Can two mythological water shifters find their way back to each other, despite a past of betrayals?

Raya Burns gave up her peaceful, protected life with her true love in order to find her missing brother. She's spent the last decade learning just how much she's capable of and how far she's willing to go. Alone.

After a decade on his own, Ian McLachlan is more than ready to leave the peace and solitude of his lake home. His old friend, GPSA Agent Carson Perenga, has called in a favor. A prisoner connected to one of his cases has escaped and may be headed straight into Ian's territory.

When Raya and Ian's new lives come crashing back together, they have no choice but to confront the past.

If the present has them facing each other down from opposite sides of the law, what can the future possibly hold for them?

Ian is on the hunt for a missing criminal and is surprised to find out a water spirit Ashray is involved, and not only that but it's his ex Raya. Is she being blackmailed, is she a mercenary, or is this the life she chose when she left him?, he doesn't know but he's determined to find out even if she is a ghost.
Raya is determined to find her brother and will do everything it takes to find answers and finish her task.

The 3rd book in this series was a little better. I was not overly found of the couple in this story.

Let's start with Raya. She begins the story doing wrong supposedly for the right reasons but she was so cold to Ian despite their love. Ian was a slightly less interesting story - a recluse hiding from life. Oddly, he was connected to the GPSA with no real backstory. We learn early on that everything Raya did to Ian and for Charles was to get her closer to finding her brother. We also know that ultimately human trafficking is involved which was were I expected to find her brother. His reveal was a bit of a surprise.

I am not letting Ian off the hook. He was also to blame for their relationship falling apart because he refused to help her early on when her brother disappeared. But after a little sexy scene, all is forgiven. The whole of their relationship just rang false. She did horrible things and he wouldn't help her. I never felt like they connected or worked well as a couple.

I am still curious about the GPSA and the big plan the bad guys have so I will probably read other books in this series but I am not going to rush right out and get them.

This is a paranormal second chance romance story line. Raya Burns and Ian McLachlan had been lovers at one time. But in order to find her missing brother, she walked away from him. She has learned much about herself and her capabilities. She has grown over her time away from him. But over ten years that passed without them being together, their paths went in different directions, putting them on opposite sides.

Being on his own for so long, Ian McLachlan is ready to agree to a favor from his old friend, Federal Paranormal Unit Agent Carson Perenga. A prisoner has escaped and may be headed straight into Ian's territory. But when the event brings Ian and Raya together again, they are on opposite sides and will have to decide if they will take this second chance that has been offered, or if they will fight against each other. Will they find their way back to each other again? Can they forgive the past betrayals?

Total Excitement

What can you say when you handcuff two mates that aren't getting along together? This is a very exciting ride from the beginning and you will never believe what you will find behind each corner. You can just feel the steam and anger rolling off some of these pages. Gotta love Ian as he tries to hold it together, and Raya while she is trying to get her own mission accomplished.

Love how they get thrown together, even if Raya doesn't like it. But can you truly hate the man you are destined to love?

Come read the excitement and go..wow didn't see that coming when you get there.

Quite The Reunion

Ian has agreed to help his old friend Carson in finding an escaped felon for Global Paranormal Security Agency (GPSA). So, he gets the shock of his life when he finds out that the woman who helped break out the criminal is no other than his former love, Raya Burns. Raya has built up a reputation as a mercenary, but she has a secret higher mission. I loved all the violently simmering emotions and pain that seeped between Ian and Raya, all that emotion made their eventual happily ever after so sweet. An exciting and action-packed story.

There were a few times when I felt I was missing something during this novel, like I should know what they are discussing and didn't. Raya has gone deep into the underworld to find her brother and Ian refused to help her 10 years ago. There is a lot of unresolved tension between Raya and Ian and the story is great, I am keen to know what is going on with the human trafficking, the GPSA and how they can stop it.

An exciting book that pits water shifters, Raya and Ian, against each other while also giving them a second chance at the love that they are destined to share. I found the premise of this book to be intriguing while I also loved the comedic aspects. Like when the two of them get handcuffed together and are pretty much forced to get along and work together. Priceless!

Part of the Federal Paranormal Unit series, what a story I was not putting this book down until I had finished reading it. Raya Burns and Ian McLachlan get a second chance to be together, but they will go through so much with villains, a missing brother, and finding a way to be together again. In the meantime they’ve grown in different ways and now find themselves on opposite sides. Follow their path through twists and turns with surprises at every bend.

Great book

Surfacing is a great book to read if you want excitement. I would recommend reading Awakened first because it has some of the same people in it. Even if you don’t it would be good by it’s self. Loved it
