Operation Escape

Rate this book
A forced bond, an undeniable attraction, and a planet full of prisoners who want them dead. Sera Kain has a mission, one she can't complete with a pilot. Using her background as a logistics and data controller, she's found the one man that might be willing to help her find her missing uncle with a little incentive. Markus Engle resigned from military life to escape the destruction left by human expansion through the universe. He wants only a life of leisure and enjoyment on the pleasure planet of Kafgar. When Sera walks through the door of his business everything changes because he can't tell her no. Not when her scent activates the military DNA modifications that make denying her impossible. It's a simple rescue mission on the prison planet, Earth, with Sera guiding the way. Only the snatch-n-save turns into an ambush and the pair find themselves trapped without a ship and no way out. To escape alliances will need to be formed and bargains made with the worst Space Force has encountered. For Markus and Sera, their future is fated, but making it off Earth alive to enjoy it will be damn near impossible.

Author note: This is a sci-fi fated mates romance featuring a pansexual hero, a fish-out-of-water heroine, and a ragtag crew of humanoid aliens and science experiments.

Operation Escape is the second book in the Space Force Rejects series. It is a unique and original sci-fi tale with fated mate’s trope. Make sure to read the first book in the series and the characters are intertwined.
This adventure story has a bit of everything that lovers of sci fi will enjoy. With experiments, altered DNA, tested loyalties, forced bonds, new alliances, lies and secrets you will not know who to trust and much more.
The characters are an interesting mob with a pansexual hero, a heroine who is a little naïve and out of her depth, and a ragtag crew of humanoid aliens and science experiments. It is easy to imagine this journey with these lovable quirky characters that Landra gave life to.
What should have been a simple mission leaves Sera and Markus fighting for their lives on an unknown and hostile planet.
This new world is full of action, danger, adventure with a little push and pull romance and is a story that should not be missed.
If you enjoy this sci fi or even if you don’t, give it a go.

This is the second book I have read by the talented Landra Graf, the first being Operation Pinpoint which is the first book in the Space Force Rejects series. At first, I was slightly disappointed that this book didn’t pick up where the first one left off as it was a cliffhanger, but I quickly swallowed those words as the world became more complex. Told from two perspectives once again you get a bigger understanding of the original plot of book one and learn more about the Space Force and how terrible they are. Book one does not have to be read to understand this book.
Sera is the daughter of the head of the Space Force, but she was deemed a failure by him due to her small size and he ordered her the termination of her. Uncle Garsett (Dr. Garsett in the first book) is the person who saved her and raised her. He was the only person to believe in her and now three months after his disappearance she finally can search for him herself. Markus Engle, once Captain in the Space Force Special Ops, and a talented pilot is the only person that she can trust now. While raising her, her uncle told her repeatedly that in case of an emergency to find Captain Markus Engle he can help and will protect you. Blindsiding him, Markus is obligated to help her, if he refuses the bond her uncle forced on him will cause him physical pain. During their mission, they both constantly fight the bond that he knows about, but she is clueless as to what is happening to her and why she has such an intense magnetic pull to this man she has just met. Quickly her carefully planned mission is flipped on its head when her informant steals their ship and leaves her and Markus stranded on Earth, the prison planet with no way to escape. With the help of Paavo (Hirudian), Cy (Levian) and Haylee (splice, human robot hybrid), Markus has no choice but to try and give trust before it is earned to ensure that Sera survives and makes it off the prison planet alive.
How can Sera be such a menace and yet so innocent and naïve? Can all five of them trust each other to make it off the planet alive? Is this bond truly pheromones only or is it deeper, is it more? The world the author created in the first book is filled in more with this book, leading to more adventures and deeper bonds formed over time. Nothing is given, everything must be earned. Reading about the characters overcoming the obstacles placed in their way while growing closer makes you route for them from start to finish. I cannot wait for book three to learn more about this amazing world and characters.

Operation Escape is Book Two in the Space Force Rejects series. The characters intertwine with the first book in the series but could be possibly read as a standalone. This book is told in two different perspectives and elaborates on the world of the Space Force. This book tells the story of Sera, who is the daughter of the head of the space force. Considered to be a failure by him due to her small size she was ordered to be terminated. Thankfully, Sera was rescued by her Uncle Garsett who then raised her and helped her to believe in herself.

Uncle Garsett has been missing for three months and Sera needs to find him and rescue him. She trusts few people, other than pilot Markus Engle who used to be Captain in the Space Force Special Ops. Sera’s uncle told her repeatedly that she could trust Markus and that if she ever needed help that he would be the one to ask. Markus has no choice but to help Sera because physical pain will be inflicted on him if he does not help. Sera asks Markus to fly her to Earth where all Space Force prisoners are forced to serve their sentence. The last person to see her uncle was an ex-commando who is on Earth and Sera wants to talk to him.

Sera and Markus are at odds through the mission and fight constantly, yet Sera feels attracted to Markus. When their ship is stolen, and Sera and Markus are left stranded their mission comes to a grinding halt. They are stranded on Earth with no protection against animals and violent criminals. When they receive an offer of help, they have to choose whether or not to accept it. If they do not accept the help they will not survive.

This book was a wonderfully written sci-fi adventure with action, adventure, mystery, drama, intrigue, suspense, and a bit of romance. The characters were intriguing, especially Sera who seemed to be a bit of an unlikely heroine because she was naïve and inexperienced as far as rescue missions go. Things got heated between her and Markus as they fought about the mission yet there seemed to be an underlying attraction. Markus feels the desire to protect Sera even if it means risking his life to do so. Another great book in this series by this talented author.

Sera Kain is a young woman who works for the Space Force in an administrative position and she retains knowledge and facts like others do faces and names, but when she finds out that her uncle is missing, she is determined to use all of the knowledge available at her fingertips to find him. Markus Engle is trying to leave his life in the Space Force behind him and was doing very well doing just that on Kafgar, the planet where pleasure is the first port of call, however, when Sera walks into his office and disturbs his afternoon, something which he hoped would never happen does.

Sera has no idea what she has just walked into, apart from that she is interrupting something, so as soon as she knows that she has found the pilot she needs, she leaves until a more convenient time to propose a mission to which he is the key, but Markus has a problem, thanks to some past genetic engineering, he finds that he can’t refuse Sera anything, but he intends to keep the reason why to himself. As Sera outlines her plans and makes sure that it is clear to Markus that he is going to be flying them to the prison planet of Earth, once the heart of the human empire so that she can rescue two inmates who will lead her to her uncle.

As they approach the planet, things start to go awry, but it isn’t until they land, are ambushed and their ship stolen that Sera realises that she may have bitten off more than she can chew and her lack of experience is showing, but she is still determined to find a way off the planet and to her uncle. Along with finding a way off of the planet, Markus and Sera will have to find a way to avoid the rest of the inmates living there, so she attempts to create alliances with some of the humanoid creatures there, but she is also trying to fight the attraction she feels towards Markus, it turns out that he is doing the same. Will these two fated mates be able to embrace their attraction to each other, leave Earth and find Sera’s uncle, or will the inmates, or wildlife get to them first? In this fast paced sci-fi romance, danger lies around every turn and not just the physical kind as this unlikely pair face adversity in order to discover their strengths in this enticing story.

There's Always A Choice

A SciFi Romance story about Choices. Both Sara and. Markus had their choices taken by her Uncle who was a Scientist of Space Force who always performed "Experiments" for research purposes.

Sera is a Communications and Provisions Specialist with Space Force who is on a mission to find her uncle who is currently missing. Sera is somewhat naíve and trusting. With her father as the Head of Space Force she automatically assumes everything is on the up and up. Being so trusting she never thought about the injections her uncle gave her when she was younger. Not knowing that her uncle was altering her DNA so that she and her mate would find each other.

Markus knew of the injections he agreed to at a young age. Injections that would lead him to someone of importance to protect. He never imagined that that injection he agreed to accept was going to alter his DNA to where his protective instincts would be activated as soon as he caught his mate's scent. Markus is hardwired to protect Sera at all costs but nobody prepared him for the intense attraction and connection he feels for her.

A simple rescue mission turns into an ambush of prisoners who want Sera and Markus d3ad. Left stranded on a hostile planet Sera and Markus to fight to stay alive so they can escape. Unfortunately in order to escape, alliances will need to be formed and bargains made with the worst Space Force has encountered.

Loyalties are tested, bonds are forged and new alliances are formed. Sera and Markus understands that their bond was forced but after everything they've been through they realize that the choice to solidify the bond and remain Fated is solely their decision.

No Cliffhanger and ends with a HEA

The second book of the Space Force Rejects absolutely delivers! I loved Operation Pinpoint (book 1) and Dravos and Ravenna, but Markus and Sera are definitely as hot of a couple.

Operation Escape follows Sera's mission to locate her missing uncle, Dr. Garsett, who made an appearance in book one. As the daughter of the head of Space Force, she's been relegated to desk duty, but she ventures off the mothership for the first time to seek out a certain pilot: Captain Markus Engle. It turns out that Markus has a connection to Garsett as well, so he agrees to help her, keeping his reasons to himself.

There is a fair bit of insta-love/fated mates in this but not in the way that it usually comes about. I loved the push and pull between Markus and Sera, and the ways they gave in to one another while simultaneously questioning everything about the burgeoning bond between them. The cast of characters in this one also shows off Graf's worldbuilding chops. Not only are we introduced to a new alien species, we also learn about the ways that humans have exploited their own kind. One of the biggest themes of this series is a challenge of human excellence by showing the myriad of ways humans have used and discarded their own kind along with alien species. It shows the callousness of experimentation reminiscent of MK Ultra and the way it affects people long-term. While it isn't preachy, that thread is most definitely an undercurrent of the series, and I'm excited to see how book 3 progresses, especially in regards to new character Haylee, a "splice" of human and machine who was subjected to a lot of awful abuse in her creation and her subsequent imprisonment on Earth.

Seriously, don't sleep on this series. Bring on book 3!

Operation Escape is Landra Graf’s second book in the Space Force Rejects series. This edition features Sera Klain seeking help from Markus Engle. She needs a pilot to help her find her uncle, Dr. Garsett. She asks him to fly her to Earth to speak to an ex-commando who had last seen her uncle. Earth is where all Space Force prisoners serve their sentences. Everything goes off without a problem as they begin their descent onto Earth. Without a thought, Sera leaves Markus’s spaceship, disregarding safety. Unbeknownst to Sera, Markus has been struggling with a dilemma caused by one of Dr. Garsett’s old experiments. There is something stirring in him instinctively to protect Sera, even if it costs him his life.
Markus hears Sera scream and exits the spaceship to see two convicts trying to hold her captive. A fight ensues, and Markus falls critically injured. The two men attempt to fly the spacecraft but it blows them up when they miss the timing of the opening in the barrier. Now Sera and Markus are stuck on Earth, completely defenseless against the violent criminals and wildlife that roam the planet.
A story of passion and steamy scenes, Operation Escape is a science-fiction romance novel full of adventure. The witty comments and exceptional attention to detail could place me as the proverbial fly on the wall. Moments of danger, personal growth, and trust add depth to the story and send the characters heading straight for the sequel. I look forward to reading the following books in this series.

I was excited to read Book 2 in the Space Force series and this book did NOT disappoint!!! This book gave me sci fi adventure, betrayal, loyalty tested, fated mates, angst, danger and hot sizzle between Sera and Markus. I highly recommend reading this series in order beginning with book 1.

Sera is on a mission...her mission is trying to find out what happened to her missing uncle,
Dr. Garsett, whom you meet in book 1. Sera seeks the help from Markus, whom was part of the military and knew Dr. Garsett as well. While seeking information about her missing uncle, the definite attraction to Markus is trying not to cloud her determination to find her uncle.

Markus is determined to help Sera, feeling like he owed her due to knowing Dr. Garsett in a previous life in the military. When lies and betrayal come about with helping Sera, they are both left on Earth deserted. Seeking to find answers and friendships to help with the finding Sera's uncle, the attraction and scent of Sera...Markus knew he couldnt deny any longer they were meant to be.

Will Sera and Markus be able to find out what happened to Dr. Garsett while trying to fend of people who are out to get them and also being betrayed at the same time?

I am already looking forward to what happens next in this series when book 3 comes out. This series has totally surprised me and I am enjoying the ride!

Operation Escape is the second book in the Space Force Rejects series by Landra Graf. It is a fantastically immersive sci-fi romance- a real rollicking space adventure with plenty of action, danger, drama, intrigue, suspense, mystery, alien races, forced proximity/bonds, chemistry, connection, science experiments, tension, choices, challenges, agendas, politics, violence, fated mates, and an escape mission.
When it comes to sci-fi romance, Landra Graf is definitely one of my go-to authors as she always delivers a riveting reading experience, crafting her stories with incredible world-building, intriguing storylines, and quirky interesting characters.
What happens when you throw a pansexual ex-military modified MC together with a greenhorn nerdy heroine who is on a desperate quest to track down her missing uncle. The supposedly simple mission goes awry when they find themselves ambushed and trapped on a penal planet, with a very large target on their back. Yep, you guessed it- things are going to get a little intense. They are going to have to come up with a new plan, and think on their feet, if they have any chance of making it out alive. Let the adventures begin…
Another great read- Bring on Book #3!
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Landra Graf!

This is my second read by Landra Graf and like Operation Pinpoint, this book did not disappoint. Operation Escape is the second book in the Space Force Rejects series, and just like Operation Pinpoint it is a unique and original sci-fi tale with a little bit of everything. I definitely suggest reading the first book in the series because I feel that you would be lost without doing so because quite a bit of the storyline and characters intertwine.
There are experiments, DNA altering, loyalties being tested, and so much more that you won't know who can be trusted and who cannot.
To me, the characters of the crew have kind of a Guardian of the Galaxy feel, there's the heroine that tries very hard, a science experiment, and some aliens. The variety of characters gives the book an interesting feel and makes it even more entertaining.
What started off as a simple mission ends up leaving Sera and Markus fighting for their lives on an unknown and hostile planet.
Believe me when I tell you that this new world is full of action, plenty of danger, and what's good story without some adventure and romance. This is a book that should be given a chance because I promise you won't be disappointed, like I said earlier....read the first book!

I really loved this sci-fi romance. This is the second book in the Space Force Rejects series. The author does a fantastic job of bringing this story to life and I love the unquie take on the romance between the hero and heroine being similar to fated mates, however this bond isn't neutral it was made by a experiment being performed on Markus.
Neither he nor Sera want this bond. However when Sera's uncle (the scientist who injected Markus with this curse) goes missing Markus sees this as the opportunity to perhaps get this bond removed. Pretty simple right?
Oh how wrong they are. When they have to travel to Earth to find her uncle they are faced with a planet of people who are traitors, convicts, the lowest of the low. People who will stop at nothing to see Markus And Sera dead. However as dangerous as the situation is Markus and Sera need to work together, alongside these people of they are going to succeed.
Add to this lies, secrets, danger, a bond neither of them want and a connection and an attraction neither of them can deny, this becomes one hell of a space ride. One you will definately not be able to put down.

This is the second book in the Space Force Rejects and I can say 100% that if you like your scifi with a bit of heat, emotion and angst, bringing together many species then you will not be disappointed.
In this book we follow Sera as she hunts for her uncle, left as a pen pushing desk jockey within Space Force her uncle had paired her with a protector, once her uncle vanishes Sera uses her skills and sneaky ways to try and find him, along the way she meets her paired / mate / protector in the form of Markus an ex special ops from Space Force.
Markus feels the bond at first scent, and knows he cannot say no to protecting and helping Sear in any way possible, but feelings are not what he is interested in.
They find themselves marooned on Earth, now a prison planet and this is where the story really takes on a life of its own, the characters they meet, the information they gather and the description of the world as it is then is dramatic and thoroughly engaging. The species they come across, double crossed by and attempt to escape with are amazing.
Again I am waiting to read the next book by this author.

Sera is determined to find her uncle. Usually resigned to a desk job she sneaks away to find a pilot who will help her in mission. This leads her to Markus Engle. He agrees to help her but he does have ulterior motives that he is not prepared to share. Sera is rather trusting, if not a little naive, which does come with being kept somewhat isolated. Markus has known that he was just marking time until he was needed. Their relationship is great to watch. They are both unwilling to admit what they see and feel about each other and yet they each give way to the other despite all that.
The undercurrents and plots swirling through the story along with the relationship between Sera and Markus are magical. The world building is just so gripping and you cannot help but be sucked in. it is addictive and you becomes so invested in what is happening. There is so much more to it. I cannot wait to see what might be coming next!

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. This is the second book in this series which I enjoyed just as much as the first book. I highly suggest reading the previous book as well to help your enhancement of this series and to see where characters have been. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. A story that is full of sci-fantasy that has some romance mixed into it. I enjoyed how the author used details to pull you into the story from the beginning. The characters are connectable and ease you into their world and keep you there until the last page. There is great growth of the characters as well as the plot which I enjoyed watching. This is an easy, fast paced story that has great entertainment value. Find out what happens on a simple rescue mission on planet Earth which is being held prisoner. This is a series you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book.

Operation Escape (Space Force Rejects Book 2) by Landra Graf. This is the 2nd book in the Space Force Rejects series but you don't have to read the first to understand this one. Its the story of Sera who is the daughter of the head of Space Force but because she was so tiny he fired her and ordered her termination. Her Uncle Garsett is the one who has raised her and helped her thru life but he has disappeared so she sets out to find him. Markus Engel who was once a space captain is the only person Sera can trust. Unknown to Sera there has been a bond set between her and Markus so she doesn't understand the constant pull she has to him. He knows and tries to ignore it but its very difficult. When a informant steals their ship and leaves Sera and Markus stranded on Earth with no way to escape. This is a book of trust and having that trust without earning it. Will they be able to work together to escape the prison planet? Read this fast paced Sci Fi Romance to find out!

Sera Kain must find out what happened to her uncle, the only human being who ever had given a damn about her. With the limited conditions of her physic not much can be achieved, but her mind is and always will be the best of her assets, she just needs the help of a warrior, and she knows exactly who he is.

Markus Engle quit the space force for all the corruption and discrimination that the place provoked to the entire universe, but his past will follow him to the ends of the galaxy.

The story of humans literally made for each other based on the science of another race, bound to be mates against all odds. Their adventure will take them back to the place where humans were created, the Earth. Danger and romance combined to create a place where the opposites complement each other just the right amount

Operation Escape (Space Force Rejects Book 2) by Landra Graf

Operation Escape is the second book in the Space Force Rejects series and is a Sci-Fi Romance that I absolutely loved reading. I pretty much read in one sitting because I had to know what was going to happen next. I recommend reading the previous book if you haven’t already as it gives you a better understanding what is going on and you get to know the characters better plus who doesn’t love a great series. The author does a wonderful job of grabbing your attention keeping it till the end. The characters are easily connectable and fun. They bring the story to life in this fast paced story.i highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens when a simple mission on planet Earth is being held prisoner. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Omg I finally get to read the second one🙌🙌🥰🥰I was extremely excited when I seen this had came out. This is the continuation for the Space force rejects series; it follows the out of this world love story between Sera and Markus. Operation Escape was truly almost as good as the first (the first one being my favorite) 😆 but it was equally adventurous with a new dangerous world. The author knows how to build a world and then constantly keep you guessing. The author also takes you deeper into the world giving you more details connecting this book to the first. I cannot wait til Book three comes out 🥰🥰😭 I can't wait to see what else she has in store for us. Fingers crossed it has just as much action as this one and the last.

I really enjoyed this one. It's strange and funny and is adventurous and sexy and has some interesting characters. I loved it!
Sera and Captain Marcus have a telepathic link and neither one wants it but they both desire each other. Sera doesn't know about the link but when she finds out she's not happy at being lied to.
They are on a mission to save Sera's uncle but to do it they have to break into earth which is now a prison. They are betrayed and then dumped and left on earth to fend for themselves. They meet some inmates who are aliens and quite strange folk. They ally themselves with them and make their way through earth trying to escape, but can they trust their new companions? Will they escape? Will they get caught by Space Force? Highly recommend reading this.

This is the second book in a great sci-fi series and a great follow up to the first. I would highly recommend reading this series in order so you get a full appreciation of the overall story and chatacters. This book is just as good as the first and the characters were just as interesting and engaging. I loved the premise of this story. It was easy to become invested in what was happening and I was rooting for the chatacters the whole way through. This is an author that I am becoming more familiar with and I always enjoy the writing style she uses. Her books as well written, original and a pleasure to read. I would highly recommend them.

Oh man I was in heaven finding yet another new author. As again I am reading out of order but I was not disappointed or out of sorts. I really enjoyed the world that this author has created and the characters are really good as well. The world is not your run of the mill typical sci-fi one and I was glad of that. I found that the chemistry between the characters was unique and as it built got really explosive. I really look forward to reading more from this author and this series in the future. I just could not put this book down. The book had a well balanced adventure and drama mixed in with romance. It definitely is one of my favorite genres.

I was thrilled to get to read book two in this riveting and exciting series. I was hopeful it would pick up where book one left off, but instead takes on a new journey, where we see how the stories intersect and we learn more about Space Force and some of its deadly secrets. Sera and Markus make a great team and I loved how awkward Sera was, it made watching them stumble through their feelings. This was a great story that I couldn’t put down. You don’t have to read book one to follow this story, but I absolutely recommend it, as it’s an amazing story as well. If you love your sci-fi with some romance, this is a great story!

Operation Escape is the second book in the Space Force Rejects series, and just like the first it will keep you entertained the whole way through. It was great to follow Sera and Markus on their journey, especially because Sera was incredibly relatable. She is awkward but strong, which I love. The author does such a great job creating chemistry between Sera and Markus, and there are plenty of steamy scenes as well. I recommend picking up Operation Pinpoint first as it will give you a deeper look into the world. This is definitely in your lane if you enjoy steamy and romantic sci-fi adventures!

Sera and Markus, I love this pair. I don’t like you but I’ll kind of trust you. She needs a pilot and gets him to help her rescue her Uncle. I found this story to be entertain and fast paced. Lots of new characters to meet and grow fond of (or you might not). I kind of like them. The action is fast and the adventures keep coming. These two grow on each other. I enjoy this author’s writing. She’s very engaging and keeps you wanting more. This is book 2 of the series and I find that I can’t wait for book 3. I shall be eagerly awaiting.

Operation Escape is the second book in the Space Force Rejects series by Landra Graf. When Sera Kain goes to Markus Engle to help find her uncle, he is unable to refuse her. This is a sci-fi, fated lovers book and it had me hooked from the start. There is plenty of testing of loyalty, adventure, and twists and turns. I love when the heroine is the awkward party and Sera was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed watching Sera and Markus try to navigate their feelings for each other. This book is for all those who love sci-fi with a bit of romance.

This is book 2 in this series but you don’t need to read book 1 to follow, although why you wouldn’t read book 1 is beyond me but you’ll figure that out after you read this one! Sera is a desk jockey who’s uncle has gone missing and she is going to find him. To do that she needs Markus. Markus didn’t think he wanted anything to do with leaving his home on the pleasure planet until our spitfire heroine walks in and up he goes. They back and forth between these two is awesome. The world being built by the author is tremendous and book 3 looks to be just as engaging as the first two!

The second book of Space Force Rejects is just as good as the first book. I picked it up and read it in a single setting. It was hard to put down, wanting to know what would happen next. Sera has a mission to find her missing uncle. Markus wants to enjoy life on the pleasure planet, but once their worlds collide, he can not tell her no. It is a story with adventure, mishaps, hard choices, and romance. Stuck on a planet without a way off leaves the pair in quite a predicament. Pick up the series to find out how this duo manage to navigate Sera's mission to find her lost uncle.

Sera is the daughter of head of space force but he said she was a failure. Her uncle who saved and raised her has gone missing. Months after his disappearance she can finally go search for him. Sera meets Markus, the captain, but they don’t know they are bonded due to her uncle. Sera goes to a hostile planet searching for answers about her uncle disappearing.
Can she make it off the hostile planet and back to Markus alive? I was not expecting all these twists and turns, but I absolutely loved this book! A must read!!

" I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book."

This book was different and quite enjoyable. Sera is looking for her uncle and enlisted the help of the person he told her to seek if she ever needed help. After quitting the space force, Marcus never thought that his past would catch up with him in the form of this irresistible communication desk jockey. After learning the truth, can they trust their feelings to be true?
