Boden Call once liked being the big man on campus, but after being accused of something he didn’t do, he shunned public attention and dedicated his senior year of college to academics and long hours on the practice field. He didn’t believe he should have the privilege, nor was there time for meeting someone with whom he could develop a serious relationship.
Krista Bennett liked to keep her life private and uncomplicated. That is why she loves numbers… they are simple and non-complicated. The second her eyes met Boden’s, Krista knew her life would no longer be simple. Little did she know that it would no longer be private, either.
Together, they learn to overcome their past trauma as they tackle academics, family, and the media.

The characters were relatable and intriguing. I enjoyed the mysteries surrounding their backgrounds which kept me looking forward to the next chapter. The author describes characters who have very human imperfections and does so in a nonjudgmental manner allowing the reader to become invested in the challenges they face. Boden demonstrates a determination to overcome issues of self-esteem and does not dwell on the resentments that could have lead to a loss of faith. Krista finds the internal strength to move through potentially incapacitated grief and finds herself able to trust others. A feel good read!
