'Remember this night. If you ever make any attempt to get our son, I will kill the child right in front of your eyes, and then I will kill you.'
The words of her husband rang in her ears. Who could she tell? Who could she trust? Who could help her?
Mary had a problem. A big problem. Her child has been abducted by its father. Not an unusual problem perhaps, but when the father is a Columbian drug baron, you are in way over your head.
And when you are in way over your head you get Jimmy. Jimmy and Richie can probably get you out. And with these odds, you're very, very glad they're on your side.
An extraordinary story of just how far one ordinary woman had to go to save her child, to overcome her own terror, and pay any price.
George Elliot is an Aussie writer. I haven't got Final Custody, but I have another one of his called Terminal Greed which was great. A good expose of the 'normal' world of business hustlers who step on others to get ahead, the ones who are too smart usually to end up in jail! except where our hero steps in... Terminal Greed has echoes of Christopher Skase's escapades and the climax happens on an island in the Mediterranean. Very clever denouement, fresh and original plot.
