Ok first and foremost thank you again Randina. (Won the ARC in a giveaway)

This book was so good! It was definitely hard at times and I needed to set it down before coming back to it. It was heart wrenching, but honestly it made me feel not so alone. Some things I could relate to, while others I couldn’t. But that’s ok. As someone who has also started on a journey of self love I needed this. I added notes as I was reading, too, which was very cathartic. If you’ve had a rough past, especially any form of childhood trauma, I highly recommend this poetry collection.

randina's poetry is a gorgeous work of art, discussing trauma, healing, self-growth and self-love. it is a coming home to yourself, a hand reaching out to help you heal through the poet's own story and journey.

this collection reminds me that no matter the monster, you are worthy of healing; you should stand unapologetically in your truth; and your love for yourself is enough to heal and wake up again.

highly recommend for anyone looking to heal, especially if you have also gone through SA and CSA. however even if you haven't experienced those particular traumas, randina's work carries universal healing messages that can be applied to your own journey & her words possess so much strength and love, it's a must-have addition to your poetry collection.

Randina Sheldon writes about walking through the fire and coming out on the other side stronger and more herself. However, she holds those who hurt her firmly responsible. She makes space for both the pain and the expansive self she has become to live side by side. Her words capture the very personal state of being a work in progress.

Face the world; weightless, standing tall,
unapologetically owning your pace, space,
and armed with the knowledge that you are actually limitless

Although some of her imagery and themes repeat themselves, the genuineness of the sentiments behind them never lag. I think this poet is going to continue to grow, and I look forward to reading more of her work.
