5/5🌶️
What an end to the series! This book was fun, sweet and very spicy…definitely one of the more spicy books in the series🌶️
Hudson Rome…this man was so hot! He had the sweetest heart and the dirtiest mouth🤭 I absolutely adored the way he worshipped Caroline, he was so GONE from the beginning with her! He had the best emotional growth too! Caroline was a great FMC, I loved her confidence and personality. They were so good together!
The scenes with Hudson and Wren completely had my heart and I’m so happy with how things ended up🥹 I was close to tears reading the epilogue!
I loved all the little cameos from the previous MC’s in the series. I’m seriously going to miss these characters🫶🏼
I was given an advanced readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary honest review. Wow I didn't think these hockey players could get any hotter or possessive, but Hudson damn was he hot and let's not forget possessive. The way he gets all growley when he's clenching his jaw Soo hot! Caroline I think is really young and put Hudson in some awkward situations but she's also really sweet and and caring. The ending of this series was perfect. But I'm still hoping Channing will Ger a book and hopefully they will be second Gen coming soon.
A super fun and smutty hockey romance. It has a forbidden, age gap romance. Hudson is the amazing goalie for the Chicago Avalanches and Carline evens is the daughter of the head coach who just transferred to a university i Chicago to be closer to her dad and rebuild their relationship. Hudson and Caroline are instantly attracted. The start out as a hook up then attraction and a friendship grow and then on from there. I liked that they were friends. They had excellent chemistry. The spice was immaculate and frequent. The ending was a bit rushed but this was an enjoyable hockey romance.
In this forbidden romance Hudson Rome, a hockey goaltender, and Caroline Evans, a college student, are the main characters of Maren Moore's Playboy Playmaker.
Hudson Rome. The one who raises your standards for you because he is so amazing and charming. Because my gosh, he was so whipped for Caroline after their one night together, that he actually tried to see her afterward because he knew he needed more. I mean, everything Hudson did for his girl was genuinely admirable and wonderful.
Maren, you never let me down when it comes to heroes with their amazing dirty talk in bed, because the dirty talk in this book had me swooning. Also, despite my HOPE that Hudson would come through and fuck Caroline's titties in the end, the other smut scenes more than made up for it.
All in all, I can't believe this series has ended, but I will say that I'm pleased with how it concluded, with each hockey player having his own wife and children. The best found family ever!
*Thank you to the author, Maren Moore, for providing me with this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.*
Thank you to Maren Moore for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review
That is it, the end of my absolute favourite series. The perfect ending to my favourite hockey romance series. The one that introduced me to the perfect men. The story of Hudson was incredible and it was also so different. That man, oh my, that man is just so so hot. His dirty mouth is something that made me drool. His possessiveness and his caring and sweet behavior made me fall in love with him. The way he cared and loved Caroline and how he worshipped her behind closed doors was to live for. Caroline is a sweet and beautiful character. She's the sunshine that Hudson needed in his life. The way this woman was so drawn to him and was mesmerized by him was so beautiful. Their relationship started so unexpectedly but moved on to becoming so much more for both of them. Seeing their intimate moments and how they both acted with eachother made me swoon. Their steamy moments were to die for. Definitely Maren's hottest book. The forbidden aspect of it was incredible. The bond Hudson created with Wren was also so beautiful and made me so so happy to see him being overprotective of him. The last chapter had me sobbing, it was the most emotional and nostalgic chapter for me and it's also my favorite. The love confessions were also off the charts. The way I could feel their love meant a lot to me. Hudson and Caroline are perfect for eachother.
Book by: Maren Moore Tropes: • Forbidden romance • Age gap • Coach's daughter • Sports romance • Secret relationship • No strings attached • He falls first • Found family
This is such an amazing and emotional finish to the Totally Pucked series. Loved it. Could not be happier with how Hudson’s story wrapped up!
In the midst of what should be the happiest moment in his life, Hudson, NHL super-goalie, realizes that something or someone is missing. His Playboy Playmaker days feel behind him and he’s looking for more meaning in his life.
One last closet tryst leaves him reeling and unable to track down the Juliet to his Romeo. Then she turns up as the last person he’d ever suspect.
With his career as the most important part of his life, he shouldn’t be willing to put it all on the line for a college girl who is only asking for a fling. But everyone’s feelings grow as they keep things on the down low.
Caroline and Hudson start off with a bang (literally and figuratively) and their chemistry is insane. This is definitely one of the spicier books as these two can’t keep their hands or anything else off each other. Hudson is an experienced partner and it shows!
I loved how much emotional growth and maturity Hudson shows in this book! From his relationship with Caroline to his big brother status with Wren. He has left those playboy days behind and he is showing up in a big way for the people he cares for.
Such a great ending for these two and this series. Loved it so much!!
honestly???? i’m still thinking about chapter 2 lmao. what a way to open a book. hudson was one for the ages that’s for sure! i will say i totally expected this to be an accidental pregnancy book bc it’s maren moore aka queen of hot dads so when i got to 60% complete and no one was pregnant i was so confused (and a little sad bc you know i love pregnancy). overall it was a fun read but not my favorite of maren’s. i’m SO excited to get into her new baseball book though!
Hudson 😍😍😍 was so swoony. I loved his character. He was also so sweet and protective and a dirty talker 🥵. I liked Caroline too. She was sweet and a little sassy. She pissed me off a little bit at towards the end of the book. Usually that’s the man’s job, but.. it was tiny and I got over it fast.
Safety Safe. No ow/OM drama. They only have eyes for each other. Neither virgins. Former man whore. 13 year age gap.
