When Guy Bodie hears that one of his oldest friends has been murdered whilst on a relic hunting assignment, he knows he can’t let it lie. Bodie and his team travel to Whitby, UK, to take up the hunt and find themselves embroiled in a deadly mission, pitted against a terrible global enemy known as the Order of Mammon.
Tracking down age-old clues that will lead them to the Crown of a Thousand Jewels, a thousand dead generals, and the ancient body of Mammon himself, Bodie chases across the globe, from Hastings to York, to old, abandoned houses in France and the world’s oldest casino in Romania, confronted at every turn by the deadly order and its acolytes.
But, as hard as their trek seems, they haven’t seen the worst of it yet. The twisting trail finally leads them into the Amazon rainforest, forcing them to confront all its sprawling, countless dangers if they are to find the city ruins lost in antiquity, if they are to beat the Order of the Mammon to the greatest prize of all.

The City of a Thousand Ghosts - a review by Rosemary Kenny.
According to the Bible, Mammon was a senior demon and his living embodiment, (with the same name) was slain in battle and buried with a fabled artefact, before being lost to memory.
Guy Bodie, his girlfriend Heidi, Cassidy, Yasmine, Lucy, Jemma, form a team of international treasure-hunters. When they learn of a friend's murder while hunting the lost crown, they vow to complete his quest and seek vengeance on his killers - but are soon in grave danger themselves. Who are the Order of Mammon? Where will the team start their mission...and through how many dire situations will they struggle, as they try to stay one fight ahead of Mammon's henchmen?
Relic Hunters #9 by David Leadbeater, The City of a Thousand Ghosts is an unputdownable, sure-fire winner in the action-mystery-thriller genre. Grab your copy, (and a crucifix) today!
The City of a Thousand Ghosts, the latest in The Relic Hunters series by David Leadbeater. This series follows the exploits of Guy Bodie and friends who are a group of thieves, historians and CIA agents as they rediscover lost relics around the globe, and encounter a whole lot of enemies. The premise is far fetched and unrealistic, but if you’re into this kind of book, a mixture of fantasy, action and team work, then it’s not a bad series. Personally I prefer Leadbeaters Matt Drake series as I find the characters much more interesting than The Relic Hunters, but as an easy read (and one that is usually found on Kindle Unlimited) these are worth a read
Another fabulously fun adventure with The Relic Hunters! I’ve been a fan of this series since the beginning, and this book, the ninth in the series, definitely does not disappoint. From the civilization of Europe to the jungles of South America, the Relic Hunters are off on a world changing adventure.
But the danger was even worse, following the clues fighting for their lives you have to wonder will it all be worth it. Its all about greed and gluttony people who think money can buy them anything. A run for your lives with danger on every page well recommend
Overall I liked the story but again it started with the death of some random 'old friend' of Guy's being killed. I think the relic hunters would be more interested in pursuing relics without someone being killed. The Order of Mammon is a bit reminiscent of the Illuminati storyline but it was an entertaining read nonetheless.
This chapter of the Relic hunters was excellent. Reminded me of when they were being hunted by Illuminati. But Bodie and company stayed ahead of the pursues and found Mammon and the crown of jewels. Excellent adventure especially with out Pang. 10 stars plus!!!! Thanks Carl Clause
Another great read by David. The way he describes the action, which there is plenty of, has you sat on the edge of your seat with your heart racing, and makes you feel that you are there with the team.
This was a slower start than usual, but it picked up steam, as in the heat and rain of the Amazon jungle. Certainly lived up to expectations of a Relic Hunter story.
Bodie and the girls venture reading clues from various places. The clues lead them to the Amazon where they meet Reilly. The trip through the Amazon jungle gives one the idea of what it is like. Being the Relic Hunters they find a hidden treasure.
Another great read following the Relic Hunters around the world , this time with/or without the interference of the CIA (depending on how you look at it. )
I loved this book out on their own and relic hunting the jungles sounded like a hel l of a place to be. I get a feeling reilly could be good as a new team member he caught well with them. I was reading and got cold shivers myself with the caves sounded nightmareish. Can't wait to read more adventures of the relic hunters.
