When Eugenia discovers Andrew is not the man to whom she is betrothed, she is humiliated and distraught. Prior to arriving at the party, she suspected her fiancé would not honor his promise of marriage, and now she has proof.
With no other choice, Eugenia renounces the engagement. Unable to remain in Scotland a moment longer, she flees. Andrew feels dreadful for this untoward turn of events and races after the lass, determined to save her from ruin. The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry….Robert Burns (Scottish Poet)

Scotland 1817

Andrew and Phillip MacGalloway are the handsome identical twin brothers of a Scottish noble family where their oldest brother is the Duke. The twin brothers also run a mill together that creates exquisite muslim. The ruse is that Philip wants to deceive his betrothed, Eugenia Radcliffe who he hasn’t spoken to or communicated to in over three years! Now his mother is having a house party but it is pretty much so Philip will honor his betrothal and set a wedding date already!

Furthermore Phillip just wants Andrew to give Miss Radcliffe very little attention but to basically ignore his fiancé and go hunting most of the time. Andrew feels this is so wrong to treat the woman you want to marry like this. Where Philip is a cold, self-centered, snob that only cares for himself. Andrew refuses this horrible plan but hesitantly agrees so his new sister-in-law-to-be won’t feel shamed or embarrassed plus being the helpful brother he is.

Therefore being the kind, sincere, gentleman he is and decides to make his acquaintance with Miss Eugenia Radcliffe as pleasant as possible. Andrew even keeps a list of the things that makes her special and unique, thinking it would enhance his brother's future marriage. Except he starts to have feelings for this woman who he now thinks as Eugenia that aren't very brotherly at all!

Eugenia thought for sure Philip wanted to break off the engagement! Especially not hearing from him since he proposed, however this man was is very different. Of course it’s been over three years so maybe he has changed or she doesn’t remember clearly. Eugenia always felt her mother set him up and put them in a compromising position to begin with. Especially since she had no offers since she came out two years ago being the shy wallflower. As both her mother and spoiled younger sister seemed ashamed of her and acted like she didn’t even exist the majority of the time.
So it was easy to discover her own amusements and during this time she discovered she had a talent for making lace, yet being the daughter of a Baron no one could know! As the gentry looked down at tradesmen, and snubbed women with talent and who had a brain who wanted more than just to be a married baby maker! Therefore when Philip was showering her with attention she was truly confused and she started having feelings she couldn’t control. Well that was until the real Philip returned to his mother’s house party and possibly opened up a whole can of worms!

Will Eugenia feel absolutely humiliated and betrayed not just by the twins but their entire MacGalloway family who all knew the truth? Shall she realize she has fallen in love and taken liberties with the wrong brother? If she discovers the truth can she ever forgive and forget? Will this cause a scandal of dire consequences that will ruin her family? Will she refuse her hearts true desire due to everyone’s deception? Will Eugenia assume the life of a spinster and remain alone forever?Find out this and more by reading this remarkable story about love, independence, deception, forgiveness and love.

Another winner that I absolutely loved about a scheming bother and a protective brother. It has all the elements that draws me in a beautiful story plus a few things that made me giggle too. It is no wonder Amy Jarecki is one of my favorite go to authors! Another book in this fun MacGalloway’s series that I absolutely loved. Can’t wait for the next book in this captivating series

A book I definitely recommend!

It’s a while since I read a story of twin’s switching places & I thoroughly enjoyed Andrew & Eugenia’s journey to a HEA. I loved them both Andrew the carefree twin did show a sensitive side, which endeared him to me, Eugenia was a delight & I’m so glad she made Andrew work to win her even though I thought it went on a little too long. Of course twins swapping places is never going to end well but it makes for a very entertaining read
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

This is a fantastic and fun story. Andrew and Eugenia are great characters. They along with the rest of most of the characters had been previously introduced in another story and it was great to visit with them again. Andrew is dashing and kind. He is the fun brother who is always willing to help. Eugenia is a fiercely determined young lady with a wide creative streak. The story is filled with interesting and witty banter as Andrew and Eugenia get to know each other. It is a page turning story that will have you laughing at times but definitely rooting for the couple and their happiness.

Oh, Wow what a story !! I have gone to school with identical twins and know the tricks they like to play.
Sir Andrew and Sir Philip Mac Galloway have switched places a lot in their life. Now Philip wants Andrew to meet and entertain his betrothed for two or three days at their mother's house party !!
Philip has been betrothed to Miss Eugenia Radcliffe for over three years !! He has not seen or acted like a suitor since the incident that cause then to be engaged. Eugenia is more than ready for him to set a date so they can move on. Her mother, a Dragon of a woman has told her by the end of the party or else. Eugenia knows very little about her finance other than he is a very large, handsome Scot who now goes by Sir instead of Lord. When she last spoke with him, he was stiff, proper and seemed very stern.
The man who greets her at Stack Castle seems much more relaxed and actually smiles ! She is happy for the difference but wonders that three years would make such a difference. Andrew is shocked when he meets Eugenia for the first time ! What is wrong with Philip to not want anything to do with this lovely lady and instead spend all his time with his horses !! After his family gets over the shock of what Philip and Andrew are doing all including the staff play alone. Unfortunately, there are those who can tell the twins apart and are too small to be told of the ruse. Oops. As Andrew playing Philip gets to know Eugenia, they can't help but grow feeling for the other. Eugenia is starting to feel like a marriage to Philip may not be bad at all. As the saying goes all good things must come to an end and so they do.
When Eugenia learns about the trick played on her she is heartbroken and mad as a wet hen !
Now Andrew takes the blame much more then Philip and tries to right the wrong.
This story has a lot going on in it, with demanding mother, spiteful sister, uncaring twin and lot of family. I love the honor, need to protect and look after that Andrew has even when Eugenia hates him.
There is so a lot of growing, misunderstandings, secrets and love and caring too. Skye, the Scottish deer-hound is priceless along with Andrew's niece and nephew, got to love wisdom from children.
If you love strong women, handsome Scott's and a different kind of love story this is a good book for you. There is much going on with our H and h the other doesn't know.
I received and ARC from the author and wish to thank her. This is my honest opinion and am freely giving it. I now want to go back and read the rest of this series. I bet they are all just as wonderful and I can't wait to get start...

Join in on this magical journey with fierce heroine and rugged highlander as they butt heads and fight for their hearts desire. Amy has her unique talent in full swing with these two that it was a joy to read.

Sir Philip MacGalloway and Sir Andrew MacGalloway are twins in looks only. Sir Phillips gets engaged and then promptly neglects his betrothal. Now she is coming to Scotland and the fun begins. They run a mill together that makes fine, soft muslin.

Miss Eugenia Redcliffe has waited three years, two months, and five days to see or hear from her betrothed. Being invited to a house party by the Dowager dutchess gives her time to know her betrothed and set the date hopefully. She is a very talented lacemaker.

Here is the fun. Not to give too much but only one thing! Twin antics are about to go wrong and learn a very valuable lesson. Miss Eugenia shows her independence, pride, and shout hearted strength to all.

So join our highland house party for fun, antics, mischievous characters, and a deerhound that loves people. Find out what the twins did, Eugenia does to them and how it is made up to her.

Cute

I haven't read a historical romance in quite some time despite it being my absolute guilty pleasure. Kissing the Highland Twin did not disappoint. Eugenia's character was strong and determined and truly stuck to her principals. I enjoyed reading her adventure.

While this book is part of a set, I believe it can be enjoyed as a standalone. I did not see any spoilers beyond revealing the couples, I did not feel like I was missing anything.

I recommend for anyone wanting a quick, fun read.

I liked this book. I enjoyed the sweet romance that transpired between Andrew and Eugenia. While reading the book I knew that it would end as a happily ever after. The characters all were entertaining and a little crazy I thought, but what family is not? The story is a page turner for the historical romance readers out there.

Ms Amy does not disappoint with this new installment of the MacGalloway family. I loved Andrew’s sense of honor and protectiveness. His willingness to take blame that was not entirely his was heart wrenching. Watching Eugenia go through such pain, not only from her betrothed, but her family as well just broke my heart. I have to admit, I expected this story to go one way, only to be pleasantly surprised of how the story did go. It was a refreshing change from the normal storylines that one gets in the regency era. I TRULY wanted to see Eugenia’s lace and gowns. They sounded gorgeous! Wonder who will take on Phillip’s stoic behavior!!.

I really enjoyed this book.
Andrew lost a bet to his brother and now must pretend to be his twin at the dowger duchess's house party. The party at which Eugenia, Phillips's fiance of 3 years will be.
I liked the realtionship between Andrew and Eugenia. I liked how they got to know one another. I hate the lies Andrew had to tell.
I liked how Andrew wanted to help Eugenia even knowing that she may never forgive him.
Andrew was really sweet and I loved him even when the deception was occurring but once Eugenia knew the truth, he got better.

I Loved It! Kissing the Highland Twin will keep you spellbound as it takes you on a rollercoaster ride that brims with tension building twists and turns, deception, danger and chasing one lady who is bound and determined to flee. The MacGalloways series of stories has a carry over of characters that take us through these love stories about family unity. I love Amy Jarecki books that gives readers a well-written story, filled it with flawed characters who manage to grow and yet retain their personalities which captivates you from the beginning until the very end, sizzling passion, and with humorous situations. With setting descriptions and action sequences that are wonderfully vivid that brings the story to life and as the uncertainties escalates the suspense builds and catastrophes abound which brings this read together perfectly.

A charming addition to the MacGalloway family. Sir Andrew does not disappoint in his leather doublet and tartan kilt, the very image of a braw highlander. The misbegotten idea that he could successfully pose was his twin brother Phillip is laughable when you consider their personalities. Where Phillip is stern and serious, Andrew is everything light and carefree. Naturally, Miss Eugenia cannot help but fall for such a man. But the story truly begins when the gig is up and she realizes their ruse. Feeling wounded and humiliated she runs to set up her own life, forming her lacemaking business. The journey for her and Andrew to finally reunite is entertaining and pulls all the heartstrings. Eugenia truly made him work for her affections and this was truly satisfying. The treasure though is when Phillip goes to speak for his brother showing that he can indeed have a sensitive side. This family is a treat to read and I enjoyed getting to revisit with so many from past stories. A delightful read!

This was a fun mix between Highlander romance and regency romance. I enjoyed most of the book, but thought the separation part was a bit too long and kind of boring after a while. I was scared the twin switch would go on for long, but luckily it did not

𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄

I just adored Andrew, he is so kind and caring, fun and protective.
Sure, by agreeing to his twin scheme, he knows it is the wrong thing to do, yet he also does not want his brother’s intended to feel slighted, which she had been since their « betrothal ».
Because, unlike his brother, he sees his fiancée for the lovely shy woman she is, he did not dismiss her for her modesty.
For all his wickedness, he gets to know her, to learn about her and what he finds out, he shares with his twin to let him know how nice is his betrothed.
So when things take a wrong turn, he is the one who pursues Eugenia.
Eugenia is sure the victim of the twins trick, after years of being ignored, she is now finally able to have a glimpse of who is her intended, and he is so much more fair and gentle than she remembered.
So while her reaction is on the extreme side, it is understandable she feels betrayed when she pieces together the clues that did not fit.
For there begins a wild journey with an Andrew as the unwanted but necessary chivalrous knight, a man who despite her rejections and unkind words still finds ways to make sure she is safe. A hidden savior.
I think her dismissal of Andrew’s feelings went on the long run, yet she needed to live a little to be able to weight the value of all her choices. To come to term with her naive dreams and the reality of life, to heal her wound before being able to see the man who stood by her all along.

I knew I was a goner when I got through the first few pages: twin highlanders pull a switcheroo at a house party, but oops the "wrong" twin falls for his brother's betrothed 😍 Although it seems like there would be big consent issues, Andrew really doesn't want to go along with it and vows to keep it chaste - before everything goes sideways for romance reasons, of course.

This book started out very fun, funny and lighthearted. Andrew is the sweeter, more kind-hearted brother who is also a massive strapping Highlander oh DARN and you are rooting for him from the beginning because he's an absolute cinnamon roll (more on that later).

Eugenia has been patiently waiting three years (!) for Phillip to set a date for their nuptials but she's kept herself busy with a covert lace-making business, giving her her OWN secret identity, dun dun dunnnn 😮 We love a crafting queen.

I forgot to mention Andrew is kind of a soft rake, has a pronounced boob obsession and falls almost immediately for Eugenia but has to fight it 🥺 There are so many cute scenes of them together, including an incendiary first kiss in an empty orchestra antechamber. He is so tender and thoughtful with her, I fell in love with him immediately.

The pacing of the romance feels a little weird, it's not a slow burn per se as the first kiss happens pretty quickly, but then there is a longggg (and I do mean long) stretch where there is absolutely no romance and it kind of killed me. Especially as it was fakeout after fakeout (they're stuck in an inn with only one bed, they're stuck on a boat, they're in a carriage, and NOTHING - y'all I was ready to peace out at this point). I was almost fearful this was going to be closed door but then the wedding night scene happened and uhh yeah, it was on page and it was HOT. Is there anything hornier than a man this far gone for his wife? Ugh 😩😭🙌 But after a total romance drought it felt really weird, like two books smooshed together - one an adventure and one a romance.

All in all I loved the love between these two, I just wish the "pushing him away" part was tightened up a bit, because he was honestly the kindest most beautiful soul and she just really made him suffer above and beyond what felt right. It started to push her dangerously close to unlikable heroine territory. He basically does nothing but help her (including taking a bullet for her, like, literally and protecting her from an attacker) and she punishes him for it at every turn. The fact that he gave her space while also loving her madly is just a testament to what a badass he is.

I LOVED THE EPILOGUE OMG

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is a fabulous story of a twin taking his brother's place for a few days and gets caught. I felt so sorry for Andrew MacGalloway in this story as he was only trying to do a good thing so Eugenia Radcliffe wouldn't get her feelings hurt when her disinterested betrothed Philip would rather see his horse race her first race over meeting her at his mother's house party. In my opinion Philip MacGalloway needs to be cut off at the knees by whoever he finally marries. Over and over again Andrew is just trying to help Eugenia be safe and successful and she won't have it. It finally takes Philip pleading his brother's case and admitting to her he, Philip was wrong, for her to soften towards Andrew. I loved this story of forgiveness and trust.

Eugenia Radcliffe is a wallflower type who's mother manipulated events so Philip MacGalloway had to propose to her three years ago. Since then she's heard nothing from him. When she finally finds herself invited to a house party given by his mother, the Dowager Duchess of Dunscaby, she knows he'll be there and hopefully get a wedding date set. She finds Philip, who's really Andrew, she finds him changed. This man is attentive, talkative and observant. She's delighted in his company and they have a delightful few days. Then suddenly he's different at dinner that night. It's Philip as they've changed places. He's buttoned up, formal and stiff in her company. The next day when she stumbles on Andrew in the nursery saying goodbye to his niece and nephew does she realize she's been duped. She immediately packs up, writes a letter to her mother telling her to say she fell off a cliff to avoid a scandal over her breaking the engagement and leaves to make her way selling the lace she makes. Andrew immediately sets out after her when he realizes she's gone.

Andrew MacGalloway is a bit of a rogue and he and his brother have been trading places for fun since childhood. When Philip asked him to do it again for their mother's house party, Andrew doesn't want to. He doesn't think it will work. Finally makes a deal he figures Philip will never agree to. When Philip does, Andrew has no choice but to make the best of the situation and try to save Philips engagement. When he meets Eugenia he finds a beautiful woman that her family puts down repeatedly. She blossoms into a wonderful woman away from her mother and society's judgment. He doesn't mean to fall in love but he does. This starts Andrew and Eugenia's journey to forgiveness, learning to accept help and trusting the other.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This story held me riveted as we actually get a very strong female lead who knows what she wants and follows her heart.
I have enjoyed the MacGalloway series thus far and this one most of all.

While she looks meek and the typical wallflower, Eugenia is anything but. Strained being under her mother's thumb and slave to her sister, Eugenia has plans for herself. She never was expected to marry Philip MacGalloway, but caught in a position, he proposed and plans were made. Now it has been three years later, and when Eugenia shows up at a house party at the MacGalloway's she senses Philip is quite different than what she thought.
Posing as his brother who had run off to a horserace, Andrew MacGalloway can't leave the poor woman distraught and alone, especially when a date for the wedding is expected any day. So he goes along with his twin brother's scheme to impersonate him. But good-hearted Andrew comes to realize there is so much more to this woman than anyone thought.
But Eugenia just wants to live her life alone and find her own way as a lacemaker. When the ruse is up, it gives her the perfect catalyst to light the fire within and set out on her own.
There's just one small problem... her heart is still back at Stack Castle with a very handsome Highlander.

I commend the author for giving us a strong female who is smart and capable and does find her way. Even if a certain Highlander guardian angel keeps watching over her. To me this book would have been even better if the typical romance ending did not happen. While I dont want to give too much away, I will say this book up until the very end is very clean. The storyline and writing carry it and I did not miss the typical graphic romance (and I usually love that!). Eugenia and Andrew have a very slow-burn romance and truthfully there needed to be just a little bit more of it. I felt Andrew's feelings towards her but I didnt feel Eugenia's even wrapped up in her rage. So when the ending came it was almost a letdown because I feel she caved in a bit and changed her mind very quickly. I did however love the epilogue. So I am a bit torn.
But overall, it was enjoyable and a memorable story.

Kissing the Highland Twin by Amy Jarecki
The MacGalloways 4

Not sure why memories of The Patty Duke Show popped up as I read this story, but they did. Perhaps it is the twin-lookalike thing even though Patty and her cousin were identical and not siblings. Perhaps it was their age that kept me from thinking first of the movie The Parent Trap. For whatever reason…I enjoyed both the show and movie and this book, too.

A game of chess, a wager, and twins swapping places is a setup for disaster and we know that going in but just how the disaster will play out and how all will be resolved is what this story is all about. Twins can look alike, might be able to play the part of one another for a limited period of time, would more than likely want to support one another, but when a woman and love enter the situation…hmm…

Philip is serious, reserved, horse-mad, a numbers guy, and probably will change a LOT if/when he finally truly falls in love. I do wonder what type of woman will appeal to him. Perhaps a horse-made female but then again, I am sure we will find out in his book when it is written.

Andrew is outgoing, a people pleaser, observant, and social. He truly ‘sees’ Eugenia and begins to fall for her even though he is trying to just play the part of his brother for a few days. The two brothers are close but perhaps not as close as they could be…I would like to know more about them and what their lives were like before this story begins.

Eugenia is quiet, tries to avoid confrontation, is undervalued by her mother and younger sister, and has dreams that she hopes to fulfill. She is unsure of Philip’s desire to marry and is setting up options for herself…just in case. I admired her for her willingness to step out on her own but wonder if she too readily made her move and might have benefited by a bit of talking before walking.

The disaster created by stepping into his brother’s shoes is eventually resolved and a happy ending is achieved, but the brothers are both put through a bit of trouble before everything turns out right for the happy couple.

Thank you to NetGalley, Oliver Heber Books, and the author for the ARC – this is my honest review.

Kissing The Highland Twin
The MacGalloways #4
Amy Jarecki
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lord Andrew MacGalloway has agreed to attend a house party, posing as his twin, and even though he does it with good intentions, it still doesn't feel like he's doing the right thing. After all, it wouldn't be fair to his brothers fiancé if he didn't do it and backed out too. This may be an inconvenience, but he fully intends to make the whole event pleasant for Miss Eugenia Radcliff by engaging her in idle chat, long, chaperoned walks, and dancing the proper number of waltzes.

What he didn't intend was for things to turn out the way they did. I mean, even identical twins are not exact replicas of one another.

When Eugenia Radcliff discovers that Andrew is not his brother Phillip and therefore not the man she is betrothed to, she is humiliated and totally distraught. Prior to arriving at the party, she figured her fiancé would not honor his promise of marriage as she had not heard from him for a long time, but now she has proof.

After some quick thinking and feeling like she has no other choice, Eugenia renounces the engagement and leaves since she is unable to remain in Scotland a moment longer. By this time, Andrew feels like a cad and totally responsible for this new turn of events and races after her, determined to save her from ruin. But does this woman who has been terribly hurt want to be rescued by the dashing highlander, or does she have other plans in mind? Plans that will make her happy.

Amy Jarecki is absolutely marvelous. This book grabbed me and pulled me in hook, line, and sinker. I swear every word had me hanging on for dear life until the next. I was really hoping that she would find out about Andrew and be happy it was him. I never knew what would happen next. Would he be found out, or would he get away with pretending to be his brother longer. The two main characters were meant for each other, and all I could do was hope that they realized it before it was too late. This book was rich with historical facts, and I could envision everything as I read it. All in all I would definitely recommend this book because it is fabulous. Ms. Jarecki is such a talented author.

Having your identical twin take your place to greet your betrothed. What could go wrong?

I found this story delightful and believable!! My husband has identical twin sisters who were difficult for family to tell them apart. They switched places for tests during college so they only had to study for one test and loved fooling everyone so this story struck home for me.

I loved Eugenia from the very beginning. She had patience and was sadly under the thumb of a very strict and protective mother who would stop at nothing to see her daughters married well. But there comes a time when you have to take a stand for yourself and make decisions that make you happy, even if it means risking the outcome. Her betrothed is different from what she remembers, perhaps the three year's time she'd spent waiting for him to set a date had changed him. She liked the new gentleman he'd become.

Andrew lost a game of chess to his twin who made a wager that he would go to their mother's house party to greet his betrothed in his stead for a couple days so he could go to a horserace. Andrew didn't want to do it so he upped the ante by winning his brother's prize horse for doing this favor. What he hadn't expected was the feelings he had for Eugenia after only being in her presence for a couple days. His brother must be blind or cold not to see the beauty before him. But like most ruses, this one came to light by the intelligent Eugenia who had figured things out. After being completely humiliated she broke the engagement and ran away to start a life for herself. She'd wanted that anyway.

The best part of this story is the chase! Andrew could not allow her to take off alone without a maid or an escort so he dashed after her. I was gifted with an ARC and wanted to post my thought on this delightful, heartfelt story.

Kissing the Highland Twin by Amy Jarecki is a Regency-type novel with a twist. Ever since they were children, only a few people could tell Phillip and Andrew apart. Their personalities were extremely different but they look identical. Phillip wanted to see one of his horses race at the same time he was supposed to be at his mother’s house party, spending time with the fiancee he had had for three years and never seen again after he proposed and he wanted Andrew to pretend to be him. Andrew wanted no part of it so he made a bet that he knew Phillip would refuse, but Phillip didn’t. In the few days they spent together, Andrew fell in love with Eugenia, as Phillip. She discovered it when she made an unscheduled visit to the nursery and Phillip’s and Andrew’s nephew was one of the few people who could tell them apart. As one might imagine, it didn’t go well. She ran. He followed her.

Eugenia made lace, good lace, and she wanted to try to make a living doing that. She never could to that as a wife, but she had a plan. Andrew surreptitiously helped her but it was interesting to watch her struggle. So many people who have wealth believe they can lived without money. It was harder than it looked. She did manage to get her business off the ground because she was a stubborn, well-written character who showed grit and courage. Andrew, unlike most men, realized he had to back off and so he did. It was a clever plot and although the conclusion was pretty much assured, there were plenty of twists and tuns to keep it interesting. A good book,.

The MacGalloways series, book #4 begins with twins Philip and Andrew plotting to switch places so Philip may go off to a horse race, missing the arrival of his betrothed when she arrives for a house party being thrown at their estate.
Eugenia is nervous and unsure of her engagement to Philip, having only met him once over 3 years ago when he was forced to ask for her hand to avoid scandal and her ruination.
Andre, reluctantly agrees to take Philips place, meeting Eugenia as Philip. As he entertains his brother's young fiance' he becomes increasingly uncomfortable with the ruse he is engaged in, especially after sharing a very hot, very forbidden kiss with Eugenia.
This was a very sweet, heart-touching romance. Philip is a cad, but Andrew more than makes up for his brother's shortcomings. Andrew is a perfect swoon worthy hero whom you can't help but fall in love with.
I liked the two leading characters, but Eugenia's sister and mother, I would have loved to smack both of them. Callous, Shallow, social climbers who cared nothing about Eugenia's feelings throughout. I could not stand them.
Overall a good, fast reading, characters that make you feel and a good plot-everything you need in a historical romance.
I will give 4 stars and recommend. Thank you to Oliver Heber Books and to Net Galley for the free ARC, I am leaving my honest review voluntarily. .

When Lord Andrew MacGalloway agrees to attend a house party, posing as his twin, he does not realise the events that will transpire despite his good intentions. After spending time with Miss Eugenia Radcliffe, he seen finds himself captivated yet struggling to separate his feelings for her to doing what is right for his brother. When Eugenia discovers that Andrew is not the man to whom she is betrothed, she is humiliated and distraught. She flees Scotland, telling her mother that she can plan her demise, determined to be free from everyone. Yet Andrew is also determined that Eugenia will be found but he just needs to convince her that his feelings for her were real.
Andrew was such a contrast to his brother, that it was easy to understand how Eugenia was captivated from the start, and mortified that she was played for a fool. Her response to his behaviour is dramatic but in doing so, so her strong nature and determination to seek her own future. The journey that this couple has to go through is intense, and at times, I felt that Eugenia was a bit too stubborn or that Andrew was a very patient man.

Twins but not in heart

Andrew and Eugenia are quite a pair you really don't see coming! Eugenia has been betrothed for 3 years! Long tortuous years ignored by Philip her fiance! She has finally been invited to an event and she must bring him up to scratch! Finally set a date!
But Philip has more important matters and sends Andrew after much cajoling in his stead. Surely he with the knowledge of the family pull this off! The truth couldn't possibly come out. Eugenia is a lowly Miss and certainly no beauty!!!
Andrew finds Miss Eugenia is nothing like he suspected and so much more than he or his brother could deserve! But when the ruse is up and Eugenia is humiliated what can she do?
Run away and never see the MacGalloway family again! When Andrew gives chase well they land in all sorts of mishaps! Eugenia is not equipped for real life entrepreneurship!
Slowly she is starting to realize what a gorgeous rich handsome Highlander he is! But is it too late? She has said many mean things to him? Would he want to come to tea?
Well you have to read to find out why tea invitation is so important!?? Bravo..now Philip needs a story!

There were times when I couldn't decide whether this novel was a comedy or a tragedy, and actually found the perfect description in Tragicommedy! I felt quite indignant that Miss Eugenia Radcliffe's fiancé of over 3 years could fob her off to follow his own pursuits, sending his twin brother in to hold his place. Certainly, when the farce was uncovered, neither Lord Andrew nor Lord Philip could have anticipated how much damage they had done. I found her mother and sister's attitude to the whole debacle even worse. However, Miss Radcliffe is made of sterner stuff and she determines not to allow the rascal twins to unseat her and sets off to make her own way. Andrew, fortunately, comes to his senses and even though he sets out to find her and keep her safe, he discovers that the lady is not easily appeased. Fortunately, the novel comes to a sweet and romantic conclusion with Eugenia holding the winning hand. I received a copy of this well-written and entertaining romance, a copy of which I received as a gift from BookSprout and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This is Book 4 of The MacGalloways series and it was such fun to read. Andrew and Philip are twins and have switched places over the years to suit their purposes. Philp is betrothed to Eugenia and she will be at the house party their mother is throwing. They have been engaged for three years and he has effectively neglected that betrothal until now and has no intention of acting the part of fiance. When Andrew loses a bet to his brother, he has to now pretend to be Philip and take his place and entertain Eugenia while she is visiting. And so the fun begins!
I really liked seeing the relationship that developed between Andrew and Eugenia and how protective he became of her. This was an entertaining and well-written story and I enjoyed it from start to finish. The characters were well fleshed out and likeable and I enjoyed getting to know them and following their story. A lovely addition to the series!

Her Dream vs His Desire

I love a strong Highlander with a romantic heart. Which is why I loved Sir Andrew MacGalloway. He was all that his identical twin was not.

I also love a strong heroine, and for the most part, Miss Eugenia Radcliffe was strong, when she wasn't being a bit unreasonable.

In addition to likable characters, Kissing the Highland Twin also had what began as a predictable plot, but the author, Amy Jarecki, tossed in a couple of twists, which made the story even better.

This well written tale would have been perfect if the pace had not slowed somewhere in the middle, but it did pick up speed toward the sweet and romantic ending, which was followed by an even sweeter smile-worthy epilogue.

Content 411: In addition to some mild swearing, this book also has an on-screen marital bedroom scene.

This regency book has a sweet quality which pulls at your heart. It will put a smiling on your face. It was heartfelt the interaction between Eugenia and Andrew. Basically, Eugenia is engaged for 3 years to Andrew twin Phillip. They switch places so Phillip can go to the horseraces. It was a bet gone wrong because while most of his family can’t tell the difference between the twins someone observant like Eugenia can. Like most things, the ruse is uncovered. There is a mad dash for forgiveness. It pulls at your heart strings. It deals with emotions and expectations of societal roles of men, women, rich, and poor. I like the POV of both H&H. I did enjoy this book and look forward to going back and reading the other books. It can be a stand-alone book or read in the series. I would recommend this book and the author.

A Ruse, Devotion, Independence:
The twins Phillip and Amdrew are playing a ruse on Eugenia who happens to be Phillips betrothed. The deception takes us into a romance that was charming, sweet, humorous, and filled with desire, until the ruse was discovered.
Somewhat predictable romance but Andrew and Eugenias journey to happiness takes us through a whirlwind of emotions. Eugenia is really strong-minded lady.
An intriguing story of two different classes of people. Eugenias fight for her independence and Andrew's devotion to give her everything she wanted and guide her was beautiful but that also bothered me. He gave up everything for her and she didn't give anything up and got what she wanted. My slant on Eugenia's behavior was one sided.  He did get a new family in the end.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy for my honest opinion.

This was such a wonderful story to read and although I felt bad for both Andrew and Eugenia and the position they found themselves in, it all ended up for the better.

Andrew agrees to pretend to be his identical twin brother when Philip's betrothed, Eugenia, comes to visit but little does he realize the mess they'll be in when he starts falling for her and when she finds out their duplicity!! Of course she's hurt but it also makes her decide to finally take control of her life and make it on her own. Andrew runs after her but he realizes he has to let her follow her dreams. How to convince her, though, that they belong together?

I love it when an author includes a beloved animal in the story and this one has a big loveable deerhound:)
