Beautiful photography of 20th century Egypt and its ancient monuments by Graham Harrison, accompanied by rather dry text from TGH James. The author compares ancient and contemporary Egyptian life. The book is well researched and sometimes illuminating. I imagine that since the Arab Spring, much of the content is now outdated.
