Heidi and the Kaiser

Rate this book
Eager, naive Heidi starts a job with one of the largest fashion companies in the world, but it isn't as exciting as she'd hoped. A wanna-be designer, she finds herself nothing more than a glorified go-fer.

Then, she accidentally stains CEO Warren Kaiser's pants and she gets two things she didn't expect--a spanking... and a new position.

Kaiser hires her on as his assistant, and her "training" proves to be quite a test of surrender.

Disgusting.

That is the best word to describe my feelings on this "book." I thought it would be an entertaining, light read. That is not what this is. There was very little by way of description, back story, or substance to any of the characters. There wasn't even enough information about Heidi. Certainly nothing that would give any indication as to why she has absolutely no self-respect or self-worth (and, newsflash, this is not the signature of a submissive). I'm sure the author thought this would be titillating and ultimately sweet. Instead it was demeaning and degrading.

This is not a D/s story about a boss and his secretary with a happily ever after. If that is what you're looking for, I suggest you run in the other direction. This is a story about a woman who allows herself to become absolutely nothing more than a human sex toy for her boss's personal and professional use. Yes, you read that right, professional use. She doesn't care, however, as she has somehow developed feelings for him (though there has been nothing between them other than his professional commands and their brief encounters in the office) and any other ambition she had is lost in her need to serve him - in any and every way he desires. "Heidi would do anything" doesn't even begin to describe it. The supposed "happy ending" will have you rolling your eyes, cringing in disgust, and praying that the both of them are sterile.

Please, save yourself the rage and disgust and find a read that is actually sexy and romantic, there are plenty out there. This is most certainly not it.

I haven't read a lot of BDSM books, but of the ones I have read so far, this is by far My favorite. The story has sex and intrigue, conflict and a happy ending. Selena writes AWESOME spanking scenes, and there is no doubt who is in charge here.

This book really surprised me. When I was reading it, my first thought was how degrading the storyline was.

A girl named Heidi is a graduate from design school and making her way in the business by working as a gofer on photo shoots. She is treated like crap, no one appreciates her and I am sure she gets paid pennies. The work hours are horrible and it's pretty much a thankless job.

One day while at a photo shoot, the big boss man Warren Kaiser visits the set. And from that point on it is all downhill for Heidi that day. She ruins a very expensive suit of his after getting a henna tattoo that hadn't dried yet. She was afraid she was going to get fired. And what did she get instead...a spanking...literally. Mr. Kaiser spanked her. Apparently that is his way of punishing his employees, ones he finds attractive anyways.

But I digress...the part I fond degrading was Mr. Kaiser's treatment of Heidi when she comes to work as his assistant. He punished her quite frequently. He was quite a big tease. She liked the punishment and wanted so much more.

I really don't like giving too much story away. But I will say that even though I thought the storyline was degrading at first glance, I decided to give the book the benefit of the doubt and she how the story unfolds.

I was pleasantly surprised on how much I really enjoyed this book. I misunderstood Kaiser. Although some people may not like his methods, he only does things as long as the participant is willing. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a good distraction. The characters were great and very likable. I look forward to reading more books from this author...thanks for the wonderful distraction.

WHAT DID I JUST READ??

ummm..

Yeah..i don't know.

Oh gosh. This review isn't turning out how i planned. Sorry for the rumbling, i just..have no words.

Okay (deep breath)

I had absolutely no connection to ANY of the characters. I knew NOTHING of who Heidi was/is. Just that she was a bland character. Nothing about her stood out. She had nothing of interest.

I felt no attraction to the "hero"

Hahaha I'm sorry, he doesn't even come close to being one!

I found him tacky, disgusting and annoying. And in NO WAY did i find him attractive.

Note that i am talking in past tense because it took me MONTHS to finally write a review for this monstrosity of a book.

The only thing i liked about Heidi and the Kaiser was when i finished reading Heidi and the Kaiser.

Heidi and the Kaiser, by Selena Kitt eXcessica Publishing. (2009)

The synopsis of this book was what caught my eye at first.
The cover it's very promising, and pretty clear on what is the history about.

Since Under Mr. Nolan’s Bed I was a little bit afraid of the end but this one was perfect and caught me at surprise.

Selena Kitt certainly knows how to write, and all the scenes are very complete. Every line it’s worth of the reading. The love-sex-scenes are very meticulous and at same time not boring or tiring.

Some limits are tested, bounds are made and loyalty and obedience is tested.

Heidi and the Kaiser, it’s for sure a favorite.

LOL - how come I always end up with these book?
(for better and for worse!)
The hotness rating is 5 stars, but the rest is 2 minus.

REDEEMING FACTOR:
I don't know why, please tell my body to stop, but these books make me... (what's that overused word again?) hot. The story was a somewhat interesting, but overall kind of annoying.

THE REST:
Unconvincing story line (of course, as always).
I didn't like our female lead, a total wuss.
And the male lead?
well, OH MY GOD, it's the same male character staring in all erotic BDSM (aka 50 Shades)!
A rich, well dressed, inhumanly hot, dark, company owning control freak, who gets a sexual kick by privately exerting punishments/control. Oh, and he's absolutely brilliant in bed as well.
EVERY. SINGLE freaking TIME.

RANT
How great is that?
Like banging my head against the wall. How else would the damsel fall for such an "awesome" jerk? (just my opinion; Try to think if he was an actual person!!)

Q: Well miss Hard to Please, why did you read them then?
A: Even when I was thinking "you gotta be essing me, 'cause mo'fer better be running if he be beating on me!" I was fanning my self, this is so hot!!

Now my thoughts are turning: Perhaps I don't actively like the themes, but because I like control (aka decide everything) and struggle to relax & let go, I subconsciously want the loss of control exhibited in these books. Hmmm, might be, but even so damn you personal Freud, I can't change who I am!

Rating: 5 stars, because of the memories it brings back.
First read: 2007

So with my reading, I prefer virgin heroines who has only slept with the hero and sleep with only the hero and ONLY HIM. Period. Was the heroine's lover here only Kaiser? No, because she gave another man a blowjob, and I'm pretty sure she wasn't a virgin. *sigh* This was THE FIFTY SHADES before Fifty Shades even blew up, which always baffled me because when I first read Fifty Shades online on an erotica site before it was published in 2011, I didn't like the authors poorly written work and that it was almost exactly like Heidi and the Kaiser by Selena Kitt (which was first put only in 2006 on literotica.com). It could be possible that the author of Fifty Shades could've plagiarised.. Just saying.

I love seeing how the authors I've been following on literotica.com since 2007 become have not become famous. It makes me feel special to know that I've read this before it was officially published, in its raw unrefined format. I recently purchased this from iBooks to give my support for Selena Kitt, who I will also know as Selena_Kitt from literotica.com, where she was known to be one of the most helpful and kindest authors.

Heidi a go-fer for models and for the best Designer Mr. Kaiser whom makes her an offer she can't refuse and he shows her more about herself than she ever knew possible and became his assistant instead of being a Go-fer ... she soon learns that her designs were stolen by an ex friends who was a friend of her roommates and a rich brat who's father was a designer ... also Lenny one of her friends from where she worked before encourages her to tell her boss Warren Kaiser whom wants her and she wants him the truth that the designs he's being told is someone else's is actually hers Heidi's now the question is will this truth be revealed and will there be more between Mr. Kaiser and Heidi well to find this and much more out .. well buy the book then read it and review it and read more from Selena Kitt...until next read and review read on .. also if you can't handle sexual context then please don't read .. not suitable for anyone under 18 years of age ...

warning
..spanking...domination...eww...those words drew me to this book. I didn't want a true love story where a billionaire saves a poor girl they do a little bdsm and fall in love. I wanted this book. I wanted the animalistic desires. I needed the visceral response. I cried out her punishments with her and I felt the heat of their mark. I loved this bokk. very well written the ending just came out of left field and the author tried to hard for a perfect ending. this is a great quick read

Heavy spanking, and master slave elements.

this was one hot book. loved every minute of it.
heidi and Mr(warren)kaiser, don't have an ordinary relationship. nor do theey have the ordinary boss receptionist, relationship. this one i think was straight from the porn film onto the paper. it reads like a porn film..... not that it's a bad thing mind you ;o)

This was a delightful little fantasy full of hot sexy scenes. The author hit all the right notes in delivering a contemporary fairy tale complete with a downtrodden Cinderella type heroine, a super rich and mysterious hero, and a nasty bad guy (girl in this case).

I recommend this book to those who like BDSM romances and don't particularly require them to be true to life.

Probably 3.5-3.75. The whole big surpirse was a little unbelievable. But the book reminded me of the movie The Secretary which I loved.

I have only read a handful of Selena Kitt books (though I have bought a ton). This is not one I had read or owned yet and I enjoyed it. Though this book has others in its 'series' I did not miss anything important by reading this one first.
Sabrina is head over heels for her long distance boyfriend Rob. It is not just any long distance relationship though seeing as he is a rock star.
Worried about his feelings for her when she goes to visit him one weekend, she finds out that just because he is famous does not mean he doesn't want a simple family type of life.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

It has everything you expect from Selena Kitt (Hot steamy sex and whole lot of it). Since I have read several of her books and liked them, I thought I would like this one too. The characters were under developed. Heidi was just too weak for my liking.

There was some token romance in there since Heidi and Kaiser end up happily ever after, however, this part of the story was lacking and I would have liked to see more.

Different..... I got this one in a anthology a long time ago and I finally got around to reading it. I have to say I had pause when Heidi had to "see" Roberto. Wasn't something I would want to read in every story. I have to say I wasn't a fan of the Kaiser. Selena Kitt had guts writing this story, not everyone would write some of the scenes she did.

I love reading and listening to this story, from the start to the end I was drawn to Heidi. She is a natural submissive and I see why Kaiser fell hard for her. I love how Kaiser took his time bring Heidi into the woman he knew she was meant to be and his partner for life. Most of all I have to say the narrator did an excellent job in telling this story.

This book was very cold in my opinion...

Wanted to like this book but the emotional development of the characters was rushed and I constantly feel like the female lead was going to end up tweeting #MeToo

This book is not for the faint of heart. There is not as much sex in this as you would expect from an erotica book, but what is there is very steamy. The BDSM that takes place in this story is on the light side. Mostly just a " little slap and tickle". Not too bad of a story.

Cute but close to fanfic

A simple enough story that works to string together the scenes and relationship but it’s mostly paper thin and reads close to a fanfic.

Same old, same old. Don't erotic romance writers ever write anything but submissive women? Glad I got this book cheap.
