Deadly Yellowstone Secrets is a fast-paced suspense filled with mystery and intrigue. A poacher is hunting bears in Yellowstone Park, and Tamala who studies them, sees him. She is helped to stay safe by Ranger Clint Jackson.

The story turns into a cat-and-mouse chase through the park, complicated by a bad storm. The mystery around who the poacher is builds throughout the story with intense moments of close calls. There are a couple of unexpected moments between Tamala and Clint but are quickly dismissed by their need to be safe.

I loved the ending which wrapped up nicely. Highly recommended.

I was given an ARC by the publisher and willingly chose to review it. A positive review is not required and all opinions are my own.

Scientist Tamala Roth's helping a bear that she has been studying to escape a poacher puts her as his target. Only Ranger Clint Jackson's timely intervention saves her life. Then, as Clint and his crew try to close up Yellowstone for the winter as an early blizzard strikes, Tamala has to hide from the poacher who seems familiar and knowledgeable of Yellowstone.

The tension was high, especially as the climax neared. I liked the main character's fears that no man would be interested in her because of her intelligence. That's not a problem someone usually encounters in a heroine. Some aspects of the plot irritated me, however. We don't learn why the bad guy could keep ahead of Tamala and Clint. The wrap-up at the end doesn't explain how the rest of the poaching crew is caught. Oh, they just were. Sometimes Clint and Tamala do dumb things which keep them running from the bad guy, rather than catching him. Some of the clues and information Trumbo includes don't really tie in well. For instance, the villain has a health problem, but it doesn't really tie into his character. It just shows that he was here. I will read more of Trumbo's books, but they will not be as high on my list as some other authors. Perhaps she will overcome some of these problems in her later books.

My Thoughts

Deadly Yellowstone Secrets is written by Kari Trumbo. This book starts out with action and didn’t let up.

Tamala has been tracking bears to study their movements in the Yellowstone National Park. She’s been on the lookout for her favorite bear Mama when she comes face to face with a poacher. She suddenly realizes that they are after Mama. She tries to radio for help but the poacher lays his sites on her. She suddenly finds herself in the fight of her life. When she’s trying to escape she runs into Ranger Clint Jackson.

Tamala doesn’t trust the Rangers. She and her team feel that they me involved with the poaching. She’s reluctant to trust Clint. However he wants to keep her safe.

Things seem to be settling down. Tamala is going to go home to Florida. However there’s a blizzard that puts a stop to all plans. Except the poachers. Who will not stop at anything to eliminate Tamala.

This book has lots of action and suspense. I loved the facts about bears. The mystery is wrapped up in perfect timing.

Thank you to the author, publisher and JustRead Publicity Tours for allowing me to read a copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

Deadly Yellowstone Secrets is the first book I have read by Kari Trumbo.

Tamala is a naturalist in Yellowstone Park. She is tracking the movement of one of the bears when she stumbles upon a poacher trying to kill the bear. It wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't locked eyes, putting her in the crosshairs.

Ranger Clint Jackson is the law enforcement ranger over the area where Tamala works. He rescues Tamala from the poacher's clutches, but Tamala isn't sure she can trust him. There had been rumors for years of poachers being rangers.

Deadly Yellowstone Secrets is a quick read that is fast-paced, intense, and full of deadly intent. The poacher seems to be one step ahead of Clint and Tamala the entire time. The mystery and intrigue will keep you turning pages until the story ends on a spark. From a bullet or love?

Thank you to JustReads Publicity for the opportunity to read this book. I was not required to provide a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If a killer doesn't get them the weather will...

Anyone who lives near a national park or protected area knows that the wilderness can be a deadly place – but Deadly Yellowstone Secrets puts that danger on steroids – in all of the best Love Inspired Suspense ways, of course.

I'm actually not completely new to Kari Trumbo's books as I've read and listened to some of her historical fiction, so, when I saw her name on a romantic suspense novel I knew I had to read it. And Deadly Yellowstone Secrets did not disappoint in either the suspense category or in the romantic sparks.

Kari Trumbo certainly keeps her readers on the edge of their seats as well as guessing in this exciting Love Inspired Suspense novel. It's a quick read that is perfect for curling up with a cup of something hot and a warm blanket as you get a little shiver from the icy cold Yellowstone wind...

(I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)

This book is the first I've read by this author, and was a fairly good read.

Negative Content, Triggers, Violence

A woman hopes that it was a friend that made a noise outside her house, but thinks that she'd be a "fool" to trust that hope.

A mention of a man thinking that a situation was forcing him to really consider a woman's question of allowing her to stay with him despite the rules (it was to keep her hidden from bad guys out to get her, but still a bad idea, because it would damage their reputations).

A mention of a man letting a woman in danger stay with him at his house for the night to keep her safe, the woman sleeping in his, while he sleeps on the couch.(Again, not a good idea.)

A man fought the urge to lay a hand on a woman's back to guide her, then gave in to the temptation.

A bad guy bent too close to a woman, his nose mere inches from her neck and he rested a hand possessively on her, pinning her. Then he slithered a single finger down her arm, reaching for his weapon.

A woman is shot in the leg while sking, and the man with her helps her out of her snow pants. A bright swath of red covered her outer thigh, and her pants were ragged and torn, hanging slightly open to reveal a gash.

A man and woman lay on a cabin floor together and cover up with blankets to share body heat and keep warm during a blizzard.

A mention of a man thinking that maintaining control with a woman around was like juggling fire.

A bad guy hits a man over the head with a pistol, knocking him out.
It is later mentioned that there was blood pooled by his temple. He later wakes up.

A mention of a bad guy having already described in gruesome detail to a woman he kidnapped exactly how he would kill her (if she did not escape). (She did).

A mention of pinpricks of pain covering a woman that was kidnapped from her face to her legs(from the bad guy's knife), but that they weren't half as bad as the knowledge that this wasn't over(the bad guy was not caught yet).
She was rescued, and was later given a blanket, and she hopes the "mess the poacher had made of her" didn't ruin the blanket.
The next day, her skin burned and tingled with the cuts from her attacker's abuse the evening before.

Like I said, this book was the first by this author that I've read, and although the writing style was a little slow to read, it was worth trying. If I had to say what made me want to read this book the most, I'd say it was the bear on the cover that drew me in the most. I might recommend this book for older readers due to some implied violence, and those who don't mind a slower writing style.

I felt that the action was a bit over the top. Being constantly shot at and kidnapped by a poacher and the escaping every time was a bit much. The action started right away by Tamala seeing a poacher shoot at a near, then at her. She thinks it might be an inside job if the park Rangers as he looks familiar to her. Clint hears the shot and comes running. I honestly didn't buy the relationship either. They are both standoffish because of past issues, and all of a sudden, over one conversation, they are in love. Nope. Just doesn't make sense.

Deadly Yellowstone Secrets

I loved this book so much that I read it in one day! It has everything I love in a good suspense/romance story. Danger, fear, confusion, and distrust make you need to keep reading and guessing which characters might be involved, and rooting for love and trust to happen.

Always trust your gut instinct

Tam had been bullied and hurt emotionally during school and college, making her believe that no man would want someone smart and so the few times she dated proved them to be true so she refused to let her heart open after that until she met Clint. He was suffering from his wife dying and never asking for him or telling him she had cancer. Clint swore he would never trust or be vulnerable again until Tam came around and was in danger. Excellent book, keeping you on the edge of your seat wondering how the bad guys knew and be one step ahead.

Deadly Yellowstone Secrets is a thrilling suspense novel of fast-paced action that is going to keep you reading because you can’t put it down! I loved it! I’ve read this author before and knew that her books are always amazing. This novel did not disappoint. Definitely one I’ll keep around for a re-read. After my teenagers are done reading it of course.

Someone is after the bears in the park. When Tamala gets in their sites because she sees someone shooting at a bear she knows she needs help. But she’s not sure who she can trust. The shooter seems to know too much to simply be a visitor in the park. Which means he might work there. And she doesn’t want to trust the wrong person. Add in that the rangers haven’t been able to stop the poacher yet and she thinks someone is on the payroll.

When she finally decides to trust Clint he gets put in danger too. Or maybe the person responsible always had a vendetta against him and now just has free range to hurt him. Whatever it is they are barely staying a step ahead.

Can they figure out who is behind it all? And can they do it before someone gets killed? Or before any more animals get killed? Wonderful fast-paced novel that I hope you check out.

Deadly Yellowstone Secrets
By Kari Trumbo

Rumors have a way of getting some of the truth right. And Yellowstone's say someone on the inside is helping poachers. And when a poacher hunting one of the bears Tamala Roth is studying sees her, she suddenly becomes his newest target.

Yellowstone Ranger Clint Jackson is determined to stop the hunter who has made the national park his hunting grounds. And to do that he'll have to keep Naturalist Tamala Roth safe. But Tamala can't identify her hunter, but there is something about him-something familiar.

As Clint and Tamala fight to stay alive and ahead of the poachers their efforts are hindered by an incoming blizzard. Can they survive and discover who is desperate enough to brave a blizzard to silence her? And who do they trust?

Deadly Yellowstone Secrets definitely keeps the suspense going full force and I loved how there was this natural distrust between the rangers and the naturalists. This played well into the poachers' hands while adding an additional unknown into the mix. This is part of the Love Inspired Suspense Inspirational Romance series which means this is a clean read so no gory, graphic details to keep you up at night. And the romance is sweet. Overall, this is a highly recommended book in my opinion.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.

LOVE Inspired books are a Favorite of mine. I like that the books are short, easy to read and come in many genres. The Suspense
series are truly a favorite of mine. Deadly Yellowstone Secrets by Kari Trumbo is the latest in the series that I had the opportunity to read.

Tamala Roth knows that someone is hunting the bears in Yellowstone National Park. She believes she is next and the killer is after her. She enlists the help of Ranger Clint Johnson to protect her. Clint and Tamala become trapped in a Winter Storm with the killer nearby. They realize they are in danger and must play "survival games". Will Tamala and Clint survive the storm and flee from the Killer?

I really enjoyed this book from cover to cover. The book was fast paced, filled with action and lots of suspense. I love how Tamala really got comfortable with Clint and the spark of a romance came through. I love how they kept each other safe throughout the danger. I also saw that Tamala and Clint had faith that God would also be with them and help them. The book is packed with Action, Romance, Faith and Suspense. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Suspense and Romance! FANTASTIC BOOK!

Deadly Yellowstone Secrets is a quickly moving, action packed suspense that kept me turning the pages one after the other until the very end. The danger surfaced almost at the first page and accelerated throughout a plot in which the main characters did not know who they could trust – possibly not each other. Despite the lack of trust, the attraction between them was almost palpable.

The story features Tamala, a naturalist who works in Yellowstone Park and studies bears. When she witnesses a poacher shooting at a bear she is tracking, he turns on her. Park law enforcement ranger, Clint Jackson rescues Tamala and they quickly realize they have a dangerous situation. As a winter storm approaches and the poacher seems to stay one step ahead of them, both Tamala and Clint wonder if the other is involved.

With every page filled with danger, plot twists, romance, and faith, Deadly Yellowstone Secrets should keep most readers happily engaged until its end.

Extremely intense action set in Yellowstone during the winter

Tamala is studying bears in Yellowstone when she sees a man illegally hunting them. Then that man takes a shot at her! Clint was in the area in his job as head law enforcement ranger in the park and protects her. But that is just the start. Someone now wants them both dead and has the resources to follow them around the park even during a blizzard. Will they survive long enough to stop this reign of terror? Or will the poacher and his buddies win in the end? Read this intense story to find out.

The pace is breakneck and the tone is uncertain with an action and character oriented storyline that has only one kiss. The characters are vivid and engaging. There is some praying, as there should be when you are fighting for your life, as well as talk about church and forgiveness. That wasn't an integral or necessary part of the story, though. Read this to stay on the edge of your seat! If that sounds good to you, enjoy!

Deadly Yellowstone Secrets is non-stop action from the get go! Tamala Roth is doing her job as a naturalist keeping bears safe from poachers. When she sees a poacher, he begins hunting her! She gets help from law enforcement ranger-Clint Jackson as they try to stay one step ahead of him. To further complicate matters, a blizzard makes their chance of survival even more difficult. This story is full of danger, suspense, scary risky events, the will to survive, wondering who to trust, holding on to faith in God, and coming to terms with feelings of love. I liked Tamala and Clint and their professions as well as Yellowstone for the setting. This book was well written and the author made it easy to imagine what was happening.

Readers will be caught up in this intense and action packed book set in cold and wintery Yellowstone National Park.
Naturalist Tamala Roth enjoys studying bears in their habitat but her life is threatened by a dangerous poacher.
Park Ranger Clint Jackson helps protect Tamala putting both their lives in danger during a dangerous blizzard.
Lots of heart pounding, adrenaline racing moments when the poacher was always one step ahead of them in relentless pursuit.
The snowy park descriptions added to the chilly pursuit.
Tamala wanted someone in a relationship who respected her intelligence and love of nature. Clint had to open his heart and trust again. I enjoyed seeing how their relationship played out.

I enjoyed this suspense. I liked that we were trying to figure things out right along with the characters. I thought the characters were great and I loved the setting. I also liked how the main characters struggled to open their hearts up to loving each other due to things that happened in the past. I liked seeing them grow as characters and seeing them grow closer together. I thought the story was engaging and I would read more by this author.

I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors.  A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.

I really enjoyed this Yellowstone National Park suspense story!

Ranger Clint and Tamala are on the run after they witness a poacher going after a protected National Park Bear, who then turns to hunt them. Lots of drama and suspense as they search for the poacher during a blizzard. I liked the interactions between Clint and Tamala and them getting to know each other as they protect each other from danger. Twists and turns, clean light romance and suspense. Review of Deadly Yellowstone Secrets by Kari Trumbo. Tamala does not like people shooting at her favorite bear in Yellowstone. She saw poacher and he is out to kill her because she can identify him. Clint Jackson is a Park Ranger and comes up on poacher shooting at Tamala. This story keeps you reading as danger mounts. Tamala and Clint are fighting to survive. God protects them several times. I recommend Kari's book. But you will be sitting on edge a lot. There is romance, danger, suspense and more. Tamala loves researching bears but she isn't sure if she should continue after all she is ensuring. Well worth the read.

This was the first book I've ever read by Kari Trumbo. It was a very fast-paced read. To me, a little too fast-paced. Instead of the suspense and romance growing as the story went, it just kept jumping back and forth, remaining about the same, filled with action, throughout the story. Not to mention, she left you in suspense with how she ended the story. The story, in my personal opinion, is not the greatest book I've ever read, but isn't the worst either.

I really liked this romantic suspense story happening in Yellowstone. It was easy to read and kept me interested. I also learned more about Yellowstone. Who is poaching bears in Yellowstone and why are they so determined to kill Tamala. Could Tamala trust Clint to help her avoid being killded or is he involved with the poaching. I highly recommend this book.
