Tender little book that touched me. A long interesting and unusual life well lived with great anecdotes and singular voice. Again another layer for me to understand what shit we (colonisers) have dished up to the Indigenous people of this land and how so many have powerfully and graciously stepped past it. What a lovely man this Vince was, pleasure to meet him in the pages of this book. Also the timeline at the end is a cracker!
This was a GREAT book. Vince tells his inspiring story humbly, with no blame for the racism, and the hurdles he faced. Maybe he should have; it’s so unfair. As well as being a great personal story, it’s a great history of the Aboriginal Rights Movement told from an indigenous perspective for a change. It’s a very easy to read / listen to book. I really recommend this beautiful book!!!
