Stuck Between Two Lives is a stand-alone story and is the seventh book in the "Stuck" series. The series feature adventure stories that blend fiction with actual events and people to create an enjoyable and informative read full of drama with a sprinkling of humour.
Like all of the books in the series, Stuck Between Two Lives can be enjoyed by children 8+, but adults will have a fun read too! If you enjoy books like 'The Secret Lake' by Karen Inglis or 'The Time Hunters Saga' by Carl Ashmore, you will love this story.
I live in a charming little town in Rutland, England’s smallest county—a setting that closely mirrors the world of my new cozy murder mystery series, The Shepton Rise Murders.
Before becoming a writer, I had a career as a textile designer and lectured in printed textiles at various UK art schools and universities. Eventually, I left it all behind in search of new adventures.
My writing journey began with the Stuck series, a historical time-travel adventure inspired by the kinds of stories I would have loved as a child. Next came The Rebel Runaways, a Victorian alternative history trilogy with a dash of Steampunk.
Now, I’ve pivoted once again and discovered a real passion for crafting cozy murder mysteries. The first four books in the series have been published, and I am currently mulling over ideas for the next one.
really enjoyed this book. In fact just wow! With the addition of two new characters the author has certainly stepped it up a gear in excitement, adventure and mystery. I read it in two days because I couldn't put it down, you could even say I got stuck. In this adventure with six people time traveling we jump to a number of different era's and locations but I love how the author connects them all together and also paints a very vivid picture of what it was like. With so much going on it never got boring or even confusing. I liked the introduction of the new characters and hope this won't be there only adventure with the Baxter siblings because with there home life drama it added to the story. I know this book is targeted for a younger age group but I think it would appeal to a much wider audience. I like all the quirky moments, names or situations from history that he can fit into one book. So buckle up and enjoy another adventure through time with a very talented and well researched author. With the death of an elderly relative the Baxter siblings discover cousin's in need of there's and Uncle Archie's special help. The time machine known as Big Bessie has all the children traveling backwards in time to help there future. Can they help Lenny escape a gang? And Janie a life on the streets? In order to do so the children will have to help people from the past and find the missing artefacts for the museum to help Lucy stay in the present
Audiobook: I enjoyed this story a lot. A couple of new characters have joined the Baxter family on their time travelling adventures, and they were a delightful addition. I appreciated that the author combined actual events and people into this very creative story. I'm looking forward to more stories involving these characters and their adventures in the past. Rachel Laurence's narration was entertaining, and her performance provided the right ambiance for the setting. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
Another well worth read in the series, this time jumping between time zones to try and solve various puzzles , interesting and educational in that it gives the reader insights into history, highly recommended and very enjoyable.
I will always love these books! I don’t know how these books get better and better, this one was full of time travel. The Baxter children, and some other new characters, explored quite a few places in this instalment and also met some significant people as well. I was amazed by how much content was in this book, I also loved the inclusion of the images and drawings!
This book follows a similar plot to the previous books about the Baxter children travelling back in time to fulfil the requests of their Uncles time machine. I found this one featured much more time travel which was very exciting. We went to so many eras and so many historical figures. This book however includes more family members, we get to meet Jaine and Lenny who are cousins of the Baxter family. I enjoyed reading about them and seeing how they reacted to the time machine. I will always love the Baxter children and Uncle Archie!
With the inclusion of the two characters, I felt we got so much more content and a lot of adventure. The plot flowed well with the rest of the series and I’m looking forward to more Stuck adventures. This book can be read as a standalone but it is part of a series. I do like how the author incorporates introductions for the characters and world they live in into the story, it makes it easy to remember what has happened previously.
Overall, this was another great addition to the Stuck series and I’m looking forward to what will happen in the next instalment.
