I’m on the fence with this book. While the premise was good, the book was lacking in so many ways. The whole thing was rushed, and what should have been the best book in the series is actually the worst. After waiting years for this book, it’s disappointing that it didn’t do the characters or the club that started it all the justice they deserved.
The highly anticipated release of Demon’s book is here and it was well worth the wait! I devoured all of the previous novels in the Heaven’s Guardians Series and while all of them have pulled at my heart strings, I just knew this book was going to wreck me! Demon is indeed haunted by the demons of his past and while the author warned that story was a difficult one, I was not prepared!
Demon has always been a bit of an enigma for me. I knew that he was troubled and spiraling, but he really captured my heart. His story is a dark one; one that will rip you apart at the seams. The author has expertly developed this complex character in such a way that I couldn’t help but see into his soul and want to save him. This is a fast-paced novel that I was unable to put down and I truly believe this author has done this character and his story justice.
Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Trope: heroine in peril Angst: 😱😱😱 Smexy: 🔥🔥1\2
Just like the name implies, Devoured by Demons is a dark twisted tale about revenge and rebirth after trauma. This is not a book for people with many triggers. I didn't feel like I could give it 5 stars for a couple of reasons. One, it is truly just a story of revenge. There isn't much by way of relationship development or character growth, making me feel disconnected from the MCs despite feeling for them because of their horrible trauma. Two, I felt like the story was much too short to cover the super heavy topics that it covered.
This book was worth the wait! Zain didn’t have the easiest of a childhood, and he did everything to protect his little sister, Sara, but tragically she still didn’t make it. Now he is known as Demon and is part of the Heaven’s Guardians MC. All he has is vengeance on his mind, against those who took his sister away from him. Isadora is the daughter of the cartel leader, who had a hand in what happened to Sara. All she wants to do is be free of her family, but she is stuck. Can these two be free of the demons that are stalking them?
5🌟 although this was a tough read and my emotions were all over the place. The storyline was hard to read at times but needed to be to convey what Demon was going through. A truly well written book and a great conclusion to the series.
Ah finally to finish the series and get my happy ending for demon has really made me happy, The last book focused a lot more on the paranormal side and I can see why it took so long for this book to be completed It’s raw it’s horrific and it’s emotional
And honestly makes you wanna beat up a whole cartel too
BEST book this year so far I had to go back adjust my ratings on previous books in the series because this one is that much better. Might have found another top five author right here
This-🫠😪 “Demon…” Priest’s voice was hollow, and the way he uttered my name, the tremor in that single word, would stay with me. Haunt me in ways I never imagined possible. “She’s gone.” In the darkest, deepest recesses of my soul, those words were branded into my very being. She’s gone. She’s gone. She’s… Gone.”
There’s heaps of action and the story moves at fast pace and isn’t bogged down by useless details or boring scenes. Out of the HG gang Demon was always my fave I have a soft spot for the broken men
I NEED MORE OF LIAM PLS
“Liam’s job as a private investigator is no secret. But his ways of obtaining information aren’t exactly legal, and often head into dangerous, if not criminal territory. Like me, he has no problem disposing of filth, although his tactics—from the rumors I’ve heard—are a hell of a lot more ruthless and bloodier than the Heaven’s Guardians would ever go.”
AND DIEGO
DIEGO *no spoilers* but gahhhhh!!! What the hell?! “THAT SCENE” I was not expecting it. SO BLOODY GOOD Lemme just say Lane has gone away and done some writing classes or matured or something because the writing is so good this time around.
I loved that Sara and the Angel of death Azreal are there as ghosts but would have been better if they acted and looked more ghostly. Still loved how Sara tried to save her brother all the way through even when he refused to listen-little sisters can be annoying haha Demons/Zains flashbacks are all so sad 😞 seeing their life before Sara was taken.
A few things stood out that didn’t work well for me- The cartel’s human trafficking felt a bit unrealistic. The scenes with the girls weren’t detailed or dark enough. I love a dark book-the darker the better and the Demonio de helio were too gentle for how Manuel is described. I felt the same with the torture of Lorenzo and Manuel. There are TWs but I wanted more of the promised violence and torture 😬🤤
All in all I loved the pacing of the story and Demon’s pain and anger about his sister’s death.
The relationship between Isadora and Demon was super soft and sweet but I didn’t feel they were In love at the end so maybe it’s a HFN? Hoping for more of their story in the future.
THE BONUS SCENE OMG Liam was the best-im so intrigued to know more about him-finding out he has a story by one of my all time favourite authors is the icing the cake
I wish I could give it more stars...but the pain and suffering the fmc was put through didn't even register in her character once saved. Her part was rushed and from then the story felt wrong not true to how the other books where written and how you felt the pain from both fmc and mmc. This was definitely just demons story but the romance part for him I felt just fell flat.
I loved his crazy bit felt like his sister and the angel of death speaking to him needed more flesh and I wanted to learn more of why these men saw the angel of death.
These books and a great quick read and I did love them all but felt like each book could of used 200 pages more.
However good read if your looking for a quick darkish romancey story
I really liked this series and was so excited for this book to come out. I was adamant on it going to be the best book in the series but I was really disappointed. It moved way too fast and I didn’t feel any emotions in the entire book. Like everything felt so rushed it was like I was watching a sad movie in 3x speed and not retaining any information. Also him getting shot at the end and then having no emotion to watching him die like that’s supposed to be the best part in books. But the literal next page he’s alive and well and it makes me feel like he didn’t even get hurt even though he got shot in the chest. Also the first scene they are together felt so horrible like it also didn’t make sense at all why the brother didn’t help the sister like everyone in this book was just a monster

This book had so much more potential… Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed reading it and would give it a 6.5/10 but maybe my expectations were just to high, I have the feeling that everything was just moving to fast. Like you couldn’t even form a opinion on the relationship between Zain and Isa bcs they just had so little time together in this book, and as you kind of started to form the opinion the book was over. I would have liked to read just a bit about the relationship from these two and how they handled each other’s trauma. But over all I really enjoyed it and would recommend reading this series.
We waited so long we for this book and it’s only 187 pages. I was so sad reading this, It just seemed so rushed and we didn’t get many details. He was so mysterious in the other books and he seemed so complicated. Just for one person to fix him in less than 24 hours it seemed like. Meh, sad
I'll start by saying that I skipped Isadora's points of view. They are insignificant and boring like the character. In contrast, I will read another 200 pages of Damon alone. This book is much more about love between siblings than a romance, I loved the flashbacks between him and Sara and I would have liked it to have shown more, what their childhood was like and how they grew up. I think it passed very quickly between ages and the way Sara's death was announced and shown was very disappointing. The book is about them and that's why I think Isadora came in just as a pawn for an end. It's hard to believe that Demon is suddenly in love and even less that a victim of multiple sexual abuse will be so willing to have sex (of her own free will) with the first man she thinks is "different". Please, fiction only goes so far. I'll be honest, I don't think this ending has any credibility. I know this is a romance (or it was supposed to be) but I see Demon's future with only 2 options: him dying and finally at peace by getting together with his sister or if it's really the romance we need I don't see him having children. I see him not being able to have children. I can't see him being a father, it's as if his destiny had something to say to him, as if it made him learn from the past and how many times he must have wished he hadn't been born. Isadora pregnant at the end is just random and makes you think "where did that come from?" "we need a happy ending: take a baby". She suffered abuse her whole life and the way to heal the character was to show her having sex and having a baby???? I gave it 3 stars because I liked following Demon and Sara and nothing else.
Book 1: 5 ⭐ Book 2: 4⭐ Book 3: 3⭐ Book 4: 3,5⭐

Honestly, the only reason I finished this book was because I wanted to give it a fair shot since I had read the other four books. Now none of the books by Ashley Lane in this series were incredible or something I would truly crave to read again. However, I still do tend to enjoy reading a storyline from a series. This book was just lazy and poorly done. First off, a good chunk of this book was with Demon, talking with his dead sister and Azriel BUT when he goes into the house to attack the cartel they are literally never mentioned again. There’s no closure, there’s no recognition that he’s not seeing these ghosts anymore. It’s just so odd that they made such a big part of this book was him seeing ghosts and then totally forget that that was a big part of his personality and forget to mention them again. Secondly, this love story between them was within a span of a few days. It didn’t make sense. It wasn’t well written. It was just pathetic. Like they wouldn’t have time to even fall in love because they were on the run the entire time and she had been a victim of rape for the whole book.
Lastly, and the biggest reason why my rating is one star versus the two stars that I was originally going to give it. Before the ending chapter, he is literally shot and there is nothing that talks about it afterwards. It’s like a cliffhanger that doesn’t need a cliffhanger because it just pretends it never happened. I’m so disappointed in this book; I am so disappointed for anyone else who had to read this book; I am just so disappointed that this book was even written because of how poorly it was done. What a horrible way to end the series was such a horribly written book.
I love all the books in this series. The guys and their family the bond they have is amazing and of healing through each others pain. Even though Bullets book was my favorite Demons comes second. I couldn't wait to read his story, i already knew why he was like he was but finally see him with Isadora and to see she was exactly what he needed to help him heal and see why he needed to live why he deserved to have a family and be happy because not only did he deserve it but that's what Sara would have wanted for him. What Isadora went through and not want to take her own life shows how strong she really is and didn't even know it . Happy she got her happy ending. The only thing i didn't like was that scene after he bought her but understood why it was written in. Other then that great book and ending to the series. I love all the books in this series. Demon is finally telling his story. His story of pain, loss, misery, anger, hatred, vengeance, death, and…love. As brutal as this one is, it’s got hope. Some people can’t be destroyed by their captors. Sometimes, they fight back in their own ways. And sometimes, they let the fires of anger and loss eat them alive. The question is which path Demon is going to take. Isadora has a choice also, but she still has some hope for peace, be it in life or death. But Demon? He’s pretty sure his option is one way, and one way only.
I’m struggling to find a way to explain this one without spoiling it, so I’ll just say that you absolutely need this book. You need to know how Demon finds his peace. How shadows win or lose. And how one woman helps to change some courses once thought set in stone to bring down a true devil who has made her life just as miserable as Demon’s has been. You’ll wonder how Isadora keeps some hope, or how Demon can insist on the choices that sever bonds. But then you’ll also understand every step he’s taken, as well as those taken by the men who love him like a brother.
Heed the trigger warnings. Read the other books before this one because you’ll want to truly understand that which drives Demon. But also remember that just because it’s not conventional or sunshine and light, that doesn’t mean it isn’t exactly the story Demon needed to share so he can be free.
The final book in the Heaven's Guardian's MC did not disappoint. Demon is such a haunted character, who used the club's mission to hide from his own turmoil. I can only imagine how hard the author worked to bring his story to light. It was fantastic. Please read the entire series otherwise you might misunderstand some of the interactions. Demon's story brought everything I expected and more. Horror, abuse, tragedy, pain, suffering and ultimately the quest for salvation. Demon has always wished to exorcise himself of his pain and his failures. His story was very moving. The Guardians' compassion to their pain plagued brother was everything. I love these complicated men. Great story but definitely read the trigger warnings. I took awhile to digest this story and write this review. I wanted to reflect on the words, on the plot, on the author's character development. She not only met this Herculaneum task, she bested her own demons triumphantly to bring us a wonderful story. Bravo my lady.
I received an advanced copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.
Zain aka Demon didn’t grow up in a safe place but he did everything he could for his sister Sara. She may not of made it still but she still lives in his mind until He can seek vengeance. Now, a member of the Heaven’s Guardians MC he is a ruthless but broken man. Isadora is the daughter of the cartel leader that was involved with what happened to Sara. She is stuck to do whatever he deems fit but all she wants is to be free. Can these two find a way to rid themselves of the demons chasing them both and be redeemed? I will say this is not the easiest to read as it does delve into many very difficult topics however, I still could not put this down. Please check out the TW’s as this is a very dark and emotional MC book including non-con amongst other situations. My heart broke for not only Zain but Isadora too. Go back to this group of bikers who are always there for each other. Told in first person and dual POV.
I can’t begin to explain how disappointed I am in the turn this series took with this final book. We’ve been dealing with such tough subjects throughout but there was clearly some censorship to that until now and Demon in my opinion is just as bad as some of the villains in this book
Yes books should handle heavy topics but some of these scenes were very much overkill, especially after the censorship from the other books.
Outside of that, the pace of this book was bad. We wrap things up so quickly and without an actual true resolution. She mourns her brother even though he willingly allowed her to be r*ped and sold and returned her to her father after she tried to run instead of letting her go; sounds like someone who deserves to be mourned right?
This book also felt incredibly similar to another mc book I read and looking back the entire series reminds me
Devoured by Demons Just finished and all I can say is Wow. This book was worth the wait. Been waiting for Demon for 3 years and it was awesome to finally get his story. This book was a little dark but with a title like this you can’t expect anything else. The dark doesn’t take away from the story, it just adds to the characters. It was fast paced and page turning. I think the only disappointment was there wasn’t as much interaction or glimpses of the other Guardians but they way the last book ended that was kind of to be expected. If you haven’t read the rest of the series I highly recommend all these books they are all good with a cool twist.
I wasn’t sure what Demon’s revenge would look like, as in who would he take down in his quest for revenge against Manuel. I wasn’t sure about him seeing Sara and Azrael as I’m not the biggest fan of paranormal books but it wasn’t too bad. I did have a feeling of who his love would be from book one though just with how he reacted and they were good together. I would have liked his revenge on his sinner to last longer alongside Juan as he should have had a sinners death also. I didn’t expect what happened with Diego though. Good storyline throughout the series and so pleased when we keep seeing all of the brothers come together.
This was beautifully written. Demon's story is so tragic and heartbreaking. Isadora lives with fear and pain every day. These two have been through hell, and who knows what's going to happen to them. Well I do but I'm not going to tell you. Read the book it was absolutely worth the wait. Demon has always been my favorite, and I'm so glad he finally got the peace he wanted. Oops, I didn't mean to say that. Hmmm, now you'll really have to read this to find out what happens. You won't be disappointed. Thank you, Ashley Lane, for giving us Demon's story. Can't wait for more of your stories.
I feel like I have waited forever for this book but boy it was worth the wait and a great end to the series (which I highly suggest you read before Demons book) We have seen Demons tortured soul in the other books in the series in this book we discover there true depth Isa is another torched soul and the daughter of the very man demon is seeking his vengeance. This is not a warm and fuzzy romance it is dark take note of the trigger warnings. This book was all I hoped for and the ending was perfect
Ashley outdid herself with Demon's book. It may have been years in the making but so worth it. Demon has been in a self made purgatory since his sister was murdered. He has completely pulled away from his MC. He thinks he has to take down the cartel by himself. When he goes to one of the cartel auctions and sees the daughter of the leader up on the block, he buys her to use her Intel of how to get close enough to destroy the cartel. He never imagines himself falling in love with Isa.
darkest of the series boarding psychotic I loved it!
This is the last of the series and by far the darkest and most psychologically off the wall, and I loved it! I feel like I saw it coming as you see this character throughout the series and he’s the least sane of all of them from the jump. This was fast paced and definitely needs to be read in series order. I was slightly disappointed with how fast it ended because I wanted more and the last two books had me feeling this same way, but overall great dark romance read. I was sad to see the series end, but love that I read it
This was the perfect ending for Zain aka Demon. While he did get a HEA with his woman his book wasn’t focused so much on the relationship like the previous four books. This is because Demon’s intense need for revenge for his sister was the main attraction and it was fitting. I already loved the tortured soul that was Demon in the other books and his book made me love him more. I’m excited to read more about Liam in Julie Anne Addicott series.
I’ve been waiting so long to read Demon’s story, and it was so worth the wait!
I knew this book was going to pull out all the emotions. It still didn’t prepare me for everything that happens in this story. It was one wild ride! Definitely not for the faint hearted.
Demon has waited years for his revenge. Now it’s time to get it. Will he survive what he is facing?
Love this series and will definitely be doing a re-read of all books soon.
I found Heaven's Guardians a couple years ago and have been waiting for this final book for awhile. I understand why Ashley Lane needed to take a break and collect herself. I won't lie, I wish this wasn't the end, but for the author's peace I understand. I knew this book would break me, but it also put me back together. I will definitely be buying the whole series once this book is in print.
I have waited for so long for this book and it definitely did not disappoint! Zain/Demon was so damaged and beyond repair, or so he thought, but he still had a sort of self determination and worth buried deep in side. If it wasn’t for his vendetta against the cartel he would have never found the other half of his soul. This truly brought Demon’s tragic past and beautiful future together so well and gave us the ending we all deserve. Fantastic!
