I think this is probably my favorite so far in this K-9 continuity series. I love cold case mysteries and how this was a cold case woven with a current day one was an absolute match for me. This was a superbly done story that I couldn’t put down. I loved all the twists and turns and this one really did keep me guessing at how it would all turn out. It’s probably a good thing I read an ebook of this one-it I’d had a physical copy-I’m not sure I’d have been able to resist peeking!! Great read for me!
I received a copy of this book from the author and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
I love this book! Set in the picturesque Pacific Northwest, Nick and Officer Ruby Orton’s story unfolds as Nick and Ruby race to find who is attempting to abduct his small daughter, and murder him. With danger at every turn, this is a story of murder, suspense, intrigue, and nonstop action. It’s also a story of love, relationships, faith, wisdom, and hope. I love all the characters! And the beautiful, heroic K9 dogs made it even more heartwarming! It was perfectly written! Jessica Patch has done it again! I walked away from this book smiling! A Definite MUST READ!!!
Nick Rossi is a single father to little Zoe. Zoe has seizures. Nick trained Goldie to be her service dog and alert him when Zoe has a seizure about to happen. When they are at a bluegrass festival Zoe is kidnapped. Nick is terrified because twenty-five years ago his little sister vanished without a trace. The Pacific Northwest K-9 unit is called in to search for Zoe. Officer Ruby Orton and her K-9 Pepper lead the search. This is the sixth book in this series. I love the members of the K-9 unit and how they have each other's back. This is a exciting, intense action packed story full of twists and turns. Keeps you guessing till the end. A must read.
First, can we all just talk about that ADORABLE cover?!? The little girl on the front looks just as endearing as the author writes Zoe on the pages inside. Her sweet three-year-old speak and precious personality wrapped themselves multiple times around my heart, and I just wanted to pick her up and hug her! The father-daughter relationship between Zoe and Nick will melt you too, and her seizure dog Goldie (an appropriately named Golden Retriever) is just as sweet.
As a matter of fact, sweet (and smart) dogs fill this story – and my happiness meter – with Pepper and the rest of the K-9 team joining Goldie on a mission to protect cutie-pie Zoe from whoever keeps trying to kidnap her. Oh yeah – and the adult human characters are great too haha. Nick Rossi is a swoony single dad who runs an outfitter in the PNW. So… technically… he could be considered a cowboy. And I’m here for that. Adorable little girl, lots of fluffy dogs, and a cowboy single dad? Yes please! For her part, officer Ruby Orton fits seamlessly into their little family, an instant bond forming between her and Zoe – and an instant attraction zinging between Ruby and Nick to match. I really liked them together and as individuals.
The suspense had me on the edge of my seat, unable to put down the book until all was said and done. Because it’s not just someone trying to kidnap Zoe… in fact, the body count keeps getting higher and nearly gets even higher than that on more than one occasion. Lots of ‘close calls’ that were much too close for comfort, and some twists that I did not see coming. And while Cold Case Revenge has its own specific case to solve, there are also a couple of story arcs that are ongoing throughout this series. This is the first of the Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit books that I’ve read, but I didn’t feel lost. What I did feel was intrigued enough to go back and catch up on the series, first chance I get.
Bottom Line: There’s a reason Jessica R. Patch is one of my favorite romantic suspense authors, and Cold Case Revenge is exhibit A. The characters came to life on the pages, the suspense exuded chilling vibes and its share of stunning turns, the romance left me smiling and swooning, and the non-preachy faith thread spoke to my heart about surrender and trusting God. This author is so talented at telling a story, and I look forward to her next book!
(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book)
This book gripped me from the beginning and didn’t let up until the end. I couldn’t put it down! The characters were well done and some of my favorites, plus adding the K9s made it even better. The detail of the PNW was incredible. Highly recommend! (I received an advance reader copy of this book and all opinions are my own.)
This action-packed cold case meets present intrigue story kept me guessing until the end. It is full of twists, turns, and dogs. Little Zoe stole my heart, and I'm so glad Nick and Ruby were able to find their happily-ever-after in God's timing.
I received a copy of this book from the author and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
This suspense-filled page-turner was hard to put down. Jessica R. Patch did a wonderful job of catching the reader’s attention throughout the book. Even though it is part of the Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit series, it can be read alone. I highly recommend reading this book and the other books in the series. They are all great. I received an advanced copy of this book, and this is my honest opinion.
This book was mesmerizing with heart-pounding suspense, beginning with the kidnapping of a small child. Little Zoe is the center of Nick Rossi’s world since his wife had died, so when kidnappers threaten her safety, he happily accepts the help of officer Ruby Orton. Ruby and Zoe form a bond as they get to know one another, and I absolutely loved how attached Ruby got to little Zoe. The backstory is riveting and involves a cold case of Nick’s sister Lizzie being abducted over two decades ago and his fear that the same thing will happen to Zoe. As plans are put into place to keep Zoe safe and to find the bad guys, I just couldn’t stop reading. The pace is fast and the action is non-stop, with plenty of possible suspects and a big surprise at the end. This book has everything that I look for in good romantic suspense, including a happy ending after a lot of danger and mayhem. And, bonus! Dogs! Zoe has a service dog since she has seizures, Ruby has Pepper, her trained police canine and there are other K9s, too, who added to the story and my interest. Great story, dynamic characters and intense suspense! Disclaimer Disclosure of Material Connection: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author as a member of her review team. This book had so many sweet, cute parts and yet it also had some pretty scary parts. Parts that will keep the blood pumping in your head and heart. Whenever I pick up a book by Jessica R Patch, I know I will be taken on a ride for my life, and this one is no different! The one thing this book has that adds a bit of sweetness to it, is the character of Zoe. She’s the most darling little girl around. You can’t help but fall in love with her and her dog Goldie. I always try to figure out the bad guys in stories, but this one had me stumped. I never saw it. I have a sneaky feeling about who it was, but I kept saying, “No, it can’t be!” I love reading Jessica R. Patch's books! She does such a wonderful job of putting twists and turns in her stories, you never really know who the bad guy is until the very end. I love mystery and suspense and solving crimes, but Jessica Patch has such a skill that totally threw me off, and when I got to the “who done it” part, my mouth dropped and I knew WOW, this is a great author! I highly recommend picking up this book. However, I need to warn you, that you might not get much sleep until you finish reading it! I was given this book by the publisher and in no way did it influences my review, all opinions are my own.
Nick’s daughter disappeared and it is up to S.A. Ruby and her K-9 to find her. Once they find her it is scary trying to keep her safe because someone is trying to keep the past secret. Another 5 star book by a 5 star author! A must read!
Cold Case Revenge ( Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit #6 ) Jessica R. Patch This is book six of the Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit Series. This story is filled with heart pounding suspense, action all around, faith, love, kidnapping, and a very sweet little girl that touched my heart. I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
This book, Cold Case Revenge, was an amazing story. And as usual Jessica R Patch has all the elements of a great romantic suspense jammed pack in it. A cold case, kidnapped child, and a K-9. Nick and Ruby race against time to rescue his child and to figure out who's behind the attacks happening to him and his business. I love Nick and Ruby's interactions. This Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit series has been great.
Jessica Patch is one of my favorites and Cold Case Revenge, while a little different from most of her books that I’ve read, was a great romantic suspense story.
This book is such a very good read, it is full of suspense, mystery and it has some romance. It is a very good page turner , it has twists and turns . It is about a 25 year old cold case that is finally solved. It is very well written and I could just picture every scene in my mind. It is Christian based and a very clean read. I highly recommend it to anybody that loves books about cold cases that are solved and a book that is action packed. I loved the ending also.
How does a current day kidnapping tie into an unsolved cold case from a quarter century ago? Pull up a chair (but perch on the edge of your seat!) to find out in Jessica Patch’s Cold Case Revenge! When widower Nick Rossi’s three year old daughter goes missing, he is frantic! He immediately relives when his own sister was kidnapped over two decades ago. Fortunately Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit Officer Ruby Orton, with her K-9 partner Pepper, arrive with their team and quickly locate little Zoe. But the way the kidnapping was staged leaves many more questions than answers. Now they are targeting Nick, too, and it seems like they won’t stop until he’s dead. As Ruby and Nick work closely to protect Zoe, and themselves, they grow close. But they both have some emotional scars. Can the Lord work in each of their hearts to heal those scars and show them they could have a future together? I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.
Jessica R Patch has come to the forefront for me as a gifted suspense writer. I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This is book 6 in the series Pacific Northwest K9 Unit. It is part of an ongoing series. I read it without having read the previous books. It can stand alone and I was able to follow the plot without any issues. I enjoyed the story and how unpredictable the end was. I will say that I was so intrigued by the overall plot that I am going back to read the previous books in the series. This book reminds us that God uses the challenges in our lives to strengthen our faith if we put our trust in Him. He doesn’t always prevent the tragedies or trauma in our lives but He is with us as we face them if we put our trust in Him. Though this is the first book of the series I have read it is not my first book by Patch. I look forward to reading more!
Loved this book. Awesome writing, characters and storyline, kept me hooked from beginning. I received this ebook for my honest opinion . Have become Jessica R. Patch fan now!
Patch once again shows her amazing talent in an unstoppable, suspense filled read. Nick is a single father who has the most adorable daughter named Zoe. As daddy and daughter are enjoying their day, something unexpected happens. Zoe is kidnapped and time is of the essence to find her, especially with her medical issues. This kidnapping brings up memories of when Nick’s own sister was kidnapped and has never been found. K9 officer Ruby has come to be part of the search for Zoe and does not expect the connection she will have with this young child. As Nick and Ruby start digging deeper into the disappearance of Nick’s sister, they are blown away to find out the news revealed to them. If you are ready to keep yourself guessing who did it to the very end, then this is a must read. I have to warn you that once you read one book by Jessica Patch, you will definitely be instantly hooked. I would highly recommend this book!
I was given an ARC of this book and these are all my opinions.
Jessica R. Patch is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. As always her books have twists in them that keep you guessing until the very end when all the pieces fall together. This storyline was really good as she tied together the story of Lizzie's kidnapping 25 years ago and the repeated attempts of kidnapping Zoe.
As always, these Love Inspired Suspense books are clean mysteries with lots of action and of course a HEA. The Scriptures used were timely and appropriate and did not come across as just shoved in for the sake of making it Christian Fiction. It was nice to read a book where both characters while still being human and making mistakes were mature in their faith.
Set in Washington State, Cold Case Revenge is the sixth book in the multi-author Pacific Northwest K-9 Unit series. In this exciting, adventurous read we journey along with Nick, Ruby, and K-9 Pepper facing danger after danger in search of a kidnapper/murderer bent on revenge. Clever plot-twists kept me guessing at the outcome—just when I thought I had it figured out, another valid possibility popped up! Well-crafted, compelling characters drew me into the story and kept me interested. I love the way Ruby and Nick’s friends-to-more relationship develops even though neither one of them is looking for romance. I especially appreciate the strong faith thread woven throughout the book which reminds me to trust God to be enough no matter what life brings. I enjoyed this story, and recommend it as a must read for inspirational romantic suspense fans. Note: Each book in the series can be read as a standalone, but since there are several on-going cases that are continued from one book to the next and carry-over characters, reading the series in order might make for a more enjoyable reading experience. I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher with no obligation to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book had me on the edge of my seat from the first word to the last word! Never suspected who the real killer was the whole time, very well played out story line! Ruby and her K-9 dog was the best team and Nick and his daughter, Zoe was heartwarming father and daughter duo and the story brought to light the understanding of a support dog and being able to detect when Zoe was going to have a seizure! Awesome read, highly recommended! Thank you, Jessica R Patch for another great book and it was a privilege to review this book for you and all the readers!
I received a copy of this book. Great Story and characters. Full of action and plot twists... Loved the references to Mobile Alabama....Loved Nick, Ruby, and Zoe's story...
I love the Love Inspired Suspense books. They never fail to keep me on the edge of my seat. This story touches on kidnapping, murder, attempted murder, and a child missing for 25 years. Nick feels guilty because his sister was kidnapped when he was 8 years old and she was three. Ruby a member of the PNK9-Unit feels guilty because someone she was dating maybe involved in the reason one of their team is missing. Nick and Ruby must work together to keep Nick's three year old daughter safe from a kidnapper.
Quite a suspenseful story with a few twists along the way. I started this book at night and kept reading until I finished it. I loved the K-9s involved and the part they played in the story. I can’t wait to read more books by Ms. Patch and more K-9 books. I voluntarily read an advance copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Another great read from Patch! The story is gripping—always is when a child is involved. The characters are perfectly developed, and who doesn’t love a rescue dog!
I always look forward to a Patch story. And I'm always satisfied by the final page.
Thank you to the publisher for my advance copy. My review is truthful and unsolicited.
