So, this does not seem to be the most popular manga out there, but I really enjoy the art and the slow but steady drip of the mystery. Luckily I own the whole series, so I can read one volume every evening on the sofa.
I hope the pace keeps up, and that we see more of certain characters.
I like the characters and the graphics, and the story certainly intrigues me, enough that since I have through volume 10 checked out, I will be reading them all, but it certainly won't be my favorite manga. The story feels a little scattered at times and I feel it would be really beneficial if there were character descriptions and a summary at the beginning of the volumes to help (I have seen this in other manga and love it). I feel like this is a series that may translate better as an anime (not sure if that exists or not).
So apparently I am not the only one to lose interest. Great artwork, and a somewhat functional story, suffer from not being able to tell who any of the Ayakashi are as they are constantly in a group and talking back and forth. Even when only two characters are on a page, most speech bubbles are not attributed either through line-work and proximity to one of the characters. I had no idea who was saying what to who at any time in this volume. Very disappointed.
I forgot most of what happened from the previous manga so I was confused as to which characters were being referenced and the events taking place. Overall I wasn't really impressed with the way the story was going, so I don't think I'll continue on with this series.
