Celine is the Alpha of the Moon Blood pack, one of the few female Alphas in existence. She has it all, strong allies, a supportive family, great friends and a pack that would do anything for her… She has everything but love, since her mate acts like she doesn’t exist. To deal with her heartache she buries herself in her work, trying to mend her broken heart. To prove her worth, she tries everything in her power to strengthen her pack and to help those who need her, such as Valerie, a weak teenage girl without the ability to shift... and the sister of the pack's traitor.
Marius is a royal Lycan and the second oldest son to the most powerful Alpha in existence. He is used to being in the shadow of his perfect older brother but doesn’t mind as no one spares him a second glance, allowing him to keep his dark secret hidden. Marius is quite content on his own and never wanted a mate… especially not an Alpha she-wolf! Celine cannot be a part of his future and he must fight the mate bond to protect himself.
When a lingering threat threatens the very existence of Celine’s pack, she will need all the willpower, strength and allies she can muster to uncover the mysteries surrounding herself and her pack. These so-called mates have no choice but to work with each other.
Will they continue down his current path of loneliness, misery and self-destruction or accept each other and find happiness? Likewise, will Valerie find out who she truly is and learn to stand up for herself in the face of the danger that always entangles her?
Overall, I loved the book and rated it 5 stars, but I had a few issues with it.
First, there was far more Valerie in the story than I had any interest in. I was waiting to see how her story would connect to Marius and Celine's but couldn't find any significant link, so I started to skip through those parts. It felt like Marius and Celine's story wasn't enough to fill all the pages, which is not true. I hope Val's story will be important in other books I haven’t read yet.
Second, Marius's story is actually very important because of the theme it explores, yet in the book, it felt like just a side plot. I think this is a missed opportunity. There is no explanation for his behavior at the beginning of the book, only justification. I see this as a lost opportunity considering the number of pages that Val and Eric spent in the book. There are many unanswered questions about him. For example, why is he trained as a warrior at the start, but by the end, he seems unskilled in combat (and I'm not talking about him being weak for battling the mate bond)? What is his true gift? Does he possess more abilities? As the Royal Lykan alpha, he should have several—what are they? What about his painting? Celine was in his apartment but didn't ask about any of his work that should have been there. Did he remove it as part of his healing, or was she so self-absorbed that she didn't notice?
Third, I was not fond of how the dynamic was portrayed between Celine and Marius at the end. It felt as though Marius was portrayed as the woman and Celine as the man, despite her being a woman in power and him being her supportive partner. It made him seem weak, which felt wrong because for one he is a Royal Lykan and alpha.. and personally I loved his quirky personality. He had valid reasons for not acting on their mate bond, and it seems unnecessary for him to suffer for more than 300 pages cos he needed time to get through these things. Also, I believe that Celine didn’t make much effort to understand him until his past was revealed.
Lastly, regarding Liam and Annie's twin daughters: I understand the trend toward powerful heroines, but what’s wrong with strong male characters? I won’t delve into the problematic aspects of half the characters suddenly being bisexual or gay. Why can’t we have new characters introduced, like Jazz (whom I love), who are already established as gay instead of having existing characters change their orientations? It disrupts the flow of the series.
Anyway, these are my thoughts on the book, so please don't take it too harshly. The book is amazing and well worth reading. Any book that can provoke thought and foster conversations about its themes deserves recognition.
Much love to all.

This is Book 2 in the SilverLake Wolves Series, however you can easily read this as a stand-alone, if you want a deeper background on side characters, I’d recommend, Book 1: An Omega for The Lycan Prince.
A slow burn story between fated mates, MMC Marius will annoy you at first (his background will break you, was beautiful & carefully written by author) and then have you cheering on his character growth.
With an all star superpower female cast: Val, Jazz, Celina, Jade and female Betas 🤍just to name a few (I don’t want to spoil their powers, trust you’ll be cheering them on). This book will take you an adventure, with many side characters you’ll feel you’re getting more than just one great book!
Celine & Marius have to work through their troubled & traumatic past to have a chance at a future together. You’ll be wooed by characters like Prince Eric (one of my favs) and his many “Princesses names” he likes to give, to crying over emotional scenes, this book has it all, family, love, loyalty, forgiveness and surprises & twists that will keep you wanted more.
I literally went straight from reading the first book in the series to this book, I also read this one all in one day. Could not put it down. I loved how different the love story of the two main characters was in this story to the first one, that it wasn't a repeat. It was fun to be able to still read about the many characters from the first book that we fell in love with while also falling in love with new characters as well. The tone of this book was very different then the first one and stands out on it's own. I love both books in very different ways. This book was sadder and really broke my heart at times, I actually cried at one point. One of the common traits of both books is that I feel like the author is trying to bring up important issues that we struggle with in the real world. This may be a fantasy world, but the issues are very real. I can't wait to read hopefully many more books in this series in the future!
A second in a series. After beta-reading the first book, I got a beta copy of this one to beta read as well. This book is very different from the first as the both leads are very different. In contrast to Annie's sweetness and naiveté, and Liam's "perfect alpha" personality from "an omega for the lycan prince", in this book Celine is confident and stoic, while Marius is - at the beginning, mean and disrespectful to everyone. Since I hate such behavior I had a hard time at first, but Isi managed to write his redemption arc competently in a believable way. I LOVED Celine's strength through everything, and her willingness to give Marius another chance. Though honestly, I think he should have groveled more! 😝 The plot was interesting and fun to read, and the characters great. It was also fun to meet the gang from the priviuos book. I enjoyed this book a lot 💜 and went straight to beta read the third book, and soon the forth 😊
AWESOME READ!!!! This is the second book in this series, and I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!(Can Not wait to read the next one and the rest of this series)!! This author draws you in and makes you feel as if you are part of the book!! I found myself daydreaming about the book, and it’s entire community. The writing is so fabulous, you can not help but fall in love with each and every character!! It allows you an escape to a world you will wish to be part of!! Never a dull moment, keeps you on your toes and dying to find time to read!! This book is a MUST READ!! I promise it’s one you will be glad you did!!!
I going to be honest. After loving the first book, this second on was dragging a bit. It was still good and the storyline was great but a lot of Marius thoughts were a bit to repetitive. I understand that there was a lot of trauma involved but, it was a bit to much. The book felt a lot longer than the first one and to be honest, i had to put it down quite often and actually had to push myself to finish it. Now with this being said, I did like the book overall and the story was good. I is definitely worth to read it but it falls a bit short compared to the first book.
I love this book! It was well written and the plot kept you wanting to read more and more. I could not put this book down and was eager for more. I came to care for the characters and want what was best for them. The plot was well written and the characters are well developed. I greatly enjoyed getting to learn more about these characters and the things that made the who they are and the challenges they faced. They are all so unique and the world she has created is one I hope to continue to come back to for years to come. I look forward to the next books from this author!
I enjoyed this but not as much as the first book. It felt like so much was going on and that we were getting 3 couples stories. The main couple was Celine and Marius but we were still getting others POV as well. I would have rather just read about them but I understand how it all went together. I think this author wrote trauma and how people can deal with it well. I did like Marius once he got through his past. He was funny and I found myself loving the ending of this book.
A book I couldnt wait to read, Isa’s second book brings us back into the lives of the Silverlake wolves and dives deeper in Marius and Celine’s story. The book is beautiful, it show’s us Celine’s strength and how far she will go for love. Finished the book in 4 1/2 hours, I couldnt put it down. I laughed, I cried and yelled quite a bit on Marius’s behalf! Isa has a magical writting style that makes you feel like you are part of the story and you never want to leave the world she has created.
This book has all the ingredients to pull you in and keep you hooked!!! Can't help loving the characters. Very positive writing. Explores the complexities of a person beyong what the person shows on the surface. Celine & Marius 😍. Isa wrote Valerie's POV in a really brilliant way, clearly showing her grow up progressively from a scared and very insecure little girl to an excellent and strong woman. Lengthy book, well worth the reading and purchase!
This was great book!! Throughout the story there were intense moment, moments that would make you laugh or sad, but they were all written gently for any reader to be able to read and enjoy. Everything from the way Isa Rinner identified and described the characters of Celine and Marius drew me in!! I loved how much of an alpha Celine was!! The side characters and stories were a hit as well and I hope Isa continues to do those! So excited to see where this series continues to go!!
Okay the first book got me hooked and I finish 2 books in 1 week, mind you, I work in healthcare so I really don't have the time to read so I sacrifice so much sleep just to finish these 2 books. Really interesting story line and I love how much the characters grew, overcoming their own trauma. Absolutely love that it has a HEA and how they are breaking traditional views of Luna, Beta etc. Also, can I please request for a next book about Dave!
Celine a female Alpha is mated to someone who rejects her at every turn and the worst part is no one knows. Marius the second oldest of his siblings is having trouble keeping it together when traumas from his past won't leave, and he hasn't shared with anyone what is causing him to behave the way he does. Trouble in Celine's pack also causes more questions to arise and new discoveries. This is my favorite of the series this far, it's a heart wrencher but definitely has a happy ending.
Wow Isa Rinner has done it again. Like the first book this is so unparalleled to any other warewolf book series. I love how you empower the women without making the Men weak. I was truly touched by the subject you touched on here. Reality is not only women are victims of abuse and this book really provides a real life understanding of what males go through due to the shame of being called weak. 10 stars to this book. Cant wait to continue with the next
Okay so as someone who LOVES the smutty parts, this book was a little harder to get through as most of the smut is towards the later parts. Also it’s at least 3 POVs and I’m more of a max 2 POV kind of person.
But! Other than that, this book was amazing! The main characters definitely go through hell and back to say the least.
Please tread carefully if you have SA triggers!!
The smut you do get and the HEA definitely make up for the tears it made me cry lol
Celine is the mate of Marius, but he refuses to accept her. Marius is troubled and pushes everyone away. His refusal to be mated to Celine causes his wolf to be in conflict with him.
There are multiple relationships occurring in the novel. It is not a stand-alone book as it builds on the previous book. I enjoyed the story and rated it 4 stars. I hope the series will continue.
Beware there is rape and it’s only slightly off page.
I hope I missed the trigger warning but I want you to be aware. There is SA, Rape of a minor, domestic violence, date rape drugs etc. It was definitely an emotional read, that said it’s in the same world as the first book but completely different. It’s an amazing book and even at 600+ pages, it’s worth it! I stayed up most of the night to read it!
I don't want to give away a big plot of this book, but I can tell you, I cried. It was painful and a bit triggering, but I think it's a topic that needs to be brought up and remembered. Yeah... I'm not going to say anything else. This was a great continuation and furthering of the characters you loved so much in the first book. It's so wonderful to keep learning about their lives. It's long, but never, never boring! I'm on to book 3!
Oh this book like the others gives a paranormal view on real life things that happen in the real world. This one Takes you for a doozy. Celine is the alpha’s daughter that thinks she is not good enough to take over and Marius is the Lycan prince that thinks he doesn’t deserve a mate. This is their story that will break your heart and put it back together and shows you that family does come through when you least expect it.

Another great story from this talented author. This story really tugs at your heart because it touches on the sensitive issue of sexual child abuse. I don’t want to give too much away but this book grabs you with emotional drama, violence, betrayal, family, loyalty and healing all rolled into a story you can’t put down. Loved the supporting characters and their stories. So definitely read this story and experience for yourself this great book. Enjoy!
Complete fell inlove with this book. Experienced so many different emotions throughout this story. I like the fact that certain taboo aspects are highlighted in this novel opening the eyes of the reader. There's heartache, extreme happiness but most of all that shone through was the bond between loved ones. It spoke to me in many ways and I'd like to thank Isi for that.
This book is amazing! Isa is such a talented writer leaving me hooked. I absolutely had to keep reading. The plots are amazing and kept me on my toes never knowing what was coming next. I love the relationship that develops with Celine and mari. I could read this a thousand times and I'd never get bored!
I am in love with this series. Mari and Celine draw you in and hold onto you until the end. This book brings out all of the emotions, mostly towards one of the main characters, but the ride is amazing. Written in a way that you understand the characters and are able to feel for them. Definitely a good read.
I absolutely love this story. I am an absolute sucker for a strong female lead. Celine is able to prioritize pack business over her issues with her mate. Marius is a charter that we are able to see grow. You go from wanting to backhand him to loving him by the end of the story. There is so much in this story to unpack and it leaves you on the edge of you seat.
Love this series. This book in particular was written with a victim coming forward and handled very well. Sometimes in books, they gloss over childhood abuse or force the character to "get over it" quickly. This was done realistically, with the support of family and friends. Therapy was given as well.

I just loved this story. & As usual like the Book 1, my favourite character is Alpha Elden. He still holds rank no.-1.☺️ 2nd will be Eric.❤️ Although the thriller part is comparatively less than book 1, but still I enjoyed Celine & Marius's story. I can't wait to read Finn's story now.
Loved Mariuas and Celine's story. Got me emotional at times. Such a switch to the roles of Luna and alpha. Loved that they made through ok. Can't wait for Finn and Dave's story (hopefully there's a book 3). Isa is a great writer. Looking forward to her future work.
Wow The twists and turns and budding relationships and who doesn’t love a strong female alpha I just love how everything wasn’t straightforward and that people had to work to make their relationships work. Isa is a great author and I cant wait to read the next book and the books to come!
I loved Celine since book 1 of the Silverlake series but this book dug deeper into her story. Her character was so strong and patient especially being mated to Marius. And Marius... well you'll hate that you'll love him! So many layers to the Lycan you'd think he really was an onion. I loved their story so much!

I didn't like Celine all that much in this book. Marius was its saving grace, tho. I kept feeling he deserved better. Everyone expected more of Marius the Celine even after all the shit he went through. Celine's attempts at conversations were just bad before she pushed him away due to pride. He needed and deserved to have someone dote on him after what happened to him.
