Autobiograficky ladený román brilantného fabulátora ponára čitateľa do mladomanželského sveta, do ktorého rušivo zasahujú spoločenské problémy. Hlavný protagonista Daniel sa pokúša preniknúť k snom a túžbam svojej manželky, no namiesto toho sa od nej čoraz viac a viac vzďaľuje, až sa začne topiť v bezvýznamnej žiarlivosti. Vyvoláva v ňom vážne krízy, je mu na ťarchu, no zároveň ju v sebe neustále podporuje, komunikuje s ňou, žije s ňou.

Rudolf Sloboda was a Slovak writer, poet, playwright and scriptwriter.

He was one of the most original and important Slovak writers in the second half of the 20th century. Most of Sloboda's writings are based on his real life and experiences. His works are characteristic for their brilliant narrative style, closely following their themes and plot, as well as for the author's profound thoughts and depth of feeling. Sloboda's books are often built on the motive of love and related motives such as jealousy, eroticism, sex, but also loneliness, faith in God and search for the meaning of life.

Vycerpavajuca pitva ziarliveho cloveka, ktory je prekliaty schopnostou racionalizovat vsetok cit. "Svoju precitlivenost sa usiluje obracat na vecnost az krutost..."
