Since the first time he humiliated her in middle school, Mishti has never seen Vikram as anything but an arrogant bully-gorgeous, but a bully just the same. Despite the fact that they attend the same high school, she's managed to avoid him after all, it's not like they run in the same social circles. But the year before graduation, their English teacher assigns Mishti and Vikram to a group project along with Saahil, Mishti's crush. The timing couldn't be worse...because this project has the potential to make or break Mishti's high school career. To get into New York University, her dream college, Mishti has to make this trio work.
As they're forced to spend time together, Mishti is prepared for Vikram to be a lot of things-irresponsible, lazy, rude-but the last thing she expects is to like him.
But with a history of hurt to get over, and a perfect guy like Saahil vying for her attention, will Mishti be able to trust Vikram with her heart again?

A beautiful, yet simple tale which will soothe the craving of all romance readers. Not You Please, is a wonderful work of fiction that really rings the bell. I loved the narration and was just awe-struck by its simplicity. The characters will definitely make you relate it to your own real life.
Mishti, touched my heart with her innocence whereas Vikram looked just like the perfect guy to me with a combination of all traits that made him worth falling for. Saahil had her own role which he played very well.
The book is a well-knitted one that will turn out to be a delightful read. For all those who haven't read from a long time, I'd recommend this one because it will make you sink into the art of reading by its amusing narration.
Not You Please is a YA enemies-to-lovers romance novel by Anuradha Dev. It's a quick read that's easy to read and is your classic high school romance novel mixed with a little of the coming-of-age genre as well. It's a bit on the cliché side for me, but there's nothing wrong with that, as I think it can appeal to a younger audience.
Mishti is relatable because not only is she someone who knows that she has to grow in order to be a bigger person, but she also knows when to stand up for herself so that she doesn't get walked over.
When it comes to Vikram, it took a while for me to warm up to him, but in the end, he ticked all the right boxes, and in the end, he won me over with his charm.
The plot of the book is safe, and it's one you can read when you're looking for something that's more grounded and familiar. But that doesn't mean it wasn't eventful. The author does a great job of creating a plot that doesn't feel out of reach in the real world, and her writing style makes it easy to get lost in the story.
Overall, it's a good debut novel, and I would recommend this to those who have either just started reading more mature books or who like to read high school romances.
Mishti has never seen Vikram as anything other than an arrogant bully since the first time he made fun of her in middle school. She has avoided him despite the fact that they attend the same high school. But, their English teacher assigns Mishti, Vikram, and Mishti's crush, Saahil, to a group project the year before graduation. Because this assignment has the potential to either improve or ruin Mishti's high school career, the timing could not be worse. Mishti needs to make this trio function in order to be admitted to New York University, her dream school. Mishti expects Vikram to be an irresponsible, sluggish, and rude person as they are compelled to spend time together. But, the last thing she anticipates is falling in love with him. Not You Please by Anuradha Dev is a heart warming teenage love story that can make one nostalgic. It is a contemporary romance having enemy to lover and love triangle trope. I love the characterisation of the book. Introvert, studious Mishti and extrovert Vikrant are relatable characters that portray the intensity of emotions in adolescent period. Verdict: A sweet romance that can make one nostalgic.

Firstly, huge respect and great appreciation to the author Anuradha Dev making such a series of masterpieces. Though the discussion of the story line in such a book where many surprises are waiting after turning the pages , I personally don't like. As it destroys the author's effort and spoiler is never a great experience for me. However the story line revolves around Mishti who aspire to go for better college, Vikram Sethi and Saahil , Mishti's crush are the main protagonist. But the year before graduation, their English teacher assigns Mishti and Vikram to a group project along with Saahil. What happened next , grab a copy a of this book and explore more.

Not You Please is the debut book by author Anuradha Dev. Genre: Contemporary Fiction, Romance
Mishti is someone who's nice to everyone including her new classmate Sahil but gets offended when it's Vikram. Vikram is a hot guy and basketball captain and has got a charm. They're assigned a project and Vikram is in Mishti's group. They aren't friends yet but Vikram is trying his best. They somehow get close but Mishti starts liking Sahil. Then after a few days during a debate competition, Vikram helps her a lot and on her birthday presents her with a puppy. But then things get complicated. Nancy was always there for Mist along with Megh. Who's Sahil? What's his story? Is Vikram good? Whom will she choose? Who truly loves her? No doubt, Vikram is a charmer but will he settle for Mist? Read this amazing and feel-good love story to soothe your mind and calm your heart that's racing. It had been such a long time since a book made me smile and my heart dance. Glad I read this teenage love story. The book kept me hooked till the end. I only have one small suggestion if the character's journey had started from college it would even look far better. Why does Vikram call her Mist? That's the best like in the whole book.
A book with great character development. Highly recommended.
I think the plot was very well thought of. The characters, the setup of why these characters behave this way was understandable and the slow burn romance between the two main characters was really enjoyable. None of it was unnecessary unlike a lot of romance is I read last year. Definitely not those heavy books that You'll have to think hundred times before picking it up. Also, the little twist was really good I never actually saw it coming. So not only you get romance in this and even slow burn, but you will also get a little thrill. And yes! I love the cover. I love such cover that hits you hard when you finally finishes reading the book and you are like, "okay ! now I understand what was the cover about." You know I just love interpreting the covers before and after I finishes a book. Yes, I am one of those person who judge book by its cover. .. Lol... Also, Mishti, one of the main character, was so relatable. How she thinks she couldn't do it but how will she handles every situation. Love that a lot.
Light and short and fun read, definitely will suggest this one if you are trying to find such Romance for the month of love.

Enemies-to-lovers trope in a high school setting with a touch of a love-triangle.
Fast paced. Amusing highschool drama. Nostalgic— the kind of romance story that I was really drawn to when I had newly started reading and was really satisfied with. It took me back to my middle school and my Wattpad days. The story was a very relatable Young Adult.
Mishti: Relatable highschool introvert nerd, who's actually quite funny and quick-witted. Teacher's pet, and really intelligent. Struggled with body image. Always had a crush on Vikram.
Vikram: Typical highschool golden boy. But not the goofy kind. The kind that rides a bike, is daring and is really good at basketball. Surrounded by a shallow-minded set of friends. Doesn't have the best familial circumstances.
Vikram played a prank on Mishti in the past, exactly when Mishti was already having a hard time with her body image. The prank fed into her insecurities. She ends up hating Vikram. Fast forward, they still go to the same school and share a few classes— Mishti intrigues Vikram now, but he has no clue or recollection of why the girl loathes him.
The story follows Mishti growing into a confident young lady, and Vikram changing his ways and treating Mishti the way she deserves.
The beautiful journey of Mishti is captured in the book Not You Please. Every person who goes through ups and downs of friendships, relationships and emotions during school days will relive those moments with this book.
Story revolves around Mishti, Vikram and Sahil where Mishti plays the protagonist. Mishti is not appreciative of how Vikram behaves with her, and tries to avoid him. Sahil, being a good and humble man is her crush. And the twist pops into the story when their English teacher gives them a project, in which all the three have to work together.
The story gets interesting when the feelings of Mishti began to change for Vikram. Their chats, conversations with one another are beautifully portrayed by the author. A few images add more colour to the book. The writing style is lucid and easy to understand.
The cover page and the title of the book are my favourite thing over here. They make it a beautiful space.
Who doesn't love school days? Every adult loves talking about those days, we all reminisce about our school days and share our school stories with anyone ready to lend an ear. But you know what's the best way to relive those days? It's reading a book where the story revolves around school and teenage years.
I recently read one such book which took me back in time. Not you please is a teenage love triangle fiction where you'll find a quiet, shy, and not-so-famous Mishti stuck with the most famous boy in the school Vikram because of their English teacher who made a group of three for a project. Misthi along with Sahil decided to talk with Vikram and ask him to not join the group meetings and in return, he will get the project report ready. But Vikram being Vikram has different plans.
Mishti didn't like Vikram because of an incident of the past but deep down she had a soft corner for him. When she was confused about her feelings towards Vikram and they both started developing a bond of friendship, Sahil proposed to Mishti who said yes.
The story doesn't end here, it has lots of twists and turns. And among all of the drama you too will be forced to take sides.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the story. The book was a change to my hectic life.
The character development is what I liked the most, each character felt real. Be it Mishti, Vikram, or their friends Nancy and Shivam, all of them are admirable, and you see all of them growing throughout the book.
Not You Please is one such book where you already know what will happen next yet you will read the entire book.
The language of the book is easy and beginner friendly. The plot is simple but effective. The title and the cover justify the plot.
The story revolves around Misti and Vikram, two high school students. Mishti is the introverted teacher's pet, while Vikram is the playboy, who thinks so highly of himself. And Sahil is a new boy, who becomes close friends with Mishti. Enter their world of teenage drama, school projects, misunderstandings and love. The book is cheesy, hilarious and so much fun to read. I had a really good time enjoying the Bollywood vibe. This is an enemies-to-lovers, good girl bad boy, friends-to-lovers trope. Megha and Nidhi are two of my favourite characters. And Megha is the perfect example of how best friends can be made online too. This is an easy read and I would love to recommend this to everyone.
School days are the best days which you will always remember. With good and bitter memories, those days will always stay close to our hearts. This book surely made me nostalgic. School friendship, bullied by seniors, teenage love and first kiss are some things which we always miss.
Mishti is an introverted girl who doesn't have many friends. She has a bitter relationship with the school's most loved boy Vikram. Vikram being a Charming boy wasn't able to understand why Mishti hates him. But still they were assigned an assignment together along with a boy Saahil. Now to get a good score in that assignment Mishti must learn to put aside the differences with Vikram. While working together on the assignment, Mishti found Vikram friendly but at the same time rude also. Little did she know that she was falling in love with him. Will she be able to trust Vikram again? Will Vikram understand his mistake? Read this book to know that.
This beautiful written story will surely make you miss your school days and friends. The characters are really well developed especially Vikram who not only feels guilty for his behaviour but makes amends for it. Mishti you stole my heart from feeling an inferiority complex to becoming a confident girl who stood for herself.
The chemistry and sparks between Vikram and Mishti were amazing. The narration part is quite smooth with some amazing quotes. The story also focuses on themes like forgiveness, lesbians and trusting someone blindly.
The contemporary ya story will give you major vibes of enemies to Lovers and love triangles. A sweet and straightforward story will surely make you fall in love with it.
This is a beautifully written novel that explores the complexities of teenage love and friendship. The main protagonist, Vikram Sethi, is a rich and privileged brat, while Mishti Ahuja is a sensible and grounded girl. The story begins in the last year of their high school, where a new student named Saahil joins their class and becomes friends with Mishti. As their English teacher assigns them a group project, Vikram, Mishti and Saahil are forced to work together, leading to a series of events that test the limits of their friendships and romances.
Mishti is a relatable and strong female character, who is not afraid to stand up for herself and her beliefs.
The plot of the novel is well-crafted and keeps the reader engaged throughout. The chemistry between the characters is nothing short of breathtaking, and the author has done a great job of capturing the nuances and complexities of teenage relationships.
The novel offers a glimpse into the aspirations and struggles of teenagers in love.
The beautiful character portrayal, the amazing plot, and the amazing chemistry between the characters make this novel a guaranteed fun read. It is a realistic and entertaining portrayal of teenage love and friendship that will resonate with readers of all ages.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a captivating and enjoyable read.
I started this book with very low expectations and it surprised me a lot. The plot revolves around three teenagers - Mishti Ahuja, Vikram Sethi and Sahil Mahajan. The three happen to come together for a school activity and that is how their paths. While Vikram being on the school basketball team is the heartthrob of ask the teenage girls in the school, Mishti is quite the opposite. She is an introvert who is always away from the limelight. The English debate competition becames a way for Vikram and Mishti to come closer. There bond becomes stronger but there is an eternal struggle to truly confess their feelings for each other. And then one day...they grow apart and Sahil enters. Saahil proposes to Mishti. Will Mishti accept the proposal? Or Vikram is truly the one for her? Find out in this breezy and entertaining teenage romance. There were many places in the book which made me nostalgic about my teenage days. Especially, the parts that remind you of the first crush and the butterflies in your stomach. I recommended it to anyone who loves romance fiction.
Was I expecting a lot from this book? Maybe!! Did it satisfy my expectations? A 10000% YESSSSS!! I’m in love with his this story is written and especially how the characters sound a little too realistic. Vikram and Mishti, who happen to be the “kinds of enemies”, honestly they own my heart. I loved how she’s oh so calculative with everything she does but still is ready to take risks just for him and never let her true self hide away from him, even when she claims to hate him or dislike him or her “I’m not attracted to him” phase, she’s just love!!!!!😩❤️ A highly recommend book, any day, anytime!!<3
NOT YOU PLEASE by ANURADHA DEV is a beautiful love based novel. The story revolves around three school fellows, Mishti Ahuja - a sensible girl, Vikram Sethi - a rich handsome boy and Saahil Mahajan - a new admission.
Mishti was an introvert whereas, Vikram was a handsome, charming and dashing boy with an athletic body. It was their last year, Saahil was a new admission, who soon became a friend of her. They all three were indulged together in an English project which resulted in their friendship and more.
Further with the story, Vikram's love for Mishti gets disclosed, Mishti too had a secret crush on him, obviously she would have.. he was a bold personality. With time, something drastic happened. Mishti was left hurt by Vikram, of which he regrets later. After the sudden break up of these two, Saahil proposes Mishti.
*CURIOSITY* What caused a break up of Vikram and Mishti..? Will Mishti accept the proposal of Saahil..? What will happen next, will the story end with a happy phrase..?
I liked the plot and the relationship triangle. I loved the way author has described the characters. What I appreciate is.. the avoided over description. I think it would have been a lil hard for author to manage and show case the characters equally, but I'm amazed as it's to the point and perfect, which have grabbed the curiosity and interest while reading.
The language used is lucid with the perfect vocabulary. It's nor too simple nor too hard, easy and understanding. One can relate it as it's penned very beautifully and almost we all face such relationships in our lives nowadays. The book cover is beautiful and attractive. I recommend this book to all the fiction readers, especially the teen-agers.
THIS BOOK. it deserves all the stars. I think I finished it in 3 days because I could barely put it down. I'm not going to write a heavily worded review because I think it's better if you read it yourself without knowing much, but know this: the storytelling between the three main characters really makes you feel like you were there. This book was so brilliantly written, it flowed, it sucked me in right from the start, I loved all the characters, Anuradha Dev does an excellent job at drawing the readers in and making them feel the feelings the characters do.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone in need of an epiphany, anyone searching for answers, anyone needing that bit of hope, an eye opener! Drop that tequila and pick up this book because it is well worth the 6 cups of coffee I went through to finish it. I promise you will not be disappointed!💯
Student life is full of experiences that tend to bring about dynamic changes in our life. Some changes are for the better while few are for the worse. But how we deal and overcome the same, depends totally on our perspective.
This book fascinated me firstly because of its title, holding the mystery of what it holds from within. Revolving around Mishti Ahuja, a personality soothing her name, sweet and kind. One bad experience of bullying by Vikram Sethi had brought both of them into two completely distant lands.
But, destiny had some other plans for her. One assignment that will bring her dream of studying at her dream institution is totally in one such hand where she needs to join hands with Sahil, her crush, and Vikram, the one he'd never wish to patch up with. Read this amazing romantic fiction which you will find relatable to real-life scenarios. A really interesting one to relish.
There are some books that bring up bitter-sweet memories of high school days. Our first crush, teenage friendships, understanding our own hormonal changes, and so on. Not you please by Anuradha Dev is one such book that made me nostalgic while reading. Mishti, a high schooler scared of expressing her feelings because of her hurtful middle school years. Being bullied due to her curvy body she started corning herself and buried herself in books. Her nemesis, on the other hand, Vikram, is the school heartthrob. Mishti develops a friendship with the newcomer Sahil, as they team up for an English project. She finally found a friend in the entire class. The story takes a turn when she finds herself inclining toward Vikram. Written in a fun and engaging manner, the author talks about teenage love and friendships. She also brilliantly addresses the issues of insecurities and body shaming in the book. I find this book entertaining and the perfect comfort read for the weekend.
This is a teenager love triangle story of Mishti Ahuja, Vikram Sethi and Saahil Mahajan.
Mishti was a shy but sincere girl. She never participated in any activity, an introvert girl. Vikram was a famous guy of the school and very popular among girls. All girls loved his attitude and wanted to be with him. Saahil was a new student who entered in class 12 and found his first friend in Mishti.
Is Mishti in love with Vikram or something is brewing with Saahil?
This was a light read and an interesting story. It shows the school romantic story which revolved around three friends and their love story. This book was good to read but not a different one. It was a simple love story which was made interesting because of the writing. It kept me glued till the end as the characters were lovable but when we talk about the overall story, there was nothing new in it.
If you want some light read, then you can pick up this book.
We highly adore and cherish our school life because it has given us so much more than expected. This book titled 'Not You Please' written by Anuradha Dev, took me down memory lane with its exciting storyline and amusing characters.
Some bonds we make, while many come along as a part and parcel of life. Some turn out to be priceless while many are useless.
I relived the story due to its simplified but impactful narration which will soothe each one as reader. Enjoy the simplicity of Mishti, the arrogance of Vikram(in Mishti's terms), and the essence of the friendship of Sahil(or something more) in this teenage romantic fiction which holds a charm to captivate your attention. Highly recommended to all newbie readers as it will entangle them and enlighten them with the art of reading.
Not you please by Anuradha Dev is a surprise read. We have often faced a situation where we dislike a person for their behaviour or words and after a point of time or a situation we start liking them. I'm sure most of us have found our bestfriend that way.
Author has used this concept in her story with amazing twists in the way she has plot. Mishti character, the protagonist. Mishti has Initially disagreed with the behaviour of Vikram. Sahil being a humble dude steps in as her crush.
Their teacher groups them for a project and these teens end up in the same group. The trio slowly turns their feelings on with ups and downs and it forms a perfect love triangle trope pattern between them.
Feelings, acceptance, forgiveness, hatred, irritation, love, affection and attraction and many such points of the trio the author has touch with beautiful lines. Although it felt a bit lengthy to read but was worth it.
Read the story to discover the way Mishti develops feelings for Vikram who was a bully and made mishti face humiliation in high school.
The main protagonist of the story is Vikram Sethi and Mishti Ahuja. Vikram is a rich brat and Mishti is a sensible girl. She hates Vikram for something that happened in the past.
It's the last year of their school. Saahil, a new guy, gets admission in the school. He becomes friends with Mishti. She likes him too. Their teacher gives them an English group project, for which Saahil, Mishti, and Vikram group together.
Vikram loves Mishti. Secretly, she has a crush on him too, because who wouldn't? He's charming, has an athletic body, and plays basketball. All three of them become friends. But later, Vikram hurts Mishti and regrets. She breaks the friendship. Later, Saahil proposes her. What happens after? Read the book to find out more!
The cover of the book is good and with an amazing title. Writing style of the book is quite apt. Author perfectly synchronised the plotline. Language used in the book is quite good and easily understandable.
Characterization of the book is just perfect. All the characters are developed perfectly & makes you relate with them too. It's a quite fast paced book but you never feel any sort of frame drop while reading it.
The story really takes you on a journey with the three of them, the cover of the book is also an excellent choice, as it looks really good and will surely get picks in any store and the good part is it also has the story to back up the attractive cover. Readers who love a good high-school romance will definitely enjoy this book. Pick it up for a weekend binge reading and I'm sure it will be worth your time and reading experience. Highly recommended.
The intensity of genuine emotions need no compulsion to be expressed by words they are seem by the actions and the language of the eye.
Mishti,a sweet girl had the worst of experience with his school mate Vikram, that developed a bridge that can never be mended.
But a twist in the tale, will bring one such a phase where both are brought together to work and step ahead into the future .
Will Mishti overcome her hatred for Vikram or they will encounter a new common feeling which'd be more gentle and kind. Will Sahil just stay in a bind?
Read this romantic fiction written in one such a narration to keep you intact in the story.
"I'm smiling as I cut the call. As I go through the call in my mind, the smile drops. I just made a deal with the devil himself. Hiding my face in the pillow, I groan."
After a long time, I am reading a triangular love story. What's best is, it has scenes from student life, which most of us enjoy reading.
The story involves the trio - Vikram, Mishti and Saahil, Mishti's crush. Vikram bullies Mishti due to which she develops a negative opinion about him. She has dreams of going abroad for her studies. When they are grouped together to do a project, the actual story begins.
The language is relatively easier to follow and hence, a very good page turner. You will not be disappointed if you are a fiction fan. Most importantly, it's easier for beginners to follow. The cover is also cute. Overall, I found the book to be decent.
Love triangles will always have one left behind but what about this one?
This romantic novel revolves around 3 friends Mishti Ahuja, Vikram Sethi, Sahil Mahajan.
Mishti, a very sweet and kind hearted girl. Vikram, the boy everyone would fall in love with (including me). Sahil, new student. Story starts taking pace when all three of them are assigned an English project as a group. The love, hate, crush relation between all three of them will keep you addicted until the very end just to find whether it'll have a happy ending or not?
The way author has written is very easy to understand and simple. You'll fall in love with the story as well as these characters.

Is a very sweet and reality based love story. It's a story of two students as they go through the final year of school. It beautifully depicts how they are handling all the educational pressure to do good and get into good colleges and also handling all the extra curricular activities. It also shows how they handle there feelings. There are a lot a obstacles that they faces and that's for me to know and you to find out.
A heartwarming young adult love story filled with angst and moments of comedy
Not You Please is a beautiful coming-of-age young adult love story between Mishti and Vikram.
Mishti at the beginning feels quite ostracized from the rest of her class. As the story progresses she learns what it is to form real friendships and to experience the joys and pitfalls of trusting and loving those around you. I really felt for her and as she experiences different emotions through the situations with characters like Vikram, Nancy, and even her online friendship, I could feel my heart also reaching out to her through the laughter and tears.
Vikram is a character hard to relate to at the beginning since he does seem to be a typical playboy but I really love how the author portrays each character in a human light, that we aren’t perfect and we are all growing. When we grow from that stage of being seventeen/eighteen to beyond it’s really that stage where we sometimes make mistakes and have to pay the price for them. I started to really feel for Vikram as a character, because I felt his anguish and how he really wanted to be different but such cycles were in place that were hard to break.
What I love the most about this story is the way the threads come together in a lovely way. I wondered how things would turn out for the better between Mishti and Vikram, and the ending really didn’t disappoint.
I enjoyed every moment of comedy as the characters would playfully tease each other, or through the gritty moments too, where there were tears shed and some betrayals. I don’t want to give spoilers but I do recommend this story to those who enjoy teen/young adult fiction, with a focus on school life and growing up and facing challenges of love, finding your place in the world, and finding those friendships that can last a lifetime. I also like the focus on forgiveness and what it means to reconcile for some of the characters.
It feels like I’ve just met two beloved friends, knowing that things won’t ever be the same now that I’ve read this book for the first time.
Bravo to the author for creating this heartwarming story that is a perfect read for any time of the day or night!
