She can’t leave if she’s already gone.

Jack
My 45th birthday is next week, and I want a baby. I ask Emma Cox, my personal assistant, to surrogate for me.
I’ve always had feelings for her, but I never wanted to acknowledge them because I’ll never get married.
I think she’s crazy when she accepts my terms on the condition we spend time with our friends and families so our child will have a support system without her.
What I didn’t understand was Emma wasn’t doing it for our baby. She was doing it to show me what I could have if I put the past behind me.
Something I will never be able to do, no matter how much I love her.

Emma
I’ve been in love with billionaire Jack Durand since the day I met him. I didn’t want to be the office cliché and kept my feelings to myself.
When he asks me to surrogate, against everyone’s advice, I say yes. I want to use the time with him to make him fall in love with me.
I didn’t realize how deeply his rocky childhood hurt him, and I should break our contract before he breaks my heart.

Author's Note: This is the first book in a completed trilogy. Jack and Emma's story ends happily, but this book does have a storyline that carries through to books two and three. I hope you enjoy, and thank you for reading!

The writing was so so so bad. Like sir… if you don’t go hire a normal surrogate instead of asking your damn assistant. I just… this book was just.. bad.

This is part of The Lost & Found Trilogy each book can be read as a standalone with a sexy guy and the girl who steals his heart without his permission. Jack sexy as all get out billionaire with control issues, wants an heir to carry on his name but not the complication of a relationship or love and so he asks his personal assistant approaching it like he does everything a business deal nothing more or less he never thought his heart would be on the line or this one transaction would change his path. Emma intelligent nerves of steel to deal with her demanding boss also, so in love with him but he can’t seem to get past the past allowing his heart to feel so when he ask her to become a surrogate for him of course she agrees in hopes he will see he deserves love and that sometimes the past is just a lesson to be learned knowing she isn’t going to give her baby away when that child would be loved by two parents. The attraction wasn’t an issues it was always there just below the surface but that magnetic pull was something neither of them realized the pull was so much more then either of them could control and no matter how hard he tried to stay away from her the stronger the pull but what happens when a business transaction backfires feelings that weren’t supposed to happen become an issue, what happens when the heart he thought died a long time ago makes an appearance beating only for her, will he finally see that fate is offering him a second chance at forever with his girl, and will it lead to the family he always wanted with the girl who has always stared in his dreams?.

A wonderful story that had me gripped all the way through.
It would have been a 5* but I felt the ending was extremely underwhelming.
This is anll about Jack & Emma tho all the characters were interesting and all played huge rolls in the story which again made me feel hooked and connected.
Emma has worked for Jack for 3 years and has loved him from the moment they met. Jack has decided that he wants a baby and tells his friend Heath about this saying he wants Emma to be his surrogate and have his baby.
Jack is in love with Emma without admitting it to even himself.
Lots of drama is involved ( I won’t spoil ) this had love hate emotion drama, truly an emotional rollercoaster for everyone for various reasons.
I had to mark down as the ending was such a let down for me as a reader.
I love the HEA and an epilogue showing the lives they build yet this didn’t have either. It was supposed to be a baby surrogacy story yet it ended without us even knowing if Emma and Jack had a baby boy/girl or even if she was even pregnant.
It was a huge letdown after becoming so engrossed in the story.

In the book “Give and Take” Jack is about to celebrate his 45th birthday and starts to think about the things that is missing in his life like children. He doesn’t want to get married, his mother left his father when he was a young child and his father never remarried. Meanwhile his sister has been married several times. Jack is in a relationship with a woman although he is content with her he doesn’t want her to have his children. Emma has been Jack’s trusty assistant for the last 3 years and is madly in love with him, a fact everyone but him seems to know. Jack becomes obsessed with the idea that Emma could have his child and they could remain friends. Emma agrees to be his surrogate with some conditions. Emma hopes her conditions will enable Jack to fall in love with her. Will Jack fall in love with Emma? Will Jack break Emma’s heart? Great story that pulled at my heart strings. I loved Emma for her courage of agreeing to be his surrogate but I also thought she was crazy to risk it. This is the first book in a trilogy I am eagerly waiting to read the next two books.

Man! The tug on my emotions was rough. I shed tears, literally LOLd, and sighed several times.

Jack and Emma are perfect for one another and, while their journey to their HEA came with many obstacles, hills, and valleys, they made it. Emma has loved Jack for years but, being his employee, she never acted on those feelings until his proposal. (baby proposal). She uses this opportunity to show Jack he can love even though he is determined to never invest his heart.

This story is filled with betrayal, heartbreak, a strong male lead and a sweet female lead, a great supporting cast, and a beautiful HEA that will make all the ups and downs your emotions go through worth it.

You should definitely grab this one if you are a fan of stubborn heroes groveling to the sweet heroines who love them.

I loved this one so much that I immediately one-clicked the rest of the series!

Reliving a Broken Past . . .

Jack Durand would be celebrating his 45th birthday in a week. Although he wants a child, his own childhood trauma means that he will never marry, afraid he will make his father’s mistakes. However, he was ready to ask his personal assistant Emma Cox if she would be his surrogate for having the baby.

Emma was already in love with him and intended to use their time together so that she could perhaps convince him they belonged together. Would her plan work out? Would Jack finally realize that a future with Emma would not end up the same as what happened in his childhood? Or would she need to walk away before her own heart was broken?

This was a really good book and the first from this author that I have read. Past childhood trauma and having convinced himself that he never wants to get married put Jack completely against marriage but he wanted to have a child. Emma, being in love with him since she started working there wanted to give him that child, but there were stipulations on both sides. I really liked this storyline and the chemistry that you could feel between the two. I look forward to reading about Raff and his story next. This is a must read.

Emma and Jack Touched my heart in this story. He had a bad childhood experience and as a result vowed never to get married. He wants a child and asks Emma to surrogate. She agrees but she has stipulations. When these two starts Emma wanted to show Jack what he could have. Will she lose her heart in the process of giving Jack the child he wants? This story kept me in Jack and Emma's corner from start to finish!

If you are expecting heartwarming, this isn't that book. Jack has major childhood abandonment issues but, hey, never got therapy for it. He wants a baby but no wife or marriage; just a surrogacy. Emma has loved him for 3 years. He asks her to be his surrogate. "He wants to pay me to break my heart." This story is one long heartbreak; actually hard to read. If you like pain, heartbreak, angst, then read this one. It's not an enjoyable read for me. The ending was a huge disappointment; there's only a handful of pages that resolve Jack's conflict. Then, the end.

This is the first on a new trilogy, and this is Jack and Emma’s story. Jack is nearing his 45th birthday, and he wants a baby without the complication of a relationship, while Emma is his PA, and the one he wants to become his surrogate. This is a well written story which has family, friendships, emotions, romance, and love, which leads to an entertaining page turner.

This book is a fun, gut renching story about Emma who loves her boss, and her boss (Jake) who just wants a baby and can't fathom being in a relationship. This book is steamy, heart renching and beautiful all at the same time.

Great book!

I really enjoyed reading this book. I chose it because it was on Kindle Unlimited - never having heard of the author’s name before. It was a great storyline and I loved the HEA with Jack and Emma talking their way through the misunderstandings, etc. 5 SUPER stars!!!

I’ve read contemporary romance from this author in the past, and knew I wanted to give this new genre a chance. There’s a lot to say about this story and I read the novel in one night. I don’t want to give anything away though so I’ll say this…

1) I continued reading for a lot of reasons but most importantly because I’m a sucker for pregnancies in stories and I prayed Emma wouldn’t follow through with the contract. As a mother myself, it almost hurt me she was even considering it.

2) I was hoping Clark and Veronica would get their story and already pre-ordered it! I’m not sure who the couple is in book 3, but I hope it’s Claire and her first husband lol.

The author has a way of creating characters who you’ll either want to be friends with or want to hate so badly you imagine punching them in the face. Regardless of what you feel, you’re rooting for them in the end. The story here was no different.

A perfect example of even those with money have broken skeletons in their closets too. 4/5 stars
