Dear J.L. Drake
You put me through a ringer with this book. You sucked me in, fed me delicious words and connections. Then you spit me out and left me crying hysterically, to turn the page and begin laughing. I felt like I was on a rollercoaster with ups and downs, twists and turns, love and hate ....
To finish all I can say is thank you for the ride, it was pure perfection.

Oh my goodness what a rollacoster of a ride.
This book hit the spot with a perfect balance of spice and intrigue / mystery - totally ticking my suspense romance boxes.
Ty has just returned from his deployment in Afghanistan and the scars are still fresh in his mind when he gets picked to join the elite secret team Blackstone at the Shadows.
Ivy has dedicated her time to helping soldiers with PTSD, but when her life and safety are threatened she agrees to move to an undisclosed location and support soldiers fighting a different type of war.
Ivy and Ty’s chemistry is off the charts and the spice was just perfect. They’re both dealing with some pretty heavy things but somehow know that the other is the right person to support them through it.
This book took me on a rollercoaster of emotions and the cliffhanger has me begging for book 3 immediately!

If I could post a standing ovation, I’d do it for this book. JL Drake once again took me on an emotional rollercoaster. Ivy and Ty’s story is so beautifully written. It sucked me in from page one. When I got to the end, I kept trying to flip pages to get more, I wasn’t ready for it to be over. I love how in this series we are getting to see how it all began, the ups and downs, the…everything. Words can’t do Justice for how great this book is.

This book was absolutely amazing.
The beginning will give you an in depth view of Ty and all that he is carrying with him. My heart broke many times while reading this book. I laughed, cried, swooned, and got angry. There are some awesome easter eggs in this story. My jaw dropped a couple of times.
Ivy is strong and very confident, but she is guarding her story and trying to ignore the gut wrenching fear.
Ty and Ivy are so compatible and they play off their strengths and weaknesses. They are spicy and so captivating.
I love this world, and all of the characters. I love how this author incorporates her other worlds. It's so nice to read a series and see connections with the other stories.
I can not wait to read the next one. I need it NOW!!

J.L. Drake does it again! Man, this book was good! The whole team and their family continue to grow. The new characters are perfect additions, and their chemistry is electrifying.
And that ending! Wow! As this Dark Water Series develops, it just keeps getting better and better.
Side note: Reading the other Blackstone and Broken series is so worth it, too. While this book is still wonderful without the knowledge from those novels; you see the little things that make you smile, knowing the story behind it. The characters are that much more dynamic, too.

This author gets me every time - I LOVE HER BOOKS!
Thankfully we are back in the mountains, back with the soldiers and their women we love. Doc Roberts niece, Dr. Ivy Knight, is joining the 'company' as the the psychologist.
Back from Afghanistan is now 'Major' Ty Beckett; he is coming to join Shadows, he isn't looking for a relationship, or even a women - but the sparks fly after meeting Ivy, he is stung. He can't get her out of his mind, she feels the same; but Ivy is going through some personal stuff, that had her whisked out of Washington, and under the protection of the men in Montana.
Ty is dealing with some stuff from his missions, and Ivy can help him, if he is totally open and honest, so much is happening with both of them - but the flame has been ignited, they find it hard to be apart.
She is working, so is he - she gets to stay put, but he is taking on dangerous missions against the cartel in Mexico; can they make is work - it is still such a short time since they met - but they know that they mean something to each other.
I can't wait till the next book - to see what will transpire between these two.

We’re back in Montana!! All your favourite Blackstone members are teaching the newest members, Ty and Ivy, the ropes. In true Drake style, there are twists and turns and cliffhangers aplenty. I’m so happy to be back home, Loved it!!

Drake brought us back home again with a bang! It was amazing getting to see where Blackstone is today and how they are expanding. It’s one of my most favorite series and I was ecstatic when she said she was going to start a new one, Dark Water. Ty and Ivy are perfect for the house. They fit in seamlessly and they both bring a new dynamic to the team that was needed. I’m glad to see the pranks are still going strong with this crew. It’s good to keep a sense of humor with all the darkness surrounding them. Let’s just say it’s not all rainbows and unicorns at the house right now. It’s a hard start for Ivy and Ty too. They are thrown right into the thick of it but end up showing everyone that they can handle their own. Be prepared for the cliffhanger though! She’s not pulling any punches this time and leaves your jaw flat on the floor.

OMG another amazing book by J.L.Drake. I mean really all of her books are amazing. I love the true emotions that Ty and Ivy are going through. It just feels so real, like they are family and you want no need to help them out. This book also has twist and turns, it an emotional rollercoaster. There are parts I screamed NOOOOOO, and then I was like I want to punch or kick or beat him (read the book to get), I'm like oh no he didn't try and trick Ivy, just to come back and be like Ty man I got your back. But most importantly is that the guys will always have each other's back and that didn't change with Ty coming into the house, it like it grew and got stronger. On the flip side.. I was never a fan of Lexi and always wanted Keith to find a better woman (that's all I'm saying about that).

Ty and Ivy’s story is beautifully written. This book had my emotions all over the place. Neither of them are looking for a relationship, but when sparks fly between the two of them, and the heart wants what the heart wants. These two are in lust but can it turn into more? They deserve happiness instead of loneliness, but will secrets destroy there a chances? This book ends in a cliffhanger, and I can’t wait for the conclusion.

We’re do I start, J L Drake you sure know how to keep a book in someone’s hands, I could not put this down!!! It’s so great to go home again! And that is what you gave use and more! Ty and ivy fit right in with the rest of the blackstone team, there story is so different from the rest but yet have that same energy, and what Ty went through and did to get to where he is! All I can say is thank you for another amazing story

This book definitely sucked me in. So many emotions and good twists. Ty and Ivys story was so beautifully written. I loved being back at the mountain with the rest of the crew. I can't wait to read the next one!

Just like the first book in the series, I was sold from the beginning. I got sucked in like I was living it right along with the characters.
The build-up, the twists and turns, the rollercoaster that I was on, it was such an amazing read. It does set the bar high for what’s to come, but I have no doubt it will be even better.
But again, this author leaves us with a major cliffhanger, which resulted in a major bookhangover for me. I already have the next one on pre-order.

J.L. Drake did it again!! I am in love with Ty and Ivy. I read this in a day and couldn't put it down. An action-packed romance that will leave you wanting more with all your favorite people in the J.L. Drake world. In true J.L. Drake fashion, you will be left with a cliffhanger, which I love!!!

Y'all I was not ready for the emotions this book caused. Ty and Ivy are both new to the to the Shadows team and neither wants a relationship but shew the sparks and flames are there. These two have issues and they don't know if they can get past them secrets and personal issues can cause it all to explode. The cliffhanger isn't for the faint of heart so bring on book 3.

Well she did it again.
She found another set of characters that I fell in love with. From Ty, and his time overseas to Ivy & the danger lurking over her shoulder. She managed to web a whole new character into this story.
She yet again left my saying WTF & wait-WHAT!
Drake knows how to leave me wanting more, and I have a feeling we're going to get it.

What a roller coaster of a ride this book took me on!! Playing with my emotions along the way with all the twist and turn. Ty and Ivy's story sucks you in and takes you on one hell of a ride. It left me hanging and wanting more. I am loving this journey that J.L. Drake is taking me on with more Blackstone and can't wait to see more to come from them all.

This is the second book in this series. I think they are better read in order. This book starts right about where the first one leaves off. Dr. Ivy Knight finds herself in the middle of something horrible. Her uncle decides she will be best protected where he is at Shadows. Ty has been in Afghanistan for 8 years. His last mission is a crazy one. Now he is looking for the next chapter in his life. He has been given a spot at Shadows. It doesn’t take long for Ivy and Ty to meet and the sparks are instant. Only both are dealing with other things. But maybe the distraction is exactly what they both need. We all know things won’t stay as simple as simply physical. This book has lots of twists and turns with a soft ending. Ivy and Ty find a course but someone is still after Ivy and Ty is still dealing with things that happened right before he came home. I truly love the characters in this series. D.L. Drake has done a fantastic job with this series and this world. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Ty and Ivy have made my list of couples I just love. To have them in a world I love makes their story even better. It would not be a true JL Drake book with out the WTF moments and boy do we get them. This action packed romance will be added to my re read list for sure!

Broken has always been my favorite series from JL Drake, so I love the Blackstone guys so much. Whiskey was just incredible! We meet Ty, the newest member with a heck of a story from Afghanistan, which follows him home. We meet a new house member Ivy, who’s not just there for work. Both of their pasts are after them, and the heat between Ivy and Ty was instant.
Ty and Ivy weren’t the only rollercoaster ride of a storyline, so pay close attention to the background. I’m not going to give it away! But this is Drake, and she’s the queen of plot twists and cliffhangers!! Just remember, when you leave shadows, you are no longer safe……….

J.L. Drake!!!!! That ending!!!!!!!! I did NOT see that coming! This is book two of this series, told in multiple first person POV, and leaves you on a cliffhanger, but I promise you that it is definitely worth the wait for the next book!
I loved Ty and Ivy. Their chemistry is off the charts and their souls are like two magnets who can’t fight the need to connect. Both have demons and danger knocking at their back doors, both are lost in the world until they get an opportunity to join the Blackstones. Once there, their lives that are in turmoil slowly start to be put back together with the love and support of all the Blackstone members and their families. I love all the banter, humor and pranks that are thrown in, it really shows just how close this family that was made by choice is.
I love that not only do we get to see the good guys side of the story, but we are also granted the insight of what is happening on the bad guys side as well. I love that the “villain” is starting to be cautious and I’m curious to see how this all plays out!

AHHHHH Jodi is a genius when it come cliffhangers in one sentence. That one sentenc has such a impact on the characters and the world of Blackstone...no spoilers
I love the Blackstone world because they are a family a mix of husbands and wives. Blackstone goes through tense and scary fights and gun fire that they use banter to cope with the situation. I have that sense of humor when am trying to cope with stuff happening to me. Jodi just has that natural talent at getting the right balance
Ty & Ivy love story to me was a slow process to build up trust. Ivy is ready to dive into it all and Ty just feels he does. I love it when the wives get involved and the boys with their "sort of wisdon" haha I love Mark for it 🤣 (Mark & Mike are my favs)
Eric...he is the villian that I can’t help but pity. There was scene where he watches a group of people smiling and laughing without a care in the world. Yet where he stands them people have no idea what world they are close too and dangerous he is.

Book two in the Dark Water series, Whiskey was so amazing, and such a rollercoaster ride when it came to your emotions. Ivy and Ty's story is beautifully written, and it's one that you will want to devour, but will be sad when it comes to an end. I binged this in one sitting because it was so good. I laughed, swooned, and said choice words at times. Even though this is only book two in the series, it just keeps getting better and better as the series goes on.

An unfortunate event has him losing a team member and close friend – completely unnecessarily in the final days. Dr. Ivy Knight, psychologist, must leave her patients and her home for reasons unknown to the reader for much of the story. These two are new team members of Blackstone special Ops at Shadows out west.
An amazing team exists, cartel operations require a second team be built – with Ty as their leader. Romantic, action-packed, emotional and pure entertainment all packed into this wonderful story. Ends with a terrific lead-in to the next story – sign me up!!

I didn't think any series would come close to replacing Broken as my favorite, but thus one might! I'm just upset we have to wait until August for Alpha 😉

Excellent story! I did not read book one, but I had no problem following along. I loved the characters, the action and the story lines that weave through the book. This one does end on a cliffhanger, but I cannot wait until the next book. Now to go back and read book 1!
