Sandra Kemaro is a 48-year-old Dominant who knows what she wants. She likes men who can shut up and obey, and she won’t play with inexperienced subs… until she meets a 23-year-old mechanic from the wrong side of town. Trevor doesn’t know a thing about BDSM, but Sandra senses his submissive side from the moment they first meet. She’s never trained a sub before, and she doubts she has the patience, but for Trevor, she’s willing to give it a try to show him what he’s been missing.
Trevor Weismann has never been in a relationship. Between working at his father’s garage and taking care of his mother, he doesn’t have time for one. But when a gorgeous big-shot editor gets stranded at the garage, Trevor is instantly attracted to her no-nonsense demeanor. Sandra takes an interest in him too, to his surprise, but when she offers to show him her lifestyle, he’s torn about getting involved. Cars, he knows. Kinky shit? Not so much. For Sandra though, he’s willing to try just about anything once.
This book is part of a series that should be read in order, but Show Me can be read as a standalone romance.
Mx. Alex (they/them) has been writing since childhood. Though their taste in literature varies, they're always drawn to a good gay love story. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Alex strives to bring more diversity into the world through their books. Most of their stories also include BDSM elements that are as sexy as they are safe, sane, and consensual.
**Please practice safe kink**
Alex lives in a small town in rural Pennsylvania with their partner and their two dogs. When not writing, they enjoy camping, skiing, and going to the movies for date night. They also like to play board games, video games, and D&D with friends.
This is one of the best femdom and older MFC books I've ever read. PLEASE do not let the fact that it's written in 3rd person turn you off!! Like most, 3rd POV is not my cup of tea either but sometimes if the tropes, themes, relationship dynamics all align you just have to take it in stride, cause if not you will miss out on a phenomenal book.
This book is incredible unique in that it has two endings. This is not a spoiler as the author straight up states the fact in the beginning of the book. You can either read this book up until the epilogue and let Trevor and Sandra have their HEA, if that's good for you...If you are happy to do so. Or you can read the epilogue and see that there is a character death and that book two will be MM with Trevor and another man from this universe. I think the way the author did the death was gentle but also completely obvious so as not to completely blindside the readers. It's pretty clear who the other MMC will be in book two and I for one love the pairing.
I think the book is special in a way that it's just showcasing life. Sometimes people or a person come into your life and completely turn it upside down. That's what Sandra did for Trevor. She took him under her wing, guided him, opened him up to the world of k*nk and loved him. But sometimes things happen in life that isn't right and isn't fair, but you have to move on eventually. I think the pairing in book two will be perfect cause they were both important to Sandra and they will keep her memory alive and continue to love her even though she's gone.
Ok, Ok, I could gush about this book all day, but you should do yourself a favor and READ THIS BOOK!
I read the author’s warning for this one, and I seriously considered stopping before the epilogue. That was my original plan. But by the time I got there… well, let’s be honest. You know what’s going to happen. So you might as well let it hurt, right? Oh, this one hurt. It hurt in the best ways and the worst ways. Loss of a hero and loss of genuine, true love always will. But this wasn’t a story that could be fudged or fixed or made “happier” without doing the characters a discredit. I’ll admit, although I loved this story, the major plot points weren’t a surprise. I figured out the “bad guy” pretty quickly, and I saw the epilogue coming from the first chapter. That’s not a bad thing – if anything it added to the tension of the story. And if you know me at all, I frickin’ love tension. There were a few parts that dragged a little, but they were short, and worth it. Overall, I loved this book. The world building was just enough that I want the rest of the character’s stories. The characters were real people. The power exchange was delicious, and the representation was good and educational without turning into an instruction manual. I have a lot of respect for Mx Alex for writing this story, and am sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation of part 2.
Mx Alex listen here. I just wasn't ready to cry. First and foremost, thank you for the warning. But excuse me. EXCUSE ME?! It was a severe understatement. This book had ME in love. This book was so well written. Here I am. An hour later. And I can hardly breathe. I am absolutely shattered. And I don't think I'm going to be okay tomorrow.
But. This book was absolutely amazing. I can't wait to stop crying enough to leave a review.
Oh, and until I read the next book, I'm not entirely convinced you're not a monster. 🤷🏼♀️
I almost never start a book with a cliffhanger until the rest of the series is out. However, this one just hit too many buttons for me to wait!
This was one of the most captivating and beautifully written stories I’ve read this year. Trevor and Sandra’s connection palpable from their first interaction and remains strong throughout their journey. Their scenes together were extraordinary from the basic introductions to the more hardcore activities. The author does a great job showcasing safety and trust in a Dom/sub relationship.
Something I loved about this book was the two endings. The author marks the point where these two get a happy ending without an epilogue. However, if you’re a sucker for hurting your own feelings like I am, there’s a not so happy ending for the couple. Despite it being sad, this ending is worth the tears.
To say I loved this book would be an understatement. This book was absolute perfection and I enjoyed every moment. Even though the epilogue was clearly meant to rip your heart out (It was optional and I could have stopped at the HEA), I still have no complaints.
I love that this author manages to create the perfect balance of spice and plot, all led by amazingly crafted characters. They honestly have created the perfect book recipe and I can't wait to get my hands on more of their books.
This book is incredibly well written for what it is. BDSM heavy plot line with intense amounts of adult content. Worth peeking at triggers if that is something you need to do.
I know a lot of you like to check reviews for trigger warnings, and since Show Me is still currently up for pre-order with no way to check the author's note in the preview, I figured I would list them here for you all for your convenience. If you have no triggers or would rather avoid soft spoilers, please feel free to skip this entirely.
This is Show Me's content warning as it is listed in the book:
This book contains content that may be considered offensive or disturbing to some readers. This book is for sale to adults only. Please store where it cannot be accessed by under-aged readers.
Show Me has two endings: a HEA one for readers who would like to read this story as a standalone with no plans to read the sequel (book 2 is an MM romance), and the true ending, which does NOT have a HEA! The alternate, standalone ending is marked for readers who wish to stop there. For readers who plan to read book 2, continue the story for the true ending, but please be aware that this couple does NOT get a happily ever after.
Seriously, this book will break your heart. You’ve been warned.
The following is a list of the content included in Show Me (mild spoilers ahead): orgasm control, spanking, cropping, bondage, forced orgasm, prostate massage, butt plugs, pegging, MM play, exhibitionism, belting, Dom drop, sub drop, submissive training, punishment, group sex, assault, domestic violence, alcoholism, stalking, attempted murder, gun violence, severe poverty, PTSD, cancer, and character death.
Also, the dog does not die. I’m not a total monster.
No rating because I didn't make it past the Author's Note. Why in the world would anyone want to read a romance where the author explicitly tells you that if you read the next book in the series you'll see that this couple DOES NOT HAVE A HAPPILY EVER AFTER?! Oh, and it will supposedly "break your heart."
Let me begin by mentioning that the trigger warnings at the book's introduction are there for a good purpose. Do not overlook them! Second, pay attention to the warning regarding the conclusion. Stop where it instructs you to stop, don't pass go, and don't take the $200 if you want the happy ending. I just spent the last hour hiding in my bathroom crying my eyes out because of that finale, so believe me when I say that. You'll cry for all the right reasons because of it. I won't give any more away.
I can only say that the characters are captivating, beautifully written, and vividly shown in the text. At first, Sandra can be difficult to adore, but don't let that deter you. A no nonsense sort of woman who knows what she wants, how she wants it and when she wants it, if Mistress lets you have it that is. She is written in such a way that by Chapter Three, you can't help but fall in love with her. You can't help but start chatting to this character in the hopes that she will listen. I wish I were joking. She feels that real.
Trevor However, as soon as you meet him and his dog Mick, you can't help but fall in love. Every time something happened to that young man, something in me as a reader pounded. Because of the way he was written, it would take a monster not to love him. The antagonists in this book took a while to find but once they reveal themselves, be prepared to grab the tissues, a drink and you had better hit the restroom because I can guarantee you are not moving from where you sat down to read till you are done with the book. You're kept on the edge of your seat despite how quickly it travels!
For someone who has been a part of that community for a long time, the sex scenes, particularly those involving the BDSM community, are well researched, well written, and they are shown in a way that exemplifies the communities "Safe, Sane, and Consensual." message. Which makes this different from many BDSM stories I've read because it's a message repeated throughout the book in subtle and not so subtle ways.
Overall, it's an excellent read, well written and imaginative. This book will make you cry, keep you turning the pages, and probably compel you to read more of Mx. Alex's book, I know I do!
Show Me by Mx Alex: an unexpectedly deep dive into the intricacies of safe BDSM beautifully interwoven with a rollercoaster of emotion.
I have to admit, as someone who often reads BDSM-centered erotica, I was fully expecting to cringe at and begrudgingly look past some bad mannered dynamics - as is sadly too common in these types of works - just to be able to indulge in the juicy bits. What I was overjoyed to find though, was this rich portrayal of healthy as well as unhealthy dynamics within this kind of play.
With the detailed picture Mx Alex was able to paint of establishing a consensual relationship between Dominant and submissive, I was eager to see the resolution to every obstacle the pair encountered during their journey of exploration.
This book's later half had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The pacing was incredible and although some plot points were very expected, there were still moments that had me dropping my jaw and staring into thin air in utter shock.
That said, I still gave this book four stars, since for some reason before I got to the climax of the work (pun not intended), I struggled finding motivation to read.
I believe the biggest issue I took with this book was it's inconsistency with keeping up with it's characters. I feel some important people that were established earlier in the work somehow got lost between the pages, or were mentioned and never got a chance in the spotlight.
It's very likely I will sooner or later decide to re-read Show Me, so my rating might change, but for now the imprint the novel left me with fits four stars perfectly and I am ecstatic at the promise of a sequel.
The chemistry between Sandra and Trevor is so good. I loved this story so much. And like the masochist that I am I read both endings and I loved them both. I love Trevor and Sandra so much, their both so easy to love.
They way Trevor grew up was something I've seen in my life. When people don't have privilege's like Sandra, they get mischaracterized as bad, or not smart enough, or not hard working enough. And most of the time it's not the case, it's usually the circumstances that life gave them.
I feel like the BDSM community was represented well, I am not in the community, at least not contractually. But as Trevor says, I like kinky sh*t. When people don't understand things it scares them and they say and do mean and hurtful things. I feel like this was represented so well in the book also.
The way Sandra is so understanding and accepting makes me so emotional. I wish more people with money and power in real life gave people actual chances like she does.
I'm so excited for the next book! .
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received this as an ARC Review and this is my honest opinion, both times.
I read this late last year and used my other account to review this, and sadly have lost the password so here we go again. Amazon Review can be read Here under the name Spooky Owl
But I want to say I have read it again since then. Let me say my opinion has not changed. It still brings absolute tears to my eyes and frankly, if you want a book that will keep you going till the end. This is one that will.
Trigger Warnings are there for a reason. Also when he gives you the option to keep going or stop, choose wisely. Spoiler ahead.
I would read this again and again. Because the greatest thing any author can do is make us feel and this book makes you feel, a lot.

I have laughed, cried, and gotten angry with Trevor and Sandra for the last 24 hours. I knew from the authors note that I would get incredibly attached to the characters only to have my heart ripped out by the end. I went ahead and read the epilogue because I fully plan to read the next book.
Maaaaan that epilogue came from out of NOWHERE! I’m still crying, and I finished Show Me five minutes ago!
I love that this book shows actual proper representation of the bee dee s em lifestyle. It’s not often that a book is so accurate. I can count on one hand just how many authors take the time to research or actually live the life themselves.
I loved every minute of Show Me. Even if the epilogue broke me. I look forward to book two
I’d seen this book recommended a lot and finally took the plunge. I’m kicking myself for waiting so because it has it has all the spice and plot I love in a book combined with a mature female Domme and younger male sub who’s new to the lifestyle. Trevor is young man who’s been trapped in the vicious cycle of his family’s alcoholism and abuse while Sandra is a strong mature woman who was introduced to the BDSM lifestyle a bit later in life. The relationship development between these two is so beautifully written and more true to life than most BDSM romance stories I’ve read. But Sandra not only helps Trevor explore his sexuality but also shows him his true potential in life and pushes him to set and achieve goals. The kinky spice scenes are plentiful and off the charts hot but also full of emotional vulnerability as the two fall for each other. I absolutely loved Trevor’s and Sandra’s journey but heed the author’s note about the ending. It is an amazing stand alone with an HEA if you stop BEFORE the epilogue. I won’t add anything else to avoid spoilers but if you read the epilogue, go into it knowing part 2 of Trevor’s story isn’t out yet.
I’ve read many books about female dominants but this one by far was the most realistic. Most bdsm books have this fake feel, no communication and the dom magically knows the sub’s boundaries if they have any at all. This book was two people, real and raw, consenting adults who communicated and loved eachother. Though I’m sad it ended the way it did, I think the author made a choice to open it to another story. I wish they hadn’t but I’m glad I got to read the story while it lasted. Not all stories have a happy ending and that’s okay. That’s real life. Will definitely be reading more from this author.
Wowwwwwww. Read this in less than 48 hours. This was one I absolutely couldn’t put down.
I’m usually into rom-com spice - this was a little different, incorporating BDSM. I hadn’t read anything like this before, but I was pleasantly surprised by the PERFECT blend of spice and plot. It wasn’t all raunch- the story was incredible and I felt like I really knew the characters. The exchange of power and tension was felt through each word on the page. This normally wouldn’t have been something I would pick up - but I did as a recommendation from a friend and I am so glad. Definitely 5 stars!
I’ll give this a 3. I’m more of the male being the dom. Also I’m not a fan of how this was written, it seemed like it was third person written but kind of in their mind and it would switch up on us literally mid paragraph sometimes. It was hard to keep up with. To be honest I preferred Trevor with Roy and the few MM scenes there are in here are hot af! I like Trevor’s story of his abusive dad and alcoholic mom it a good feeling reading about his mom getting cleaned. I couldn’t stop there so I have to read the next one!

I loved this book. Loved the fact that it had the warnings in the begining (so you can prepare yourself if you choose to go for the whole story), and the fact that it still allows you a happy ending. You can kind of see where the epilogue will take you, but can also choose to stop before it and get a great story. I am very interested to see the second book and how it all works out. The BDSM was *chef's kiss* and executed so well. I'm looking forward to reading more of the author's work (and excited to see MM from them)
**I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily**
O.M.G....
While I was disappointed with the epilogue, I'm excited for the next book!!!
This was so well written. Damn! 😅. Alex, bravo 👏🏻👏🏻
The chemistry between Trevor & Sandra was incredibly well written, and so were the naughty scenes. I'm so happy Trevor got a second chance. The scene with them and her lawyer...wow 😍. I want to say more but I'll spoil stuff 😂
Great Domme. It's nice to read a strong female lead. I always love a book when the dom is the one to safeword out. While most of the book is mf there are some mm and mmf scenes that are well done. Read the author's note in the beginning if you want a HEA. Honestly, the true "ending" was hinted at throughout the story. And like they said in their note....atleast the dog doesn't die.

I received this book as an ARC. Amazing! If you love a very dominant woman and her misunderstood sub this book is gonna “Hit” all the right spots. BDSM so check your TW’s. This book was extremely well done. Gave me chills during some parts…loved it. Had a HEA but also and ending for the second book.
I cannot wait to read the next part of Trevor's story! If you enjoy dark, controlling BDSM this is the book for you. The scenes are fire and the story behind the kink will keep you on the edge of your seat. Sit back and enjoy the hottest, most sultry story out there!
My favorite thing about BDSM is honestly exploration. And this book was great at giving Trevor an opportunity to explore and learn and grow. The author was great at showing highs and lows of both submission and dominance.
I wish we had more of Roy hahaha! Book 2! Fingers crossed!
Spiccccy! It did feel a little rushed and it didn’t go too deep into character plots. Wish I would have known more about the Mother in the story. This paints a better picture than 50 shades did in 3 books. That epilogue tho. Was notttt expecting to get my heart ripped out in a story like this. Looking forward to the second book.
You want spice and a emotional plot. This book is for you. This book got my attention and held it till the end. An the ending, there’s two options, a happily ever after or a not so happy ever after. If you want happily ever after and don’t plan on reading the series don’t read the epilogue.
Adored this book, the high and lows were beautifully done, with a deep dive into the community! Loved this comes with two ending and I'm already chomping at the hit for number 2! Stay safe and consensual all 😘
I loved this book so much!! The more I read the more I got dragged in. I spent hours at night staying up way to late reading it. I can’t wait for the next book. I shouldn’t have read the alternative ending though.😭Now to wait for what happens next.
Ugh, loved every single bit of this book!!🤤 4 stars only bc I wish there was a little more to the story with Chelsea and it didn’t feel so rushed as they wrapped that part up. The epilogue hit hard and fast, so definitely need to read pt. 2!!
